The document describes the Future Classroom, a learning space created by the Faculty of Human Development to focus on pedagogical design. It aims to empower learning experiences through available technologies and provide diverse instructional approaches suited to different learners' abilities and needs. The Future Classroom contains four hubs - Real-World Education, Self Learning, Teacher-Assistance, and Gamification - which incorporate different technologies and pedagogies. An additional Artificial Intelligence hub is planned to respond to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The overall goal is to cultivate higher-order thinking skills through empowered learning experiences.

2. The Idea
● There are a lot of exemplar learning spaces
out there.
● These spaces are often designed
fashionably, with aim to attract visitors to use
the space.
● We at the Faculty of Human Development
are more concerned with the question of
pedagogical design that goes into building
such space.
● This is the reason for building the Future
Classroom, and what sets us apart from
other learning spaces.
3. “Learning Empowered”
● Empowering Learning experiences is a way
to think about what learning engagement
might be.
● The concept posit a stronger note on the
learner and learning in such a way that
we design instructions that may empower
their learning experiences and engagement
via available technologies.
4. Learning Empowered (cont.)
Thus, the Future Classroom concept may provide a platform for learners to
cultivate higher-order, creative and innovative thinking skills through
engagement of empowered learning.
5. “Diverse Instructions”
The hubs in the Future Classroom are
designed to provide learners with different
approaches to learning, involving skills like
(but not limited to):
● acquiring contents;
● processing contents;
● constructing materials;
● making sense of ideas;
● developing instructional materials; and
● assessing materials.
6. Diverse Instructions (cont.)
● Here, the Future Classroom ensures that
every learner has an opportunity to
express themselves, learn, construct,
and share their learning experiences,
using any approaches that are best suited
for their ability and needs.
7. The 4 Hubs
The Future Classroom has four hubs, each serving
different technologies and requires different pedagogy.
The hubs have been designed to serve a multitude of
different style of instructions. Learners are able to move the
equipment around (except for the video conference
systems), making the settings of the Future Classroom to be
more flexible to serve the different instructional and learning
needs. The four hubs are:
● Real-World Education
● Self Learning
● Teacher-Assistance
● Gamification
8. The 4 Hubs (cont.)
● Equipped with access to the Internet, providing further
reach for learners to the universal and
multi-dimensional information on the World Wide Web.
● The combination of technologies and differentiated
pedagogies makes up what we envisioned, the
empowered learning experience, and this sits at the core
of our values and practices here at the Future
Classroom.
11. ● Additional hub will be introduced i.e. the
Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) Hub.
● This hub will include technologies such
as:
○ A.I. in Education
○ Virtual Reality
○ Augmented Reality
○ The Internet of Things
● As a response to the Fourth Industrial
Revolution
