Black Spider Monkey Research Paper
Ateles paniscus
A.K.A Black Spider Monkey According to Primate Info Net, there are seven species of spider monkeys recognized with the Black Spider Monkey
included. The Black Spider Monkey is the largest of them all. These adorable monkeys have long, shiny black hair covering their bodies, except for
the face, which is red or pink. One thing that makes these monkeys stand out against other monkeys is their long, prehensile (defined as "capable of
grasping") tails. With this fifth limb, they have more stability when resting in trees and grasping branches. For extra ease in swinging through the
trees, they have an extra mobile shoulder joint. These monkeys are large, but with a slender frame, a "pot belly" and spidery limbs (which is where
their name comes from). Male spider monkeys are typically 52–58 cm in length, with their tail can grow to be as long as 72–85 cm by itself. Females
are usually 49–62 cm with a tail length of 64–93 cm long. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are usually found in moist tropical evergreen forests (usually about 78.3В°F) specifically in the Amazon Rainforest. They are usually found in
Brazil, French, Guiana, Guyana, and Suriname, with a small group found in Peru and Bolivia. The Amazon Rainforest is an extremely humid
environment with a large amount of rainfall. It is massively biodiverse, with around 80,000 species of plants found there. Common plants found are
called epiphytes (they can grow on other plants instead of the ground), vines and palms. The species, spider monkeys, love the canopy life. Meaning,
that they like to stay in the upper part of the canopy and are rarely seen in the understory or on the

Color Vision in Spider Monkeys
Objective:
To determine the color vision abilities of four individual spider monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi). Certain New World monkeys, such as spider monkeys,
vary in the types of color they can see. Furthermore, the color vision abilities of these monkeys vary among individuals due to the differing genetics of
males, who have dichromatic vision and certain females who have trichromatic vision similar to humans (Regan et al., 2005). Additionally, only one
behavioral study has been conducted with spider monkeys to test their color vision abilities (Ateles fusciceps and Ateles belzebuth; Blakeslee &
Jacobs, 1982). However, with a sample size of only two spider monkeys who were a different species than the spider monkeys housed at the zoo, this
research should be reinvestigated. Ultimately, the implications of the study will give us more insight into spider monkey color vision and increase
opportunities for improved environmental enrichment for animals based on their individual color abilities.
Procedure: We will use a match–to sample paradigm to test color vision. In the match–to sample paradigm, animals are presented with a ... Show more

Initially, the animal will not be asked to discriminate between two boxes, but rather just touch the only box presented to them after the delay. Once
the animal learns touching the box presented to them after the delay leads to reinforcement, we will begin to present two boxes of differing color to
the animals. In order to gain reinforcement at this stage of training, the animal must be able to correctly discriminate color based on the sample they
just previously saw. Due to an absence of other studies to access information from, I am uncertain of how many sessions it will take before this

The Monkey's Paw And Tell Tale Heart Analysis
"Sometimes painful things can teach us lesson we didn't think we needed to know." This is an example of the stories; The Monkey's Paw and
Tell–Tale Heart. The story, The Monkey's Paw, tells you about an old friend of Mr. White coming to visit him and his family. He shows them the
monkey's paw and tells them that it can grant you three wishes. They take it even though the friend warns them not to and the results aren't what they
expected. The story, Tell–Tale Heart, tells you about the narrator who is plotting to kill an old man with the "vulture eye". The narrator doesn't realize
that what he's done will cost him. Although The Monkey's Paw and Tell–Tale Heart stories may be different, they are also very similar In both the
stories I have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story says, "–I made up my mind to take the life of the old man and thus rid myself of the eye forever." The author is giving readers what the
narrator will exactly do by the end of the story. While reading both stories, I saw that the authors wrote a lot of irony, the opposite of what will
happen in a story. When Mr. White makes a wish from the monkey' paw, he wishes for 200 pounds. The consequences of the Whites' family getting
200 pounds was Herbert dying. This is an example example of situational irony, the situation turns out to be the opposite of what you thought it would
be, because while the readers thought the money was going to drop out of the sky, the whole other outcome was different. In the beginning of Tell–Tale
Heart, the narrator said, 'I loved the old man. He had never wronged me." This is an example of verbal irony, you say one thing but really mean the
opposite, because he said he loved him, but meant the opposite because he killed the old man. The authors of both stories, last but not leastly, use
suspenseful moods, the feeling that the story creates within the reader, and dangerous/mysterious tones, an author's attitude toward the subject or
audience of the story, throughout the story. In The Monkey's Paw, the author says, "...The clock tick.s. A chair creaks. Finally, a quiet knock is heard.
Mrs. White jumps up." This is an example of a suspenseful mood and mysterious tone. In the

Primates Observation: Spider Monkey and Sifaka Essay
I chose to study the behaviors of the Spider monkey and the Sifaka. I chose them for a few reasons, one being that Spider monkeys are incredibly
adorable and two Sifaka's remind me of a childhood television show, Zoboomafoo. These two primate groups also struck my attention in class, so
this project was a perfect opportunity to dig a little deeper. The behaviors I chose to observe were social interactions and locomotion. The biggest
differences I noticed between the two primates were that the Spider monkeys have the prehensile tails and without exerting extra energy is able to
engage in a few common locomotion patterns such as quadrupedal, suspensory and bipedalisim. Where as Sifaka's lack a tail, and remain upright at all
times, and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first video I watched, there were two monkeys up in a tree hugging. Monkey 2 continued to embrace monkey 1 by wrapping their arms around
the other. The whole time this was happening, both monkeys were making calls that sounded like squeaking–turkey gobble– vibration type noises.
They follow each other around from branch to branch, shaking the branches and jumping simultaneously. They play in the same fashion that little
(human) kids do. In the second video, a male and female monkey are at a habitat at the zoo. The male monkey keeps 'petting' the female monkey
suggestively, and doesn't really care that there is an audience. They keep holding and touching each other's shoulders as though something is wrong,
just as a human would do. The male monkey also keeps trying to get the female to stand up, she is very docile the entire time and at this point she
rolls over onto her back–– he continues to grab her shoulder and keeps pointing upwards, probably to a more appropriate mating place. I literally felt
like I was watching a drunk freshman girl getting taken advantage of by a frat boy at her first college party, these primates are a lot like humans. In
the third and fourth video, monkey's sit in peace as they eat, two of the monkeys have babies hanging on their backs. One of the smaller, I'm assuming
baby monkeys keeps hanging halfway over their mother's shoulder to check out what she is eating– I am curious as to why the babies are not

