Why Is Jeffrey Dahmer Wrong
Jeffrey Dahmer did a horrible man who did horrible things. Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested and
sentenced 15 consecutive life sentences and was forced to live in a mental institution for a year.
From there he went to jail, and two years later was killed by his cellmate. Died on November 28,
1994, Jeffrey Dahmer killed 17 men and boys. Jeffrey Dahmer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
in 1960 where he lived with mother Joyce, and father Lionel. Dahmer had, what seemed to be, a
normal childhood. He was a happy and energetic child until the age of four when he had a surgery
for a double hernia. After the surgery something happened and Dahmer was no longer the same boy
he was before. Dahmer's mother gave birth to another boy, the family moved quite ... Show more

The person may have a mental disorder, or something neurologically wrong with them. For
example, they could think that people are talking to them in their head and telling them to kill
someone. A person could also have had a rough childhood which causes them to kill as a release of
anger or sadness. A person could kill for revenge, money, alcohol, or drugs. Someone who kills has
to have something wrong with them. Who can kill just someone for no reason? Jeffrey Dahmer was
arrested on July, 22 1991 when other residents of the apartment building he was living in
complained about a horrid smell coming from his apartment. When the police arrived, they
immediately arrested Dahmer and searched his apartment. When they went through his apartment
they found the genitals of 9 men and boys stuffed in containers in his fridge. There were also the
skeletons of men and boys in his deep freeze. Dahmer pleaded guilty and was sentenced to fifteen
consecutive life sentences. Dahmer also pleaded insanity for the murders of 17 men and boys. He
was required to be admitted to a mental institution for two years. Two years after being in jail,
Dahmer's cellmate, Christopher Scarver, fatally beat Dahmer. Scarver was Dahmer's cellmate and
also a murderer. Scarver also killed another inmate named Jesse Anderson. Dahmer was 34 years
old when he was murdered. He lived from May 21, 1960 to November 28,

Jeffrey Dahmer Research Paper
Jeffrey Dahmer Research Paper 08/29/2012 Introduction Jeffrey Dahmer was a notorious serial
killer in the late 70's throughout the early 90's. What made him stand out from most serial killer's
was what he did to the bodies of his victims. During this research paper, I will cover his childhood
life, what led to his lifestyle of killing and cannibalism and also the crimes that were committed
during his murderous acts. I will also compare what theories relate to Jeffrey Dohmer and what
could possibly be the reason why he did what he did. Childhood life Jeffrey Dahmer was born in
Milwaukee on May 21, 1960 with two loving parents by the name of Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. He

He had sex with all of his victim's before and sometimes after killing them. Final Murder/ Arrest In
May of 1990, he moved out of his grandmother's house and into the apartment that later became
notorious for his killings. He committed four more murders before the end of 1990 and two more in
April of 1991, and another in May of 1991 (answers.com). On May 27, 1991, 14 year old Konerak
Sinthasomphone was seen on the street, wandering naked, obviously under the influence of drugs
and bleeding heavily. Two females from the neighborhood spotted him and called 911. Dahmer
approached and tried to convince the women he was ok and attempted to take the boy away. The
women stopped him until police arrived. Dahmer told responding police the Konerak was his 19
year old boyfriend and they had an argument while drinking. The police were convinced of
Dahmer's story and they released the boy back to him against the two women's will. Later that night,
Dahmer killed and dismembered Konerak's body and kept his skull as a souvenir (answers.com). In
this particular murder, Dahmer was also guilty of false imprisonment and kidnapping. The 14 year
old boy Konerak was attempting to escape from Dahmer until he convinced the police that
everything was ok and proceeded to take the drugged boy back with him. At this point kidnapping
took place because Konerak was restricted from

Jeffrey Dahmer Biography
Jeffrey Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960 and died on November 28, 1994. From behind closed
doors, it seemed like Dahmer lived a pretty regular life, but little did people know, he was good at
hiding secrets. Jeffrey Dahmer murdered seventeen young men in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area,
and will go down in history as one of the most notorious killers of all time.
According to most people, nothing to insane happened in Dahmer's early childhood. He was more
quiet than most students in his class and could be considered an outcast. Jeffery didn't seem to care
about regular hobbies or any kind of interactions with other people from age 10–15. Dahmer was
very interested in dead animals. He would ride his bike around the neighborhood picking up roadkill

