My Views On Love Country Music
Often times I wonder what my thoughts look like scattered out on a sheet of paper. Do I ramble on? Am I in control? Does it depend on the topic?
Personally I think it mostly depends on the topic, because I honestly do not care about some of the topics that are driven into my head by family,
friends, or school. When given the choice of topic I could often ramble for hours and therefore my pen cannot keep pace with the rambling session
that is taking place in my head. I began with my broad topic; simply stating that I love country music. It made sense to use this topic. I could listen to
this music all day, everyday and still be standing upright. If you talk to most people in this school they would rather drop dead or beat their head of a
wall than have to listen to country for more than ten minutes. I then mentioned, how I am not always proud of the fact that I listen to this kind of
music. It is uncertain to me why I made this statement. I suppose this was just my natural thought process that goes along with listening to this music.
This hobby is not really a secret of mine, but I try not to run around pointing it out to anyone who would listen. I suppose that just has to do with my
personality. To follow that up, I described the emotional value I receive from country music. This concept is the biggest reason for me listening to
country music. No matter what song or artist is playing, the music always appears to throw me back into my typical mellow mood and often

Reflective Essay On Nelson Mandela
We can all guess of the South African freedom fighter, leader, peacemaker, humanitarian, and civil rights icon. The list of words to describe him is
endless and many times people refer to him as one of the most remarkable heroes of the 20th century. This renowned activist is Nelson Mandela. The
men whose name was well–know and glorious throughout my motherland. As I look back from that day, only one of his beliefs describes what ran
through my parents mind as they gathered their children to a foreign country that they had no knowledge about. The belief that has stuck to my
parents all these years from Mandela words of wisdom was "without education your children can never really meet the challenges they will face.
So it's very important to give children education and explain that they should play a role for their country." As we waited in the hunts of the only
hospital that was available for refugees in the Kanembwa refugee camp in Tanzania, all I could think of was not having to eat unsalted rice and
beans that was poorly prepared anymore, but also grateful at the same time to eat a dish that was only prepared on a special occasion. At that
moment, I could only see a small picture of what was about to take place and why my life was about to be changed forever.
Blinded, torn, and homesick was the word to describe the mood that filled the bus that took us to the airport. Suddenly, I felt a punch in my tummy as
the bus passed people with baskets on their heads and hunts that people lived in. My mind was filled with different thoughts. My innerself debated
whether things will ever be the same again. For example, I asked myself, "will I get to climb another mango tree when I reach to my destination?"
"Will this be the last time I get to set my eyes on the forest that surrounded my home?" "How will I get in touch with the friends I was leaving behind
especially my dearest older sister?" All these questions never crossed my mind through the whole process until I was taken to the airport with my
family to to the plane that would change my whole reality.
As we depart the bus, a gate guard runs towards us in order to lead us where we will be getting in the airplane. By this time, I decided to avoid my inner

Asked to Serve My Country
One afternoon in late November, after Thanksgiving Day. It was an
ordinary day I had my ordinary breakfast; a hard boil egg and an english muffin. As I read my newspaper "The Minnesota Times" about the murder
nearby. As I was getting into the reading about this murder. I thought to myself what it felt like to get shot. I said to myself "you wouldn't be
screaming or crying you would just have the pain and take it like a normal solider." I felt it in detail, I felt the dark thick red blood dripping down my
legs and all over my body, I felt pain.
I was a curious young man, I thought about the soldiers, who probably get shot every other week. I always knew they were courageous men. I
thought about my great grandfather, and how brave he was to go out to war, and fight for our country but I never wanted to go out to war that's when
I first started to think about how the war life might be like hard, easy, intense, scary, I don't know. I was about ten years of age I never had the thought
about war, until now. I knew the war was a horrible scene.
Eight years later that all changed, It was a regular day in little town Austin, Minnesota, I was finishing up lunch. Then grabbed the keys for my mail
box. When I walk outside towards the mail I felt butterflies in my stomach. I didn't understand why I kept think maybe it was something I ate. Then it
got worst I felt something was going to go wrong. Every step I took down each cemented stair I felt my hands becoming num, my arms becoming

Personal Narrative Essay
Three years ago on April, getting blessed, hugged and good bye, I found myself sitting in a crowded airplane's seat. Around me, the cheerful chatter
filled the cabin with excitement and anticipation. I was uncomfortable and tried to find most comfortable position for me to experience the 19 hours
flight to New York. For the first time in my life, my parents were sending me far from them, which they called home and this was mysterious country
for me. I didn't have too much information about the U.S, so I was nervous and sad because I was leaving my family to find the better future and was
travelling alone; thinking about the new place, new people and the new language that I should learn.
After 19 hours of flight, I was getting off the plane, I encountered many new things that was new for me. First thing was the Airport; it was bigger than
the airport that
I saw in my country. It has many terminals and many services; I wished to see the same in my country later in future. I was wondering about new
things that I will experience for the first time later in my life. I get a taxi to get to the place that my parents asserted me to go. I took a deep breath
and rang the doorbell. The heavy door opened accompanying a rush of festivity in the air. Then a little girl in braids, wearing a red, cotter padded
shirt and trousers appeared behind the door and stared up at me and suddenly she scream mommy daddy, there is stranger at the door. She was right. I

Country Music : My Home And My Family
The first aspect I think about when I listen to country music is my home and my family. Honestly, I think that is why most people love it so much,
especially in the Southeastern United States (U.S.). It also seems to me that it is so dear to the people of the South is because country music started
here. I read up on the history of country music, and what basically happened is that a bunch of Europeans immigrated to the United States and brought
their own styles and sounds with them. All of this mishmash gave birth to a whole new sound and lyrics that reflected the immigrant's new way of
life. I think that country music as of late has been categorized as either a bunch of hicks singing about their mothers, dogs, and ex's or as wannabe
pop singers, but in reality it is so much more. Country music has very deep roots and even though new country singers have deviated from the
traditional strain and sound of country music, I still believe that it is one of the better types of music. I reason that if someone grows up in the
South that they are more likely to choose country music over other kinds because it is what they grew up with and it is what they know. As someone
who grew up in the South I was predisposed to enjoy it simply because I have listened to it so much that many of my fondest memories are permeated
with the sounds of country music. Also when I listen to country music it reminds me of my family and their favorite country songs, or if it reminds me
of a relative

Dorothea Mackellar’s My Country Essay
MY COUNTRY: ANALYSIS Dorothea Mackellar's 'My Country' is a poem expressing Mackellar's deep passion and love for her country, Australia. The
whole poem's intention seems to evoke the sense of praising for the country and express Mackellar's deep relationship and passion with her land.
Mackellar attains this response from the audience by using numerous language techniques such as; Juxtaposition, personification, sound patterns
including alliteration and assonance, imagery, and paradox. The use of first person throughout the whole poem suggests that the theme of this poem
has been evoked by personal experience. Mackellar introduces the idea of Australia's distinctiveness firstly in the opening two stanzas, by juxtoposising

Imagery is used consistently right through the poem to evoke sensory experiences and to endorse the theme. For instance: 'A stark white ring–barked
forest'–'the sapphire misted mountains'–'the hot gold lush of noon' and many more. All of these appeal to the readers senses and places brilliant visual
image(s) in our minds by illuminating the various features of the country, from the perspective of the poems persona. This is attained using; adjectives,
'the sapphire–misted mountains¬¬¬', which gives us a picture of mountains with a bluish haze embracing it, this image would thus give an
impression of a composed environment and evoke a sense of tranquillity. Additionally by using 'sapphire' to illustrate the mist surrounding the
mountains we get a sense of Australia's uniqueness as sapphire is a rare gem. Imagery is also displayed through a metaphor used to appeal to the sense
of hearing. For example: 'the drumming of an army, the steady soaking rain'. Here Mackellar depicts the rain as an army and allows us not only to
visualize but get a sense of the sound of the rain, which is presented through the adjective 'drumming'. This line also presents to us the intensity of the
rain again through the adjectives 'drumming, steady and soaking'. We can presume from the numerous emphasized lines indicating Australia's
uniqueness, that the distinctiveness of Australia is the main reason for the persona's perplexing attachment and love for her country.