Color Vision Of Spider Monkeys
The researchers will conduct match to sample behavioral experiments to assess color vision of spider monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi; n=4). The animals'
abilities to discriminate two test apparatus of varying color (red, green, and blue) and their abilities to correctly choose the sample that matches the
original color will be tested. Additionally, the gender link component in color perception of primates will be analyzed by testing both sexes of
monkeys. Ultimately, if the animal is able to match at rate greater than that of chance, each monkeys' individual color vision will be detectible. The
limitations of this study is the young age of one of the monkeys. Future studies could run the same experiment with other species of New World
monkeys. Keywords: spider monkey, color vision
Color vision is an evolutionary trait that provides primates with significant reproductive and survival value (Gomes, Pessoa, Suganuma, Tomaz, &
Pessoa, 2002). Fascinatingly, humans and apes share over 99% of their genetic makeup (Wildman, Uddin, Liu, Grossman, & Goodman, 2003).
However, the quantity and quality of color vision varies within and between species in the primate world. Primates are divided into two groups, the
Old World and the New World. The New World primates are located in the rainforests of South America and surrounding areas, while the Old World
primates are from the tropical areas of Africa and Asia (Regan et al., 2005). The vast range of geographical locations inhabited by

The Monkey At My Car Window
The Monkey at My Car Window is a story about a situation that occurred with a monkey and two businessmen on a woman's journey to the Taj Mahal.
This story teaches us about India's culture, both urban and rural, monkey's roles in Indian society, and how with a business mindset there is always an
opportunity for a business venture.
There are many clues into how Indian society runs in this story. These cultural clues come from this story and they come from various aspects. There
are cultural clues from Hinduism mythology and from first–hand accounts of Ms. Kralijevic's journey to the Taj Mahal. The cultural context of India
and its citizens that stems from Hindu mythology stem from how monkeys are perceived. 'The monkey army commander ... Show more content on

I have been in a situation where a man approached me at a Cabelas (sporting goods store) and we were talking about guns. This man said I was a
very charismatic individual and he would like to talk to me about a job opportunity. To make a long story short, this man was trying to sell me on a
pyramid scheme. I told the man I would have to think his offer over and never called the man back. He tried to contact me many times, and I ignored
his calls and text messages until he finally stopped perusing the business venture. It was a cowardly way of dealing with the situation, but it worked.
I would definitely visit the countryside in different countries looking for business. I believe that in more rural areas, most of the time, businesses care
more about the people they serve. With fewer people to cater to they can focus on their consumers. Rural areas, to me, seem to have more interpersonal
communications and can be more attentive to their consumer's needs.
In an event like the one told in the story the only way I prepare myself is by making sure the doors are locked. Otherwise, if you are in an unknown
location, it is kind of hard to prepare for an unknown situation like street vendors pestering you. And if I was in the situation that the Deputy Mayor of
New Delhi was I would have more than likely done the same thing, hopefully without the tragic ending. When monkeys attack I would do one of two
things, fight the attackers or throw

San Juan And The Spider Monkeys Analysis
One of the greatest single traits shared by men and women who have been successful in business–and in pursuit of their life goals–is persistence. I like
to call that quality stickability, which the great Napoleon Hill, the father of the modern philosophy of success, recognized in these words: One reason
why most men seldom accumulate fortunes until they have passed well beyond the 40–year goal post of life is that they must undergo failures and
adversities and overcome sufficient obstacles to develop in them sufficient knowledge to accumulate wealth. In other words they must–a strong and
unmistakable commandment–persist in following their dreams, their most cherished ideas through to the end. Of course, exceptions to every rule
abound (think... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They witnessed fear in the eyes of the creatures as they came closer, but surprisingly enough the spider monkeys didn't let go of the nuts. They were
unable to adapt to this strange, unforeseen circumstance. They were unable to change course and elude their human predators. The hunters simply
snatched them up and threw them in a cage. San Juan was a hero. He had done something nobody had ever done before. The monkeys could not see
a solution beyond their challenge. They simply sat there with their hands stuck in the containers until the hunters captured them. They ended up as
captives due to their inability to be flexible and adapt to the situation and paid for it with their lives. Could it be that we are no different than the
spider monkey? It's a matter of scale, of course, as most folks would simply let go of the nut. Is it possible that we may be holding onto something
that should be let go of? Whether it's a bad relationship, job, guilt, remorse, anger, house, car, or worse. Can it be that over time we too have confused
stubbornness and stickabilty–and at the end of the day... find ourselves

Love : A Short Story
I wake up at 6:30 every morning jump in the shower, put on some clothes, and slap that smile on my face that my mom reminds me of every
morning. This is how this school year has begun and maybe will continue to go. I'm hiding behind this curtain 24/7 trying to hide the emotion of
how I really feel every day. It wasn't always this way though. About two months ago I hopped on a plan to face a new adventure where I was
hoping to find my myself and discover my future. I learned a lot over this month away from home. I learned what it meant to live for one purpose,
and know that love is something greater than our understanding of it, and that we may never face on earth. I developed a sense of wonder for
purpose and passion. Little did I know that this month would fly by and after this spiritual high came down the test would begin. I sat in bed with
tears flowing down my cheeks. I was feeling many things that first night half way across the world. I felt homesick, but I also felt at peace
knowing that what was happening in my heart was greater than any experience I would encounter in my life so far. That first week I was there I
listened to many speakers who had very powerful messages that I will forever hold in my heart. One in particular though hit me. This speakers name
was Jensen Franklin and that night he shared a story based on the book The Girl with No Name. This book shares and true story of a young girl who
was kidnapped and left to die in the jungle. In that jungle

Cata Spider Monkey Book Vs Movie
I choose the adaptation movie from novel twilight to make the difference between the novel and film. The difference between watching its movie
and reading its novel is the plot in the novel is more detail compare to movie. The first reason why the novel is more detail than movie is the scene
in the movie is been cut by the director so that he can focus to an important scene only. So, the people who did not read this novel will miss all
extended plot or others character in the novel. For example in the scene of movie, after Edward jumps out the window, he says, "You better hold on
tight, 'Spider Monkey' " but in the novel it say that Edward never calls Bella Spider Monkey in the book. In the novel after Edward teases Bella by
saying "Well, you

How To Write A Paper On Totem Poles
Did you ever wonder what these scary looking figures were that was on totem poles? Totem poles were initiated from the Northwest Indian tribes. They
are "built" using symbolic objects from Elements of Nature, Colors, and Geometrical shapes that represent stories, myths, and/or an important event. I
chose seven items that share the same qualities as me. To elaborate, I picked a unicorn, monkey, elephant, lotus, dolphin, dog and the color blue
because they represent my story. The first item I chose was the unicorn. I chose this because it represents my positivity and creativity. This majestic
animal is unique just like me. Everyone is different in their own ways, just like how unicorns are un–similar to horses.

