4. Step 1: Create an email account Choose a “user name” and password that you can easily remember and WRITE IT DOWN! Go to www.google.com Sign up! Your email address will be: username@gmail.com Learning to use this account is another class! Most important thing to know: your new mail will be in your INBOX.

Step 2: Find and use the library’s job search web page Go to www.catawbacountync.gov/library Click on “Finding Work: Your Library Can Help!”Each section addresses the different needs of an unemployed person: Job search brochureSection headings are aligned with the job search process and list good websites to explore. 6. Step 3: Find the resources to create a professional resume Read about resumes on the links at “Getting ready for your job search.” To create one in Microsoft Word Open Microsoft Word Click on the round “Office Button” in the top, left-hand corner Click on “New” Scroll down the panel and click on “Resumes and CVs” Click on “Basic Resumes” Choose a type and click on it. Click on the “Download Button” Click on the text boxes in each section and enter your information. Choose “Save as” to save your resume.
