The story of
PERSONALITY TYPES
BY MAYANK APTE
Once a student, baffled by his doubts, asked
his psychology professor
"Why are people so confusing? Why do they
tend to be so different?"
To which the renowned psychiatrist
happily replied, "Well! It all depends
upon how you CATEGORIZE their
traits, doesn't it? "
INTROVERSION - I
EXTROVERSION - E
FIRST FACTOR : The energy expression
EXTROVERTS
EXTROVERTS
More flexible
around humans
They get energized
after talking to
people
Take large part in
social gatherings
When given a
chance, they talk to
people than to sit
and think

SECOND FACTOR : Information Source
INTUITION ( I ) SENSING (S)
INTUITION
INTUITION is the ability where you
acquire knowledge without any conscious
reasoning, through your internal world.
INTUITION is the ability where you
acquire knowledge without any conscious
reasoning, through your internal world.
Intuitive people rely
upon their own
conceptions rather
than taking
information directly
from the
surroundings.
Sensing means that a
person is more reliable
on the information
the world gives to him
that his internal world
answers.
Sensing means that a
person is more reliable
on the information
the world gives to him
that his internal world
answers.
In the words of a
sensory person, “As far
as the object releases
sensations, they matter
to me…”
The students looked at each
other, some dazzled while
others very much
curious to find out the other
two factors…
THIRD FACTOR : Information Processing
THINKING (T)
FEELING (F)
THINKERS :
They use the
information they have
and think on them,
giving out
more ideas and
techniques for
further and deeper
understanding.
FEELERS :
They feel the information,
use it for expressing
themselves internally or
externally.
FEELERS :
They feel the information,
use it for expressing
themselves internally or
externally.
They make their
decisions based on
emotions and
feelings, rather than
logical reasoning.
AND THE FOURTH ONE,
PROFESSOR ?
FOURTH FACTOR : Information Implementation
JUDGEMENTAL ( J ) PERCEIVING ( P )
Judgemental : They are firm
of the pathways they take;
are quite focused on their
goals and tend to achieve
great respect in their field.
Judgemental : They are firm
of the pathways they take;
are quite focused on their
goals and tend to achieve
great respect in their field.
They tend to be the
EXECUTIONERS and get
the work done efficiently.
‘How can I ? ‘ is their
general motto.
Perceivers : They are
improvisational
masters, always on the
go for better and
simpler alternatives
Perceivers : They are
improvisational
masters, always on the
go for better and
simpler alternatives
They are the CREATORS
in various fields on this
planet.
To them ‘something
different’ is essential.
Finally after understanding
and comprehending all of
these, they asked their
professor :
Finally after understanding

these, they asked their
professor :
So what do we do after
knowing them ?