My Interest On The Host Country
В·What is your interest in the host country?
My interest in going to Spain is because I traveled there for a week during my senior year of high school and fell in love with the country and the city
of Barcelona. From the local's laid–back view of time with their Siestas, their way of taking to the time to enjoy the little things in life, and the perfect
weather, it wasn't hard to fall in love with the place. I am a huge soccer fan and Spain has two of the greatest teams in the world with the wildest fan
base in the world. I remember my brother telling me he got chills running down his spin the first time he went to a FC Barcelona home game, he told
me it was one of the greatest experiences he ever had. Another reason why I feel Spain would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

start my own trading firm and globalization is a huge part of trading. I need to know the ins and outs of the foreign markets and studying abroad will
increase my knowledge of how foreign countries do things. These days business is all about globalization and I wont be successful in globalization if
I don't get to see the world through with my own eyes.
В·If this program will extend your time at IU beyond the required credit hours (i.e., 120–122 credit hour undergraduate degree, 30–36 credit hour

It will not extend my time at IU.
В·Life in another country involves significantly different living situations, academic environments and social customs. What experience and skills do
you have that will help you cope with such differences?
As I said above, I have already traveled to Spain and actually spent the week living in my brother's apartment so I got to experience the living
situation first hand. It wasn't hard for me to adjust to living there at all because of my ability to adapt to my living situations with ease. Also, I spent
the week going out to see the different places, meet new people, and be in different social situations so I already know what it feels like to be in those
situations and I handled it

sad song and from the lyrics, I found that the performers mentioned their country has a flower of sadness and a pained heart. The first time, I listened

Personal Narrative: My Country Team
My country team was the Islamic Republic of Iran. When I started the simulation Iran had a lot going on. The relations with Saudi Arabia were going
very bad rather quickly for many reasons. One being: Iran is a predominately Shia and Saudi Arabia is predominately Sunni which is a big problem.
The second was the execution of a prominent Shia cleric Nimr al–Nimr, which was part of a larger mass execution in fact it was the largest in a quarter
century. The third reason is they are fighting a large scale proxy war in Yemen . this proxy war is being fought for regional power if the rebels were to

always responded that it was for defense of our nation only. Like I mentioned I tried to keep evil to a minimum. I soon found that in order for the
simulation to work I had to become Iran. So I completely turned around and did my best to cause chaos. First order of business was trying to
convince Russia to join in a military alliance or help us get a couple of cold war era aircraft carriers. This took a few class meeting because Russia was
very difficult to work with. They often changed their minds and were very indecisive on what our deal was. After almost the whole simulation we
finally made a deal. The deal called for us to give them a small percentage of our produced oil. For us to support the making of a Kurdish home state in
the borders of turkey and an apology for releasing the panama papers. The deal called for them to sell us more weapons food and discounted price for
the two carries. They also needed to continue aid in Syria and help us remove the USA sphere of

My Invented Country Analysis
One can imagine that every country is different with their own set of beliefs. Chile and Kuwait are in total different parts of the world but they both
have similarities. In Isabel Allende's My Invented Country and Randa Jarrar's A Map of Home the authors focus on the road map of their childhood.
Allende explains the basics of her culture, while Jarrar does too through the character of Nidali. Both women have seen and are aware that women
do not have the same power as a male. Nidali gets hit from her father if she does not do well in education. As for Allende, she explains how men are
machistas and the women are submissive. While Nidali is half–Egyptian and Palestine and Isabel is Chilean and I am Mexican American, we all share

The main reason she claims to love Chile is because of the stories her grandfather would tell her and her experience of travelling in the south
(Allende 111). She explains about the war, and how it impacted the whole country. She was able to travel and get to experience the differences. In
Chile she states how they do not talk the terms of "racism" rather they differ themselves according to the "class system" (Allende 34). She also states
how the upper class in Chile is relatively white. No matter where one goes in the world it appears as the lighter the skin the more advantages you will
have. Maybe it's a biased believe or an actual discriminatory truth. She loves Chile but at the same time she realizes she is not completely home she is
trying to find where home is for her. "In contrast with Europe, where long–haired hippies were a normal sight, student revolutions were brewing, and
the sexual liberation was being celebrated, Chile was boring; once again I felt like a foreigner." (Allende 130). The reason she feels like a foreigner and
ends up feeling the way she does was because she got the chance to experience other countries besides Chile. If the war had not happened and she did
not leave Chile at all she would feel like at home since she would not have any other

How Globalization Affects My Country
I will graduate this spring, after three years at Union College, and I am looking forward to extending and developing my academic interests in
international economics, which is the area of specialty I have concentrated on, in my coursework and research during my undergraduate study. With the
experience of growing up in China, I want to explore more about how globalization affects my country. I am currently working on my economics senior
thesis – using a macroeconometric model of the Chinese economy to examine how increasing consumption, as a ratio of GDP (C/Y), increases
China's real GDP in a series of short–run steps spread over a number of years. In particular, I am interested in extending my senior thesis to investigate
the possibility of duplicating China's rapid economic growth in other developing countries, especially in East Asian. My interest in International
Economics, led me to apply to the Seward Fellows program – an honors program at Union College – and as part of that program I designed an
independent theme minor to analyze China's trade. Since I applied to graduate one year early when I was a sophomore, I chose to compress my
two–term Seward project in six weeks in the summer of second year. My Seward project was to investigate the behaviors of the yuan–USD exchange
rate in the past ten years. After evaluating the growth rate of the ratio of China's foreign reserves over imports from 2005 to 2014, I noticed that the
year of 2009 was a turning point; before

My Country By Dorothea Mackellar Essay
My Country is a cherished, timeless poem by Dorothea Mackellar that clearly describes the Australian landscape. I am your host for today, Abbie
Jennings. Landscape is a significant part of identity and is important to Australians because of its diversity.
Dorothea Mackellar, author of the poem, My Country, "was born in 1885", and wrote My Country when she was 19 (B.Kingston, n.d). She grew up
with three brothers, a mother and a father. As a teenager, she 'travelled extensively with her parents' and as a result, she became homesick. While in
London with her father in 1904, Mackellar began writing what was to become her most famous poem. "On 5 September 1908 a poem, 'Core of My
Heart', which she had written about 1904, appeared in the London Spectator. It reappeared several times in Australia before being included as 'My ...

An example of this is exposed in the line, "of droughts and flooding rains". This labels Australia as harsh in times of droughts and changeable in the
wet season. Throughout this captivating poem, Dorothea uses the poetic technique of alliteration, such as "lithe lianas", "steady and soaking," and
"flood, fire and famine." Mackellar uses alliteration to accentuate the characteristics of Australian rural life and to generate the result that Australia is
occasionally harsh and unpredictable. Furthermore, she uses onomatopoeia in the poem, "drumming of an army." This creates a feel that soldiers are
marching to the beat of nature. The poet humanizes Australia by using words like "she" and "her". By doing this the reader feels that Australia is not
a dead piece of land but shares the similar characteristics to a person. My Country is a rhyming poem, fourteen stanzas in length. The introductory two
stanzas describe the British scenery, but this is not the country that Mackellar longs for. The genre is part of bushpoetry but does not express a

Nowadays, we can notice continuous problems in our country already; since, these are obviously seen in the news. The problems are mostly about the

repeatedly happening. Until now, there are no appropriate reasons on why these said problems are happening. Until now, I cannot see an effective
solution for them, especially if our own President is not efficient for his position to rule and fully change the status of our country. As I am

Descriptive Essay About My Country
New Nashville
Our city is called New Nashville, with a population of about 13,000. Our city is loosely based on Nashville, TN; so our climate is hot and humid, as
well as the geography being low and flat. We also have a river that goes through the the upper part of town. With the geography being so perfect for
parks, our economy is largely spent on parks for all ages, community centers, and other buildings that usually go into residential areas. Our city has a
very peculiar set up; where our commercial and residential are together, but our industrial buildings are as far away as possible. We decided to set it
up this way because we wanted to ensure that no pollution would harm our residents. Our residential and commercial areas consist of houses, shops,
religious centers, schools, libraries, parks, and entertainment places. Meanwhile, the industrial area is full of many successful companies, as well as
solar power buildings, water towers, and low–pollution garbage and sewage buildings.
The infrastructure in Nashville isn't what one would call the most unique at first; because we have the normal facilities that most cities have.
However, when you look closer, you'll discover that we have spent much money on police, hospitals, and fire stations; to ensure the safety of our
residents. After, we decided to add as many schools and ways of transportation as we could; to make sure our city's residents are educated and can
get around. Then we added the entertainment centers, like parks, malls, etc. The way we set up our infrastructure was very important for our city,
as we tried to make sure that the number one priority was safety. This took a large chunk out of our budget; but it greatly reduced our crime, fire,
and death rate; and brought up the schooling rates; we had to make sure that our residents were okay. In the end, taxes was low, people's needs were
filled, and everyone was very happy with New Nashville. However, not all people's needs were filled. The elderly population still goes through lots of
trouble everyday.
Our city will incorporate a variety of futuristic events. The first of which is a virtual reality display that is meant for elder people. Although this seems
a frivolous detail, it would in fact

