Fall 2019
Unit 5: Final Portfolio and Reflection
For your final project, you will be reflecting on the topics discussed in this course and the
ways you grew as a writer. This portfolio and reflection must be turned in in order to
receive a final grade for this course.
You must meet the following requirements:
1. Write a minimum 4-page reflection that discusses all of the following:
a. What was your biggest struggle in this class? How did you overcome it?
b. What would you do differently if you were to retake this course?
c. How did you improve as a writer throughout this course? Provide detail.
d. Reflect on the integrations of Making a Murderer and There There. What role
did both of these play in helping you understand rhetorical concepts? (This
should be two paragraphs.)
e. How will the topics in this course help you in the future? Think specifically of
how you might use rhetoric in your futures.
f. For each essay included, briefly explain your original grade and how you
revised it for this portfolio.
2. Include significantly revised essays (this number is dependent on the grade you
wish to receive; see below):
a. To be eligible to earn an A, students must submit a portfolio that includes
three revisions (must include the Unit 3 essay).
b. To be eligible to earn a B, students must submit a portfolio that includes two
revisions (must include the Unit 3 essay).
c. To be eligible to earn a C or lower, students must submit a portfolio that
includes one revision.
3. Include previous drafts of essays. Download the annotated version from BBLearn
(once printed, this should show all places I highlighted).
4. Include the grade sheet with my comments (If you’ve lost this, I can email you
yours).
5. Compile your portfolio in an MLA formatted document (that means all pages should
have your last name/page number in the upper right-hand corner).
6. Compile your portfolio in the order described on the checklist and include this in
your portfolio.
7. Turn in your portfolio as a hard copy in a pee-chee folder to my office during the
times posted to the announcements on BBLearn.
8. This assignment cannot be turned in late.
