2. This system is one of the most important in the
body.
It is made up of 3 main parts:
•The heart
•The lungs
•The blood vessels
This system is also known as the cardiovascular
system.

3. 1.The heart pumps blood to the lungs
2.The lungs remove the carbon dioxide
from the blood and refill it with oxygen.

4. 3. The heart then pumps the blood
around the body.

5. • Arteries: are thick blood vessels FEELYOUR PLUSE!
• Veins: are thick blood vessels.
• When you get shots your doctor has to find your
veins.
• Capillaries: are thin blood vessels, they are small to
allow them to reach every cell in the body.

6.  Blood is the fluid that keeps our bodies going.
 It carries oxygen and other chemicals to
where they are needed in the body.
 95 % of all blood cells are produced in the
bone marrow.

7.  Red blood cells: carry oxygen throughout
the body
 White blood cells: which fight and protect
us from getting sick
 Platelets, which are cells that help you stop
bleeding if you get a cut
 Plasma, a yellowish liquid that carries
nutrients, hormones, and proteins
throughout the body