Better to Betray My Country and Not My Friend
We as human beings all have choices. Many of the choices we make can affect us for the rest of our lives. Among the more important decisions a
person will ever have to face is that of betrayal. Often times we are in a situation in which we must chose sides: "Whom to betray?", and in this case,
the options are friend or country. I agree with E. M. Forster's view on personal relations and patriotism, believing that "I hope I should have the guts to
betray my country" (Forster) over my friend. A person should always– and one might even say has a duty to – place his conscience or the moral laws
he has set for himself over any conflicting manmade law. Many examples throughout history have set precedents for this sort of behavior.... Show more

Her intent was not to cause chaos. Her intent was not to disrespect Creon. She knew the only way her brother could receive respectful passage to an
afterlife was if he received proper burial. Her religious beliefs and strong love did not allow her to remain passive and not act to help her brother.
Antigone's moral standards obligated her to betray her country in order to help her brother. For these reasons, Antigone was justified in breaking the
law and betraying her country. There are, however, situations in which betraying one's country is unjustified. When a person or group violently and
disrespectfully breaks a law, such as the Weather Underground did in their protest of the lack of attention being given to the Vietnam War, their actions
are unjustified. Now let us distinguish between an unjust action and an unjust cause. The Weathermen were in my opinion morally justified to go
against the government and protest the war in Vietnam (obviously protest is very different than betrayal, but for the sake of an example ...). This was
their morally justified cause. By bombing buildings and bashing glass, they proceeded to act unjustly and were at fault. Nevertheless, the Weather
Underground was right in placing their personal beliefs over their country. The opposition might say that one's duty us to his country and not his own
selfish desires, and they may be partially right. If it was just a selfish desire such as wealth or fame,

History: My Country Of Origin Is America

My country of Origin is America. Fashion is one of the heartbeats of this country and America runs on it. I am from New York City and in New York
fashion is everything. Whether it's in the blogs or the newspapers the trending topic is always who's wearing what and what's new in fashion. America
and New York especially is perceived as being more financially well off than other countries. Fashion has always been a top priority for Americans.
Americans are very specific about what they wear and when they wear it. They are cautious of whether things are in or out of season and in or out of
trend. As oppose to another country like Italy, where I learned that in Italy the people are more care free about what they wear. They pick up anything...

Companies benefit from using sweatshops for manufacturing because it costs them less to make their products and they ultimately get to sell their
products for less which attracts more consumers. Potential threats that businesses can face while using sweatshops are that the buildings are normally
poorly constructed which causes the buildings to collapse and kill workers. Despite the hazardous conditions of sweatshops, workers benefit by making
3–5x than workers at other jobs in their economy. Sweatshops usually pay higher than other alternatives. Although they workers work long hours
under unsafe conditions, they are able to provide for their families. In Bangladesh 4.7 Million children work in sweatshops and at least half of
them have never been to school. This is a problem because children are left uneducated, and grow up with hopes to stay in a sweatshop with the
idea that that is their only alternative. Sweatshops are also dangerous, they are known for collapsing and being caught on fire with limited
resources to prevent these situations from occurring. Honestly none of us really know where our clothes are coming from but we buy them
anyway. I refuse to say that buying from sweat shops is unethical because if we wanted to go the route of eliminating all of the things that were
linked to unethical practices we would have to completely change our lives. Chicken for example are known to be raised in harmful conditions
pumped with hormones, caged together, and born to die, but we eat it every day. I believe that certain things are unavoidable for survival, and some
things we just can't control. I believe it's our duty to make good choices in our everyday lives with immediate things that we can control like for
example choosing to litter or not, and preserving water. Those everyday practices are what I call

My Life In The Country
My life in the country was simple; I did not have to work as a paperboy, my father was actually alive at that time, and I got to see my mother more
often. My life is very different now because of the war. It was November 11, 1918. School was canceled everywhere and the streets were crowded with
people of every race cheering. I was excited until I remembered my father playing baseball with me before the war even started. "Nice catch," he would
say as I snagged the pop–up. He enlisted right when the war began. Although Ma opposed it, his only desire was to help the country. We had no
choice but to leave our country life behind and move to the big city. Although I was dismal about leaving my friends in Tennessee, I was delighted
to experience the adventure New York brought. "Wow," I exclaimed as I observed all the different people passing. Buildings of all shapes and sizes
were around us. There were skyscrapers that appeared to have no visible boundary. I noticed a particularly strange building which was almost
completely flat. We arrived at the apartment we were going to stay in. I didn't announce it out loud, but I expect all of us were thinking of how
miniscule the living quarters were. One day came and went in the new home. There were innumerable things I enjoyed there, but it was boisterous and
jam–packed. The next day, I visited my school. There were a great deal more kids there than at my previous school. I made friends with two kids

The Night Of My Own Country Analysis
Achille Mbembe articulates how slavery results from a loss of home, loss of rights over one's body, and loss of one's political rights. This degrades
the person to only retaining the value of being a property whose master dictates their life. Yet, the plantation world they live in gives them an
alternative perspective that allows them stylize and adapt to a life possessed by another. Slavery takes away personal freedom and gives power over
someone's life to another, forcing a unique lifestyle that molds a person to be able to survive such a condition.

Throughout his time in prison Naz is exposed to violence, as both a victim and ultimately a perpetrator. Violence is also commonplace in the life
of a slave and as Mbembe states, is used to instill terror and establish authority. In addition to violence, Naz also morphs through drug use in prison.
In order to stay protected under Freddy and survive he takes and sneaks in drugs. These adaptations change Naz into someone that is much more
likely to commit a crime in the future. At the end of the show Naz is seen taking drugs at the river reminiscing about Andrea. He's sad shes gone
and she frowns realizing that the Naz she knew is now gone too. This cycle of people coming from prison struggling to return to normal lives
because of their adaptations in prison is reiterated with the guard at Rikers saying he sees some old faces. This allows a reevaluation of how slavery
molds slaves and future generations into more violent, impoverished people. Former slaves can try to rejoin society but because they are forced to

Dorothea Mackellar My Country Essay
"My Country" is a poem written by Dorothea Mackellar. The title of the poem indicates a close connection the author feels towards Australia. This is
contrasted to the people in England who are referred to as "yours", this creates a distance between the feelings that the author of the poem has for
England and feelings that are held closer for Australia. The author refers to England as "ordered" and Australia as "ragged", however, the author still
appears to love Australia more. Mackellar wrote this poem in 1908, a time when Australia was less valued than England. "The new true anthem" is a
poem written by Kevin Gilbert. The title itself is ironic, because an anthem is a patriotic song mentioning all of the positive aspects of a country,
whereas this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The words "new and true" indicate that the author of the poem feels that the anthem should be replaced with a new one. Both poems describe Australia.
While it is obvious that Gilbert's "The new true anthem" is about Australia, Mackellar's "My Country" doesn't explicitly mention it, making you work it
out, if you don't already know.
Dorothea Mackellar's poem does not use enjambment, as each line has a comma at the end. Mackellar uses metaphors to display Australia as a
valuable place. Jewellery implies value as they are precious and the value aspect links it to the landscape. The Jewel Sea, the sapphire misted
mountain, the gold rush of noon and the opal hearted country, all support the idea of value. Opals hold lots of value and the multi–coloured stones
reflect the multitude of all the colours mentioned in the first paragraph. The words Mackellar use sound romantic, "I love her jewel like sea", giving
the reader the ability to picture the image she produces in their head. She shows emotion using such words as "my country", "my heart". These words
represent her love and patriotism towards Australia. She also personifies the land, referring to Australia as 'her', which could

It is said that technology is turning our world into a global village, and this is true to some extent but even now if we move from one city to another,
one can feel the difference in language, culture, life style and many more.
In my case I moved thousand of miles from my country, Pakistan. The differences are unimaginable.
I was born in a very big house with 5 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens, big lawns in front and back, servant quarters and couple of servants
serving my family. This wasn't like this because we were filthy rich or millionaires. It simply portrays a middle class home in my country.
My grandmother was used to wake up before sunrise and opened all the windows and doors for fresh air, and for the voice of rooster. Then... Show

