4. The image on the front is a
photo of Maddie Ziegler
who famously features in
all of Sia’s music videos.
The use of this photo is
very striking to the
audience as it features the
iconic colours associated
with the LGBTQ+
community. The reasoning
behind this is that the main
single on this album “The
Greatest” is a tribute to the
recent shooting in a gay
nightclub in Orlando.
The plain background
contrasts with the use
of multi-coloured text
which consequently
stands out. The font
used is the house style
for Sias other albums
and so is iconic for her
work.
The artwork and text
are both centred which
draws the audiences
attention to one place,
making the album
instantly recognised.
The image takes up a large percentage of the
front cover and is therefore the main focus
point.
5. Features on the back
cover:
• Barcode
• Label company
logo
• Label company
website
• Copyright
The tracks are not set
out in the typical, list
style which they
usually are. Instead
the tracks have been
continuously set out,
with ‘//’ being used to
separate them.
The white font is
separated with multi-
coloured track
numbers which
matches the text on
the front cover. The font used is the same as that
used on the front cover, again just
like that of sias other albums.
7. The inside
booklet folds out
to reveal an A4
sized poster of
the front cover of
the CD. On the
other side are the
lyrics.
The lyrics are set
out just as the
tracklist is set out
on the back cover,
continuously. This
allows for a lot of
words to fit on the
A4 sheet which it
is confined to.
The A4 poster allows for the audience to
keep the poster, this is aimed at the fans of
Sia .
8. The Background for the
CD is multi-coloured,
this has been a running
theme throughout the
digipak with the text on
the front and the
tracklist.
The CD as a
whole is quite
simplistic, even
though it is
obviously very
colourful. The
silver font
stands out
against the CD
without being
too much for
the audience to
take in.
Features on the CD: Album title, record label logo, copyright
information.
11. Cool tones are
used within the
background
which allows
for the cover to
not be too
overpowering.
The cool tones
reflect the
chilled out vibe
reflected
through the
songs on
Troyes album.
The front cover
has been edited
to look as
though it has
been hand
drawn, this
makes the album
feel almost hand
made and
sentimental.
The placement of
Troye’s name above the
album title is centred
above the image of
Troye, focusing the
audiences attention.
The font used is
calligraphy, almost
handwritten, again
adding to the hand
made feel.
The image on the
front is of Troye
Sivan himself,
this may be
because this is his
debut album and
so he is
connecting to his
audience.
12. The background of the
back cover matches that
of the front cover,
making the whole cover
continuous.
The tracks are
in the same
font as the
album title on
the front
page, the
calligraphy
style matches
the laid back
sound of
Troyes music.
Follows the
conventions of the
track list in a list
formation. Doesn’t
use track numbers,
this makes it feel
more relaxed.
Features on back cover: barcode,
record label, copyright
information.
14. “Leave This Blue
Neighbourhood” is
written on the
booklet, this is a
lyric to one of his
songs and obviously
the title of his song.
Inside the leaflet
are the lyrics to
the songs printed
on pastel blue and
pink paper. These
pastel colours
reflect the teen
audience which
his music is aimed
at.
In small print at the bottom of the leaflet is a
recognition for the record label who produced the
music on the album.
15. The blue font on
the white CD
stands out. The
CD is an inverse
for the front
cover which has
white writing on
a blue
background.
Features on
the CD:
• Album title
• Record
label
• Record
label logo
The CD is
minimalistic which
balances out the quite
busy front cover.
Same font throughout the
digipak ensures
continuity.
