Camp Carp Psychology
The upbeat, innocent jingle of the Wiggle's theme song played in the background as I heaved a sigh,
slumping down onto the ground in exhaustion. Dylan laid on his bunk, completely lost to the world
while immersed in the show. Although it was already our break, my breathing was still heavy from
the events prior. I glanced at over at Kyle, my partnered counselor, who tiredly rubbed his face from
his position on another bed. Dylan had pulled another fit at naptime, and despite our efforts to
convince him to take a rest instead of overexerting himself, he hadn't been in the most compliant
mood. After countless times of being refused a trip to the horseback–riding platform–due to the
arduousness of the trek in the Central Texas heat and frequent absence of the horses–Dylan had had
the last straw with us. His frustration quickly escalated into an all out cabin shoe–fight between the
campers, which was exactly what it sounded–shoes flung around as deadly projectiles. By the time
the other counselors and I had finally calmed it down, the cabin was in utter disarray.
It was my second week as a certified volunteer counselor at the Children's Association for
Maximum Potential, fittingly named Camp CAMP–a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But in my parents' teachings I found what proved to be just as paramount in my pursuit to show
Dylan the full camp experience: perseverance. Their lessons drilled into me tenacity, and the camp's
basis that "camp is for the camper" served as a mantra for self–motivation. That night, I made a
promise to myself, as I sat in the dim light of the cabin porch after the campers had gone to sleep,
filling out Dylan's camper activity booklet, to uphold the fundamental purpose of CAMP–providing
opportunities for campers who rarely experienced them elsewhere–with the values I had embedded
in my heart as a

Pow Camps And The Concentration Camps
Jace Thacker Pre–AP English II, B8 Mrs. Connor April 17, 2015 Prisoners of Death Bang! Boom!
All you can see is darkness, but you hear as if outside. Prisoners of war were captured everywhere
during WWII. POW camps had better treatment and were better than than other concentration
camps. The conditions of the camps varied from one to another, but from Stalags and Concentration
camps, they were close to the same. A large portion of deaths in POW camps were from "lack of
food" (Uhl 1). The recommended daily minimum was a 2,000 calorie diet (Rees 5).However this
was impossible to do with the shortage of food. (Rees 5). Some of the food was "potatoes and moldy
bread" (Uhl 1) which was part sawdust (Uhl 1). Many only got "5 grams" of bread (Solzhenitsyn
25). Millions of people were surely to die (Jones 11). Although the camps were harsh, the prisoners
were allowed to do many activities such as sports, newspaper, musicals, and more (Uhl 2). Many
camps featured musical and plays to entertain others and to be used as propaganda (Uhl 2). Even
though the POW's had better choices, they were still beaten and murdered like the others captured.
(Uhl 2). In eight months, Nazis murdered 2.8 Russian Pow's, exceeding the amount of mass murder
during the holocaust. (Uhl 2). While in the camps, many died from the Baatan Death March that
killed off all remaining prisoners of the Japanese ("Prisoners of War" 4). The weather was also a
large aspect to the deaths. The prisoner's "fingers were

Descriptive Essay On Astronomy Camp
Astronomy Camp Slam! I shut the car door behind me. This would be the first year on my own,
away from my home and my family. I set my feet on the rough, yet new looking gravel road and let
out a sigh. From behind, I hear cars coming my way, and I look around at my surroundings as I grab
my things. Trees of all shapes and forms surround me, their green leaves and giant branches enticing
me to get closer. I swallow a lump that forms in my throat, urging the already swarming butterflies
in my stomach to calm down. This year, I would meet new people and make new friends, it was
thrilling. Yet beneath it all, I found myself anxious of the upcoming week. I look around at the trees,
trying to convince myself that it wouldn't be so bad. The camp was small, only 3 buildings, but it
was quaint.I glance at the buildings of wood and stone surrounding me, and I notice a woman on the
porch. She sits with a smile, her lengthy hair down on the ground. I'm drawn to her like a sheep to a
shepherd and I grab my stuff, walking to her. The woman stands and I note she is short and stout.
Though she spoke with power and intelligence, she had a soft and kind tone to her voice. She
welcomes me into the camp, showing me to a room where I will be sleeping. I put my substantial
load on the bed, grabbing my sleeping bag and pillow. I walk out and notice two new campers have
arrived, I feel my heart begin to pound within my chest. A tall boy, who to me looked like your

Juvenile Boot Camps
Juvenile Boot Camps
In this project I am going to talk about the problem that different states have in juvenile offenders
and how they deal with them in regards to juvenile boot camps, also I am going to explain what is
known about juvenile boot camps in the United States, the degree of success of these efforts, and a
general summary of boot camps. With that in mind I am going to answer 4 different questions in
order to gain a better understanding of this program. The questions I will answer are as follows:
How have different jurisdictions dealt with delinquency problems, Which states have boot camps
and why, When did these states start using them, and finally What types of offenders are associated
with these boot camps. To start ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They have set up 5 guidelines to juvenile boot camps and they are as follows:
1. Participation by nonviolent offenders only;
2. A residential phase of 6 months or less;
3. A regimented schedule stressing discipline and physical training;
4. Participation by inmates in appropriate education opportunities, job training, and substance abuse
counseling or treatment; and
5. Provision of aftercare services that are coordinated with the program that is provided during the
period of confinement In the beginning there were great achievements in boot camps for kids. First
year boot camp completion rates were high, ranging from 80 percent to 94 percent. Youths improved
in educational performance, physical fitness, and behavior. Ratings of youths in respect for
authority, self–discipline, teamwork, and personal appearance also improved significantly. Youths
who graduated from the 3 month boot camp and remained in aftercare for at least 5 months reported
positive changes in attitudes and behavior. The main objectives of all juvenile boot camps and after
care activities are pretty much the same, here are a few: o Serve as a cost–effective alternative to
Institutionalization.
o Promote discipline through physical conditioning
And teamwork.
o Instill moral values and a work ethic.
o Promote literacy

Descriptive Essay On Camp Enfer
I stared out the window of an old, run down cab. I let out a breathy sigh.
"Nervous kid?" the old cab driver asks.
I nod my head.
"I've been here before, it's just not my favorite place"
"You'll be fine, many kids come and go. They always seem to return with a bright smile on their
face."
He gives me a crooked grin, showing his yellow stained teeth. I chuckled.
"I'll take your word for it"
The rest of the ride was quiet with small talk here and there. I could have driven over here myself,
but I always get a bad feeling while driving. After about an hour drive we finally made it to our
destination, Camp Enfer. Camp Enfer was worn out beyond its years. Fortunately for the camp it
was placed in the middle of a beautiful landscape. It was surrounded by gigantic pine trees. It had
valleys that seem to go on forever. A lake that glistened in the sunshine. Hills that were greener than
a Granny Smith apple picked on a sunny spring day. As I stepped out of the cab I smelled the chilly
fresh air that surrounded me. I smiled, for it was the only thing I missed about this wretched place. I
helped Tim get my bags out of the trunk and I saw him speed away in his little yellow cab, wishing I
was anywhere, but here.
"Hey stranger, haven't seen you in awhile"
I looked over to see one of the only people I can actually tolerate in this damn place.
"Sebby!" I yelled.

