1. They both share the same hairstyle of
having their hair in a ponytail. We decided
to include this hairstyle for our character,
as she is a girl. This hairstyle portrays
them as innocent, naïve and still in their
childhood. Also we are going to add red
bows to portray her as a character that
has very feminine traits.
Moreover, they both their ethnic identity is white but we
want to subvert this as we want to use Asian/Bengali.
This is because Asian people are also a huge audience of
this genre so we felt it will be appropriate to include
them in our opening scene.
They are both wearing very
comfortable clothes e.g. a hoodie
and casual top. It shows they
don’t care about their
appearance yet and prefer
clothes that will be comfy. Also,
both characters are wearing light
colours e.g. purple, pink and
grey. Little girls commonly wear
these colours. Therefore we have
decided for our character (girl)
to wear a bright blouse and a
skirt. It will show her to be girly.
2. Both these characters are wearing a
shirt. The shirt shows them as being
mature and more masculine. The
colour of their shirt is blue, which
represents them as being boyish. We
decided that our character (little boy)
is going to wear a shirt.
3. What our girl character is going to wear
We have chosen a blouse and
skirt because it will portray her
as girly and innocent. We also
felt that by adding converses it
will reinforce her as fashionable
and stylish. It also seems
appropriate for a child to wear
converses or trainers outside
while they are playing as they
are children and need
comfortable shoes.
4. What our boy character is going to wear
We have chosen a casual shirt for
the boy with a blue bow tie also.
The bow tie will portray him as
classy young boy who likes to keep
up with the latest trend. He will
also wear comfortable shoes.
