Costumes, Actors and Props
Costumes:
Girl= black jeans, jumper, coat, boots
- She will be wearing this simple outfit to show that she isn’t that fussed
with her appearance, she also knows it will be cold outside so will need to
stay warm as she doesn’t know what is ahead of her.
Mum= jeans, slippers dressing gown
- I have decided to dress the mum in slippers and a dressing gown to show
she is a homely person. Due to her and her daughter arguing I want to
give across that she doesn’t really go out much so by wearing the dressing
gown and slippers which you wouldn’t tend to go out in, shows why she
possessive over the house.
Man= black jeans, black top/jumper, black shoes, black gloves
- I have decided to put the man in all black to show that he isn’t seen apart
from the outline of his body. This is because he will be shown chasing the
girl in the darkness and he wants to keep his identity hidden.
Actors:
Girl= I have chosen to use Gina who is a 15 year old girl who has a talent in acting
as the main role due to have the maturity to act at a high standard and give
across a thrilling opening two minutes to attract people into wanting to watch
the rest. Due to being a teenager she can convey the stereotypical ‘teenage
moodiness’ with her mum when she has the argument and can show that young
people don’t always think about the consequences of their actions.
Mum= I have chosen to use Gina’s actual mum in the opening two minutes as I
felt that when they have the argument, which is where all of the film started, they
would be able to give a dramatic feel to the film and also show a strong
connection. Jenny, Gina’s mum is also a talented actor so will be able to take on
the role seriously and professionally.
Man= I have chosen to use Matt, who is Gina’s older brother. This is because he
does a drama course at college so I felt that he would be capable of taking on a
serious role of a murderer. Again by being in relation to the girl he will have a
good connection with her and be able to play the role according to the directions.
Props:
- Rucksack
- Torch
- Bag of money (just coins)