My Experience Of My Life In The Refugee Camp
When I was eleven years old, I was living in one of the small Bhutanese Refugee Camp called
Goldhap located in Jhapa, Nepal. Life in the refugee camp was simple for me since I was only 11
years old. But for most adults including my parents, it was very challenging. Since they didn't have
their own land; they couldn't eat whatever they wanted to like in Bhutan where they had large arable
land for plantation. People in camp were not allowed to work outside of camp. But to provide for
their family they worked laborious jobs such as stone–breaking, road–cleaning, and ploughing (with
an Ox). My parents did all they could to satisfy our needs and some wants. Ever since I was little
doctors fascinated me so when I grew up I wanted to become one. However, I knew it was next to
impossible to become a doctor in Camp because of financial situation. The turning point of my life
was when I came to America.
Thankfully, I was born in supportive and loving family. Both of my parents worked very hard to
provide for the family. My dad was a skilled carpenter thereby, he would go to different parts of
Nepal and India to work. On the other hand, my mom stayed home and worked. She would make
Nanglo; a flat, round tray made of bamboo and sell those to earn some money. Besides that, she did
various other works such as sewing, sharecropping etc. Even though she was busy most of the time
she never failed to encourage me to study. She was the first one to teach me the importance of
education even

Summary Of When David Gets A Concentration Camp
Why should you read this? In this book it shows how a young boy can do things that you wouldn't
think a boy could do. For example David escapes a concentration camp without any parents. He is
told by a man to go to a place called Denmark. David starts his journey. While David is on his
journey he realizes that he cannot do this on his own. So he turns to the God of the green pastures.
You may not realize it but as David goes on his journey his faith starts to grow. It is a great book for
children and even adults!
My favourite part: My favourite part in this book was when David gets himself painted by the
Danish lady Sophie Bang. When David's portrait is painted he is invited to her house for dinner.
There he learns that Demark is a free country. He also learns about a Woman there who had been in
a concentration camp but got ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He liked to be on his own and be his own leader. He was very adventures.
Sophie Bang: A Danish lady who had fair hair and grey eyes she was not pretty or good looking she
looked really intelligent. Sophie was friends with David's mother and she liked to paint.
Synopsis:
David laid in the concentration camp listening to the sound of the men. A man told David that he
must leave the camp and head to Denmark. David listened to the man and escaped the consecration
camp. David ran as far away as he could from the camp. David would run at night and sleep in the
day. David stumbles on some soup and bread and decides to take some. David hides in a delivery
van and gets a ride. While David is in the van he thinks he hears his old friend Johannes who died
from a heart attack. David gets a ride on a boat. The man on the boat gave David a life belt and
threw him out the ship. David was in the water for several hours. When David finally got to the
shore he sees the beauty of the country and he cries. David then chooses that he does not want to die

Escape From Camp 14 Analysis
This passage makes an appearance ¾ through Blaine Hardens novel " Escape from Camp 14."
Blaine Harden writes a thrilling story about Shin Dong Hyuk escape from camp 14, a north Korean
labor camp, where no other man has even had the idea of escaping from the heavily gated exit
points. Shin grew up in the Labor Camp due to the crimes that his family committed generations ago
and is still look down upon. His mother and only brother were executed for murder and stealing of
food in the camp thus resulting in a very unstable situation to grow up to. Shin is later is kidnapped
into an underground jail and spends more than 8 months without even seeing a ray of sun. Although
it seem that nothing good would come out of this miserable situation Shin was able to find the
needle in the Haystack. He meets an individual who has been locked up as well and is inspired to
escape from the camp and see the outside world that God created and set as a place for everyone to
see. Shin with a little bit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Human being have an emotional side and physical aspect to them. Escaping from the Camp was a
challenge but overcoming the emotional phase for Shin has been very tough . " I escaped
Physically,' he said " I haven't escaped psychologically." As in the selected passage above, Shin
states " I am evolving from being an animal , but it is going very slowly, " underlines the fact that
always Shin thinks about all the hardships that he had to face to get here. One could put it this way,
even though he was able to escape the camp with his body he left on key organ back in the camp, his
brain. Many of those who have to go through unhumanly hardships such as the genocide, slavery
,labor camps , and war will always have some sort of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It takes
lifetimes for one to forget about a certain event and it is never easy to let things go

Personal Narrative: The Futures Field Hockey Camp
Twenty pulls. Twelve dodges. One shot. Now run. Timer stops. It's over.
The futures field hockey camp. The best from all over the state practice from January to April at the
nearby college to then compete in one, possibly two, tournaments. Regionals and then, if you make
it passed, nationals. A chance to practice with the US Olympic team.
"Going to this camp will be great," I told my best friend, Macy, after practice in the locker room. A
badge. For the ones that go to this camp. A symbol of greatness among our teams. Gold and silver,
the colors of a champion.

I placed the plates and forks at each spot and poured milk into each glass. And we sat down to eat.
"So guess what?" I asked Dad as we started to eat.
"What?"
"Today we tried out for this field hockey camp and..." I started out. I shared, not letting anyone talk
until I was finished. After I mentioned the cost of the camp the thing he did made me stop mid–
speech. He placed his fork down onto his napkin and his face went blank too.
"What?" I asked not sure what had happened. Still, he said nothing. His only other reaction was the
long side glance right after I had asked him what had happened.
"Honey...." He started. I could tell what he had been about to say even before started talking. He
wasn't going to let me go to the camp.
After dinner, all my parents would talk about were other options.
"You'll like them just as much." They insisted. But I wasn't buying it. This camp handed out a badge
on the last day. That badge. I wanted that badge on my bag. I'm sure everyone on our team desired
the feeling of walking onto the field, feeling everyone's eyes cling to the badge as you crossed in

I Am A Camp Counselor
I absolutely adore my job. It's far from my home in Massachusetts and it doesn't pay much, but I
really love it. I can only work in the summer because my job is all the way in South Florida, but it's
worth the commute. I am a camp counselor at an equestrian camp and all my campers are the lights
of my life. The weather here in Florida isn't great but it's mostly manageable. I am the counselor for
group "1A" which is the youngest group of kids. I adore my campers, each one is different in their
own special way and they each have a unique way of making me smile. I love walking through the
glass doors, into the "clubhouse" of the camp. The floors were hardwood and, despite being cleaned
every day, usually quite dirty due to the campers. I'd ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hurricane Matthew was brutal, and nothing short of a heart break. A few families actually drive
down from northern Florida, about seven hours, to come to camp. When I remembered this I went
into an instant shock. "What if someone is hurt," I asked myself, "what if a camper is hurt?" Then it
hit me, "what if one of my campers is hurt?" The thought of it made me ache, I tried to ignore the
feeling but it was nothing short of impossible, my campers are in danger. I told myself I was
overreacting, there's no way that out of the people who were getting hurt, one of my campers could
actually be one of them. Then we received an email: "We are not sure on details but we believe one
of our younger campers may be severely injured by Hurricane Matthew, we will keep you updated.
Please stay safe, everyone!" As I read it, my heart dropped further down with each word until
eventually it felt like my heart had fallen to my stomach. My fingers froze and I couldn't exit the
email, I just stared at it. That email became my worst enemy, I couldn't stop myself from reading it
over and over again, and every time I read it, I analyzed it more, and it began killing me from the
outside–in. The email read "one of our youngest campers" so it has to be on of my girls... but I don't
know who, what, or how. I spent the next two days with this constant burden, I felt like I had
weights tied to all of my limbs. Everything was much more

