The biodiesel produced by transesterification of triglycerides with alcohol, is the newest form of energy that has attracted the attention of many researchers due to various advantages associated with their uses. A response surface methodology was used to analyze the effect of temperature, catalyst concentration, and molar ratio of methanol to oil on biodiesel production. The maximum yield for the production of methyl esters of sunflower oil was predicted to be 98.181% under the condition of temperature of 48 °C, molar ratio of methanol to oil 6.825:1, catalyst concentration of 0.679% by weight, and stirring.

response surface based on a level five, central composite design of three
variables is used to analyze the effect of the interaction of the variables
transesterification reaction such as temperature, concentration of catalyst
and the molar ratio of methanol to oil performance biodiesel. Linear terms of
temperature and catalyst concentration followed by the linear term ratio of oil
to methanol, the quadratic terms of the catalyst concentration and ratio of oil

3. The exponential growth of the world population would ultimately lead to
increased demand for energy in the world. Oil is a nonrenewable energy
source, which means that such resources are finite and fossil fuels are
exhausted in continuous use. Both resource scarcity and rising gasoline
prices have led to the results of new sources of alternative and renewable
energy [1]. Biodiesel fuel is defined as a compound of fatty acid monoalkyl
esters and long chain derived from vegetable oils or animal fats [2]. Non-
toxic, biodegradable and available, has a high heat value, high oxygen
content (10 to 11%) and contains no sulfur and aromatic compounds [3].
Biodiesel is a product derived from the plant, and containing oxygen in the
molecule, so it is cleaner than gasoline and diesel [4] fuel. Several studies
have shown that biodiesel fuel is better than fossil diesel in terms of engine
performance, emissions reduction, lubricity, and environmental benefits [5,6].
Materials supply current biodiesel production or alkyl ester monkey are
vegetable oil, animal oil and fats microalgae. In their midst, vegetable oil is
being used as a sustainable commercial raw material. Among the more than
350 oil crops, identified only sunflower, safflower, soybean, cotton, canola,
and peanut oils are considered as possible alternative fuels for diesel [7]
engines.