I chose an elephant because it could possibly represent good luck and health. Furthermore, elephants symbolize my religious beliefs. Since elephants
are a big part of Buddhism, I wanted to imply it on my totem pole. Ever since I was younger, I would go to a Buddhist monastery to pray and learn
more about my religion. I wanted this to be included on my totem pole because my religion means a lot to me.
The fourth item is a lotus flower. I chose a lotus flower because it symbolizes my calm and peaceful attitude. Not only that but it shows everyone's
true beauty inside. Meaning outside is beautiful but once you observe more you can see all the little details that make up this flower. Despite the fact
that a lotus begins on a muddy surface. It grows up to be a beautiful flower. Additionally, Lotus' are very gentle and delicate.
The fifth item on my totem pole is an adorable mammal. It's a dolphin! I chose a dolphin because they are a lot similar to humans. To me, dolphins
represent my joy and happiness every day. To elaborate, dolphins and I are extremely friendly and cheerful. We both will support our family and friends
with anything.Dolphins and human both care about everyone very much and nothing will stop us from doing

Spider Monkeys
Spider monkeys use multi–sensory perception when choosing their food. This had been previously documented by multiple groups in lab
environments. Hiramatsu et al. wanted to see which senses the spider monkeys used in this species natural habitat. The researchers focused on whether
or not the spider monkeys chose fruit based on sight, smell, or a combination of the two, and why they preferred that chosen sense. They also looked at
whether one sense was favored over another, or used in conjunction with each other. Although spiders monkey diets include more than fruit, the
researchers focused on the seven most common fruits popular with the monkeys in their natural habitat of Santa Rosa National Park, Costa Rica.

there would be a basket full of natural but non–native fruits. I would include both ripe and unripe fruit. Over a four month period, two in the wet

behaviors during foraging. For behaviors I would look at sight, smell, competition: hoarding, guarding, stealing, etc. for each fruit basket. I would also

brown spider monkeys ranges from light to dark brown on the upper parts of their body and their head, while the inside of the arms and legs is a
slightly lighter color of brown. Some individuals of the brown spider monkey population also possess the conspicuous characteristic of a white
triangular forehead patch. Behaviorally, the brown spider monkey is a diurnal and very social species. They live in what are known as

male groups while females travel with other females and their offspring, though it is not necessarily unusual to find a brown spider monkey

sleep that is near a fruit tree so they do not have to travel far the next day to find food. Differences in sizes of these groups occur due to varying
availability of fruit. When fruit is abundant, the groups tend to be larger and when the amount of fruit is limited they

The Monkey King Character Changes

English 2A
Monkey King Character Changes "Character isn't something that you were born with and can't change... [Character is] something you must take
responsibility in forming," said famous author Jim Rohn. This is shown in American Born Chinese, written by Gene Luen Yang, with theMonkey
King. The Monkey King shows his true malleability as a character as he has drastic personality changes throughout the course of the book. It is
always unpredictable to how he will act next in the story as he is easily influenced by others, for better and for worse. This dynamic character changes
from being a content character with high self–esteem, to a depressed and negative character, but eventually ends with an appropriate view of himself.
The Monkey King starts off this book with a high self–esteem of who he is and his importance in the world. This is clear on the fourth panel on page
9. You can tell that he views himself as an important monkey through some of the techniques used by the author. One technique he uses is word

Case Study Of Female Francois Langurs
The Francois' Langur is one of the leaf monkeys. Francois' Langurs are very social animal, who live in the group during their lifetime. They enjoy to
interact with others, but the male Francois; Langurs do not interact with other group of male, because one male creates its own group with their
females. Theses monkeys prefer to have polygamy system for reproduction. All of the female members have their own male partner. Because of this
system, they create the unique group behavior for the female Francois' Langurs. Their babies show different appearance, and female raise their babies
together without the boundary of the mother. Female Francois Langurs apply the 'Aunting' system in their group. It can fulfill the inefficient
reproduction system that a single female can only produces one calf per year. Also, their pregnancy period takes long time compared to other animals.
The different appearance between babies and adult monkeys, and the unique social nursing behavior affect the increase reproduction and population

By using their physical condition efficiently, they are able to stay or live in their habitat safely. However, since the baby monkeys' tails are very short,
they do not have the ability to use their tails effectively like adult monkeys. Thus, the baby monkey essentially needs the aid of their mother and other
females for surviving in nature. When I observed them in Lincoln Park Zoo, adult monkeys treated and cared their little monkey well. The baby was
helped by adults and played tricks with them. Even if she/he played undue mischief, such as pulling their tails off or taking the food away that they eat,
adult monkeys did not deny the baby monkey as their offspring and get angry. It seemed like a human child acting with their parents or

Cleopatr A Brief Summary Of Savannah's Monkeys
The story that I read was a book about a Doberman dog named Luther. Luther had a best friend named Cleopatra (she is a monkey) and an owner
named Savannah. One day Cleopatra was kidnap and went missing. Savannah was worried about her monkey, but also worried about Luther
because he got really depressed, he knew Cleopatra was gone. Savannah asked her friends Ben, and Griffin to help her look for Cleopatra, but all
they could find was a weird looking banana. The very next day their class went on a field trip to a floating zoo. When Savannah walked into the zoo,
the first thing that caught her eye was a monkey that looked exactly like Cleopatra. Savannah, Ben, and Griffin ran to the monkey cage. On the bottom
it spelled ELENOR printed in bold. Savannah was so furious. She went to go talk to the manager. And his name was Mr. Nastase. She knew for a...

with a tranquilizer gun in his hand. Then Griffin stood up and said "You will never find all your animals they are all spread out in the zoo." Then
Mr. Nastase laughed and said ''I do not want the old animals I am going to go shopping for new and better ones IN THIS ZOO." Savannah knew what
that meant, turned off the lights and called the police. They got there Mr. Nastase somehow was getting chased by baby alligators. Once the police got

The second video of 'Robert Seyfarth: Can Monkeys Talk? (napisy PL)4 is the second closest to human language. The vervet monkey of East

one for if they saw an eagle and one for if they saw a snake. After each call, the monkeys reacted differently. All the monkeys reacted exactly the same
to each call. These are calls that all vervet monkeys can understand. They may be basic calls and sounds, but they are very effected by keeping the
monkeys alive. All the monkeys are aware of the calls mean, and it is something that they can understand instantly and even from a distance. – This is

Prejudice And Prejudice In Frankenstein
In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the concept of prejudice is introduced through the creature's character as a means to explore one of
mankind's greatest flaws. Prejudice by definition is a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. These "preconceived
opinions" placed on on the creature had a detrimental effect on his quality of life. As a result of his outward appearance, the creature's attempt at
humanization resulted in the denial of basic rights. This notion of prejudice that is depicted through the creature's character can unfortunately be
connected to prejudice present in our world today, where many people are denied adequate education, jobs, and safety based primarily on the aspect of
connecting a person's outward appearance to their suspected morals, beliefs, and possible future behavior. With ensuing "race wars" in the United
States and other areas of the world, messages against prejudice and discrimination have been given a large platform in the media. But prejudice has
been present in humans for as long as we can remember, however it is still unknown why people are prone to prejudice in the first place. New
research, using monkeys, may suggest that our reluctance to prejudice may be deeply rooted in our evolutionary past. This research was conducted by
Yale graduate Neha Mahajan and a team of psychologists, where they traveled to Cayo Santiago, an uninhabited island southeast of Puerto Rico also
known as "Monkey

