2. How effective is the combination of the main product and ancillary tasks? - Use of still shots from the video used in the digi-pack / magazine advert? a) How did you create your brand identity across the three promotional pieces? (ancillary tasks x 2 and music video) Brand identity was obviously the red hand – it was clear to us as soon as the we heard the music that the ‘red hands’ was definitely going to be a part of the video, we had an idea to have a red hand print on someone’s face but after trying so many different times it was really hard to get this right. We then put the hand print on to paper and this features constantly throughout as well as on the cover of the magazine advert and the digi-pak.

4. House colours? House colours are so obvious throughout the video and the promotion pack, it features throughout the song title also, using red black and white worked extremely well and was simple and stylised to create something effective. We also used grey through out of ancillary tasks this was because we used a selection tool to select the colour of the photographs (images we used for our backgrounds) this came up a greyish colour so we decided to stick with that.

6. Genre characteristics to represent the genre of music & Use of images Genre characteristics to represent the genre of music; We didn’t use any transitions throughout the music video this was because of the beat throughout the video. The tempo of the song is very fast and having transitions would slow the pace of our stop frame down. Having fast cuts to each different photograph it made things easier, we didn’t have any trouble matching cuts to the beat and looks really effective. Use of images; we used our own images constantly throughout the ancillary tasks and video. We decided to have the red hand throughout all three of our tasks, as we are selling the music on the star image motif which is the red hand. We have the red hand appear lots of times in the music video and also appears on the digipak. The red hand is also a visual aid towards the star image motif because it is simple it will be recognised.
7. Use of Industry Information & Use of still images Industry Information - We have chosen Island Records as our record label for our unsigned artist - Evelyn Burke. This was because after previous studies in to Island Records we know that Chris Blackwell the founder of the artist was more than welcoming to new and up coming artists with a different edge and style to their. Me and my partner both felt this would be the most appropriate Label to work with Use of still images; we used a selected few still images from our music video to help create our ancillary tasks, we used them to promote our album. We used appropriate images to create our ancillary tasks, including our red hand.