The things he would do to his victims became increasingly more disturbing such as necrophilia and
injecting their brain with acid or boiling water. Jeffrey Dahmer met a man named Tracy Edwards
who was 31 years old at the time. Jeffrey tried to force Edwards into the bedroom, and a fight broke
out. Dahmer had a butcher knife but Tracy managed to get free and run out into the street. Oddly
enough, Tracy happened to wave down a cop car and told them about the incident. Edwards showed
the cops where the knife was, and while searching Dahmer's apartment, police found pictures of
dead bodies which lead to the arrest of Jeffrey Dahmer ("Jeffrey Dahmer").
What officers found in Jeffrey Dahmer's apartment was completely disturbing. All kinds of body
parts were found throughout the home, including, hands, heads, and different organs. Skulls were
placed around the apartment as decoration, as other skulls were found in the refrigerator (Weston
50).
On January 30th, 1992, Jeffrey Dahmer was found not guilty to 17 murder charges because of his
insanity. Trial took place, and Dahmer was charged with 15 different murders, and was declared
sane. Dahmer wished for his own death after receiving 15 life terms, or 957 years in prison ("Jeffrey

When Dahmer entered the first grade, Lionel noticed Dahmer had become very shy and showed a
general lack of self–confidence. Jeffrey became distant, in comparison to his outgoing self earlier in
his life. At age 15, Dahmer would ride around with plastic bags collecting animal remains for his
own personal cemetery. He would strip the flesh from the bodies of dead animals that he had found.
Dahmer had a fascination with stripping the flesh off dead animals. Dahmer had pets of his own, but
had no means of hurting them. Dahmer soon became more isolated which soon brought him to
fulfill his fantasies of having sex with dead people and creatures. Section IV: Dahmer's Crimes
Dahmer seemed like a very disorganized killer. He seemed much like a particular killer. Dahmer
wasn't very smart. He was below average intelligence, low or average birth status, was socially
immature, and he seldom dated (Pringle). Dahmer hung out at gay bars and picked up homosexuals,
particularly African–Americans. At the crime scenes, he left his victims dismembered. Dahmer
would lead the victims back to his house, drug them, sexually assault the victims, and then
dismember them. Dahmer would use acid to take away the skin from the skulls of the victims and
then keep these skulls as trophies for his fantasies. Dahmer would also dismember the bodies of the
victims and keep them in his apartment for safekeeping. When the police

Jeffrey Dahmer Motives
"In the beginning, that was my most profound admission, that there was something missing in Jeff,
the part that should have cried out, Stop!–Lionel Dahmer (Jeffrey's father)" (qtd. in LaBrode).
Jeffrey Dahmer, the son of Lionel Dahmer, was a serial killer who lured his unsuspecting victims to
his house, savagely killed them, and then cannibalized their corpses. He is only one of the many
serial killers who have terrorized our world. They are an example of the evil lurking in humanity.
These murderers commit acts so horrendous that it's hard to imagine how anyone could be capable
of these acts. Many who study these people, and the murders they commit, wonder how that
behavior is established within them. There are two major answers that emerge: ... Show more

It is less known, however, that this is a result of psychopathy. "Psychopathy is a personality disorder
manifested in people who use a mixture of charm, manipulation, intimidation, and occasionally
violence to control others, in order to satisfy their own selfish needs" ("Serial Murder"). It's simple
to see that many serial killers suffer from psychopathy because many serial killer's personalities
incorporate these traits. The fact that they are psychopaths largely explains why they can kill
without living with the extreme guilt others would feel; it provides an emotional barrier between