Spider Monkeys In Anthropology
The article I chose is about spider monkeys and a problem scientists have found with their grooming habits. Since these monkeys are endangered,
scientist were studying ways to keep them healthy before they all die off. It was found that by grooming each other, they are getting off parasites on
the skin but also ones from inside. These parasites can be found on dead skin that the other monkeys end up pulling off during grooming which then
transmits to the groomer. Since the monkeys don't stay around the same group all the time, this parasite gets transmitted more easily and quickly. Now
scientist can begin to work on trying to save these monkeys and other endangered primates with this new information. The field of anthropology being

The Genre of Mystery in The Signalman and the Monkeys Paw...
How do dickens and jacobs use the genre of mystery in the signalman and the monkeys paw?
To answer the question, I believe that the authors of The Signalman and The Monkey's Paw use the genres of mystery very well. I am going to explain
why I think that in the following essay.
The first idea that I am going to look at is the role of fate. We see this take place in both stories, but in slightly different ways. In
The Monkey's Paw, we see fate take on a large role, as the story is about a monkey's paw that has been invested with a lot of evil power because "an old
fakir" wanted to teach people not to interfere with fate and its course.
In The Signalman however, the role of fate is not as large as the role in The Monkey's... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, I will look at the suggestion of spectre. In The Monkeys
Paw, the paw had been invested with so much power because "it had a spell put on it by an old fakir", as this "holy man" wanted to get a message
across to people that they were not to interfere with fate and its course.
The Signalman is a story about a man who sees a figure, or a spectre several times, and after the sightings, the next day somebody dies.
The suggestion of spectre plays quite a big role in this story, and gives a very effective result. "The left arm is across the face, and the right arm is
waved, – violently waved."
Moreover, the setting of The Monkey's Paw adds to the way Jacobs used the genre of mystery. "Without, the night was cold and wet". You could
imagine a typical mystery scene, with rain, claps of thunder etc – a effective setting. The atmosphere inside the house was equally successful in
grabbing my attention, the fire was burning and the blinds were drawn, and this gives me the idea of being 'cosy' inside when the weather outside is
terrible and miserable – an appealing setting. The story is mostly set at night, which adds to the eeriness.
Equally, Dickens grabs the reader's attention with a disturbing atmosphere. "The steep cutting nearly over his head" gives me the idea of claustrophobia.
The thought of a "foreshortened and shadowed" figure gives me the sense of a figure that is possessed and not as it seems. Most

Analysis of the Film The Rise of the Planet of the Apes Essay
The movie that I choose to watch is "The Rise of the Planet of the Apes". In class we learned that primates have different categories. The categories
include; movement, reproduction, intelligence and behavior patterns. In the movie, the main ape, Caesar, as well as the other primates in the movie
shows examples of these categories. Although, like most modern day movies, some behaviors and characteristics are not true and do not relate to the
material that we studied in class.
This film was made in 2011 starring James Franco as the main character, Dr. Will Rodman. The movie takes place in San Francisco, where Will

Will named the baby ape Caesar, and right away he noticed how intelligent baby Caesar was. The first day that he brought Caesar home, Caesar
already knew the correct way to hold a bottle and feed himself. By the age of three, Caesar was doing tasks that normal eight year old children would
do. Impressed with the results Will was finding from Caesar, Will takes a chance and steals some of the ALZ

Charles. After giving the shot to his father, his father quickly recovered and no longer had any symptoms relating to Alzheimer's disease.
Unfortunately the medicine did not permanently cure Charles, years later he returned back to his old ways. When Caesar looks outside his window,
he sees Charles getting yelled at by neighbor. Protective over Charles, Caesar runs outside and attacks the man, which resulted in Caesar being taken
away from his "family" and imprisoned in an ape sanctuary.
While begin in the sanctuary, Caesar along with the other apes are not treated very well. From the mistreatment, Caesar starts to make plans about
how to escape. He would draw on the walls of his cage, and think of a route to break free. When the owners son takes his friends into the sanctuary,
one boy went over to see Caesar, this gave the intelligent ape to steal the pocket knife that the boy had without him knowing. Caesar makes a tool that
helps him to unlock his cage and free himself and the other apes. Caesar leads the

Old World Monkeys
Monkey, any of a large and varied group of mammals of the primate order. The term monkey includes all primates that do not belong to the categories
human, ape, or prosimian; however, monkeys do have certain common features. All are excellent climbers, and most are primarily arboreal. Nearly all
live in tropical or subtropical climates. Unlike most of the prosimians, or lower primates, they are almost all day–active animals. Their faces are
usually flat and rather human in appearance, their eyes point forward, and they have stereoscopic color vision. Their hands and feet are highly
developed for grasping; the big toes and, where present, the thumbs are opposable. Nearly all have flat nails. Monkeys habitually sit in an erect posture.
Unlike the apes, most cannot swing arm–over–arm (the spider monkey is an exception) but move about in trees by running along the branches on all
fours; their skeletal structure is similar to that of other four–footed animals. Monkeys live in troops of up to several hundred individuals and travel
about in search of food, having no permanent shelter. As in apes and humans, the female has a monthly reproductive cycle, and... Show more content

Most are arboreal, but a few, such as baboons and some macaque species, are ground dwellers. Some Old World monkeys lack tails; when a tail is
present it may be long or short but is never prehensile (grasping). The nostrils are close together and tend to point downward. Many species have
cheek pouches for holding food, and many have thick pads (called ischial callosities), on the buttocks. Their gestation period is five to nine months.
Adult Old World monkeys have 32 teeth. The Old World monkeys, sometimes called true monkeys, are more closely related to the apes and humans
than they are to the New World monkeys; the two monkey groups probably evolved separately from ancestral

Goliath Bird Eating Spider Research Paper
The goliath bird eating spider is the heaviest of all spiders in the word weighing almost half a pound! It is also arguably the largest spider competing
with the giant huntsman spider. They both have a leg span of about 12 inches! That's the size a small pizza! Their bodies are dark brown covered by
reddish hairs giving the spider a golden blond appearance. The coloration of this spider gives it its species name "blondi" which is the Latin word for
blond, or golden. The goliath bird–eating spider is found in rainforests from southern Venezuela east to Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and
north–eastern Brazil. The Goliath bird–eating spider was named by explorers who first reported them to the western world, and witnessed one eating a

almost completely on its hairs to alert it of prey or predators. When threated, the bird eater will first rub its hind legs together very quickly to make
a loud hissing noise hoping to confuse and scare its predator. If that doesn't work they will raise up on their hind legs and bear their inch long fangs.
If bitten the predator will experience extreme pain and swelling, but no permanent damage will be induced. If the predator still won't them alone, they

When Is Animal Testing Wrong
Every year, ten to one hundred million animals are tested on. Rats and mice were two–thirds of that total. In addition to that there are one hundred and
eighty thousand dogs, fifty five thousand cats, five hundred thousand rabbits, a similar number of guinea pigs, and sixty thousand primates. With these
numbers why still test on animals? Animal testing needs to stop. It is wrong. These animals are dying from neglect and harsh conditions. Animal

experiments during World War Two. Again, why is animal testing still a thing?

