Hidden meaning in

however with
back to camera.
Company
Names/
Important

Which is very
unusual.

2. Looking at “Bastille” Artwork and print work it Is clear they all follow
the same simplistic idea. All covers have the same typography. The font
for the artists name has the title of the track merged into the name.
The interesting part is the “triangle” used in the bastille font and what
hidden connotations may be associated with the band. This triangle is
used for the letter “A” in both their band name and tracks. So if we
were too use the track “These Streets” this triangle would only have to
be used in the artists name.
The actual connotations behind the “triangle” used in their artist
names has not been announced what it is there for however their
audience have rumoured that it is a “Triangle of reference” also known
as the “Triangle of meaning” which is a model of how linguistic symbols
are related to the objects they represent.
The band however are absent on the artwork. However there are
people used on the covers. These characters are both present and
absent on the print work. Usually with their back to the camera.
The background image is normally a photo which has been associated
with the music video. E.g. “Pompeii” the single print work features a
screenshot from the Official Music Video.
The print work is very simple and if we were too create a video for one
of their tracks we would have to be aware too carry on the ideas
portrayed.

These are four
print works of
different singles
of f the “Bad
Blood” album.
They all follow
the same
format of the
track name
joined into the
artists name.
The images in
the “Things we
lost in the fire”
and “Bad
Blood” covers
is from the
official music
video .
They also follow
through the
connotations of
the “triangle of
meaning”
4. For the tour posters the print work is also very simple and carries on the ideas portrayed in previous
covers and music videos. The typography used for the tour dates is also the same font used in all
of their over digi-paks. The layout is also very simple with a background Image and the Artist name
placed on the top, with the tour dates at the bottom.
5. Our print work will be solely decided on what happens in our video. If we keep their theme going, we
would have too be aware that the background image is related to our video and our foreground
typography is the same as the other digi paks. This is a rough drawn up image of an idea of what the
print work would look like if we were too choose the track “These Streets” .
If we were to
use this track
the typography
would be the
same as the
other print
work, as well as
using the same
triangle to
connote the
same meta-
narratives
again.
Artist in the
background
both present
and absent.
