Working Title:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
The Dragon of Ashara
Product’s Purpose:
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you
achieve this?
My products’ purpose is to entertain. I will do this by incorporating different bits of
humour, drama, and interesting things. I will also make sure to use plot twists and
sound effects to emphasize different storylines and drama. Characters personal
conflicts as well as their conflicts with other characters will also be included to give
the script and audio more drama and excitement.
Genre:
What sort of product is it
Fantasy, because it is set in a medieval time where dragons were as common as
dogs are now.
Content
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific).
Does it have a story? If so, discuss it here
My product is a story. The basic storyline is that there is a princess (the princess
of Ashara) that has always had everything given to her by her father, and there is
one thing she never had, which was a dragon. As she was spoilt, her father,
knowing of all the dangers of what dragons can do, get her one anyway. He
regrets his decision as soon as it was carried out, as the dragon devours him as a
meal. The princess (named Luella) decides to try and train the dragon, as it was a
present from her late father, but as days and weeks pass, the kingdom gets
burned, and countless people die. So, she decides to hire a handsome knight
(prince James) to take the dragon away, as the deaths were getting too much for
the princess. The dragon could not be tamed; it could not be taken out of the
dungeon without people dying. Prince James relayed this information to Luella
and this is where they fall for each other, over dinner. After a few weeks in love
and together and 3 failed attempts at training the dragon, Prince James goes
down into the dungeon alone, and finds himself in a dangerous situation where he
was injured. Because of the love Luella has for James, she goes and she kills the
dragon, alone, to stop the deaths and to keep her love safe. This will appeal to
people as it is drama filed, plot twists are around every corner and the story is
interesting all the way through.

Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status,
psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
My product is aimed at 9-15 year olds, of both genders, with the social status
middle class. The psychographic is balanced. I will appeal to people in this range
by tailoring my ideas to fit their needs. I have included a dragon as it is something
boys may like, and the deaths and the gory is very ‘boyish’ in a way. I will make
my product appeal to girls buy introducing the prince, and the idea o a tragic love
story, a lot of girls will enjoy. They will be middle class, as these people are more
likely to have a car (which has a radio) or a stereo. People of a lower class may
not be able to afford one, or may be too busy to listen. People of a higher class
will probably have better things to do than listening to stories on the radio, and are
normally very busy people with working, or looking after their children. My product
appeals to the balanced psychographic as the humans win, and peace is restored
within Ashara.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get
sued for copyright infringement?
The deaths are very prominent in this story, and may offend children or parents
may not want their children listening to it. So if someone is scared of death or
doesn’t want to introduce their children to the concept they should maybe listen to
it first, before their children do. I will not restrict anyone from using it, as I believe
its up to the parents to deem it acceptable or unacceptable for their children, as
some parents may be more comfortable than others about the content of my
audio. There is no reason, as far as I am concerned why there should be a reason
that any religion or social group should be offended, unless they are a group that
likes dragons on the internet on tumblr.
I will re-read and then get someone else to read my script and then take out any
bits that may seem too much for the radio or children, or just isn’t appropriate. If I
get different peoples views on what is offensive and what’s not I can try my best to
keep it as inoffensive as possible.
I am not using characters from any other products or any storyline, all ideas are
mine, and it will be completely different from anything else that is out there to stop
any copyright infringement or any threat of it.