Spider Monkeys Social Behavior
Social Behavior Among Monkeys May Be More Nature Than Nurture
ScienceDaily (Dec. 4, 2003) – An unusual experiment with monkeys who were switched between mothers shortly after birth has demonstrated the
importance of nature over nurture in behavior.
Rearing
Young monkeys reared by a mother other than their own are more likely to exhibit the aggressive or friendly behavior of their birth mothers rather than
the behavior of their foster mothers, a University of Chicago researcher has shown for the first time.
The discovery of inheritability of social behavior traits among non–human primates has important implications for people as it reinforces other research
that suggests that such characteristics as sociability and impulsive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As the thumb is absent in their hands, the Spider monkey's grooming is not as developed as in other primates. They scratch themselves with hands and

It is said that the barks of spider monkeys are much worse than their bites. The crazy behavior of Spider monkeys is intended solely to frighten the

As the real world problems are getting complex and intricate day by day, the need of fast, simple (with few control parameters) and effective
optimization algorithms is increasing among the researchers from various fields. New algorithms are required to cope up with the existing problems.
SMO is a new meta–heuristic nature–inspired algorithm and is a hit and trial based mutual iterative strategy for global optimization over discrete and
continuous spaces. It has performed superior to other evolutionary and swarm intelligence based algorithms which is clear from the fact that it gave
better results when tested on various benchmark problems. As few control parameters are involved in SMO, so it becomes easy to implement SMO
in various types of optimization problems. It is exceptionally evident that some inborn disadvantages are likewise there in each algorithm. To
overcome these, various modifications have been made in the original SMO. These modifications has enhanced the basic algorithm and also improved
its efficiency due to which, it can be applied to solve various other real world complex optimization problems. In this review, a relatively

This quote displays foreshadowing because during this event he makes a mistake and doesn't realize it until after it's too late. Also "'I wish for

troops, averaging at about 15 to 25 individuals in a group. The group will break up into smaller bands on occasion, like to split up to forage for food
resources or if there are not enough resources to support the entire group to increase their chances of survival. They are typically found in large,
unoccupied areas in the upper layer of the rainforests of Central and South America but can also be found in Mexico. They are primarily arboreal,

About half of their diet consists of fruits, but they are omnivores and will also eat seeds, insects, and sometimes even small animals like birds and

using their long arms and short hind legs, walking on the toes of all four of their limbs, but when in trees they move by lateral jumping. They
typically live in large groups, averaging at around 615 individuals, called hordes. The largest group ever measured included around 1200
individuals. Hordes are made up of adult females and their offspring with the males only entering during mating season. The males otherwise like a
solitary lifestyle. The males are still the more dominant ones and can be aggressive towards each other, like during mating season when conflicts can
be deadly but are somewhat rare. Mating season starts around June or July and ends around September or October. The females will choose their mate
based on his status, which they can visible see based on the bright colors of the males face and rump. Only the largest, most dominant, and most
colorful males will sire offspring.

