1. I MISS YOU
The heartbreak of moving on is
the core principle behind Ben
O’Sullivan’s second short film.
With very little diegetic sound,
impressive cinematography and
landscapes, the narrative
chronologically illustrates the
stages of young love – the first
meeting and the honeymoon stage to the constant bickering and the eventual
end of it – which is a good example of a film that follows it’s associated
conventions.
Furthermore, the combination of the blurring and focusing of the background
and objects, the narration alongside the montage of the 4 stages, acted by
[names] and [name], works effectively together to direct the audiences attention
which aids in grasping the meaning behind the film.
All in all, ‘I Miss You’ is a short boy meets girl film that is emotionally engaging
[aims to evoke powerful emotion from the audience.]