The Slave Labor Camp, Buna, By Primo Levi
From birth, three basic necessities are recognized as vital in order to sustain life, those being
clothing, shelter, and food (which also includes water). With these three basic requirements met, a
human can survive. However surviving and living one's life fully as a human are separate things,
and the question must be asked does the limitation of food to the bare minimum required to continue
sustaining one's body begin to also impinge on one's humanity (which for the purposes of this paper
will be defined as the entire human existence, physically, emotionally, and otherwise) in a more
thorough way? Food is a prime example of how the slave labor camp, Buna, as told by Primo Levi
in his memoir Survival in Auschwitz, attempted to dehumanize Levi. Levi begins with the journey
(the literal one) at a camp in Italy where he is being held. It was announced by the Germans that
Jews would be leaving the camp – destination unknown. Loaded onto buses, the crowds were taken
to a train station where they boarded and were off. Levi recalls the discomfort of the train and
accounts of others around him. Upon arrival, the men and women were separated, and soon
thereafter Levi, unaware the same fate awaited him, first witnessed a prisoner. From entering the
camp and onward, he is confused by the atrocities occurring around him. Levi goes through the
motions of admittance, shower, tattoo, new uniform, barrack assignment and then began the long
tortuous year, where his will was so

Indian Camp Analysis
Kian Cato September 17, 2017
From fishing trip to the birth of a baby to an unexplained suicide, Nick has had a very interesting
day. Indian Camp is centered around the main character Nick who is a young boy and his father is a
doctor. From the short story "Indian Camp", by Ernest Hemingway, Nick experiences his first time
seeing several things happening as graphic as child birth with C–section and suicide, things he had
never seen before and had no idea that he was about to experience that in his life. From the reading,
the young Indian seems reluctant to look at the episode head on however he was a good help to his
dad. I also observed that Nick is not a tough person, that he is sensitive, passionate and caring. "Oh,
daddy can't you give her something to make her stop screaming?" I think that Nick might have been
too young to be experiencing such a grownup episode as childbirth and under the circumstance as a
C–section and mortality. I also think that his father may have pushed this experience on him a little
too soon. As it turns out Nick still too young to really process the idea of mortality and Nick's father
had to explain to him a whole lot more than he expected to do. "He was looking away so as not to
see what his father was doing." "Nick did not watch. His curiosity had been gone for a long time."
In the "Indian Camp" there was a young boy named Nick who goes on an adventure with

Descriptive Essay About Camp Wakeshma
Camp Wakeshma has something special about it and always has me wanting to stay longer. Since I
was 12 years old, I've been going to Wakeshma every summer for a week. This camp is so simple
yet so fun and exciting. I'm driving to camp with William Fulton and our moms when we turn onto
Camp Wakeshma Rd. and go under the huge sign reading the name. We arrive late to camp due to a
baseball tournament, but we check in and put our belongings in the cabin. William and I say our
goodbyes and go find the rest of our cabin. Afterwards we line up for dinner by the flagpole.
Nobody could help but realize one of our cabin mates lost an arm due to cancer. At night when we
get ready for bed I see him change his shirt revealing his scars. As I go to bed, I don't think much of
it.
Today is a drag. Every year I can never sleep good the first night and this year it's no different. We
do our regular routine leading up to lunch and discuss more rules while standing at the flagpole.
Tony, the camp unit leader called our cabin to go in first and we made our way into the cafeteria. I
stood atop of the stage where our table sat and you could hear the doors whine as the hungry kids
pass through. Everyone is restless and excited for the first full day of camp. I'm just as excited as
everyone even though I'm one of the oldest campers. The cafeteria was like a giant school bus with
rows of loud kids. DINGGG the bell rings to capture everyone's attention. Tony announces we're

The Camp Monster
"Bill come on time to go!" Tom's mom screamed. Every summer Tom has to go to summer camp.
His parents are traveling all the time because of work. Tom really doesn't like to go, he's not the
"athletic type." Tom does not have a lot of friends and keeps to himself. As Tom walks down the
stairs to the car he feels a little overwhelmed. Tom has gone to the camp three summers in a row and
feels weirded out when he's near the woods. The camp counselors don't like it when kids go to the
woods by themselves, apparently kids have disappeared but the counselors don't talk about it too
much.
The car ride there is long. To get there you have to go far from town. You could see huge trees
swaying back and forth as you pass by, it's a little creepy. Bill arrived to the eerie camp, he saw all
the kids with their parents trying to check in and get to know the grounds. The car came to a stop
and Bill and his mom got out the car. It was a long ride there so it took Bill a minute to stretch out.
Bill and his mom walk up to the front desk, there was a young man at the desk looked like he was

the man said angrily. "Um yes please." Bill's mom said, but Bill zoend out the rest of the

Auschwitz: a prisoner camp, an industrial camp, and a death camp "...Imagine now a man who is
deprived of everyone he loves, and at the same time of his house, his habit, his cloth, in short, of
everything he possesses: he will be a hollow man, reduced to suffering and needs, forgetful of

death can be lightly decided with no sense of human affinity, in the most fortunate of cases, on the

He marked the passage into the camp with promise "Arbeit Macht Frei". Soon after the commandant
of Auschwitz had been given a big construction budget of two millions of marks to adapt the camp,
nevertheless materials for this construction was impossible to find. In the summer of 1940 the newly
established construction office in the camp, led by August Schlachter and Walther Urbancyk
reported that without materials constructions of the new buildings was impossible. Later, the SS had
identified the concentration camp as a central instrument to actualize its programs in Upper Silesia.
Originally a camp for prisoners that, "because of its industrial value, could not be deported and a
transit camp for those arrested who where then shipped west to perform slave labor." (Dwork and
Jan van Pelt 171) Auschwitz was put on the map of the SS financial empire by Pohl. He ordered
Höss to double the capacity of prisoners. Auschwitz was going to be converted into a production site

this new task of Auschwitz created the first sub camp of many. The expansion of Auschwitz I was
the first brick to complete the construction of a massive concentration camp. The industry of

