After logging in to Moodle, you can see a calendar on the right-hand side of the screen. The highlighted dates on the calendar indicate
that events (which include all kinds of activities) of your courses are to be held on those dates.
Click on the month to access Calendar.

You may also access the Calendar via the front page of your course. Click on Go to calendar to access it.

By default, details of the events of all courses that you have enrolled in in a semester will be display in the calendar by month.

If you want to view the events of one particular course only,
select the course from the pull-down menu named Detailed Month View.

To view the details of the events on a particular date, simply click on the date. In this case,
we click on 24th August.

Details of the events on the date such as assignments’ information are shown.
Click on Calendar at the top of the page to go back to the month view.

Dates are highlighted in different colors to indicate the different sources of the events (i.e. the parties which created the events).
These sources include the HKIEd Moodle system (Global), a course’s teacher (Course), group participants (Group) and you (User).

The date marked with a black outline indicates the current date that you are using Moodle.
In this case, the user accessed the Moodle calendar on 23th of August 2012.

If you want to add an event to the calendar, click on New Event.

Enter the name of the event in the Name field. Description is optional.

Then choose the date and the time of the event from the pull-down menus.

You can enter the duration of the event or leave it with the default setting, Without duration.

If the event is to be repeated weekly, you can enter the number of times that the event is to be repeated in the Repeats field.

Then click on Save changes to finish.

The event that you created is highlighted in blue.

You can edit or delete your event by clicking the Edit icon ( ) or Delete icon ( ) respectively.

Click on the month to return to the month view.

The event you added is shown in the calendar.
