4. I have looked at a major artist’s Digi pak to contrast with an indie bands digi pak. The
significance of this has allowed me to explore the way in which these two types of
bands present themselves on their digi pack, in order for me to decided how I want
to represent my band. After looking at Britney Spear’s digipack, her image is
dominant on three out of the 6 sides to her digipack. The image of her is presented
rather seductively and her blonde her fills alot of the composition, toning with the
background of the image, representing a sensuous layout. This is therefore enticing
for those who would consider buying her digipack. In contrast I looked at Oasis’s
digipack an indie band. They are not shown on the digipack and instead an object in
this a guitar, represents them. The use of the guitar represents the bands type of
music without showing the band themselves. Their cover therefore showcases them
in a completely different way to Britney Spear’s digipack, but however it still
represents themselves. Furthermore for both digipack the artists name and album is
on the front cover and the spine of the pack.
