greatest writer in the English
language and the world’s
pre-eminent dramatist. His
extant works, including
collaborations, consist of
approximately 39 plays, 154
sonnets, two long narrative
poems.
Analysis of hamlet as tragic
characters
 usual tragic hero that
shakespeare liked to use in
his works.
“the tragedy of hamlet:
price ofdenmark”and it is
complemented by horatio
and fortinbras.
There are many different
thoughts on what hamlet’s
tragic flaw is; jealousy,
inaction, and insanity are all
accepted as possibilities.

plausible, but hamlet was not insane.
he love with his mother Gertrude and
cannot stand the thought of a man other
than his father in bed with her.
The fact that her and claudius
‘relationship is considered incestuous
makes the marriage even worse in his
eyes. relationship between the two of
them, and constantly thinks of their bed.

noble stature and a high
position in his culture.
Othello is a general and
commander of the
venician armed forces.
The lack of self esteem
because he is a moor is a
problem for othello.

The hero’s downfall is the result of a
“fatal flaw” in his character. it is the
result of free will, not of an accident
or mere fate
He kills his wife and then himself.
The tragic hero before he dies he
says, “one that lov’d not wisely but
too well”.
Othello is the husband of desdemona
whom he murders because he has
been misled by the villainous lago.

He rejects his loving and generous self
that aspect of humanity which makes
society possible in favor of the dark
passions of his self-centered ego.
In the end, the forces of love and trust
regain their strength as othello finally
recognizes the goodness of
desdemona.
Othello is a “tragic hero” due to his

he allows himself to be manipulated