Black Spider Monkey Research Paper

  • 1. Black Spider Monkey Research Paper Ateles paniscus A.K.A Black Spider Monkey According to Primate Info Net, there are seven species of spider monkeys recognized with the Black Spider Monkey included. The Black Spider Monkey is the largest of them all. These adorable monkeys have long, shiny black hair covering their bodies, except for the face, which is red or pink. One thing that makes these monkeys stand out against other monkeys is their long, prehensile (defined as "capable of grasping") tails. With this fifth limb, they have more stability when resting in trees and grasping branches. For extra ease in swinging through the trees, they have an extra mobile shoulder joint. These monkeys are large, but with a slender frame, a "pot belly" and spidery limbs (which is where their name comes from). Male spider monkeys are typically 52–58 cm in length, with their tail can grow to be as long as 72–85 cm by itself. Females are usually 49–62 cm with a tail length of 64–93 cm long. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They are usually found in moist tropical evergreen forests (usually about 78.3В°F) specifically in the Amazon Rainforest. They are usually found in Brazil, French, Guiana, Guyana, and Suriname, with a small group found in Peru and Bolivia. The Amazon Rainforest is an extremely humid environment with a large amount of rainfall. It is massively biodiverse, with around 80,000 species of plants found there. Common plants found are called epiphytes (they can grow on other plants instead of the ground), vines and palms. The species, spider monkeys, love the canopy life. Meaning, that they like to stay in the upper part of the canopy and are rarely seen in the understory or on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Spider Monkeys Lab Report Color Vision in Spider Monkeys Objective: To determine the color vision abilities of four individual spider monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi). Certain New World monkeys, such as spider monkeys, vary in the types of color they can see. Furthermore, the color vision abilities of these monkeys vary among individuals due to the differing genetics of males, who have dichromatic vision and certain females who have trichromatic vision similar to humans (Regan et al., 2005). Additionally, only one behavioral study has been conducted with spider monkeys to test their color vision abilities (Ateles fusciceps and Ateles belzebuth; Blakeslee & Jacobs, 1982). However, with a sample size of only two spider monkeys who were a different species than the spider monkeys housed at the zoo, this research should be reinvestigated. Ultimately, the implications of the study will give us more insight into spider monkey color vision and increase opportunities for improved environmental enrichment for animals based on their individual color abilities. Procedure: We will use a match–to sample paradigm to test color vision. In the match–to sample paradigm, animals are presented with a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Initially, the animal will not be asked to discriminate between two boxes, but rather just touch the only box presented to them after the delay. Once the animal learns touching the box presented to them after the delay leads to reinforcement, we will begin to present two boxes of differing color to the animals. In order to gain reinforcement at this stage of training, the animal must be able to correctly discriminate color based on the sample they just previously saw. Due to an absence of other studies to access information from, I am uncertain of how many sessions it will take before this behavior is fully ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Monkey's Paw And Tell Tale Heart Analysis "Sometimes painful things can teach us lesson we didn't think we needed to know." This is an example of the stories; The Monkey's Paw and Tell–Tale Heart. The story, The Monkey's Paw, tells you about an old friend of Mr. White coming to visit him and his family. He shows them the monkey's paw and tells them that it can grant you three wishes. They take it even though the friend warns them not to and the results aren't what they expected. The story, Tell–Tale Heart, tells you about the narrator who is plotting to kill an old man with the "vulture eye". The narrator doesn't realize that what he's done will cost him. Although The Monkey's Paw and Tell–Tale Heart stories may be different, they are also very similar In both the stories I have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The story says, "–I made up my mind to take the life of the old man and thus rid myself of the eye forever." The author is giving readers what the narrator will exactly do by the end of the story. While reading both stories, I saw that the authors wrote a lot of irony, the opposite of what will happen in a story. When Mr. White makes a wish from the monkey' paw, he wishes for 200 pounds. The consequences of the Whites' family getting 200 pounds was Herbert dying. This is an example example of situational irony, the situation turns out to be the opposite of what you thought it would be, because while the readers thought the money was going to drop out of the sky, the whole other outcome was different. In the beginning of Tell–Tale Heart, the narrator said, 'I loved the old man. He had never wronged me." This is an example of verbal irony, you say one thing but really mean the opposite, because he said he loved him, but meant the opposite because he killed the old man. The authors of both stories, last but not leastly, use suspenseful moods, the feeling that the story creates within the reader, and dangerous/mysterious tones, an author's attitude toward the subject or audience of the story, throughout the story. In The Monkey's Paw, the author says, "...The clock tick.s. A chair creaks. Finally, a quiet knock is heard. Mrs. White jumps up." This is an example of a suspenseful mood and mysterious tone. • 4. Primates Observation: Spider Monkey and Sifaka Essay I chose to study the behaviors of the Spider monkey and the Sifaka. I chose them for a few reasons, one being that Spider monkeys are incredibly adorable and two Sifaka's remind me of a childhood television show, Zoboomafoo. These two primate groups also struck my attention in class, so this project was a perfect opportunity to dig a little deeper. The behaviors I chose to observe were social interactions and locomotion. The biggest differences I noticed between the two primates were that the Spider monkeys have the prehensile tails and without exerting extra energy is able to engage in a few common locomotion patterns such as quadrupedal, suspensory and bipedalisim. Where as Sifaka's lack a tail, and remain upright at all times, and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first video I watched, there were two monkeys up in a tree hugging. Monkey 2 continued to embrace monkey 1 by wrapping their arms around the other. The whole time this was happening, both monkeys were making calls that sounded like squeaking–turkey gobble– vibration type noises. They follow each other around from branch to branch, shaking the branches and jumping simultaneously. They play in the same fashion that little (human) kids do. In the second video, a male and female monkey are at a habitat at the zoo. The male monkey keeps 'petting' the female monkey suggestively, and doesn't really care that there is an audience. They keep holding and touching each other's shoulders as though something is wrong, just as a human would do. The male monkey also keeps trying to get the female to stand up, she is very docile the entire time and at this point she rolls over onto her back–– he continues to grab her shoulder and keeps pointing upwards, probably to a more appropriate mating place. I literally felt like I was watching a drunk freshman girl getting taken advantage of by a frat boy at her first college party, these primates are a lot like humans. In the third and fourth video, monkey's sit in peace as they eat, two of the monkeys have babies hanging on their backs. One of the smaller, I'm assuming baby monkeys keeps hanging halfway over their mother's shoulder to check out what she is eating– I am curious as to why the babies are not ... • 5. Color Vision Of Spider Monkeys The researchers will conduct match to sample behavioral experiments to assess color vision of spider monkeys (Ateles geoffroyi; n=4). The animals' abilities to discriminate two test apparatus of varying color (red, green, and blue) and their abilities to correctly choose the sample that matches the original color will be tested. Additionally, the gender link component in color perception of primates will be analyzed by testing both sexes of monkeys. Ultimately, if the animal is able to match at rate greater than that of chance, each monkeys' individual color vision will be detectible. The limitations of this study is the young age of one of the monkeys. Future studies could run the same experiment with other species of New World monkeys. Keywords: spider monkey, color vision Color vision is an evolutionary trait that provides primates with significant reproductive and survival value (Gomes, Pessoa, Suganuma, Tomaz, & Pessoa, 2002). Fascinatingly, humans and apes share over 99% of their genetic makeup (Wildman, Uddin, Liu, Grossman, & Goodman, 2003). However, the quantity and quality of color vision varies within and between species in the primate world. Primates are divided into two groups, the Old World and the New World. The New World primates are located in the rainforests of South America and surrounding areas, while the Old World primates are from the tropical areas of Africa and Asia (Regan et al., 2005). The vast range of geographical locations inhabited by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My parents and my parents friends feel i should be an editor and director. I kinda like to write about fiction stuff. So like yes and no. No if we are writing about nonfiction stuff like memoir. Yes if it's about stories we make up. I once made a whole story about this monkey and he had escaped from a zoo because he was the world's first talking monkey. • 7. The Monkey At My Car Window The Monkey at My Car Window is a story about a situation that occurred with a monkey and two businessmen on a woman's journey to the Taj Mahal. This story teaches us about India's culture, both urban and rural, monkey's roles in Indian society, and how with a business mindset there is always an opportunity for a business venture. There are many clues into how Indian society runs in this story. These cultural clues come from this story and they come from various aspects. There are cultural clues from Hinduism mythology and from first–hand accounts of Ms. Kralijevic's journey to the Taj Mahal. The cultural context of India and its citizens that stems from Hindu mythology stem from how monkeys are perceived. 