This document discusses blended learning and flexible learning and teaching options. Blended learning combines the best aspects of face-to-face and online instruction, using classroom time for interactive experiences while providing online multimedia content for students to access anywhere. The VU Draft Blended Learning Strategy recognizes the need for organizational commitment, staff development time to create quality online resources, and recognition of teaching done outside the classroom. Existing flexible learning resources on WebCT can provide examples of blending online and offline learning.