Education system is still 50 years old; in short it is right when they say Pakistan is one of the developing country.
One day my history professor was describing a common households in 18 century, where women use to wash cloths by hands, clean carpets by
beating them, cooking everything from scratch, only poor working women and girls from middle class waiting for their charming prince to come and
take them to their new houses, and how they stayed all day home doing house chores. It seemed as if he was describing my home in my country.
Even though technology is bringing major changes but culture has a powerful influence on our daily life and not very easy for us to let that go.
When I moved to New York, it was like moving to an entirely different time. It seemed as I stepped into a time machine and ended up fifty years ahead.
I could never imagine this much liberty, freedom and equal rights for women. I realized that we have choices, dreams and can make our own rules to
live. Undoable life becomes complicated and tiring, but physical fatigue is worth each and every minute of mental freedom. This whole thing gives
prospect to my life.
Although I miss my servants a lot but on the other hand house chores aren't that difficult as they are back home. Washing cloths, cooking, cleaning just
a couple of buttons on a machine and bingo, done!
But still now, I would like to go back and spend my life in my country, and try my best to bring

My Dream A Dream
A Dream
When i was born, my first thought was that if humanity was to take care of me, I should be obligated to take care of humanity. I've always wanted
to take care of everyone around me but sadly as time went by I realized that that would not be possible. I grew up with stories of my country, and
how its' own people would kill each other every day jus for the fun of it. I never understood why people found the death of others so amusing but
what I did understand was that I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to change the world ever since I was old enough to speak. I would always
watched out for others and defended those who could not defend themselves. To me, that's what life is about, helping this world become a better
place, even if you have to do it one person at a time. I left my country when I was five in search of a better home. My mother came to the U.S. a
year before I did, by the time I got sent over she was already settled down. I remember the first day, the night before had been a rough night, we didn't
sleep much, exhausted we made it to the United states. In the morning we arrived to my mothers house, It was Christmas Eve, as we walk in there was a
huge to in the living room. I had never seen one so big, at the center of it was a big Christmas tree and under it were tons of presents. Before that, I
didn't even know about Santa. I had no idea that on Christmas morning all the kids got presents. I was stoked to open all of them, one by one. I had

Dorothea Mackellar's Essay 'My Country'
Good morning/ afternoon Ms. Casey and class. This cherished poem "My Country" (1911) written by
Dorothea Mackellar evidently describes the Australian landscape, which signifies Australia's identity
in today's day and age. The poem's
intention IS TO evoke A sense of praise AND PRIDE for the country, AS WELL AS DEMONSTRATE
Mackellar's deep passion for her home land. Mackellar was a third generation Australian born in
1885 with her grandparents arriving in Sydney from Scotland in 1839. Mackellar wrote this poem at
aged twenty–two while she was living in England, missing her home country, Australia. Her poem "My
Country" earned her the respect of the Australian public in 1983; with a life size bronze statue of herself,
in Anzac Park, Gunnedah, New South ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with verses 15, 26, 36 and 43, this feminine affection and human
quality is carried throughout the poem. This technique enables Mackellar to clearly express her love and
passion of the identity of Australia's land.
In stanza 3, 4 and 5, Mackellar continues to paint a picture of the amazing land, Australia she misses
so dearly. In verse 25 and 35, Mackellar uses repetition of the line "Core of my heart, my country!" to
emphasis her personal connection to the land she loves. In verse 35, which reads; "For flood and fire
and famine" the uses of alliteration creates a sense of the cumulative and persistent hardship that the
Australian life can involve.
The use of a metaphor in the first line of the final stanza, which reads "An opal–hearted country", gives
the reader a clear picture of the magnificence of Australia's colours, from the sapphire mountains,
jewelled sea, and white ring barked forest to the ragged mountain ranges. Mackellar continues to
express her passion and love for Australia, in verse 46, 47 and 48, which read; "Wherever I

Graduation Speech : The United States With My Country
Something that was really hard for me was to come and study here in the US. What opened the doors to achieve this personal goal was the sport
that I play, basketball, thank to that I have a scholarship, and of course the support from my parents was one of the most important thing to get it
done. To get to study in the US for me it was a great achievement, because since childhood I wanted to do, always kept my goal in my mind and
insisted to get it, until one day I got it and did not hesitate to accept and challenge to myself. Obviously, I had to go through a very difficult and bumpy
process to achieve my goal, such as travel to another country to get a scholarship which can help me in the financial issue, as education comparing the
United States with my country (Paraguay) is much more expensive but it has its advantages. And it 's also more than clear that getting a degree here
has much more value in getting a job or presented for an important charge, because you consider that the person gets to speak other languages, and it
is now a crucial tool when doing business that can be international. First of all to leave my country, I had to get VISA, which already had because
years ago I had the opportunity to travel to the US for the first time in my life, then I had the VISA, which is a key to get out from the country, it was
not a very big deal. To obtain the visain my country, first is access to the website of the US Embassy and book an appointment for this, pay an amount

Leave My Country Satire
Leave My Country (Satire essay) Today, in america, there are different people in the world. It's mind blowing to realize how many people live
here. People come from different places, thus making them look different from others. People talk different and look different which is odd. I am
not a fan off so many people here, they take from us and steal from us. So today i'm here so say, leave my country. Look, I am not racist, i just want
you to leave. I was born here, and i am superior to you. We do so much for our country. You are all illegal and do nothing for our country. You take
our jobs that we don't want, and I don't like it. I hate that everyone tries to make an excuse for all of you. I am not saying that i'm perfect, but i am
compared to you. LIsten maybe you should just leave, hopefully soon. I hate how you do nothing but crime. I how you people are, you steal, rape,
bring drugs and all stuff i would never do. I mean, i sell my prescription pills to my neighbor, but it's nothing compared to you and your cartel. I
believe people should listen to trump, vote for him, and ignore all the dumb stuff he says. You all bully our people, you gang up on us. I know maybe

How do Mackellar and AD Hope use literary devices to convey their perspective of Australia?
Introduction
Mackellar and AD Hope use literary devices like imagery, personification and tone to convey their perspective of Australia. The Poem Australia by AD
Hope describes his negative opinion of Australia as he looks down on Australians way of life. Contrastingly, the poem My Country was written by
Dorothea Mackellar at age 19 in 1904. She wrote while she was homesick in England and she expresses her deep passion and love for Australia as she
compares the natural beauty of Australia to the landscape of Britain.

Mackellar and AD Hope utilize imagery to highlight their view of the Australian landscape.
Personification
Mackellar and AD Hope use the poetic technique of personification to express their perspective of Australia. In both poem the country of Australia
is personified and referred to as "her" and is given human qualities. By making Australia a 'her' the audience can see the tender and caring nature of
a woman in the good events, like rain that makes things grow, after the destruction, like fires. The audience can also associate the 'beauty' with that
of a woman. Some examples of personification are 'I love her far horizons' and 'all you have not loved her' (Mackellar, 1908). My Country uses
personification to help the audience understand the beauty and nature of Australia. AD Hope also gives Australia human qualities he refers to the land
as a women "they call her a young country'. Australia is Hope's criticism of general Australian society and the country itself. Australia is mentioned as
'women beyond her change in life, a breast still tender but within the womb is dry". He furthermore says that people may call Australia "a young
country, but they lie". Australia to him is the "last of lands, the emptiest" AD Hope is trying to express that
– "of droughts and flooding rains".
–This describes Australia as cruel in times of droughts and unpredictable in the rainy

My CBL Cross Country Race
Blistering heat, rushing adrenaline, and a lost voice are all ways to describe one example of a leadership experience that I had was during my
junior year at my second CBL Cross Country race. I remember that at this time, instead of putting in our top seven runners at this varsity race, we
actually instead put in our number eight through 14 runners on the team due to our coach playing a gamble and seeing if we could still possibly
win the League Championship while sitting out our top racers. The 7 gentlemen in the competition were very nervous and flustered, as they had
never been in a varsity level race before. You could tell that they were anxious, and while they did not know what to expect, they were ready. Instead
of sitting around and just letting them run the race, I actually instead gathered as many people as I could from our team, put them around the entire
course, and I believe I made these athletes cheer harder than they ever have for one another. You could tell from the looks on the 7 runner's faces as
they came speeding past us that our cheering was helping and motivating them with each and every step to push harder, go faster, and win for Yucaipa.