Jeffrey Dahmer: Serial Killer
With a total of 17 kills, Jeffrey Dahmer earned the title serial killer. Like many serial killers,
Dahmer used similar techniques of killing all his victims, and killing them all for with a similar
motive, or for the same reason. Motives can come from many different aspects of a person's' life,
ranging from influence in early childhood to social influences in later life. Typically, motive is what
makes a serial killer who they are and explains why they do what they do. This is what they are
known for, their drive, sometimes it can be described as their message. What was Jeffrey Dahmer's
reason? Born May 21st,1960, Dahmer was the first of two sons born to Joyce Annette and Lionel

where did this need for dominance come from? What could cause a person to have a feeling so
urgent that they would murder 17 times just to fulfill it? In his confessions, he also revealed that he

The Monster Within By Jeffrey Dahmer
The Monster Within, a documentary released in early 2002, follows the life of the world's most
notorious serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer. The documentary follows the life of Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer
told from his father's, Lionel Herbert Dahmer, side of things. Jeffrey Dahmer killed seventeen men,
had sex with their corpses, and ate them. It focuses on Dahmer's sexuality, his reason of doing these
things, and the timeline of his life and murders. There were many interesting facts used in the
documentary that really keeps the viewers mind focused, and surprised with every detail stated.
Jeffrey Dahmer stated that the flesh would be kept in acid from one to two weeks to decompose, and
become "jelly". This relates to the documentary because it described one of the many ways Dahmer
would keep his murders a secret. Dahmer's documentary also opened the conversation of child
predators, which Dahmer was, he prayed on all age's not just older men, but younger men. He got
away with it multiple times, the documentary discusses how child predators usually kill their
victims in fear they will go, and tell on their predator. In 1988, Dahmer lured a young man to his
home, but let him free due to his grandmother, whom he lived with at the time, arriving home
earlier. In this case one of Dahmer's youngest victim, Konerak Sinthasomphone, whom was the
younger brother of a male that Dahmer lured into his home in 1988 before his grandmother
interrupted, was drugged and taken into Dahmer's home.

Connor, and Tracy Edwards were among the witnesses and victims that testified about the events
that had transpired with Jeffrey Dahmer. The expert witnesses testified to Dahmer's confessions
during therapy and psychological sessions. These expert witnesses described their accounts in a
matter of fact style and remained straight to the point. Consequently, the younger victims of Dahmer
were very anxious and frightened throughout the testimonial process. The final victim, Tracy
Edwards, who had escaped from Dahmer, was poised when testifying and remained in a state of
melancholy. Throughout the process, Edwards anger was increasing, however he was able to control

Jeffrey Dahmer was born in May of 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His father was a chemist and
his mother was a homemaker. Dahmer was a normal child who enjoyed the normal childhood
activities. The shift in his personality started when he was four and had to undergo a hernia
operation. During this tough period of the surgery his mother was preoccupied with her own
troubles and his father was busy building his career in chemistry. After the surgery, his personality
began to change from being a jovial social child to a loner who was always withdrawn and
uncommunicative. Jeffrey then started showing little to no interest in making friends or having
hobbies, but would rather ride his bike around searching for dead animals. By his teenage years
Jeffrey was classified as an alcoholic. His drinking escalated and was a huge issue following high
school. His father made him enlist in the army, but he was kicked out due to alcoholism. His parents
separated when he was eighteen. While his father was off on a job one day, his mother packed up his

must have really liked Steve because when Hicks said that it was time he headed home, Dahmer
decided that he did not want his new friend going anywhere. Jeff picked up a weight lifting
dumbbell and struck Hick's in the back of the head. He then strangled him. Jeff then dragged the
body into the crawlspace, under the house where it stayed for a few days. Eventually the smell
became quite strong so Dahmer went down and cut the remains into pieces placing them into small
plastic bags. He then put the bags in the bushes behind the house, eventually burying them. After a

