scientific method to know anything. So basically, if something can 't be observed, tested, or
experimented, then it does not exist. This is why there is no room for spirituality because it can 't be

My Worldview : Overview Of My Worldview
My worldview defines how I make decisions and how I filter the events that I encounter in my life.
It is a good idea to take stock in what you believe and why you believe it occasionally. My
worldview uses Christian principles to understand how I need to act in the world around me. I have
had many people that have helped shape my worldview, most especially my parents Mary and
Robert, and my maternal grandmother Hazel. I believe that the Bible's depiction of creation is a
better fit for what I experience in the world that sciences evolutionary model. As Paul reminds us in
Romans 1:20, God created the world and everything in it. When I look around the physical world, I
have no doubt that I am seeing what God created. The universe, earth, animals, and man are too
perfectly formed not to have been a planned creation. The more I learn about science and how
intricate the cells of the bodies work, the more I know that God created all of this. In Genesis 1:1 it
says that God spoke and It was. This is the foundation for all meaning. Creation, purpose, design,
and life are all created by God and are consistent with science, history, and my own personal

the difference between good and evil. When we study the Bible, we learn very early on that man is

What is a Worldview?
A worldview is a person's core beliefs. It comprises of "one's collection of presuppositions,
convictions and values from which a person tries to understand and make sense out of the world and
life" (MacArthur, 2006). Weider and Gutierrez (2011), sums up worldview as "1. A personal
philosophy of life 2. A framework a person brings to decision making 3. A filter or lens which a
person uses to interpret life and the world around them". (p. 51). Essentially, a worldview is a
combination of what worldly individuals believe to be true that ultimately becomes the driving force
behind every emotion, decision and action.

CHRISTIAN THEISM
Orthodox Christians believe in a triune, personal God. God is both transcendent and immanent.
Meaning, He exists independent of His creation and exerts full sovereignty over it but that He is also
omnipresent and entirely involved in His world.
What are the basic assumptions about the nature of reality? Theism views reality as both material
and spiritual. Theism asserts that God is volitional, moral, creative, purposive, rational, and
knowable to other persons. Transcendent means that God is distinct form the universe. He is able

Since God cannot be known and has not created humans out of any kind of personal love,
interpreting information through an objective standard escapes us; for God would be the only
objective consciousness and any attempt to make connection is null and void. Since God has no bias
for humans, place for objectivity is without reach. Therefore, they hold knowledge even more
tentatively, because they do not ultimately know the mind behind the machine, and have no innate
revelation from God. Even still, they believe that the natural laws of God can be known through
reason.
How do they know what is right and wrong? Right and wrong can be very illusive. Since God has
abandoned his creation, humans are left with merely a "cause" to reason by. This "cause" has no
personal nature of goodness by which to draw ethics from, nor does it have an understanding of
good or evil. Rather, everything just is, just as it ought to be: normal. Therefore, declaring
something wrong is no more than a personal divergence of the predetermined universe. But this is
impossible, because humans are not created to be personal, and declaration of wrong is simply a
predetermined cause of the universe. However, they believe that God has somehow established a
moral law in the order of things. This they are not entirely certain of, but believe it to be true.

would define worldview as a person's specific bias or opinion on topics that influence how they look
at the world and their surroundings from what is there to what is expected to be there. Now that I

My Worldview
My worldview is formed by my relationships, challenges and choices I have made, environmental
surroundings and my family influence, all which have impressed on me my views of the world.
According to Merriam–Webster's Learners Dictionary, the definition of "Worldview" is "The way
someone thinks about the world". Although this simple phrase seems to the point, it is so very

In that sense my worldview is very Christian. The Secular Humanist comes in when it comes to the
idea of organized religion. I dislike the pressure organized religion puts on people to attend church
and tithe to the Church to keep it "alive". I merely see it as someone playing the "middle man" to
gain wealth by way of God. I speak to God in my own way– I thank him daily each time I walk
outside and see the children I was able to birth, healthy and happy, enjoying nature because He
created it.
One of the most recent events that has helped change and evolve my worldview was bringing
children into the world. This was something I had always thought of and unfortunately pregnancy
was not easy for me. I lost many in the task of birthing two, who were strong but had a hard road
from the minute they were born. Being Catholic denomination, we are not to use birth control or
"lesson the fruits of my husband loins". The two children that lived and grew were all my body
could handle. The medications I had to take during pregnancy wasted me away before my family's
eyes. Another child could have killed me. Because of this, my husband decided to have a vasectomy
procedure to make sure that we didn't have any more children so he wasn't left to raise them alone.
The priest of our church was not happy with this at all. He lectured us about this and made us feel