'The monkey army commander ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I have been in a situation where a man approached me at a Cabelas (sporting goods store) and we were talking about guns. This man said I was a very charismatic individual and he would like to talk to me about a job opportunity. To make a long story short, this man was trying to sell me on a pyramid scheme. I told the man I would have to think his offer over and never called the man back. He tried to contact me many times, and I ignored his calls and text messages until he finally stopped perusing the business venture. It was a cowardly way of dealing with the situation, but it worked. I would definitely visit the countryside in different countries looking for business. I believe that in more rural areas, most of the time, businesses care more about the people they serve. With fewer people to cater to they can focus on their consumers. Rural areas, to me, seem to have more interpersonal communications and can be more attentive to their consumer's needs. In an event like the one told in the story the only way I prepare myself is by making sure the doors are locked. Otherwise, if you are in an unknown location, it is kind of hard to prepare for an unknown situation like street vendors pestering you. And if I was in the situation that the Deputy Mayor of New Delhi was I would have more than likely done the same thing, hopefully without the tragic ending. • 8. San Juan And The Spider Monkeys Analysis One of the greatest single traits shared by men and women who have been successful in business–and in pursuit of their life goals–is persistence. I like to call that quality stickability, which the great Napoleon Hill, the father of the modern philosophy of success, recognized in these words: One reason why most men seldom accumulate fortunes until they have passed well beyond the 40–year goal post of life is that they must undergo failures and adversities and overcome sufficient obstacles to develop in them sufficient knowledge to accumulate wealth. In other words they must–a strong and unmistakable commandment–persist in following their dreams, their most cherished ideas through to the end. Of course, exceptions to every rule abound (think... They were unable to adapt to this strange, unforeseen circumstance. They were unable to change course and elude their human predators. The hunters simply snatched them up and threw them in a cage. San Juan was a hero. He had done something nobody had ever done before. The monkeys could not see a solution beyond their challenge. They simply sat there with their hands stuck in the containers until the hunters captured them. They ended up as captives due to their inability to be flexible and adapt to the situation and paid for it with their lives. Could it be that we are no different than the spider monkey? It's a matter of scale, of course, as most folks would simply let go of the nut. Is it possible that we may be holding onto something that should be let go of? Whether it's a bad relationship, job, guilt, remorse, anger, house, car, or worse. Can it be that over time we too have confused stubbornness and stickabilty–and at the end of the day... find ourselves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Love : A Short Story I wake up at 6:30 every morning jump in the shower, put on some clothes, and slap that smile on my face that my mom reminds me of every morning. This is how this school year has begun and maybe will continue to go. I'm hiding behind this curtain 24/7 trying to hide the emotion of how I really feel every day. It wasn't always this way though. About two months ago I hopped on a plan to face a new adventure where I was hoping to find my myself and discover my future. I learned a lot over this month away from home. I learned what it meant to live for one purpose, and know that love is something greater than our understanding of it, and that we may never face on earth. I developed a sense of wonder for purpose and passion. Little did I know that this month would fly by and after this spiritual high came down the test would begin. I sat in bed with tears flowing down my cheeks. I was feeling many things that first night half way across the world. I felt homesick, but I also felt at peace knowing that what was happening in my heart was greater than any experience I would encounter in my life so far. That first week I was there I listened to many speakers who had very powerful messages that I will forever hold in my heart. One in particular though hit me. This speakers name was Jensen Franklin and that night he shared a story based on the book The Girl with No Name. This book shares and true story of a young girl who was kidnapped and left to die in the jungle. In that jungle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Cata Spider Monkey Book Vs Movie I choose the adaptation movie from novel twilight to make the difference between the novel and film. The difference between watching its movie and reading its novel is the plot in the novel is more detail compare to movie. The first reason why the novel is more detail than movie is the scene in the movie is been cut by the director so that he can focus to an important scene only. So, the people who did not read this novel will miss all extended plot or others character in the novel. For example in the scene of movie, after Edward jumps out the window, he says, "You better hold on tight, 'Spider Monkey' " but in the novel it say that Edward never calls Bella Spider Monkey in the book. In the novel after Edward teases Bella by saying "Well, you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are "built" using symbolic objects from Elements of Nature, Colors, and Geometrical shapes that represent stories, myths, and/or an important event. I chose seven items that share the same qualities as me. To elaborate, I picked a unicorn, monkey, elephant, lotus, dolphin, dog and the color blue because they represent my story. The first item I chose was the unicorn. I chose this because it represents my positivity and creativity. This majestic animal is unique just like me. I wanted this to be included on my totem pole because my religion means a lot to me. The fourth item is a lotus flower. I chose a lotus flower because it symbolizes my calm and peaceful attitude. Not only that but it shows everyone's true beauty inside. Meaning outside is beautiful but once you observe more you can see all the little details that make up this flower. Despite the fact that a lotus begins on a muddy surface. It grows up to be a beautiful flower. Additionally, Lotus' are very gentle and delicate. The fifth item on my totem pole is an adorable mammal. It's a dolphin! I chose a dolphin because they are a lot similar to humans. To me, dolphins represent my joy and happiness every day. You can tell that he views himself as an important monkey through some of the techniques used by the author. One technique he uses is word choice. The text in the narrator block says, "He established his kingdom and monkeys from the four corners of the world flocked to him." The author effectively used this narrator block to show how the monkey thought he was important in this world by using powerful words such as 'kingdom' and 'flocked' to prove his point and then bolding them to highlight their importance to the story. • 25. Prejudice And Prejudice In Frankenstein In the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the concept of prejudice is introduced through the creature's character as a means to explore one of mankind's greatest flaws. Prejudice by definition is a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. These "preconceived opinions" placed on on the creature had a detrimental effect on his quality of life. As a result of his outward appearance, the creature's attempt at humanization resulted in the denial of basic rights. This notion of prejudice that is depicted through the creature's character can unfortunately be connected to prejudice present in our world today, where many people are denied adequate education, jobs, and safety based primarily on the aspect of connecting a person's outward appearance to their suspected morals, beliefs, and possible future behavior. With ensuing "race wars" in the United States and other areas of the world, messages against prejudice and discrimination have been given a large platform in the media. But prejudice has been present in humans for as long as we can remember, however it is still unknown why people are prone to prejudice in the first place. New research, using monkeys, may suggest that our reluctance to prejudice may be deeply rooted in our evolutionary past. • 27. The Genre of Mystery in The Signalman and the Monkeys Paw... How do dickens and jacobs use the genre of mystery in the signalman and the monkeys paw? To answer the question, I believe that the authors of The Signalman and The Monkey's Paw use the genres of mystery very well. I am going to explain why I think that in the following essay. The first idea that I am going to look at is the role of fate. We see this take place in both stories, but in slightly different ways. In The Monkey's Paw, we see fate take on a large role, as the story is about a monkey's paw that has been invested with a lot of evil power because "an old fakir" wanted to teach people not to interfere with fate and its course. In The Signalman however, the role of fate is not as large as the role in The Monkey's... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, I will look at the suggestion of spectre. In The Monkeys Paw, the paw had been invested with so much power because "it had a spell put on it by an old fakir", as this "holy man" wanted to get a message across to people that they were not to interfere with fate and its course. The Signalman is a story about a man who sees a figure, or a spectre several times, and after the sightings, the next day somebody dies. The suggestion of spectre plays quite a big role in this story, and gives a very effective result. "The left arm is across the face, and the right arm is waved, – violently waved." Moreover, the setting of The Monkey's Paw adds to the way Jacobs used the genre of mystery. "Without, the night was cold and wet". You could imagine a typical mystery scene, with rain, claps of thunder etc – a effective setting. The atmosphere inside the house was equally successful in grabbing my attention, the fire was burning and the blinds were drawn, and this gives me the idea of being 'cosy' inside when the weather outside is terrible and miserable – an appealing setting. Most

