2. What are your very first impressions after
watching this video?
After watching the video, I was in shock, I did not expect that there would be
people so irresponsible when traveling and staying in a place like that.
Do you know anyone who has used Airbnb OR SIMILAR to find
accommodation in a private home? Was the experience positive? Would
you consider this type of accommodation?
I do not know anyone who has used this type of accommodation, therefore I do
not know how their experience has been. But I do consider this type of
accommodation a little more comfortable than others, although in my opinion I
prefer a hotel.
3. What are the advantages of staying in a tourist
flat like the ones offered on Airbnb as opposed
to staying in a hotel?
The advantages are: that you feel like in your own house, you do not have
schedules, you can always do whatever you want and when you respect the
rules, more people can stay than in a hotel …
What type of people use Airbnb to find accommodation?
They are encouraged to use young people to do it as a place of leisure and fun,
where many friends can meet and make a bottle with alcoholic beverages, or
any other type of substance.
4. If you were a homeowner, would you ever
consider renting out an extra room or your whole
flat to tourists visiting your city?
No the truth is that no, I would never rent a part of my house so that people I
don't know would visit my city, much less my entire house.
If you were renting out your home to tourists visiting your city, would you
have a preference as regards the type of lodger staying in your flat?
The truth is that I had never heard that question, because knowing that I will
never rent my house for tourists, I do not know how to answer this question. But
I think that if I rented my house, I would rent only a part of it and I would like it to
be little
5. If your flat was listed on Airbnb, what positive
features would you mention in order to attract
potential lodgers? Is there anything about your
flat that you might play down, or even not
mention?
If my apartment was uploaded to that network, I would mention all the good and
luxurious things so to speak to attract tourists. Also I would not like to have
anything wrong, I would have everything perfect for the comfort of travelers.
6. What do you think it’s like to live nextdoor to a
tourist flat? How might this type of
accommodation cause problems for people
whose permanent residence is in the same
building or street?
I think that it would not cause many problems, although if among them it would
be that people would always come and go from different places and we do not
know if they can bring any type of disease that can be transmitted, nor can we
even know what those people are like, and they may not get used to the rules.
7. Airbnb offers three types of rented accommodation:
a) Entire home – the whole living space to yourself. The advantage is that you have
everything to yourself ... there are no disadvantages.
b) Private room – a bedroom to yourself, but sharing some spaces with others.
The advantage is that you can meet more people and start a friendship and not feel so
alone ... the disadvantage is that you have to share with more people and you have to
have a schedule.
c) Shared room – sharing your bedroom and the entire living space with another
person or persons. The advantage is that you are not alone and share the expenses
that a rental requires ... the disadvantages are that you cannot have a little freedom and
privacy, in addition to that you have many hours to use any room that you have to share.
Which of the three options would you choose?
I would choose the first option.
8. If you were staying in an Entire home and had
the run of the place to yourself, would you be
tempted to snoop around?
I think that temptation would be like everyone else, but I would not think of
doing any of that because I would not be able to skip the rules or simply
disrespect the owners.