Day Camp Reflection Paper
Observation This summer I worked at Camp Cory as a Day Camp Coordinator. This experience
came with many difficulties, one of the positives was working with counselors from other countries,
including Spain, England, Brazil, Colombia, and Scotland. In my opinion, some of my best co–
counselors were the international counselors. During the eight weeks I was there, I worked with four
international co–counselors to facilitate a day camp group and worked closely with several others.
Working with counselors from other countries, we shared our different values and learned about
each other cultures. Even though we were from different backgrounds, we grew together, learn to
work together despite our differences and became a family together. There were a few challenges
that had to be worked through, one being a language barrier or in many cases an accent barrier. For
some of the international workers, English was not their first language, or if it was, they had an
accent that was difficult to understand. The language and accent barrier created miscommunication
and funny conversations. There are many examples that I could write about, however my favorite
and the one that impacted me the most has to be from week eight. I was working on inventorying the
fused beads or the iron beads, with one of the international works from Brazil. We were counting the
peg board or the thing that beads go on and then you iron, anyways we came to one that shaped like

We Started Every Year Of Dixie Basketball Camp
"Are you fired up?!?" the General yelled. The answer, of course, was "Yes sir, fired up, sir!" This
was how we started every year of Dixie Basketball Camp as we came together in the Southwest
Mississippi Community College (SMCC) auditorium. It is hard to explain what the Dixie Basketball
Camp is all about. Experiencing it is really the only way of knowing. Dixie teaches kids every year
the value of hard work along with the fundamentals of basketball. The camp has a unique and
special enthusiasm, filled with cheering and chants, many of which have continued for many years
and have made Dixie one–of–a–kind. The General, Joe Dean Jr., has been running the camp for over
twenty years. He inspires five hundred campers every year to work hard and sweat on the basketball
court. Over the past eight years, he has served as a role model for me at the camp. The Dixie
Basketball Camp has been a significant part of my life since the fourth grade; I could not help but be
upset as I drove away from the campus after my eighth and final year at the world famous Dixie
Basketball Camp and Country Club, "Hey!" I was going to miss all of the enthusiasm the most. The
week of Dixie has always been my favorite week of the year. I love everything about Summit,
Mississippi and the fun I had there every summer. The summer before my senior year of high school
was the fiftieth year of the camp and I thought to myself, "What a perfect way to end my Dixie
experience!" My brother and I drove to

Personal Narrative: My Experience At Camp Twin Lakes
On November 4, 2016, a few of my classmates and I traveled to Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, GA.
We were scheduled to be there at 5:00 pm. Our supervisor was Chelsey. We learned that Camp Twin
Lakes changed their name to Camp Stars for the weekend. The camp was a Bereavement Camp.
Chelsey gave us a tour and took us to our cabin. My classmates and I all slept in the same cabin.
That night we helped serve dinner. The families had either a turkey or vegan wrap, chips, s'mores,

they were at the camp. Later on that night we went back to our cabins.
The next morning, we got up about 7:15am. Everybody was coughing and it was freezing outside.
Breakfast was served at 7:45 am. Some of the girls helped serve. We had chicken and sausage

Concentration Camps Vs Japanese Internment Camps
Two months after Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt authorized "Executive order 9066". Which
made More than 110,000 Japanese in the U.S to relocate to internment camps for reason of "national
security". The United States feared that they're could have been Japanese spies inside America so the
government relocated most Japanese immigrants to camps. It was one of the saddest moments in
America that the government of America took actions on innocent people just because their heritage.
America's internment camps are similar yet different to Hitler's concentrations camps.
The term "internment" is often used in reference to Executive Order 9066, but it is a
mischaracterization. Internment commonly refers to the legal confinement within prescribed ...

Symbolism In Jesus Camp
In 2006, directors Heidi Erving and Cahal Grady released "Jesus Camp". The directors go to Devil's
Lake, North Dakota to document a camp run by and for Evangelicals. Becky Fisher, the camp's
leader, admits that society ought to indocrinate its children. The word "evangelical" means fervent
or zealous. Becky Fisher furvently trains the children to develop a one–sided perception of the world
so they can take back America for Christ. While all Evangelicals do not behave this way, the
directors present a group of these individuals and what they live for. In "Jesus Camp", the directors
create a political context, elements of juxtaposition and symbolism to promote the discussion of the
following: when does education become indoctrination?
With the presidential election of George Bush in 2005, Evangelicals felt empowered. He was a
conservative and many of his political ideals aligned with the evangelicals'. Becky Fisher utilizes the
camp activities comminicate conservative political ideology to the children. In "Jesus Camp", Becky
Fisher denies the claim that her camp is politically inclined. Yet, her camp "activities" assert a
different side of the argument. For example, the camp's leaders told the children that abortion is
wrong. The camp's leaders spoke of Roe v. Wade and how it legalized abortion within the first
trimester in the pregnancy. The leaders show what fetuses look like at different stages in the
pregnancy. They tell the children that one third of their friends are

Reflection Paper On Going To A Camp
Going somewhere new without knowing anybody can be very terrifying. I never thought of going to
a place like this. My family heard of this camp from a few of our relatives. I have some misgivings
about this camp, but I am willing to give it a try. I am not involved in my church that often and this
camp is a christian camp so I feel like it is going to be awkward, or maybe I'd be excluded. Camp
Shamineau taught me to accept myself for who I am and that everyone else will too, including God.
It is now the day that I am supposed to leave for camp and I notice that I am extremely nervous. It is
in Staples Motley so it took us about an hour to get there. When we pulled up I observe that there is
a great welcoming crew; some on horses, some just jumping and directing us where to go. We
parked the car and when I got out the air smelt like fresh–cut grass and excitement! I started to get
scared and nervous of what's to come. I am now at a place that i'd never been in before with people
I'd never met. I know that everyone that is here most likely feels the same way. I am feeling alone,
and now I definitely didn't want my mom to leave, but she had to. I gave her a big hug and kiss. I
had trust in her when she started to tell me not to worry and that it was going to be a fun experience.
I sat on my bed and watched as more girls walked in. Some of them were extremely shy, a few
excited, a couple nervous, and some scared just like me. When everyone in my cabin finally

Camp B : Sir Jack 's Problem Essay
Camp B was Sir Jack 's problem, he had the forces from Minos with him, along with the sword
maiden Josie. Jack 's task was going to be harder than the others, he was supposed to capture at least
one of the snorpians alive for questioning. Right now he was in waiting mode, his forces were
concealed in the woods between camp B and the snorpian 's main base. Camp B was where the
pregnant females were being kept, Jack had no desire to rush in their with waving swords and have
to fight his way through a multitude of abused females. Some slaves ran by from the direction of the
main base and Jack let them pass by unmolested, maybe they would try to reinforce the main base
and he could strike out at the snorpians when they passed by, enabling him to avoid direct contact
with most of the females.
Jack waited an hour and there was no sign that these snorpians had any intention of going to the aid
of their fellows. He had no choice now he 's have to advance to camp B. He gave the necessary
orders and his forces surrounded the camp. The females stood at the perimeter waiting for them with
weapons poised, this was going exactly the way Jack didn 't want it to.
Jack said, "I 'm going to try and talk to them, see if I can get them to stand down."
Josie said, "I don 't think that 's a good idea. If I was in their shoes, I would be very angry with the
entire male gender. They 've been raped, forced to carry the offspring of their rapists and the males