League. I believe the organizing of our team to cheer on our athletes as they worked harder than they ever have before was a strong leadership

My Home Country Saudi Arabia
Last summer, I was moving out of D.C. to my home country Saudi Arabia. Since selling furniture is cheaper than keeping it in storage, I decided
that I was going to leave my apartment and sell everything that I had, for the reason that I did not know if I was coming back to the U.S again or not.
I was not expecting that selling furniture is just a headache. People were not willing to pay, they just wanted to use you because they know that you
need to move out soon and get rid of your furniture. The process of me selling my furniture did generate a lot of emotions, especially anger and
disappointment. Emotions can affect the negotiations either in a positive or a negative way. Frustration, dissatisfaction and disappointment all of... Show

I agreed on selling both the bookshelf and the sofa bed for $450 when my initial offer was $400 for the sofa bed and $150 for the bookshelf. I

thinking of that a burden was getting off my shoulders, meaning that I would have less furniture to worry about. Anyway when the next day came,
he started to negotiate with me again with a ridiculous price this time. He told me that he can only afford the couch for $200. Honestly, I was so
mad and insulted that I did not respond to him. I had other offers on the sofa bed so I knew that I would not have a problem selling it. In Fisher's
book, he talks about how having a bottom line will affect the negotiation negatively in terms of that it will limit my imagination of thinking of
another options (Fisher, Urn & Patton, 2011). While I do agree with him on this point, in my situation I believe that having a bottom line helped me
not to surrender and accept an offer that is below my bottomline. At the same time did not stop me from thinking of other options. I reconsidered my
bottom line when I received a reasonable offer like the case with the guy who wanted to buy the sofa and the bookshelf. I did accept his original
offer even though it was lower than my bottom line, but it was a reasonable one to me. The other offer that I managed to sell the sofa with was from a

My Experience Of Moving To A New Country
Moving to a new house it's exciting but moving to a new country it's terrifying. That's how I felt when I moved here to the states, terrified. Entering

thing I've experienced because I couldn't just drive back to visit them. Even though I was only 12 when I moved from Venezuela, that journey has
helped me grow and have a better mindset. I get to see things differently and have a different look on life. I would say that it has definitely help me
transition from childhood to adulthood. Because moving with new people, learning a new culture and language is something special yet so stressing.

my husband has only limited two choices of either being with me by going back to my home country (knowing we 'll never be allowed to leave

and as a human being who has the fundamental right to be together with his family. Additionally, either choice will destroy our family completely both
psychological and financial aspects. Knowing that the 2–year–requirement of my government is not for 2 years, but forever. If I were to return back to

America, it is about the not so great things in America. It is not being rude or disrespectful at all, but funny as if he were joking around. For
example, in the beginning of the song, in the original version, the first of it goes "My country tis of thee. Sweet land of liberty.", but in this version,
he altered it to say "My country tis of thee. Sweet land of industry." Basing it off of all of the roads, buildings, skyscrapers, and the pollution

Dorothea Mackellar My Country
My Country by Dorothea Mackellar is a poem describing the love she has for the Australian country. My Country, begins with a resistant reading,
comparing Australia's harsh bush environment to the desired English country. She then goes on to say "My love is otherwise," referring to her love of
outback Australia. This poem describes the flaws and beauty of the Australian land.
'I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains..' refers to Australia's hot temperatures, and the dry landscape. It creates an image with the heat of
the sun shining on the dust covered plants. Through the use of personification, Mackellar writes about the Australian landscape, 'I love her far

When I picture the ideal society, it is everything that my homeland, Sweden, is not. Everything that I hate about Sweden, everything that makes me

just go to the ocean, lie on the beach with white, fine sand and coconut trees surrounding the premises. There are also many activities that keeps the
visitors entertained, which easily happens when you go to the beach everyday. There are bouncy castles in the ocean near the beach, you can go

My Country Assessment Of Syria
My country assessment of Syria contains much of the recent history, but I believe to truly understand what is happening today, we must understand
how historically Syrian politics, geopolitical regional experiences and culture has come into play in the world understanding of a proud, but fractured
Country. In this assessment I will tackle modern history, political and insurgent threats to the region and to the United States foreign missions as well
as short and long term analysis on the direction of the country and U.S. policies going forward.
Syria is one of the oldest civilizations in history, with art, written language, and religious activities dating back to the time of Mesopotamia. It has been
the dagger's edge in the Levant, splitting between western culture, and eastern religious ideology for the last two millennia. Significant religious acts in
religious lore such as Paul the apostle converting to Christianity on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1–43) also transpired in Syria. The country has been
conquered numerous times; the mix of art, religions, governments and culture have changed and left scars on the country. In this manner Syria is as
diverse of a place as many European cities at their' cultural height.
Modern Syria presents many challenges. President Basher Al Assad has ruled since 2000, and ruled with an iron fist. He has consistently put down
uprisings along the northern border with Turkey and western border with Lebanon. Separatist movements

parody from the influence of the previous poem. In this stanza there are very similar lines towards the original for e.g. 'A land of open drains ' to the

