3. Dear Ms/Mr.
My name is Minaeva Maria, I am 29 years old. I was born in Russia to a Russian father and
Greek mother so I have two mother languages that I speak fluently. Currently I am living in
Greece. I have studied at IATA Ticketing but as you can understand I had hard time finding a
job with my degree so I decided to work for tourism sector.
I have been working in tourism industry for the last 10 years. I started as a receptionist and
excursionist as I speak three languages: Greek, Russian and English, and later I managed to
become store manager. I have also worked at cafeterias, restaurants, beach bars and pool
bars of the hotels I was hired when we were short of personnel.
As a receptionist my liabilities were to make reservations and arrange guests’ departures,
inform them on any last moment changes, solve any problem they faced, and explain any
extra charges. Generally, I was held responsible to be there for our guests at any time and in
any situation, no matter how “small” or “unimportant” it looked.
As an excursionist I was making the reservations, closing Packages, meeting guests at the
airport and accompanying them to their hotels. I was also confirming bookings and providing
any information regarding tours or guests’ staying.
As a store manager I was responsible for the employees (payment, training, supervising),
imports and exports. Furthermore, I kept the accounting papers and did the negotiations with
suppliers.
I have not worked on cruise before but I am an easy learner. My previous experience has also
helped me to better communicate with people. Generally, I am a patient, polite and hard
working person so I believe that I will not face any problem with guests or staff.
Currently I am working at a hotel but it is only for the season, and as soon as I saw the job
positions you are offering I decided to apply as it has always been my dream to get a job in
which I could also travel all over the world.
Thank you for your time.
Minaeva Maria
