3. Introduction
This presentation will be going to focus on the
communicable and non-communicable type of diseases
which can either spread from people to people or can not be
spread around. Some examples were given from each of the
types with the biological reasons for causing these diseases
in people.
4. Communicable diseases
Communicable diseases are those
diseases which gets spread in
people with contact to each other
and the diseases gets onto that
person also who comes in-contact
with the infected person too
(Baird et al. 2017). The
communicable disease generally
transmits from one person to the
other through various numbers of
ways which includes contact with
the blood of infected person, any
kind of body fluids, breathing,
coughing or sneezing.
5. Types of Communicable Diseases
There are various types of
diseases which are
communicable and spread in
very little time from the
infected person to some other
person (Baird et al. 2017).
Some of them can be such as :
Influenza
Covid-19 (Corona virus)
Chicken pox
Measles
Pertussis
Ebola
6. Biological causes of communicable
diseases : Covid-19
The human corona virus infection
mainly is a respiratory, nervous and
intestinal system disease. Pal and
Bhadada (2020) suggesed that there
are mainly six types of corona viruses
namely HKU1, 229E, OC43, NL63,
MERS-CoV & SARS-CoV in
humans. The root causes of Covid-
19are like –
Coughing
Sneezing
Breathing
Touching any contaminated surface
Not washing hands regularly
7. Biological causes of communicable
diseases : Chicken pox
The main reason of chickenpox is
the varicella-zoster virus, and it is
the same virus that brings herpes
zoster also. The root causes of
chickenpox are like –
Getting in contact with any
person suffering from the
disease
Using any substances of the
infected person like bed sheets,
towels, handkerchiefs and other
things (Kadri et al. 2017)
Saliva, sneezing or coughing of
the infected person
Coming in contact with the
blister fluids of chickenpox
8. Non-Communicable diseases
A non-communicable disease or NCD is that disease which is not
transferred or transmitted from person to person directly. Pal and
Bhadada (2020) suggesed that the non-communicable diseases
are also known as the chronic diseases which are mainly acute
and don’t passes from one person to another. It is a non-infectious
health disease that stays for a quite long duration.
9. Types of Non-Communicable
Diseases
There are different types of
chronic or non-
communicable disease such
as :
Heart attacks and strokes
Cancer
Asthma
Pulmonary diseases
Diabetes
Cataracts
Alzheimer’s
Kidney and lung diseases
10. Biological causes of non-communicable
diseases : Heart attacks and strokes
Heart attacks and strokes are
acute and chronic diseases which
are long termed and impacts with
highly negative effects and
conditions (Tawhid-Al-Islam et
al. 2017). The root causes of
heart attacks and strokes are like
–
Continued high blood pressure
High LBL (bad) cholesterol
Excessive smoking
Obesity
Unhealthy food habits
Diabetes
11. Biological causes of non-
communicable diseases : Diabetes
Diabetes is such a health condition where
the blood glucose level of a person
becomes too high for a very long period
affecting the whole body of that person in
different ways and by bringing out various
other diseases from it (De Boer et al. 2017).
The root causes can be like –
Excessive high weight with increased
fatty tissues in the body
Inactivity of the body
Family history
Age
Excessive stress and tension
High blood pressure
Polycystic ovary syndrome
Gestational diabetes
12. Conclusion
This presented here showed the difference between the
communicable and non-communicable diseases, their root
causes , their types and their features and reasons of
occurring and the other details with a clear conception of
both the types of diseases.