My Views On Love Country Music

  • 1. My Views On Love Country Music Often times I wonder what my thoughts look like scattered out on a sheet of paper. Do I ramble on? Am I in control? Does it depend on the topic? Personally I think it mostly depends on the topic, because I honestly do not care about some of the topics that are driven into my head by family, friends, or school. When given the choice of topic I could often ramble for hours and therefore my pen cannot keep pace with the rambling session that is taking place in my head. I began with my broad topic; simply stating that I love country music. It made sense to use this topic. I could listen to this music all day, everyday and still be standing upright. If you talk to most people in this school they would rather drop dead or beat their head of a wall than have to listen to country for more than ten minutes. I then mentioned, how I am not always proud of the fact that I listen to this kind of music. It is uncertain to me why I made this statement. I suppose this was just my natural thought process that goes along with listening to this music. This hobby is not really a secret of mine, but I try not to run around pointing it out to anyone who would listen. I suppose that just has to do with my personality. To follow that up, I described the emotional value I receive from country music. This concept is the biggest reason for me listening to country music. No matter what song or artist is playing, the music always appears to throw me back into my typical mellow mood and often ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Reflective Essay On Nelson Mandela We can all guess of the South African freedom fighter, leader, peacemaker, humanitarian, and civil rights icon. The list of words to describe him is endless and many times people refer to him as one of the most remarkable heroes of the 20th century. This renowned activist is Nelson Mandela. The men whose name was well–know and glorious throughout my motherland. As I look back from that day, only one of his beliefs describes what ran through my parents mind as they gathered their children to a foreign country that they had no knowledge about. The belief that has stuck to my parents all these years from Mandela words of wisdom was "without education your children can never really meet the challenges they will face. So it's very important to give children education and explain that they should play a role for their country." As we waited in the hunts of the only hospital that was available for refugees in the Kanembwa refugee camp in Tanzania, all I could think of was not having to eat unsalted rice and beans that was poorly prepared anymore, but also grateful at the same time to eat a dish that was only prepared on a special occasion. At that moment, I could only see a small picture of what was about to take place and why my life was about to be changed forever. Blinded, torn, and homesick was the word to describe the mood that filled the bus that took us to the airport. Suddenly, I felt a punch in my tummy as the bus passed people with baskets on their heads and hunts that people lived in. My mind was filled with different thoughts. My innerself debated whether things will ever be the same again. For example, I asked myself, "will I get to climb another mango tree when I reach to my destination?" "Will this be the last time I get to set my eyes on the forest that surrounded my home?" "How will I get in touch with the friends I was leaving behind especially my dearest older sister?" All these questions never crossed my mind through the whole process until I was taken to the airport with my family to to the plane that would change my whole reality. As we depart the bus, a gate guard runs towards us in order to lead us where we will be getting in the airplane. By this time, I decided to avoid my inner voice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Asked to Serve My Country One afternoon in late November, after Thanksgiving Day. It was an ordinary day I had my ordinary breakfast; a hard boil egg and an english muffin. As I read my newspaper "The Minnesota Times" about the murder nearby. As I was getting into the reading about this murder. I thought to myself what it felt like to get shot. I said to myself "you wouldn't be screaming or crying you would just have the pain and take it like a normal solider." I felt it in detail, I felt the dark thick red blood dripping down my legs and all over my body, I felt pain. I was a curious young man, I thought about the soldiers, who probably get shot every other week. I always knew they were courageous men. I thought about my great grandfather, and how brave he was to go out to war, and fight for our country but I never wanted to go out to war that's when I first started to think about how the war life might be like hard, easy, intense, scary, I don't know. I was about ten years of age I never had the thought about war, until now. I knew the war was a horrible scene. Eight years later that all changed, It was a regular day in little town Austin, Minnesota, I was finishing up lunch. Then grabbed the keys for my mail box. When I walk outside towards the mail I felt butterflies in my stomach. I didn't understand why I kept think maybe it was something I ate. Then it got worst I felt something was going to go wrong. Every step I took down each cemented stair I felt my hands becoming num, my arms becoming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Personal Narrative Essay Three years ago on April, getting blessed, hugged and good bye, I found myself sitting in a crowded airplane's seat. Around me, the cheerful chatter filled the cabin with excitement and anticipation. I was uncomfortable and tried to find most comfortable position for me to experience the 19 hours flight to New York. For the first time in my life, my parents were sending me far from them, which they called home and this was mysterious country for me. I didn't have too much information about the U.S, so I was nervous and sad because I was leaving my family to find the better future and was travelling alone; thinking about the new place, new people and the new language that I should learn. After 19 hours of flight, I was getting off the plane, I encountered many new things that was new for me. First thing was the Airport; it was bigger than the airport that I saw in my country. It has many terminals and many services; I wished to see the same in my country later in future. I was wondering about new things that I will experience for the first time later in my life. I get a taxi to get to the place that my parents asserted me to go. I took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. The heavy door opened accompanying a rush of festivity in the air. Then a little girl in braids, wearing a red, cotter padded shirt and trousers appeared behind the door and stared up at me and suddenly she scream mommy daddy, there is stranger at the door. She was right. I was a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Country Music : My Home And My Family The first aspect I think about when I listen to country music is my home and my family. Honestly, I think that is why most people love it so much, especially in the Southeastern United States (U.S.). It also seems to me that it is so dear to the people of the South is because country music started here. I read up on the history of country music, and what basically happened is that a bunch of Europeans immigrated to the United States and brought their own styles and sounds with them. All of this mishmash gave birth to a whole new sound and lyrics that reflected the immigrant's new way of life. I think that country music as of late has been categorized as either a bunch of hicks singing about their mothers, dogs, and ex's or as wannabe pop singers, but in reality it is so much more. Country music has very deep roots and even though new country singers have deviated from the traditional strain and sound of country music, I still believe that it is one of the better types of music. I reason that if someone grows up in the South that they are more likely to choose country music over other kinds because it is what they grew up with and it is what they know. As someone who grew up in the South I was predisposed to enjoy it simply because I have listened to it so much that many of my fondest memories are permeated with the sounds of country music. Also when I listen to country music it reminds me of my family and their favorite country songs, or if it reminds me of a relative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Dorothea Mackellar’s My Country Essay MY COUNTRY: ANALYSIS Dorothea Mackellar's 'My Country' is a poem expressing Mackellar's deep passion and love for her country, Australia. The whole poem's intention seems to evoke the sense of praising for the country and express Mackellar's deep relationship and passion with her land. Mackellar attains this response from the audience by using numerous language techniques such as; Juxtaposition, personification, sound patterns including alliteration and assonance, imagery, and paradox. The use of first person throughout the whole poem suggests that the theme of this poem has been evoked by personal experience. Mackellar introduces the idea of Australia's distinctiveness firstly in the opening two stanzas, by juxtoposising Australia's... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Imagery is used consistently right through the poem to evoke sensory experiences and to endorse the theme. For instance: 'A stark white ring–barked forest'–'the sapphire misted mountains'–'the hot gold lush of noon' and many more. All of these appeal to the readers senses and places brilliant visual image(s) in our minds by illuminating the various features of the country, from the perspective of the poems persona. This is attained using; adjectives, 'the sapphire–misted mountains¬¬¬', which gives us a picture of mountains with a bluish haze embracing it, this image would thus give an impression of a composed environment and evoke a sense of tranquillity. Additionally by using 'sapphire' to illustrate the mist surrounding the mountains we get a sense of Australia's uniqueness as sapphire is a rare gem. Imagery is also displayed through a metaphor used to appeal to the sense of hearing. For example: 'the drumming of an army, the steady soaking rain'. Here Mackellar depicts the rain as an army and allows us not only to visualize but get a sense of the sound of the rain, which is presented through the adjective 'drumming'. This line also presents to us the intensity of the rain again through the adjectives 'drumming, steady and soaking'. We can presume from the numerous emphasized lines indicating Australia's uniqueness, that the distinctiveness of Australia is the main reason for the persona's perplexing attachment and love for her country. ... • 7. My Interest On The Host Country В·What is your interest in the host country? My interest in going to Spain is because I traveled there for a week during my senior year of high school and fell in love with the country and the city of Barcelona. From the local's laid–back view of time with their Siestas, their way of taking to the time to enjoy the little things in life, and the perfect weather, it wasn't hard to fall in love with the place. I am a huge soccer fan and Spain has two of the greatest teams in the world with the wildest fan base in the world. I remember my brother telling me he got chills running down his spin the first time he went to a FC Barcelona home game, he told me it was one of the greatest experiences he ever had. Also, my lifelong goal has been to start my own trading firm and globalization is a huge part of trading. These days business is all about globalization and I wont be successful in globalization if I don't get to see the world through with my own eyes. It will not extend my time at IU. В·Life in another country involves significantly different living situations, academic environments and social customs. What experience and skills do you have that will help you cope with such differences? As I said above, I have already traveled to Spain and actually spent the week living in my brother's apartment so I got to experience the living situation first hand. It wasn't hard for me to adjust to living there at all because of my ability to adapt to my living situations with ease. Also, I spent the week going out to see the different places, meet new people, and be in different social situations so I already know what it feels like to be in those situations and I handled it ... • 8. This Is My Country Analysis "This is my country" is a nationalistic song where the performer used their praise of country to show people how they are proud to be a Mexican people. While listening to the vocalist's breath control, I felt that they did not need to hold a long breath to make high or long tone, which make me feel, it is a chest voice and more than falsete. Even though, the song is about how they are proud to be a Mexican. From their singing, I felt it is a sad song and from the lyrics, I found that the performers mentioned their country has a flower of sadness and a pained heart. The first