"Giving blood and submitting to X–rays and injections were daily options to death, even though most, if the twins would eventually die painful deaths." These people can talk about what it was like to be poked, prodded, and used. They felt shame that they had survived "not because they were strong, but because they were all freaks of nature" One survivor said that after all these years he cannot reconcile his experiences. Animals are in the same predicament except, they can't tell us their pain or talk about what happens. These people were in the same place as the animals. If we won't do it to people why are we doing it to animals? In conclusion, animal testing is wrong and it needs to stop. These animals are dying from things that can easily be avoided. The animals that are tested on don't always bring accurate results. People have talked about their experience with being tested on, yet we continue to use animals. These animals are innocent and most of them only know life I'm the testing facility. That is no way the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Spider Monkeys Social Behavior Social Behavior Among Monkeys May Be More Nature Than Nurture ScienceDaily (Dec. 4, 2003) – An unusual experiment with monkeys who were switched between mothers shortly after birth has demonstrated the importance of nature over nurture in behavior. Rearing Young monkeys reared by a mother other than their own are more likely to exhibit the aggressive or friendly behavior of their birth mothers rather than the behavior of their foster mothers, a University of Chicago researcher has shown for the first time. The discovery of inheritability of social behavior traits among non–human primates has important implications for people as it reinforces other research that suggests that such characteristics as sociability and impulsive ... As the thumb is absent in their hands, the Spider monkey's grooming is not as developed as in other primates. They scratch themselves with hands and feet. Their social grooming in limited to the mothers grooming their young. It is said that the barks of spider monkeys are much worse than their bites. The crazy behavior of Spider monkeys is intended solely to frighten the prowler and is merely a bluff. Moreover, spider monkeys only intimidate human beings only if they have not had a brush with them previously. Any negative experience with human beings makes them cautious and they try to keep away from them. social behaviour, animal, the suite of interactions that occur between two or more individual animals, usually of the same species, when they form simple aggregations, cooperate in sexual or parental behaviour, engage in disputes over territory and access to mates, or simply communicate across space. Social behaviour is defined by interaction, not by how organisms are distributed in space. Clumping of individuals is not a requirement for social behaviour, although it does increase opportunities for interaction. • 36. Spider Monkeys One of the prevailing theories about why primates have such good color vision is that it allowed them to pick out fruits against the green backgrounds of forests and jungles (Osorio et al., 2004). New World monkey color vision is an evolutionary puzzle because the same evolutionary pressures for finding food should act similarly on both sexes. According to van Roosmalen (1985), it is a hypothesized that dominant female spider monkeys lead the group to food sources, suggesting why there may be a difference in these animals due to their ecology. As there is only one study to date about spidermonkey color vision and it was based on one male and one female monkey, this study will add to our knowledge about whether spider monkeys have similar ... [52] proposed in their paper "SM–RuleMiner : Spider monkey based rule miner using novel fitness function for diabetes classification" that SMO can be used to outline an effective rule miner called SM–RuleMiner for diabetes diagnosis. Fitness function was also designed for SM–RuleMiner. On its comparison with other meta–heuristic–based rule mining algorithms, it was found that SM–RuleMiner achieved the best ranking in average sensitivity and the second best ranking in average classification accuracy. The next section gives a brief performance analysis of SMO when compared with other probabilistic and deterministic algorithms. 5.Performance analysis of Spider Monkey Optimization Algorithm In 2015, V. Arora et. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Further investigation revealed that DE was consistent and computationally cheap in comparison to other algorithms for both the models. Conclusion As the real world problems are getting complex and intricate day by day, the need of fast, simple (with few control parameters) and effective optimization algorithms is increasing among the researchers from various fields. New algorithms are required to cope up with the existing problems. SMO is a new meta–heuristic nature–inspired algorithm and is a hit and trial based mutual iterative strategy for global optimization over discrete and continuous spaces. It has performed superior to other evolutionary and swarm intelligence based algorithms which is clear from the fact that it gave better results when tested on various benchmark problems. As few control parameters are involved in SMO, so it becomes easy to implement SMO in various types of optimization problems. It is exceptionally evident that some inborn disadvantages are likewise there in each algorithm. To overcome these, various modifications have been made in the original SMO. These modifications has enhanced the basic algorithm and also improved its efficiency due to which, it can be applied to solve various other real world complex optimization problems. • 38. The Importance Of Foreshadowing In The Monkey's Paw "The Monkey's Paw" is a supernatural short story by author W. W. Jacobs first published in England in 1902. In the story, three wishes granted to the owner of the monkey's paw, but the wishes come with an enormous price for interfering with fate. I agree on how some occasions the events are giving away as you can see in this sentence, how the friend gives Mr. White a magical wish granting monkey paw, now we all know what happens next something always goes wrong on granting wishes. It gives most of its story away before it happens such as his son saying something like he will not see what happens to the monkey paw. This quote displays foreshadowing because during this event he makes a mistake and doesn't realize it until after it's too late. Also "'I wish for two hundred pounds,' said the old man distinctly. A fine crash from the piano greeted the words, interrupted by a shuddering cry from the old man. His wife and son ran toward him. 'It moved,' he cried, with a glance of disgust at the object as it lay on the floor. 'As I wished, it twisted in my hands like a snake.' 'Well, I don't see the money,' said his son as he picked it up and placed it on the table, 'and I bet I never shall.' This is going to be a little description of what went on during this trip and all the different things I saw. Most of this will be about my trip to the Wildlife world zoo since that was the biggest thing that happened during the trip. The first thing I should mention, Since of course it was the first thing we saw, Is the amazing scenery on the way up here. We passed through parts of Oklahoma, Texas, And New Mexico that I've never seen before– Although going to all three places previously! Since it was late in October when the road trip was taking place it was quite chilly all the way until we hit Phoenix – But the scenery was great, As I mentioned before.... One of the most strange and different animals I saw there was an Axolotl, A Mexican Salamander that lives in the water although they aren't fish, But amphibians. The Axolotl is classed as critically endangered due to the fact that they were sold in Mexico as food and the polluted water. The Axolotl is a really special animal and very different from others due to the fact that it can regenerate its own limbs and their rarity. Another really strange animal is the Blind Cavefish, A fish that is born with eyes but as they age skin grows over their eyes, Making them blind. They are warm water fish that like the deep and dark caves of Central America. Although they can't see, They can sense light and swim away from it, Naturally preferring the dark. I think this fish really suites its name and they are very interesting to watch. Poisonous Dart frog: Tiny bright coloured frogs that seemed very active. These frogs like moist, humid places, Including the tropical parts of Central and South America. Many species of these frogs are endangered, And overall they are some pretty cool little frogs with a huge sting! The Stonefish is another remarkable fish that I saw. They are the most poisonous fish known, Having 13 venomous spines on its back that can be released into prey if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Primate Write Up : Annotated Bibliography Primate Write–Up According to Wikipedia, spider monkeys tend to live in medium sized groups of around two or three dozen individuals called troops, averaging at about 15 to 25 individuals in a group. The group will break up into smaller bands on occasion, like to split up to forage for food resources or if there are not enough resources to support the entire group to increase their chances of survival. They are typically found in large, unoccupied areas in the upper layer of the rainforests of Central and South America but can also be found in Mexico. They are primarily arboreal, meaning the spend most of their time swinging from trees, using their prehensile tails to move around. They use their tail as a fifth hand using it to help them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... About half of their diet consists of fruits, but they are omnivores and will also eat seeds, insects, and sometimes even small animals like birds and tortoises. The males spend most of their time on the ground foraging for food. As for locomotion, they move around on the ground on all fours using their long arms and short hind legs, walking on the toes of all four of their limbs, but when in trees they move by lateral jumping. They typically live in large groups, averaging at around 615 individuals, called hordes. The largest group ever measured included around 1200 individuals. Hordes are made up of adult females and their offspring with the males only entering during mating season. The males otherwise like a solitary lifestyle. The males are still the more dominant ones and can be aggressive towards each other, like during mating season when conflicts can be deadly but are somewhat rare. Mating season starts around June or July and ends around September or October. The females will choose their mate based on his status, which they can visible see based on the bright colors of the males face and rump. Only the largest, most dominant, and most colorful males will sire offspring.