Analysis Of The Enduring Chill By Flannery Oconnor
Flannery O´Connor is considered as one most influence Christian American writers of the XX
century and author of the revealing story "The Enduring Chill" as part of the book "Everything That
Rises Must Converge." According to Helen Ruth Andretta, English Department Professor Emerita of
York College, Flannery O´Connor is known overall for being a Roman Catholic writer, who in her
stories explores the complexity of morality and ethics through a Christian worldview. A faithful
example of this style is "The Enduring Chill," work written a year before of his death and developed
in a Farm in the time of Slavery on The United States (Andretta). This Southern Gothic style story
establishes its plot mainly in the spiritual and corporal affection of the twenty–five years old
prideful protagonist Asbury Fox, and the conflict with his sixty years old mother. The story
positions Asbury as the victim and villain of the story, that surrounded by pain looks for significant
moment in his miserable life. However, in an unexpected final on his "deathbed," he ends up
achieving the redemption by the grace of God through the Holy Ghost.
The story of the "The Enduring Chill" through the life of Asbury seems to describe the Biblical
worldview of fall and redemption, which Albert M. Wolters explains widely in the article "Fall" of

Plato is remembered as one of the worlds best known philosophers who along with his writings are
widely studied. Plato was a student of the great Greek philosopher Socrates and later went on to be
the teacher of Aristotle. Plato's writings such as "The Republic", "Apology" and "Symposium"
reveal a great amount of insight on what was central to his worldview. He was a true philosopher as
he was constantly searching for wisdom and believed questioning every aspect of life would lead
him to the knowledge he sought. He was disgusted with the common occurrence of Greeks not
thinking for themselves but simply accepting the popular opinion also known as doxa. Plato
believed that we ought to search for and meditate on the ideal versions of beauty, justice, wisdom,

From what I know, Planet Earth consists of seven continents. Collectively, those seven continents
are home to approximately seven billion humans. And each human has their own unique worldview.
Defined as, the bias or presumption a person holds as a result of the environment, culture, or faith
they live in, worldview influences how everyone responds to life's pertinent questions. (A Christian

what I believe about God, creation, humankind, epistemology, and ethics. Whilst comparing my

can agree on. Many peoples' worldviews are mainly concerned with materialistic things because
there is no supernatural being; it is merely an arrangement of particles. However, I believe that the

Understanding the Biblical Worldview There are lots of non–Christian or secular worldviews. I
believe that there is one biblical or Christian worldview. This could be referred to as the basic
Christian worldview. It reflects the basic principles of Christianity. Dr. Henderson gives a brief
explanation of authentic and holistic Christianity in his presentation. I agree with what Dr.
Henderson said, "authentic Christianity is Christ–centered and biblically–based".[1] My Christian
worldview should be characterized, by who I am in Christ and what I know to be biblical. Romans
12:2 says, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." [2] I want God
to shape my worldview, rather than have it shaped by this world.
Dr. Henderson said, "A worldview contains a person's answers to the most important questions in
life."[3] Christians are given the answers to those questions through the Word of God. We believe
that the Word of God is authoritative. Dr. Henderson said, "The Bible is the Word of God, as
Scripture, as what has been written down, as the Holy Spirit enabled and guided holy people to
write it."[4] As a Christian, I should seek to apply the Word of God to every aspect of my life.

If one believes in the naturalistic worldview, there will be no value or purpose to life. We will have
no explanation for why we humans are here. In fact we will have no explanation for why any
maternal thing is here. Humans and other material things would be on the same level. Humans
would not be anymore more special then a rat, a flower, or stone. Also one would have no goal to
reach. He would be basically floating along subject to chance. In naturalism, there is no one to set
the standards for ethics. So where do their ethics come from? Some of the philosophers have set
standards like when Epicurus said he was not talking about sensual pleasure when he said our
highest good was to attain pleasure. The question is though, who are they to set these standards?
They have as much to base their statements off of as the man done the road who says it is okay to
attain sensual pleasures. So if something feels good to someone or makes them happy, what is to
stop them from doing it. When we take a look at abortion, what could be wrong with it? It is only

The second manifestation of God's grace is his saving grace. This is the unearned favor that God
gives to you for your regeneration and sanctification. It is the grace that allows you to be made new
and to be set apart as holy. Romans 3:10–11 tells us that no one is holy and no one seeks for God. It
is because of this that we desperately need saving grace. The idea of saving grace is unique to
Christianity because in no other worldview do we see the Creator of the universe stepping in to do
the work for us. Our saving grace is Christ himself. Because he is fully God and fully man, he is the

eternal life. There is an aspect of dependence, trust, and investment that is involved in the idea of
grace through faith. In addition, one of the most important things that sets Christianity apart from

The understanding of the concept "Pluralism" is when different people from different class,
religions, race, culture, organizations, etc., are living together in a society and they continue to
practice their different traditions or interest, rather than just one group or culture determining how
