"We moved from thinking of ourselves as
designers to thinking of ourselves as design
thinkers.
We have a methodology that enables us to come
up with a solution that nobody has before.”

16. Empathy
when you feel what other people
feeling and can mirror their
expression, their opinion and
their hopes.
why?
To discover the people's explicit
and implicit needs so that we
can meet them through our
design solutions
18. Define
Defining the problem using a
unique , concise reframing of the
problem that is grounded in user
needs and insights.
why?
Expose new opportunities by
looking at things differently ;
guide innovation efforts ; make
sure we've identified something
worth working on
19. Ideate
Generating many possible
solutions to a problem.
why?
Generate maximum innovation
potential in a short amount of
time; incorporate different
perspective; build excitement.
20. Design thinking for better healthcare
derived from experience from hotel and
airline industries.
Example
21. PROTOTYPE
Is creating concrete embodiment
of a concept which becomes a
way to test our hypotheses get
closer to the final solution
why?
To gain empathy; to explore; to
test ;to inspire

The Embrace Incubator is small and light,
making it easy and inexpensive to transport to
rural villages. The entire sleeping bag can be
sanitized in boiling water. It is far more
intuitive to use than traditional incubators,
and fits well into the recommended practiceof
“Kangaroo Care,” where a mother holds her
baby against her skin. Finally, compared to
the $20,000 price of a traditional incubator,
the Embrace incubator only costs $25.

40. Key Discoveries
Seniors were embarrassed to accept government
Loss of control over their food choice was painful
They ate alone and missed the taste of seasonal food
The less the enjoyed their situation ,the smaller their
appetites