He carried the body parts in a large bag into his grandmother's basement where he took apart their
bodies and masterbated on the corpse before discarding the remaining parts. According to CNN,
Dahmer's killing spree lasted for 13 years. Most of his victims were African American gay men who
he would get drunk or drug before he proceeded to strangle them. Then perform sexual activities on
the bodies before he would dispose of them, often time keeping the skulls or genitals as souvenirs.
Dahmer's victim count accelerated over the following year, with 12 more lives taken in the same
manner as his previous victims. He also starting performing rituals such as taking pictures of the
bodies for remembrance, eating the victim's flesh and drilling in the the victims skulls while they
were still alive and infusing them with muriatic acid. Dahmer's luck finally came to an end after
killing four more men, when two police officers picked up a handcuffed man man wandering the
street. The man told police that he had been drugged and handcuffed by a "strange dude" he then
took the policemen to Dahmer's apartment where he claimed the that the knife dahmer was
threatening him with was in the bedroom, the officer entered the room to find the knife and came
across photos of dismembered bodied all around the floor of previous victims, they proceeded to
search Dahmer apartment and came across a head in the refrigerator, three more in the freezer, and
jars containing genitals. Given that the greater part of Dahmer's casualties were African American,
there were extensive racial tensions. His trial started in January not too far from where we live in

Jeffrey Dahmer, The Milwaukee Monster
Jeffrey Dahmer is one of the most well–known serial killers of all time. He earned this reputation by
his sick and twisted ways of killing and preserving his victim's body parts. From organizing bones
in filing cabinets to freezing internal organs for later consumption, Dahmer proved to be a very sick

Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1960. Although Dahmer did not have a horrible childhood, it was not an
ideal one. Jeffrey's mother, Joyce Dahmer was reported to have a rough pregnancy. Due to her
complications she suffered from post–partum depression, resulting in withdrawal from Jeffrey. At
the age of four he suffered from a double hernia. Although it was not a major surgical procedure
young Jeffrey was confused and alone due to the fact that no one ever comforted and explained to

as a barbed wire portrait of a devil minded teen with Divorcing and Neglectful parents. Dahmer was

least 17 men. After his arrest, law enforcement found inside his apartment several body parts, which
led to his confession about all the crimes he had committed. Dahmer described in great details how
he met, killed, and dismembered his victims, facilitating the work of the police. Studies and
assessments related and unrelated to these murders were able to create a psychological profile about
Dahmer, thus linking his killing spree and his actions with mental disorders. Investigators were able

This was heralded by many as the end of the insanity defense, as if someone who was as clearly
demented as Dahmer couldn't be found legally insane then the rate of success for such defense
would be minimal in other similar cases. During his trial, Dahmer conceded that he knew right from
wrong, and thus the main question referred to whether he was in control of himself or not every time
he killed someone. The basis for an insanity defense rests on the ability by the individual, or lack
thereof, to obey the laws, or to control himself due to a mental illness. Still, this role of will versus
the overwhelming impulse felt by the patient is not only controversial but difficult to prove, as it
was in Dahmer's case. The defense needed to demonstrate that Dahmer was mentally diseased, and
therefore unable to control himself. Their argument was based that due to Dahmer's necrophilia
impulses, he was overwhelmed by this impulse, which led him to kill and abuse his victims. For the
prosecution, it was clear that Dahmer had shown control every time by making definite choices as to
when and whom to kills. It was their position that no overwhelming impulse had been present, and
that his actions had been premeditated, same evidenced by Dahmer's purchases of drugs, weapons,
and destroys to destroy the remains of his victims, all well in advance of the actual killings. Because
of this, it was implausible that Dahmer was not able to control himself at the time of the killings,
especially in consideration of all the rational and well planned calculations he had made in
connection to them. Nonetheless, society was shocked, not only because of Dahmer's actions, but
because it was difficult for society to accept that someone who commit so many bizarre and
irrational actions, and still not be insane, which makes a potential serial killer out of any of

The divorce of Dahmer's parents heightened his suffering causing an increase in his social isolation
and withdrawn behavioral characteristics. Jeffrey was unable to keep control at this point in his life
and this was also the starting point for his murders as he committed his first murder within the same
year of his parents' divorce. Per Davis (1998), Dahmer explained this was when he first began to
have fantasies of killing people. Dahmer used killing as an outlet for himself while he attempted to
control his fears of abandonment, loneliness, and neglect. The time surrounding his parents' divorce
resulted in many changes for Dahmer that he had difficulty adjusting to, these were changes out of
his control and he was powerless. His life was crumbling around him and Dahmer's method of
gaining control was to control others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dahmer never kept his employment for long and most of them he was terminated from due to his
excessive alcoholism (Davis, 1998). In school, peers taunted him often for being strange, lonely, and
wild at times. During grade school teachers informed his parents that he was withdrawn and had
difficulty socializing with his peers (Davis, 1998). Also during grade school was when Dahmer
began to feel neglected by his parents after the birth of his brother David. Additionally, Jeffrey was
sexually assaulted at age 8–years–old, this trauma may be linked to his homosexuality and his initial
issues with intimacy. Dahmer began to drink alcohol by the eighth grade often reporting to classes
drunk, this continued throughout his life (Davis, 1998). By the time, he made it to high school,
Jeffrey was severely influenced by alcohol which caused him issues in school however; he did