The Extermination Camp At Chelmno Concentration Camp
During the Nazi Holocaust, multiple working and death camps were created to hold the captured
Jews. While the Jews lived in this camp, they were tortured, mistreated, worked to death and
eventually were put to death by either execution by firearm or were put into a death camp which
exterminated the Jews using poison gas. The Nazi Party had developed many death camps in the
central european area including the 6 death camps of Poland; Auschwitz, Treblinka, Belzec,
Chelmno, Sobibor, and Majdanek.
Little has been published on Chelmno due to its significance as the first extermination camp to
become operational death camp. Chelmno concentration camp was established in November 1941
and was exclusively used for the executions of Soviet prisoners and Jews, most of whom were
Polish. The extermination camp at Chelmno demands special attention, because during the German
occupation only a very few people in Poland ever knew of its existence and the hundreds of
thousands of its victims. Chelmno introduced the most deadly phase of the Holocaust. Its victims
were from 36 communities in western Poland, along with 88 children from Czech town whose
population was decimated as a collective reprisal for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in May
of 1942. The facilities at Chelmno included three gas vans and two crematoria. Gassing at Chelmno
began on December 8, 1941 just hours before Pearl Harbor was struck by Japanese planes. By June
of 1942, Chelmno has produced 20 gas chambers from

My Decision Of Hiking Towards Camp
I was already miles down the trail before I began to second guess my decision of hiking towards
camp. It had been years since I had done something challenging and wanted to prove to the men,
that were waiting for my arrival, of my strength. The weather had grown colder and the snow
continued to fall with every step I took. Several times I had licked my lips, forgetting the low
temperature, and would instantly feel the saliva hardening into ice. Prior to the hike, a man offered a
hospitality ride from the nearest hotel due to the upcoming weather drop and lack of phone
connections along the path. I was told I would not be able to reach any type help, which I felt was an
insult to my masculinity, for another nine miles and by then I would ... Show more content on

Without thinking about how I should be careful also because that could very well happen to me, I
felt the ice beneath me crack and my feet, unable to move, becoming engulfed in the piercing water.
Irritated and quickly noticing the frigidness of my body, I decided it was time to take a break, start a
fire, and enjoy it's warmth. I placed my boots and my bare feet near the fire in an attempt to dry
them.
The first fire was a success, so I thought to myself, "This one will be no different." I was wrong. The
first time, the fire was put out by snow falling from a branch above him. The second time, the fire
was almost a success but was ruined by the loss of feelings in my hand as I tried to build its flame.
Now discourage, I begin to focus on my unfortunate luck and lack of company. Of course, the dog
was a nice companion, but deep down I felt uneasy about its intentions. Is it simply lonely? Was it
out looking for food when it stumbled across me? Wait. That thought gave me an idea. What if I
killed the dog for a source of food but more so for the warm its body held? Other countries eat dogs.
It wouldn 't be a completely morbid act to commit. I pondered on this thought, growing restless and
uneasy at my body and its ability to withstand the cold. At the beginning of the trip, I thought
nothing of the dangers enduring the harsh weather would entail, but seeing the effects it had on my
body I knew that if I did not reach camp in the next hour the results

Essay about Roaring Camp
The Regeneration of Roaring Camp
"And so the work of regeneration began is Roaring Camp"(9). The
regeneration referred to takes place in a California mining camp in 1850 after
the birth of Tommy Luck, son of Cherokee Sal, the camp's prostitute, who
died giving birth. Sometimes one doesn't realize how much he needs to
change until he gets a subtle push from fate. Just a little addition to the world
can cause a regeneration of a lifetime. Bret Harte demonstrates this idea in
the story "The Luck of Roaring Camp." In this story, Bret Harte shows that
even the roughest men can regenerate into kind, gentle, wholesome people,
with the love of a child.

Personal Narrative Essay : My Family Camp
I decided to write about my family camp, this camp is for special needs (like for my brother). In
general that was the only the second overnight camp I've been to, so it was really fun. We did many
activities like fishing, kayaking and much more. At that camp I met many of my old friends that
been to that camp for the second time, we would have much a fun time together. In the afternoon we
would go sailing fishing and do campfires.
The worst part of this whole family camp is that we have to drive there. The drive was 3 hours long
but it felt like forever, I felt like throwing up because I have motion sickness, we stopped a lot
during the car ride for washroom breaks and to get candy. We finally arrived at the camp, some staff
led us to our cabin (cabin loon), we then listened to "sell the sizzle" (what activities there are the
next day, and we ate dinner. The next day I would see my friends that came last year. When the day
started, we did the activities we chose.
During break and bonding time my friends and I would do some fishing, sailing and swimming.
Something ridiculous we would do is that we would ask the staff if we were allowed to flip the
sailboat, and the staff would let us because they "knew for sure" it's not possible to flip. A reason we
were allowed to do these things is because one of my friends is the son of the nurse working there.
Back to the topic, every day when we went sailing, we would try to tip the boat over but only
manage to get some water in.

cautiously looked out and saw no one. With the rule of no phones allowed, the mornings were the
perfect time to play, with the supervisor not up yet. As for the camp itself, it was large and had many
places to go and it was right next to a lake. There were multiple buildings such as the kitchen, the
story room, the cabins and the gift shop. After about an hour we headed back right before people

Summer Camp
It was summer of 2013 and it was my first time traveling alone. I was going to Champéry,

Evaluation Of The Boot Camps
Introduction Boot camps became a force to be reckoned with in the 1980s. It was at first imagined
as a powerful apparatus for settling behavioral issues of high schoolers. This approach was gotten
from the military style of rectifying the conduct of blundering individuals from the military. Boot
camps for young people have turned into a well known disciplinary alternative for guardians with
juvenile kids. Regularly prescribed by instructors or by state equity frameworks as a contrasting
option to adolescent confinement focuses, the boot camps are unbending military situations. Some
are wild camps that show youngsters ingrained instincts in a military–like setting, while others are
held nearer to home.Youth camps are short projects that may last from 3 to 6 months. The juvenile is
usually housed in an office alongside other youth guilty parties. Surrounded in a prison like
atmosphere, the goal of these camps are to produce youth that are productive in everyday life.
Juvenile delinquency is one of the additionally glaring issues confronting the children of this
generation. At present, the quantity of juveniles everywhere throughout the world has developed
into disturbing extents. Adolescent misconduct happens amid pre–adulthood, a period which is set
apart by a move from adolescence to adulthood. At this phase of their lives, they begin to end up
distinctly free and far from the direction of their folks. In spite of the fact that the young is

Children would take on jobs that their father or brothers usually did or chores that their mothers
could not manage alone because they were now the new head of the household since their husbands

