A quick analysis of a live DJ set performed by Jack U in 2015.

1. Analysis of a live performance:
Jack U and Justin Bieber (Where are U now?)
After watching this live performance of
Jack U and Justin Bieber performing
“Where are U now?” it is clear the level
of effort we need to put in to the music
video. I can see this by the level of
excitement in the crowd, especially
when the beat drops. As a group, we
need to utilise this drop in the song in
our music video; whether it be a
montage of short shots to match the beat
for example. We could also take
inspiration from this live performance
and use colourful lighting to resemble
lasers.

2. It is clear to see that this live performance
is mainly about the DJ set of Skrillex and
Diplo as the song isn’t the same as the
radio edit we will be using. Therefore the
lyrics by Justin Bieber don’t seem to be as
impactful at this performance as they are
on other edits. In the official music video
the lyrics are a lot more distinct but the
drop is still prominent. This leads back to
my original point that the drop is going to
be a vital part of our music video. A
festival crowd is a very hard scenario to
recreate but we just need to improvise and
use the ideas we have.