Dahmer dismembered Hicks' body, put it in different bags and buried him in the woods behind his

such eminent aspect of his life that it caused him to drop out of his first term of college. Since he
was no longer attending school, Dahmer's father made him enlist in the army and he was deployed
to Germany in 1978. The tolls of the army did not help his drinking problem and he was discharged
because of it. After he returned from the army Dahmer went and dug up the body of his first victim,
he tore it apart even more and scattered the body through the woods once again. Although it took
him nine years Dahmer did strike again this time he picked his victim from a gay bar, the two went

Jeffrey Dahmer was an American serial killer who is responsible for taking the lives of seventeen
men and boys. From 1978 to 1991, Dahmer in particular lured gay African American men to his
home in exchange for sexual act and money but rather drugged them and strangled them. This type
of behaviour is an example of mission oriented type because Dahmer chose a certain group of
individuals to kill. He also engaged in sexual acts with the corpse after killing his victims before
dismembering them. This type of behavior is an example of lust killer who tortures and kills for

Jeffrey Dahmer, one of the most famous serial killers, was a sick and extremely twisted man. Rape,
necrophilia, dismemberment, and cannibalism were all involved in Dahmer's murders. Jeffrey
Dahmer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 21, 1960. Dahmer had a fairly normal
childhood. His parents recall that Jeffrey was an "energetic and happy child." Dahmer's parents
believe something went wrong with their son at around the age of four after he had a surgery to try

involved dead animals and drinking. Eventually, his parents grew tired of his outrageous drinking

The year 1987 was when Dahmer started killing again; he picked up most of his victims at gay bars
and had sex with them then killed them right after. It wasn't until July 22, 1991 that police
eventually arrested Jeffrey Dahmer. That day Dahmer lured Tracy Edwards into his home and forced
Edwards into his bedroom with a butcher knife. Edwards struggled to escape Dahmer and did
successfully. When Tracy escaped he ran down the street and flagged down a police car. Police
found that there were pictures of dead bodies and dismembered limbs on his bedroom walls.
Investigations lead police to discover that Dahmer had several severed heads, dismembered remains,

Jeffrey Dahmer, otherwise known as the Milwaukee Monster, had started off with a psychotic
childhood. Jeffrey didn't take interest in things normal kids did. He was fascinated by the dead. He
collected animal and insect remains. Once Jeffrey crossed a dog who was killed at the road, he
"dismembered it, then cut the head off and impaled it on a stick near his house"
There was a part of nurture that turned him into who he was, however. When Jefrrey was struggling
with his sexual identity and his lust for men he isolated himself from his family. He began secretly
covering himself with homosexual pornography, and fantasies he had of homosexual lovers that he
couldn't tell others. Somewhere along the line these fantasies became twisted, he imagined his lover
dead beneath him. His killings were men he found attractive, and he killed to get a sexual kick out
of it. This also could've happened because Dahmer admits to watching lots of violent pornography.

The majority of his victims were strangled. Jeffrey Dahmer collected body parts from his victims as
a type of trophy and took pictures as souvenirs which were later used for his own sexual arousal.
This Modus Operandi (techniques used to commit a crime) was the exact way that Dahmer
destroyed America's trust in society. The public was fooled by Dahmer and his demeanor. Although
a little strange through his teen years, Dahmer seemed to be a normal American man from a small
town with no intent to kill a soul. Just as Dahmer's victims were tricked and lured by his quiet and
calm mannerisms, so was America. When discussing Jeffrey Dahmer, one question comes to mind;
"What would cause a man to completely lose his mind in such a terrible way?" According to
Criminal–Psychology.net, Dahmers murders were based on fantasies. These fantasies were often
about homosexual desires and sadistic needs to be in control of the victim. His methods of
controlling the bodies of his victims included injecting boiling water and acid into their skulls, none
of which worked but rather instantly killed them. Holding in these strong temptations is what may
have pushed Dahmer off the edge and into a twisted life of sick, uncontrollable killings.