There was a shortage of luxuries and very little household goods, especially in the South. As the war

alive. Or being one of the soldiers is the prison camps sitting there slowing dying, wondering if I
would ever see my family again. This was one of my favorite topics to learn about this

Camp Carp Psychology

  • 1. Camp Carp Psychology The upbeat, innocent jingle of the Wiggle's theme song played in the background as I heaved a sigh, slumping down onto the ground in exhaustion. Dylan laid on his bunk, completely lost to the world while immersed in the show. Although it was already our break, my breathing was still heavy from the events prior. I glanced at over at Kyle, my partnered counselor, who tiredly rubbed his face from his position on another bed. Dylan had pulled another fit at naptime, and despite our efforts to convince him to take a rest instead of overexerting himself, he hadn't been in the most compliant mood. After countless times of being refused a trip to the horseback–riding platform–due to the arduousness of the trek in the Central Texas heat and frequent absence of the horses–Dylan had had the last straw with us. His frustration quickly escalated into an all out cabin shoe–fight between the campers, which was exactly what it sounded–shoes flung around as deadly projectiles. By the time the other counselors and I had finally calmed it down, the cabin was in utter disarray. It was my second week as a certified volunteer counselor at the Children's Association for Maximum Potential, fittingly named Camp CAMP–a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But in my parents' teachings I found what proved to be just as paramount in my pursuit to show Dylan the full camp experience: perseverance. Their lessons drilled into me tenacity, and the camp's basis that "camp is for the camper" served as a mantra for self–motivation. That night, I made a promise to myself, as I sat in the dim light of the cabin porch after the campers had gone to sleep, filling out Dylan's camper activity booklet, to uphold the fundamental purpose of CAMP–providing opportunities for campers who rarely experienced them elsewhere–with the values I had embedded in my heart as a ... • 2. Pow Camps And The Concentration Camps Jace Thacker Pre–AP English II, B8 Mrs. Connor April 17, 2015 Prisoners of Death Bang! Boom! All you can see is darkness, but you hear as if outside. Prisoners of war were captured everywhere during WWII. POW camps had better treatment and were better than than other concentration camps. The conditions of the camps varied from one to another, but from Stalags and Concentration camps, they were close to the same. A large portion of deaths in POW camps were from "lack of food" (Uhl 1). The recommended daily minimum was a 2,000 calorie diet (Rees 5).However this was impossible to do with the shortage of food. (Rees 5). Some of the food was "potatoes and moldy bread" (Uhl 1) which was part sawdust (Uhl 1). Many only got "5 grams" of bread (Solzhenitsyn 25). Millions of people were surely to die (Jones 11). Although the camps were harsh, the prisoners were allowed to do many activities such as sports, newspaper, musicals, and more (Uhl 2). Many camps featured musical and plays to entertain others and to be used as propaganda (Uhl 2). Even though the POW's had better choices, they were still beaten and murdered like the others captured. (Uhl 2). In eight months, Nazis murdered 2.8 Russian Pow's, exceeding the amount of mass murder during the holocaust. (Uhl 2). While in the camps, many died from the Baatan Death March that killed off all remaining prisoners of the Japanese ("Prisoners of War" 4). The weather was also a large aspect to the deaths. The prisoner's "fingers were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Descriptive Essay On Astronomy Camp Astronomy Camp Slam! I shut the car door behind me. This would be the first year on my own, away from my home and my family. I set my feet on the rough, yet new looking gravel road and let out a sigh. From behind, I hear cars coming my way, and I look around at my surroundings as I grab my things. Trees of all shapes and forms surround me, their green leaves and giant branches enticing me to get closer. I swallow a lump that forms in my throat, urging the already swarming butterflies in my stomach to calm down. This year, I would meet new people and make new friends, it was thrilling. Yet beneath it all, I found myself anxious of the upcoming week. I look around at the trees, trying to convince myself that it wouldn't be so bad. The camp was small, only 3 buildings, but it was quaint.I glance at the buildings of wood and stone surrounding me, and I notice a woman on the porch. She sits with a smile, her lengthy hair down on the ground. I'm drawn to her like a sheep to a shepherd and I grab my stuff, walking to her. The woman stands and I note she is short and stout. Though she spoke with power and intelligence, she had a soft and kind tone to her voice. She welcomes me into the camp, showing me to a room where I will be sleeping. I put my substantial load on the bed, grabbing my sleeping bag and pillow. I walk out and notice two new campers have arrived, I feel my heart begin to pound within my chest. A tall boy, who to me looked like your average popular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Juvenile Boot Camps Juvenile Boot Camps In this project I am going to talk about the problem that different states have in juvenile offenders and how they deal with them in regards to juvenile boot camps, also I am going to explain what is known about juvenile boot camps in the United States, the degree of success of these efforts, and a general summary of boot camps. With that in mind I am going to answer 4 different questions in order to gain a better understanding of this program. The questions I will answer are as follows: How have different jurisdictions dealt with delinquency problems, Which states have boot camps and why, When did these states start using them, and finally What types of offenders are associated with these boot camps. To start ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They have set up 5 guidelines to juvenile boot camps and they are as follows: 1. Participation by nonviolent offenders only; 2. A residential phase of 6 months or less; 3. A regimented schedule stressing discipline and physical training; 4. Participation by inmates in appropriate education opportunities, job training, and substance abuse counseling or treatment; and 5. Provision of aftercare services that are coordinated with the program that is provided during the period of confinement In the beginning there were great achievements in boot camps for kids. First year boot camp completion rates were high, ranging from 80 percent to 94 percent. Youths improved in educational performance, physical fitness, and behavior. Ratings of youths in respect for authority, self–discipline, teamwork, and personal appearance also improved significantly. Youths who graduated from the 3 month boot camp and remained in aftercare for at least 5 months reported positive changes in attitudes and behavior. The main objectives of all juvenile boot camps and after care activities are pretty much the same, here are a few: o Serve as a cost–effective alternative to Institutionalization. o Promote discipline through physical conditioning And teamwork. o Instill moral values and a work ethic. o Promote literacy ... • 5. Descriptive Essay On Camp Enfer I stared out the window of an old, run down cab. I let out a breathy sigh. "Nervous kid?" the old cab driver asks. I nod my head. "I've been here before, it's just not my favorite place" "You'll be fine, many kids come and go. They always seem to return with a bright smile on their face." He gives me a crooked grin, showing his yellow stained teeth. I chuckled. "I'll take your word for it" The rest of the ride was quiet with small talk here and there. I could have driven over here myself, but I always get a bad feeling while driving. After about an hour drive we finally made it to our destination, Camp Enfer. Camp Enfer was worn out beyond its years. Fortunately for the camp it was placed in the middle of a beautiful landscape. It was surrounded by gigantic pine trees. It had valleys that seem to go on forever. A lake that glistened in the sunshine. Hills that were greener than a Granny Smith apple picked on a sunny spring day. As I stepped out of the cab I smelled the chilly fresh air that surrounded me. I smiled, for it was the only thing I missed about this wretched place. I helped Tim get my bags out of the trunk and I saw him speed away in his little yellow cab, wishing I was anywhere, but here. "Hey stranger, haven't seen you in awhile" I looked over to see one of the only people I can actually tolerate in this damn place. "Sebby!" I yelled. He gave me a pointed a look. His real name is Sebastian, but I like to call him Sebby. I walked over to