The myth of Isis and Osiris was made thousands of years ago in ancient Egypt. In this myth Osiris'
brother Seth was envious of him, Osiris was the Pharaoh and ruler of Egypt at the time, Seth with a

originated from Egypt and was made what people think to be around 1550–1292 BCE. I admire this

Finding Isis It was a normal day in Egypt, everyone was working along the nile. Fishing,
transporting goods, and most importantly gathering papyrus. It was almost Akeht.
My sister Amera and I made a papyrus boat while my mother made bread and barley soup. After we
finished, we went to play hide and seek. While I was going to hide, I heard someone say that the
Nile wouldn't flood this year and we would all die of dehydration. They also said that isis had

Ankh Symbolism
The Ankh is immediately recognizable to me. When I see it, I know it's called an ankh and I
associate it with Egypt and a symbol of the pagan god and goddesses of ancient Egypt. I confess I
do not know exactly what it symbolizes but I feel I can make an educated guess. I know there are
similarities between Jesus and Mary of Christianity and Isis and Horus of ancient Egypt. The ankh
looks similar to a cross but with the top extension being an upside down raindrop shape instead of a
straight line. Because the cross represents eternal life, I would guess the ankh to mean something
similar. I also see that top loop as looking like half of the infinity symbol. That adds to my suspicion
of it meaning eternal life, or a spiritual life that goes beyond just the physical existence. I'm just
going to add that while I'm assuming these things, I get the feeling that there's an earthy element to

One of the most important things Conquerors could do during ancient times was to find and claim
land. Once the land had been taken, the conquerors would force the natives were forced to learn the

degree description of the work and every detail. I will also relate it to work we have studied in class.
The work I will analyze is found at the Walters Art Museum, in Baltimore, Maryland. The title of

The artwork is simplified, not too many extreme details included compared to some of the work
with complex details of the Vikings in early medieval times. The artist makes the sculpture simple.
The artwork is very rounded, no jagged or edgy parts of the sculpture, almost a smooth transition all

As the wild boar mutilated the handsome Adonis, the witches and the people of Hypta had
disfigured Thelyphron. Other incidents that are similar to stories in myth occur throughout the
novel. Like these two incidents, the others also follow the pattern of showing that things occurring
in everyday Greek life (having sexual relations with a slave and getting attacked by an angry mob)
were nearly synonymous with divine tales.
Following Lucious' transformation to an ass, he takes on a more frontal assault towards the minor
religions present in the Roman Empire at the time. He outright calls the eunuch priests that worship
the Syrian Goddess frauds. The priests stay
"Where the public were very kind to them: in particular they made a good deal of money by
professing to tell fortunes. Between them, these pious frauds composed an all–purpose oracle for the
Goddess to deliver by their mouths, and used it to cheat a great many people who came to consult
her on all sorts of questions." (Graves, pg. 198–199)
By not revealing the specifics of the religion of the eunuchs, Apuleius leaves open the possibility of
applying the fraudulent aspect to other outside religions in the empire. With a short paragraph he
discredits several cults in the empire as being money driven and simply not true. It is also evident,

The push for equality between genders has been a highly disputed topic since the blossoming of the
feminist movement. For years women have felt undervalued and oppressed because of the standards
of "success" put in place by the patriarchal society. However, early evidence suggests that females
were once renowned through the archetype of the great goddess because of a female's ability to
create life through giving birth, justifying that the mother goddess would be the most powerful of
the gods (82). The beginning of the rise of the patriarch can be traced back thousands of years to the
myths and legends of the ancient Egyptians and Mespotamians, where the once revered great
goddesses were replaced with male counterparts, often involving humiliation for the goddess
involved.
In Egyptian mythology, Isis is known as the mother goddess and creator of all living things; the
ancient Egyptians would pray to her for bountiful crops because they relied on her nurturing care for
survival (14). Isis is portrayed as a loyal and caring goddess in her journey to revive her murdered
husband throughout the story of Osiris, Isis, and Horus; she "sail[s] up and down the Nile in a
papyrus boat, and wander[s] through the country" in order to find her husband's scattered remains,
proving her devotion to him (19). While she has assistance on her journey from other gods and
goddesses, she is the leader in finding Osiris–no one else seems to take interest in reviving the god
of Upper and Lower
