2. Webpage
Straight away you can see similarities between our website (the left) and the official Justin
Timberlake website (the right). Both sites have pictures of the artist in a similar layout and
in a similar position on the actual site . Both of the sites also have a picture of the artist in
the background, the official Justin Timberlake site has a picture of Justin Timberlake as the
whole background where as our website has the picture of the artist faded into it.
3. Website
Both of our websites have a twitter
feed to update his fans on recent
news. Having a twitter feed on an
artists website is useful as it helps
to publicise the artist as more
people will recognise he is on
twitter and potentially follow him
which will help him to promote
his new albums or singles.
4. Website
The two websites also have tour dates on them. This is
another promotion technique. This informs fans of
when they can go see the music artist near them or if
they want to follow him on tour.
5. CD Cover
The two CD covers have number of similarities, they both have a
picture of the artist with a background which relates to the
album/single. The Justin Timberlake album is called ‘Justfield’
with an image of a desert behind him; the single for our CD
cover is tunnel vision and we have an image of our artist with an
image of a tunnel behind him.
6. Video
Our Music video starts off similar to a number of other music videos, the first shot is
an extreme long shot of a city. The purpose of this is to set the scene of the video. One
music video which does this is Empire State of Mind by Alicia Keys, however the styling
of their extreme longshit is different to ours as our music video has a still long shot of
London where Empire state of mind has different flashing images of New York.
7. Video
Another similarity between our music videos and others is the use of the Green
Screen. Green screen is used in nearly every music video which is produced now.
Green screen is very effective as it allow to give the appearance that artist is in a
setting which they are not actually in. This allows for a lower budget cost of the Music
Video. The green screen image which we used in our music video was a tunnel as it
relates to the title and chorus of the song.
