2. The tag line of my poster is
‘she will get her revenge’
because this is used on the
inter-titles in the horror
trailer. This way, the
phrase becomes a selling
point. I used a black font
with a white outer glow to
give it a spooky, eerie feel.
It also goes with my overall
colour theme of black and
white.
This shot is an extreme close-up. I
chose for my poster to be this type
of shot as it makes audience
members feel uncomfortable to
look at which is the whole idea of
horror posters. This image makes
audiences feel like their personal
space is being invaded by the
character, and because the
character is “dead” and has come
back as a ghost, it becomes even
more horrifying.
The poster uses low key
lighting. I decided to do this
because it is a very common
convention of horror and it
adds to the scary,
uncomfortable atmosphere.
The darkness of the shot
connotes mystery, fear of the
unknown and mostly death
and fear of death. I feel this
image suggests these
connotations really well.
When looking at any other
horror poster, the actors
names are always in a
straight line. I decided to
be conventional with this
so that it clearly shows a
poster format. The font I
chose for most of the
poster is a straight, bold
font which is very
traditional, just so that all
of the attention is on the
close-up image as that is
what is selling the film.
The font I chose for ‘Lullaby’ I
think works really well with the
poster and message of the
film. It is kind of fading (similar
to the font used in my trailer).
It suggests the transition on
the female characters life.
Although she is dead, she is
still partly there in spirit. Just
like this font, it isn’t all there,
there are bits missing but it’s
visible.
The billing block at the
moment is there so it is
obvious to audiences that
this is a poster. The icon in
the left hand corner is the
icon for my made up film
company. Of course it has
the certificate as well. All of
these things are just for
advertising purposes and I
made them small, again, so
her face stands out.