time, I listened to this song, I remembered that, I heard this singing style before which it was hallelujah, where people sing in church, one of them that have a similar ... • 9. Personal Narrative: My Country Team My country team was the Islamic Republic of Iran. When I started the simulation Iran had a lot going on. The relations with Saudi Arabia were going very bad rather quickly for many reasons. One being: Iran is a predominately Shia and Saudi Arabia is predominately Sunni which is a big problem. The second was the execution of a prominent Shia cleric Nimr al–Nimr, which was part of a larger mass execution in fact it was the largest in a quarter century. The third reason is they are fighting a large scale proxy war in Yemen . this proxy war is being fought for regional power if the rebels were to win Iran has a puppet state under their control. As Iran I tried to keep the evil to a minimum for the first two simulations classes only talking when I was called out on my ballistic missiles tests. I always responded that it was for defense of our nation only. Like I mentioned I tried to keep evil to a minimum. I soon found that in order for the simulation to work I had to become Iran. So I completely turned around and did my best to cause chaos. First order of business was trying to convince Russia to join in a military alliance or help us get a couple of cold war era aircraft carriers. This took a few class meeting because Russia was very difficult to work with. They often changed their minds and were very indecisive on what our deal was. After almost the whole simulation we finally made a deal. The deal called for us to give them a small percentage of our produced oil. For us to support the making of a Kurdish home state in the borders of turkey and an apology for releasing the panama papers. The deal called for them to sell us more weapons food and discounted price for the two carries. They also needed to continue aid in Syria and help us remove the USA sphere of ... • 10. My Invented Country Analysis One can imagine that every country is different with their own set of beliefs. Chile and Kuwait are in total different parts of the world but they both have similarities. In Isabel Allende's My Invented Country and Randa Jarrar's A Map of Home the authors focus on the road map of their childhood. Allende explains the basics of her culture, while Jarrar does too through the character of Nidali. Both women have seen and are aware that women do not have the same power as a male. Nidali gets hit from her father if she does not do well in education. As for Allende, she explains how men are machistas and the women are submissive. While Nidali is half–Egyptian and Palestine and Isabel is Chilean and I am Mexican American, we all share the same struggle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main reason she claims to love Chile is because of the stories her grandfather would tell her and her experience of travelling in the south (Allende 111). She explains about the war, and how it impacted the whole country. She was able to travel and get to experience the differences. In Chile she states how they do not talk the terms of "racism" rather they differ themselves according to the "class system" (Allende 34). She also states how the upper class in Chile is relatively white. No matter where one goes in the world it appears as the lighter the skin the more advantages you will have. Maybe it's a biased believe or an actual discriminatory truth. She loves Chile but at the same time she realizes she is not completely home she is trying to find where home is for her. "In contrast with Europe, where long–haired hippies were a normal sight, student revolutions were brewing, and the sexual liberation was being celebrated, Chile was boring; once again I felt like a foreigner." (Allende 130). The reason she feels like a foreigner and ends up feeling the way she does was because she got the chance to experience other countries besides Chile. How Globalization Affects My Country I will graduate this spring, after three years at Union College, and I am looking forward to extending and developing my academic interests in international economics, which is the area of specialty I have concentrated on, in my coursework and research during my undergraduate study. With the experience of growing up in China, I want to explore more about how globalization affects my country. I am currently working on my economics senior thesis – using a macroeconometric model of the Chinese economy to examine how increasing consumption, as a ratio of GDP (C/Y), increases China's real GDP in a series of short–run steps spread over a number of years. In particular, I am interested in extending my senior thesis to investigate the possibility of duplicating China's rapid economic growth in other developing countries, especially in East Asian. My interest in International Economics, led me to apply to the Seward Fellows program – an honors program at Union College – and as part of that program I designed an independent theme minor to analyze China's trade. Since I applied to graduate one year early when I was a sophomore, I chose to compress my two–term Seward project in six weeks in the summer of second year. My Seward project was to investigate the behaviors of the yuan–USD exchange rate in the past ten years. After evaluating the growth rate of the ratio of China's foreign reserves over imports from 2005 to 2014, I noticed that the year of 2009 was a turning point; before ... • 12. My Country By Dorothea Mackellar Essay My Country is a cherished, timeless poem by Dorothea Mackellar that clearly describes the Australian landscape. I am your host for today, Abbie Jennings. Landscape is a significant part of identity and is important to Australians because of its diversity. Dorothea Mackellar, author of the poem, My Country, "was born in 1885", and wrote My Country when she was 19 (B.Kingston, n.d). She grew up with three brothers, a mother and a father. As a teenager, she 'travelled extensively with her parents' and as a result, she became homesick. While in London with her father in 1904, Mackellar began writing what was to become her most famous poem. "On 5 September 1908 a poem, 'Core of My Heart', which she had written about 1904, appeared in the London Spectator. It reappeared several times in Australia before being included as 'My ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this is exposed in the line, "of droughts and flooding rains". This labels Australia as harsh in times of droughts and changeable in the wet season. Throughout this captivating poem, Dorothea uses the poetic technique of alliteration, such as "lithe lianas", "steady and soaking," and "flood, fire and famine." Mackellar uses alliteration to accentuate the characteristics of Australian rural life and to generate the result that Australia is occasionally harsh and unpredictable. Furthermore, she uses onomatopoeia in the poem, "drumming of an army." This creates a feel that soldiers are marching to the beat of nature. The poet humanizes Australia by using words like "she" and "her". By doing this the reader feels that Australia is not a dead piece of land but shares the similar characteristics to a person. My Country is a rhyming poem, fourteen stanzas in length. The introductory two stanzas describe the British scenery, but this is not the country that Mackellar longs for. The genre is part of bushpoetry but does not express a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Descriptive Essay About My Country New Nashville Our city is called New Nashville, with a population of about 13,000. Our city is loosely based on Nashville, TN; so our climate is hot and humid, as well as the geography being low and flat. We also have a river that goes through the the upper part of town. With the geography being so perfect for parks, our economy is largely spent on parks for all ages, community centers, and other buildings that usually go into residential areas. Our city has a very peculiar set up; where our commercial and residential are together, but our industrial buildings are as far away as possible. We decided to set it up this way because we wanted to ensure that no pollution would harm our residents. Our residential and commercial areas consist of houses, shops, religious centers, schools, libraries, parks, and entertainment places. Meanwhile, the industrial area is full of many successful companies, as well as solar power buildings, water towers, and low–pollution garbage and sewage buildings. The infrastructure in Nashville isn't what one would call the most unique at first; because we have the normal facilities that most cities have. However, when you look closer, you'll discover that we have spent much money on police, hospitals, and fire stations; to ensure the safety of our residents. After, we decided to add as many schools and ways of transportation as we could; to make sure our city's residents are educated and can get around. Then we added the entertainment centers, like parks, malls, etc. The way we set up our infrastructure was very important for our city, as we tried to make sure that the number one priority was safety. This took a large chunk out of our budget; but it greatly reduced our crime, fire, and death rate; and brought up the schooling rates; we had to make sure that our residents were okay. In the end, taxes was low, people's needs were filled, and everyone was very happy with New Nashville. However, not all people's needs were filled. The elderly population still goes through lots of trouble everyday. Our city will incorporate a variety of futuristic events. The first of which is a virtual reality display that is meant for elder people. Although this seems a frivolous detail, it would in fact ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Better to Betray My Country and Not My Friend We as human beings all have choices. Many of the choices we make can affect us for the rest of our lives. Among the more important decisions a person will ever have to face is that of betrayal. Often times we are in a situation in which we must chose sides: "Whom to betray?", and in this case, the options are friend or country. I agree with E. M. Forster's view on personal relations and patriotism, believing that "I hope I should have the guts to betray my country" (Forster) over my friend. A person should always– and one might even say has a duty to – place his conscience or the moral laws he has set for himself over any conflicting manmade law. Many examples throughout history have set precedents for this sort of behavior.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her intent was not to cause chaos. Her intent was not to disrespect Creon. She knew the only way her brother could receive respectful passage to an afterlife was if he received proper burial. Her religious beliefs and strong love did not allow her to remain passive and not act to help her brother. Antigone's moral standards obligated her to betray her country in order to help her brother. For these reasons, Antigone was justified in breaking the law and betraying her country. There are, however, situations in which betraying one's country is unjustified. When a person or group violently and disrespectfully breaks a law, such as the Weather Underground did in their protest of the lack of attention being given to the Vietnam War, their actions are unjustified. Now let us distinguish between an unjust action and an unjust cause. The Weathermen were in my opinion morally justified to go against the government and protest the war in Vietnam (obviously protest is very different than betrayal, but for the sake of an example ...). This was their morally justified cause. By bombing buildings and bashing glass, they proceeded to act unjustly and were at fault. Nevertheless, the Weather Underground was right in placing their personal beliefs over their country. The opposition might say that one's duty us to his country and not his own selfish desires, and they may be partially right. If it was just a selfish desire such as wealth or fame, ... I am from New York City and in New York fashion is everything. Whether it's in the blogs or the newspapers the trending topic is always who's wearing what and what's new in fashion. America and New York especially is perceived as being more financially well off than other countries. Fashion has always been a top priority for Americans. Americans are very specific about what they wear and when they wear it. They are cautious of whether things are in or out of season and in or out of trend. Companies benefit from using sweatshops for manufacturing because it costs them less to make their products and they ultimately get to sell their products for less which attracts more consumers. Potential threats that businesses can face while using sweatshops are that the buildings are normally poorly constructed which causes the buildings to collapse and kill workers. Despite the hazardous conditions of sweatshops, workers benefit by making 3–5x than workers at other jobs in their economy. Sweatshops usually pay higher than other alternatives. Although they workers work long hours under unsafe conditions, they are able to provide