2. In my opening scene the characterof Kassim is playing the role of a hard
working elderly business man with a verystressful life, as weused mise en scene
tocreate connotations of what a typical business man would be like. For
examplehe is bossy and aggressivewhen he tells the kids to get out of the space.
Wewanted him to be a harsh and nasty business man so we made Kassim
where a suit and tie so it looks like hehas had a long bad day at work.
His costume represents his personality as on topeveryone would assume he is
nice and calm as he wears smart attire butunderneath it all the hehas major
issues.
3. In our opening scene the role of Jerry and I are playing the role of
ordinary school kids. We know that they are school kids asthey are
wearing typical school clothes such asjumper and trousers.
How ever I think some can say that they subverted the stereotype as
normally schoolteenagers tend to like toargue back but in this case
they listened straight away when Kassimtold them to go.
4. In our opening scene the character of Mujconforms to the
stereotype thatmost doctors are Asianashe is Asianhimself. He is
wearing a white lab coat so that the audience know he is
representing a role a doctor.
6. Thestereotypes I reinforced in my sequenceis old business menthrough the outfit and
behaviour. Mycharacterconformed to the stereotype that business menare angry,
carless andstrict. Also I played on the fact that he has comeacross a majorproblem
and instead of talking to someone heis bottling up. This is the case with most men as
they usually don’t want to open up about there problems and get help.
Another stereotype I included was the doctor. Most doctors are of a Asian background
and aren’tvery clear with their accentandthat is why I think I conformed that
stereotype.
I was trying to makethe doctor seemas helpful as possible as in real movies they
doctor is where the characters go to seek help and comfort, however in mymovie my
characterdoesn’t seek the help and bottles everything up.

8. Nick Cassidy plays the role of Sam in the film Man on the ledge. He isof
a smart professional job. But aslike my main character he is stubborn
and wanted things done hisway and wants everyone to answer to him
which are normally stereotypes of elderly businessmen which is why I
think my films main character conforms to that stereotype.
9. My film attracted to people my age as the
actors where all around my age and the people
around me. This meant that the reception was
good as they audience can feel more involved
with the character, as if you have characters of
a age of what your primary audience is chances
are you will gain their attention.
Comparing my actors to real actors I would say
the main character was similar to Will Smith as
he could play a guy with health issues and do
well.