Jeffrey Dahmer, famously known for killing 17 boys and men between 1978 and 1991, used new
skills and tricks to get away with these hanance crimes that the police would later use to improve
their skills. He was originally charged with felonies against child pornography and had a monthly

severe. If Dahmer had been checked at his house randomly while on patrol, the police would've

the numerous murders committed by Jeffrey Dahmer, he created a new approach and understanding
that law enforcers had to utilize to find criminals today. Beginning in the 1990's, crime numbers
began to fall and and there are many explanations for the decrease in crime. To begin, the police
began using new catching approaches by changing aspects such as an increase in enforcement of

For example, they could think that people are talking to them in their head and telling them to kill someone. A person could also have had a rough childhood which causes them to kill as a release of anger or sadness. A person could kill for revenge, money, alcohol, or drugs. Someone who kills has to have something wrong with them. Who can kill just someone for no reason? Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested on July, 22 1991 when other residents of the apartment building he was living in complained about a horrid smell coming from his apartment. When the police arrived, they immediately arrested Dahmer and searched his apartment. When they went through his apartment they found the genitals of 9 men and boys stuffed in containers in his fridge. There were also the skeletons of men and boys in his deep freeze. Dahmer pleaded guilty and was sentenced to fifteen consecutive life sentences. Dahmer also pleaded insanity for the murders of 17 men and boys. He was required to be admitted to a mental institution for two years. Two years after being in jail, Dahmer's cellmate, Christopher Scarver, fatally beat Dahmer. He committed four more murders before the end of 1990 and two more in April of 1991, and another in May of 1991 (answers.com). On May 27, 1991, 14 year old Konerak Sinthasomphone was seen on the street, wandering naked, obviously under the influence of drugs and bleeding heavily. Two females from the neighborhood spotted him and called 911. Dahmer approached and tried to convince the women he was ok and attempted to take the boy away. The women stopped him until police arrived. Dahmer told responding police the Konerak was his 19 year old boyfriend and they had an argument while drinking. The police were convinced of Dahmer's story and they released the boy back to him against the two women's will. Later that night, Dahmer killed and dismembered Konerak's body and kept his skull as a souvenir (answers.com). In this particular murder, Dahmer was also guilty of false imprisonment and kidnapping. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was heralded by many as the end of the insanity defense, as if someone who was as clearly demented as Dahmer couldn't be found legally insane then the rate of success for such defense would be minimal in other similar cases. During his trial, Dahmer conceded that he knew right from wrong, and thus the main question referred to whether he was in control of himself or not every time he killed someone. The basis for an insanity defense rests on the ability by the individual, or lack thereof, to obey the laws, or to control himself due to a mental illness. Still, this role of will versus the overwhelming impulse felt by the patient is not only controversial but difficult to prove, as it was in Dahmer's case. The defense needed to demonstrate that Dahmer was mentally diseased, and therefore unable to control himself. Their argument was based that due to Dahmer's necrophilia impulses, he was overwhelmed by this impulse, which led him to kill and abuse his victims. For the prosecution, it was clear that Dahmer had shown control every time by making definite choices as to when and whom to kills. It was their position that no overwhelming impulse had been present, and that his actions had been premeditated, same evidenced by Dahmer's purchases of drugs, weapons, and destroys to destroy the remains of his victims, all well in advance of the actual killings. Because of this, it was implausible that Dahmer was not able to control himself at the time of the killings, especially in consideration of all the rational and well planned calculations he had made in connection to them. Nonetheless, society was shocked, not only because of Dahmer's actions, but because it was difficult for society to accept that someone who commit so many bizarre and irrational actions, and still not be insane, which makes a potential serial killer out of any of ...