for their families. In Bangladesh 4.7 Million children work in sweatshops and at least half of them have never been to school. This is a problem because children are left uneducated, and grow up with hopes to stay in a sweatshop with the idea that that is their only alternative. Sweatshops are also dangerous, they are known for collapsing and being caught on fire with limited resources to prevent these situations from occurring. Honestly none of us really know where our clothes are coming from but we buy them anyway. I refuse to say that buying from sweat shops is unethical because if we wanted to go the route of eliminating all of the things that were linked to unethical practices we would have to completely change our lives. I believe that certain things are unavoidable for survival, and some things we just can't control. My life is very different now because of the war. It was November 11, 1918. School was canceled everywhere and the streets were crowded with people of every race cheering. I was excited until I remembered my father playing baseball with me before the war even started. "Nice catch," he would say as I snagged the pop–up. He enlisted right when the war began. Although Ma opposed it, his only desire was to help the country. We had no choice but to leave our country life behind and move to the big city. Although I was dismal about leaving my friends in Tennessee, I was delighted to experience the adventure New York brought. "Wow," I exclaimed as I observed all the different people passing. Buildings of all shapes and sizes were around us. There were skyscrapers that appeared to have no visible boundary. I noticed a particularly strange building which was almost completely flat. We arrived at the apartment we were going to stay in. I didn't announce it out loud, but I expect all of us were thinking of how miniscule the living quarters were. This is contrasted to the people in England who are referred to as "yours", this creates a distance between the feelings that the author of the poem has for England and feelings that are held closer for Australia. The author refers to England as "ordered" and Australia as "ragged", however, the author still appears to love Australia more. The Jewel Sea, the sapphire misted mountain, the gold rush of noon and the opal hearted country, all support the idea of value. By making Australia a 'her' the audience can see the tender and caring nature of a woman in the good events, like rain that makes things grow, after the destruction, like fires. The audience can also associate the 'beauty' with that of a woman. Some examples of personification are 'I love her far horizons' and 'all you have not loved her' (Mackellar, 1908). Entering unknown land without knowing a sense of English can be very overwhelming at a young age. Leaving my family was definitely one of the hardest thing I've experienced because I couldn't just drive back to visit them. Even though I was only 12 when I moved from Venezuela, that journey has helped me grow and have a better mindset. I get to see things differently and have a different look on life. I would say that it has definitely help me transition from childhood to adulthood. Because moving with new people, learning a new culture and language is something special yet so stressing. At times I find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Thank You Very Much For Your Reply And Being Thank you very much for your reply and being so understanding of my situation. Thanks for reading my long email. (I just wanted to give all the facts as precise as possible.) Yep, understand. And, sorry to hear about your having health problems. 1. I have my recent DS2019 at home in NY that I can scan it to you on Friday night after I got home. In my laptop, I have with me here the old version of it. (The only difference is that the most recent one has an Academic Training on the side (in box 5) showing a place and the date of AT. Please see my DS2019 in the attachment. 2. To your questions, though I 'm not an expert, but I think we met the 'Exceptional hardship ' criteria (and hope I can put it well enough here) because my husband has only limited two choices of either being with me by going back to my home country (knowing we 'll never be allowed to leave again) or being without me (forever) by staying here in the US. Either choice violates his rights as a US citizen who has the right to reside in the US and as a human being who has the fundamental right to be together with his family. Additionally, either choice will destroy our family completely both psychological and financial aspects. Knowing that the 2–year–requirement of my government is not for 2 years, but forever. If I were to return back to my country, my country will never allow me to go out of the country ever again and that is not only detrimental to his psychology but also his physical health and ... • 33. My Kind Of Country Randy Houser In the song "My Kind Of Country" by Randy Houser he sang about being yourself and to not change yourself because of other people. It tells you not not to change because of what other people think about you. He stays the same by staying where he is and staying himself. He calls his town his kind of country saying that he is comfortable where he is and how he is. The song is basically saying that as long as you're happy you shouldn't change who you are because people don't have to be you only you have to be you. Randy uses literary devices to help move the message along. The theme is persuaded using many different literary devices. Firstly Randy houser uses "Turn the bar into an all night love shack" These lyrics use hyperbole. He can't physically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Nahko My Country Analysis The song that I choose is called "My Country" by Nahko and medicine for the people. This song makes me laugh and makes me think if I listen carefully to the lyrics. It is a very similar to the song "My country tis of thee", although in this version, instead of it being about the great thing in America, it is about the not so great things in America. It is not being rude or disrespectful at all, but funny as if he were joking around. For example, in the beginning of the song, in the original version, the first of it goes "My country tis of thee. Sweet land of liberty.", but in this version, he altered it to say "My country tis of thee. Sweet land of industry." Basing it off of all of the roads, buildings, skyscrapers, and the pollution ... • 35. Dancing By Eudora Welty: A Summary A revolt formed amongst the men who had returned from a scorching day of tarring a roof. Juan Felipe commented out loud, "Dios nos mando la loteria. (God has sent us the lottery!)" Angel Gabriel kneeled on the floor as if to pray, "No tener que trabajar mas en este pais es una bendicion." (To not have to work any no longer in this country is a blessing.) Segundo Manuel licked his teeth like a hungry lion waiting in the den, savoring his food, "Yo me templo la gordita sin problema! De verdad que quiere esto para su eternidad? Pues el desitino va pa' ya!" (I will fuck the fatty without a problem. If for real she wants this for all eternity? Well, her destiny is on his way!). Segundo thought something did not add up correctly, "Is this the same building the ex–boyfriend and mother–in–law live?" Luna said, "Yes, they are renters!" Segundo's body language said more than his words. He opened his eyes and drew back his head right before demanding, "Luna, I am a man! I will not live in the same building as him. I cannot leave you with the thirty–six year old temptation upstairs. Which is like leaving me with strippers. I will not allow you to visit unaccompanied either. You must provide a home for us. Then tell me a week in advance when we will be visiting your family's building." Luna rebutted, "Jealous, and you don't even love me! My family lives there, if you are not paying for the roof than what do you care where it is?" Segundo feeling like he was taunted, "We are not in love, but you won't make a fool of me. You cannot cheat on me, even if you maintain me for the rest of your life. I already said, if you want to bring girlfriends to bed, I will do you both the honors. • 36. Dorothea Mackellar My Country My Country by Dorothea Mackellar is a poem describing the love she has for the Australian country. My Country, begins with a resistant reading, comparing Australia's harsh bush environment to the desired English country. She then goes on to say "My love is otherwise," referring to her love of outback Australia. This poem describes the flaws and beauty of the Australian land. 'I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains..' refers to Australia's hot temperatures, and the dry landscape. It creates an image with the heat of the sun shining on the dust covered plants. Through the use of personification, Mackellar writes about the Australian landscape, 'I love her far horizons, I love her jewel sea.' As in all places of the world, there ... As O'Brien goes through specifics, as only a G.I. would; so does Turner. His style, though more modern, is very military detailed; orderly and thorough. It is clear that he had thought about this same scenario for himself. He reviews the possible scenario while resting in his bunk. This, typically means that he is viewing the scenario as his own, as it is on his own private time; in the most susceptible of places. Turner is worried about his own mortality and family. After the death of Miller his own mortality becomes a glaring thought in his mind. He thinks about what all men think about. "How much longer do I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. What Is My Ideal Country Essay When I picture the ideal society, it is everything that my homeland, Sweden, is not. Everything that I hate about Sweden, everything that makes me dislike this country, does not exist there at all. In the land of my dreams, the weather is warm and the sun is shining at all times. On the days where the sun shines too bright, you can go for a swim in the turquoise ocean to cool off. That is mainly what I would like to do after long days of work, just go to the ocean, lie on the beach with white, fine sand and coconut trees surrounding the premises. There are also many activities that keeps the visitors entertained, which easily happens when you go to the beach everyday. There are bouncy castles in the ocean near the beach, you can go surfing, snorkelling to check out the magnificent sea life and you can also rent a luxurious boat for as long as you want for a vacation on the sea. That really makes it easy to keep life constantly interesting. One activity that probably is my favorite one, is to discover all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But it is better living in a small city than a big city because you do not have problems with traffic, pollutions and others problems of big cities. Finally, I would like to say about the foods and the schedule of the meals here, it is so different from my country. • 40. My Country Assessment Of Syria My country assessment of Syria contains much of the recent history, but I believe to truly understand what is happening today, we must understand how historically Syrian politics, geopolitical regional experiences and culture has come into play in the world understanding of a proud, but fractured Country. In this assessment I will tackle modern history, political and insurgent threats to the region and to the United States foreign missions as well as short and long term analysis on the direction of the country and U.S. policies going forward. Syria is one of the oldest civilizations in history, with art, written language, and religious activities dating back to the time of Mesopotamia. It has been the dagger's edge in the Levant, splitting between western culture, and eastern religious ideology for the last two millennia. Significant religious acts in religious lore such as Paul the apostle converting to Christianity on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:1–43) also transpired in Syria. The country has been conquered numerous times; the mix of art, religions, governments and culture have changed and left scars on the country. In this manner Syria is as diverse of a place as many European cities at their' cultural height. Modern Syria presents many challenges. President Basher Al Assad has ruled since 2000, and ruled with an iron fist. He has consistently put down uprisings along the northern border with Turkey and western border with Lebanon. Analysis of the poem 'My Country' by Oscar Krahnvohl Stanza One: Starts with 'I love a sunburnt country ', which is the exact wording of the second stanza in the original poem by Dorothea Mackellar. This particular stanza (from the original) is the most oem by Oscar Krahnvohl like environmental issues, humanity issues, cultural issues and politicwell–known, and by Oscar starting with this particular line, he exposes the brilliance of the previous poem, but the next few lines start as a parody from the influence of the previous poem. In this stanza there are very similar lines towards the original for e.g. 'A land of open drains ' to the original 'A land of sweeping plains '.