him and gave him a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. My Experience Of My Life In The Refugee Camp When I was eleven years old, I was living in one of the small Bhutanese Refugee Camp called Goldhap located in Jhapa, Nepal. Life in the refugee camp was simple for me since I was only 11 years old. But for most adults including my parents, it was very challenging. Since they didn't have their own land; they couldn't eat whatever they wanted to like in Bhutan where they had large arable land for plantation. People in camp were not allowed to work outside of camp. But to provide for their family they worked laborious jobs such as stone–breaking, road–cleaning, and ploughing (with an Ox). My parents did all they could to satisfy our needs and some wants. Ever since I was little doctors fascinated me so when I grew up I wanted to become one. However, I knew it was next to impossible to become a doctor in Camp because of financial situation. The turning point of my life was when I came to America. Thankfully, I was born in supportive and loving family. Both of my parents worked very hard to provide for the family. My dad was a skilled carpenter thereby, he would go to different parts of Nepal and India to work. On the other hand, my mom stayed home and worked. She would make Nanglo; a flat, round tray made of bamboo and sell those to earn some money. Besides that, she did various other works such as sewing, sharecropping etc. Even though she was busy most of the time she never failed to encourage me to study. She was the first one to teach me the importance of education even ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Summary Of When David Gets A Concentration Camp Why should you read this? In this book it shows how a young boy can do things that you wouldn't think a boy could do. For example David escapes a concentration camp without any parents. He is told by a man to go to a place called Denmark. David starts his journey. While David is on his journey he realizes that he cannot do this on his own. So he turns to the God of the green pastures. You may not realize it but as David goes on his journey his faith starts to grow. It is a great book for children and even adults! My favourite part: My favourite part in this book was when David gets himself painted by the Danish lady Sophie Bang. When David's portrait is painted he is invited to her house for dinner. There he learns that Demark is a free country. He also learns about a Woman there who had been in a concentration camp but got ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Blaine Harden writes a thrilling story about Shin Dong Hyuk escape from camp 14, a north Korean labor camp, where no other man has even had the idea of escaping from the heavily gated exit points. Shin grew up in the Labor Camp due to the crimes that his family committed generations ago and is still look down upon. His mother and only brother were executed for murder and stealing of food in the camp thus resulting in a very unstable situation to grow up to. Shin is later is kidnapped into an underground jail and spends more than 8 months without even seeing a ray of sun. Although it seem that nothing good would come out of this miserable situation Shin was able to find the needle in the Haystack. One could put it this way, even though he was able to escape the camp with his body he left on key organ back in the camp, his brain. He placed his fork down onto his napkin and his face went blank too. "What?" I asked not sure what had happened. Still, he said nothing. His only other reaction was the long side glance right after I had asked him what had happened. "Honey...." He started. I could tell what he had been about to say even before started talking. He wasn't going to let me go to the camp. After dinner, all my parents would talk about were other options. "You'll like them just as much." They insisted. But I wasn't buying it. • 10. I Am A Camp Counselor I absolutely adore my job. It's far from my home in Massachusetts and it doesn't pay much, but I really love it. I can only work in the summer because my job is all the way in South Florida, but it's worth the commute. I am a camp counselor at an equestrian camp and all my campers are the lights of my life. The weather here in Florida isn't great but it's mostly manageable. I am the counselor for group "1A" which is the youngest group of kids. I adore my campers, each one is different in their own special way and they each have a unique way of making me smile. I love walking through the glass doors, into the "clubhouse" of the camp. The floors were hardwood and, despite being cleaned every day, usually quite dirty due to the campers. I'd ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hurricane Matthew was brutal, and nothing short of a heart break. A few families actually drive down from northern Florida, about seven hours, to come to camp. When I remembered this I went into an instant shock. "What if someone is hurt," I asked myself, "what if a camper is hurt?" Then it hit me, "what if one of my campers is hurt?" The thought of it made me ache, I tried to ignore the feeling but it was nothing short of impossible, my campers are in danger. I told myself I was overreacting, there's no way that out of the people who were getting hurt, one of my campers could actually be one of them. Then we received an email: "We are not sure on details but we believe one of our younger campers may be severely injured by Hurricane Matthew, we will keep you updated. Please stay safe, everyone!" As I read it, my heart dropped further down with each word until eventually it felt like my heart had fallen to my stomach. My fingers froze and I couldn't exit the email, I just stared at it. That email became my worst enemy, I couldn't stop myself from reading it over and over again, and every time I read it, I analyzed it more, and it began killing me from the outside–in. The email read "one of our youngest campers" so it has to be on of my girls... but I don't know who, what, or how. • 11. The Slave Labor Camp, Buna, By Primo Levi From birth, three basic necessities are recognized as vital in order to sustain life, those being clothing, shelter, and food (which also includes water). With these three basic requirements met, a human can survive. However surviving and living one's life fully as a human are separate things, and the question must be asked does the limitation of food to the bare minimum required to continue sustaining one's body begin to also impinge on one's humanity (which for the purposes of this paper will be defined as the entire human existence, physically, emotionally, and otherwise) in a more thorough way? Food is a prime example of how the slave labor camp, Buna, as told by Primo Levi in his memoir Survival in Auschwitz, attempted to dehumanize Levi. Levi begins with the journey (the literal one) at a camp in Italy where he is being held. It was announced by the Germans that Jews would be leaving the camp – destination unknown. Loaded onto buses, the crowds were taken to a train station where they boarded and were off. Levi recalls the discomfort of the train and accounts of others around him. Upon arrival, the men and women were separated, and soon thereafter Levi, unaware the same fate awaited him, first witnessed a prisoner. From entering the camp and onward, he is confused by the atrocities occurring around him. Levi goes through the motions of admittance, shower, tattoo, new uniform, barrack assignment and then began the long tortuous year, where his will was so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Indian Camp Analysis Kian Cato September 17, 2017 From fishing trip to the birth of a baby to an unexplained suicide, Nick has had a very interesting day. Indian Camp is centered around the main character Nick who is a young boy and his father is a doctor. From the short story "Indian Camp", by Ernest Hemingway, Nick experiences his first time seeing several things happening as graphic as child birth with C–section and suicide, things he had never seen before and had no idea that he was about to experience that in his life. From the reading, the young Indian seems reluctant to look at the episode head on however he was a good help to his dad. I also observed that Nick is not a tough person, that he is sensitive, passionate and caring. "Oh, daddy can't you give her something to make her stop screaming?" I think that Nick might have been too young to be experiencing such a grownup episode as childbirth and under the circumstance as a C–section and mortality. I also think that his father may have pushed this experience on him a little too soon. As it turns out Nick still too young to really process the idea of mortality and Nick's father had to explain to him a whole lot more than he expected to do. "He was looking away so as not to see what his father was doing." "Nick did not watch. His curiosity had been gone for