Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
a.) Identify the plural form of nouns
b.) Show proper ways of keeping our body healthy
c.) Write the correct form of nouns ( ending in, s, es, y)

Topic: Forming plural of nouns ending in –Y
Reference: English for All Times
Values: Saving Money, Being healthy
Materials: Real objects and pictures
III- Procedures:
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Pre- reading activity
The teacher will have an activity called “word Groups”.
A replica of a ball will be passed around the class accompanied with
music. Once the music, stops, the one holding the ball will get the rolled
paper inside it and answer the question written. If nothing was written, then
the student is safe. The student who cannot answer will have a
corresponding consequence.
The question is:
Which of the following does not belong to the group?
1. Mouse, Cat ,monitor, Speaker
2. Car, Bus, Airplane, Bicycle
3. Africa, Canada, Honda, Australia
4. Glass, Plate, Water, Spoon
2. Review :
Encircle the nouns in the sentence
a) Stymverly is good friends.
b) Nccc Mall very nice place.
c) My phone very affordable
d) My dog is bigger than me.
3. Motivation
I will show real objects and name each object such as banana, guava, and
eggplant. Ask the students.
What is this?
Do you have fruits and vegetables in your backyard?
Do you love to eat fruits and vegetables?
What are the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables?
B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
Have the class read the dialog between two friends.
Ask:
Who played games in the plaza?
What did he get as prize?
What were some of the prizes?
Why is it important to be a good sport in games?
2. Discussion
Present some nouns used in the dialog. And let the students read it.
Brother ----------- brothers
Game ----------games
Prize ----------- prizes
Watch ---------- Watches
Box ----------- boxes
Ask:
Which nouns are singular?
Which is plural?
How do they form plural?
C. Generalization:
For the plural form of most nouns, add s.
For nouns that end in ch, x, s, or s sounds, add es.
For nouns ending in f or fe, change f to v and add es.
Nouns ending in vowels like y or o do not have definite rules.
IV- Application
Change these singular nouns into its plural form.
1. Lady
2. Baby
3. Boy
4. Family
5. Monkey
V- Evaluation:
Write the plural form of the nouns in the blanks.
My grandmother tells us different (story) ____________ about (fairy) ____________.
She says, “Many (city) ________in different (country) __________ have good (fairy)
__________. In the Philippines there are (valley) __________ where pretty (lady)
__________ disappear and never to return. These maidens are believed to have
become goddesses of the valley.

Write the plural form of these nouns and use it in a sentence.

  • 1. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to: a.) Identify the plural form of nouns b.) Show proper ways of keeping our body healthy c.) Write the correct form of nouns ( ending in, s, es, y) II – Subject Matter Topic: Forming plural of nouns ending in –Y Reference: English for All Times Values: Saving Money, Being healthy Materials: Real objects and pictures III- Procedures: A. Preparatory Activities 1. Pre- reading activity The teacher will have an activity called “word Groups”. A replica of a ball will be passed around the class accompanied with music. Once the music, stops, the one holding the ball will get the rolled paper inside it and answer the question written. If nothing was written, then the student is safe. The student who cannot answer will have a corresponding consequence. The question is: Which of the following does not belong to the group? 1. Mouse, Cat ,monitor, Speaker 2. Car, Bus, Airplane, Bicycle 3. Africa, Canada, Honda, Australia 4. Glass, Plate, Water, Spoon 2. Review : Encircle the nouns in the sentence a) Stymverly is good friends. b) Nccc Mall very nice place. c) My phone very affordable d) My dog is bigger than me. 3. Motivation I will show real objects and name each object such as banana, guava, and eggplant. Ask the students.

Developmental Activities 1. Presentation Have the class read the dialog between two friends. Ask: Who played games in the plaza? What did he get as prize? What were some of the prizes? Why is it important to be a good sport in games? 2. Discussion Present some nouns used in the dialog. And let the students read it. Brother ----------- brothers Game ----------games Prize ----------- prizes Watch ---------- Watches Box ----------- boxes Ask: Which nouns are singular? Which is plural? How do they form plural? C. Generalization: For the plural form of most nouns, add s. For nouns that end in ch, x, s, or s sounds, add es. For nouns ending in f or fe, change f to v and add es. Nouns ending in vowels like y or o do not have definite rules. IV- Application