a long time." Since I was 12 years old, I've been going to Wakeshma every summer for a week. This camp is so simple yet so fun and exciting. I'm driving to camp with William Fulton and our moms when we turn onto Camp Wakeshma Rd. and go under the huge sign reading the name. We arrive late to camp due to a baseball tournament, but we check in and put our belongings in the cabin. William and I say our goodbyes and go find the rest of our cabin. Afterwards we line up for dinner by the flagpole. Nobody could help but realize one of our cabin mates lost an arm due to cancer. At night when we get ready for bed I see him change his shirt revealing his scars. As I go to bed, I don't think much of it. Today is a drag. Every year I can never sleep good the first night and this year it's no different. We do our regular routine leading up to lunch and discuss more rules while standing at the flagpole. Tony, the camp unit leader called our cabin to go in first and we made our way into the cafeteria. I stood atop of the stage where our table sat and you could hear the doors whine as the hungry kids pass through. Everyone is restless and excited for the first full day of camp. • 18. Day Camp Reflection Paper Observation This summer I worked at Camp Cory as a Day Camp Coordinator. This experience came with many difficulties, one of the positives was working with counselors from other countries, including Spain, England, Brazil, Colombia, and Scotland. In my opinion, some of my best co– counselors were the international counselors. During the eight weeks I was there, I worked with four international co–counselors to facilitate a day camp group and worked closely with several others. Working with counselors from other countries, we shared our different values and learned about each other cultures. Even though we were from different backgrounds, we grew together, learn to work together despite our differences and became a family together. There were a few challenges that had to be worked through, one being a language barrier or in many cases an accent barrier. For some of the international workers, English was not their first language, or if it was, they had an accent that was difficult to understand. The language and accent barrier created miscommunication and funny conversations. There are many examples that I could write about, however my favorite and the one that impacted me the most has to be from week eight. I was working on inventorying the fused beads or the iron beads, with one of the international works from Brazil. We were counting the peg board or the thing that beads go on and then you iron, anyways we came to one that shaped like a dolphin and we got into a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This was how we started every year of Dixie Basketball Camp as we came together in the Southwest Mississippi Community College (SMCC) auditorium. It is hard to explain what the Dixie Basketball Camp is all about. Experiencing it is really the only way of knowing. Dixie teaches kids every year the value of hard work along with the fundamentals of basketball. The camp has a unique and special enthusiasm, filled with cheering and chants, many of which have continued for many years and have made Dixie one–of–a–kind. The General, Joe Dean Jr., has been running the camp for over twenty years. He inspires five hundred campers every year to work hard and sweat on the basketball court. Over the past eight years, he has served as a role model for me at the camp. Becky Fisher, the camp's leader, admits that society ought to indocrinate its children. The word "evangelical" means fervent or zealous. Becky Fisher furvently trains the children to develop a one–sided perception of the world so they can take back America for Christ. While all Evangelicals do not behave this way, the directors present a group of these individuals and what they live for. Jack 's task was going to be harder than the others, he was supposed to capture at least one of the snorpians alive for questioning. Right now he was in waiting mode, his forces were concealed in the woods between camp B and the snorpian 's main base. Camp B was where the pregnant females were being kept, Jack had no desire to rush in their with waving swords and have to fight his way through a multitude of abused females. Some slaves ran by from the direction of the main base and Jack let them pass by unmolested, maybe they would try to reinforce the main base and he could strike out at the snorpians when they passed by, enabling him to avoid direct contact with most of the females. Jack waited an hour and there was no sign that these snorpians had any intention of going to the aid of their fellows. He had no choice now he 's have to advance to camp B. He gave the necessary orders and his forces surrounded the camp. The females stood at the perimeter waiting for them with weapons poised, this was going exactly the way Jack didn 't want it to. While the Jews lived in this camp, they were tortured, mistreated, worked to death and eventually were put to death by either execution by firearm or were put into a death camp which exterminated the Jews using poison gas. The Nazi Party had developed many death camps in the central european area including the 6 death camps of Poland; Auschwitz, Treblinka, Belzec, Chelmno, Sobibor, and Majdanek. Little has been published on Chelmno due to its significance as the first extermination camp to become operational death camp. Chelmno concentration camp was established in November 1941 and was exclusively used for the executions of Soviet prisoners and Jews, most of whom were Polish. The extermination camp at Chelmno demands special attention, because during the German occupation only a very few people in Poland ever knew of its existence and the hundreds of thousands of its victims. Chelmno introduced the most deadly phase of the Holocaust. Its victims were from 36 communities in western Poland, along with 88 children from Czech town whose population was decimated as a collective reprisal for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in May of 1942. The facilities at Chelmno included three gas vans and two crematoria. Gassing at Chelmno began on December 8, 1941 just hours before Pearl Harbor was struck by Japanese planes. • 33. Personal Narrative Essay : My Family Camp I decided to write about my family camp, this camp is for special needs (like for my brother). In general that was the only the second overnight camp I've been to, so it was really fun. We did many activities like fishing, kayaking and much more. At that camp I met many of my old friends that been to that camp for the second time, we would have much a fun time together. In the afternoon we would go sailing fishing and do campfires. The worst part of this whole family camp is that we have to drive there. The drive was 3 hours long but it felt like forever, I felt like throwing up because I have motion sickness, we stopped a lot during the car ride for washroom breaks and to get candy. We finally arrived at the camp, some staff led us to our cabin (cabin loon), we then listened to "sell the sizzle" (what activities there are the next day, and we ate dinner. The next day I would see my friends that came last year. When the day started, we did the activities we chose. During break and bonding time my friends and I would do some fishing, sailing and swimming. Something ridiculous we would do is that we would ask the staff if we were allowed to flip the sailboat, and the staff would let us because they "knew for sure" it's not possible to flip. A reason we were allowed to do these things is because one of my friends is the son of the nurse working there. Back to the topic, every day when we went sailing, we would try to tip the boat over but only manage to get some water in. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everyone else was inside sleeping, so me and Xavier went around the camp to the area that were usually packed with people, that was the biggest benefit of getting up early, you got to do anything you wanted, except for the canoes which were not aloud until 12:00, for supervision reasons. We hurriedly ran to the wooden cave like house they called the story building, where we eagerly took out our devices we had been so patiently waiting to play, we cautiously looked out and saw no one. With the rule of no phones allowed, the mornings were the perfect time to play, with the supervisor not up yet. As for the camp itself, it was large and had many places to go and it was right next to a lake. There were multiple buildings such as the kitchen, the story room, the cabins and the gift shop. After about an hour we headed back right before people started to get up, no one knowing we had left the cabin. So while everyone got ready for the day we hid our cellphones and tablets under our clothes at the bottom of our bags, where no one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
