The Hierarchy Of Gender Is An Issue That The Entire World...
The hierarchy of gender is an issue that the entire world has faced for many years. In the United
States, there is a large problem with women being represented in politics. This can be traced back to
how children are placed into different hierarchies of males being masculine and females being
feminine through their clothes, toys, and more. However, the issue is also caused by the media's
portray of female politicians in comparison to male politicians. The media's reporting of the 2016
presidential candidates have impacted the way the candidates speak on each other, and the general
publics opinion on different candidates.
In the United States, people are faced with the hierarchy of gender from childhood. Infant males are
designated with blue, seen as superior and masculine, while infant females are given the color pink
in all aspects to be seen as feminine. This culture transpires into their young childhood in the forms
of toys. Female toys are often domesticated items such as playhouses, kitchen sets, and baby dolls.
On the other hand, male toys are more career oriented, construction sets, science experiment kits,
policemen and firefighting figurines. As the children grow up, they are trained to think within this
gender dichotomy of masculine versus feminine. It is well known that women are not see as
prevalent in the United States government. Only twenty–five percent of legislative positions are held
by women in the country, there has never been a female president, and

Why Is Beowulf Stronger Than Anyone Else In The Entire World
The lead and most important character Beowulf was told to be the hero that has no weakness or fear
of anything, as told in the tale. In the poem, it states that, "Beowulf is greater and stronger than
anyone else in the entire world." In the movie, it is a very similar description too. He proves his
strength after his defeat of the monster Grendel. He showed that he has no fear when he undressed
himself to fight the beast, and he shows that he is so powerful when he tears off the beast's arm to
end the battle. Although there is a similar sense and feel for who Beowulf is in both the movie, and
the poem, there is a major detail in the movie that is not told in the poem. In the movie, Beowulf has
a very great lust for women. Not only is this

Gender Inequality Affects The Entire World
Gender inequality affects the entire world. It exists everywhere you look and in everything you do,
the workplace being the most prominent. Peggy Young, a former UPS worker, experienced gender
inequality. Due to her pregnancy, she was no longer able to lift the seventy pounds UPS required of
the drivers, so she requested a change in workload. The company declined and put her on an unpaid
leave ultimately leading to a lawsuit. In March of 2015, the Supreme Court ruled in Young's favor
because of the past accommodations UPS made for workers who could not work up to their
standards because of physical restriction (Zhou).Gender bias prevails mainly in jobs and schools.
The average person does not realize how bad the workplace can be for inequality against women, so
it is very shocking to them when they find out that women only make $.79 to a man's dollar
(Covert). In order to prevent this unfair persecution of women, several changes need to occur in
order to achieve gender equality and close the wage gap. However, the Supreme Court needs to take
a big step and pass legislation ensuring women equal and fair treatment for women in all areas of
society, especially in the workplace. If men and women make equal pay, it will affect the lives of
everyone, therefore both genders need to strive to achieve this goal.
In most cases, gender bias and stereotypes in the workplace is traceable to the stereotypes ingrained
in people 's minds while in school. Society expects young children to

Hunger Games And Divergent Analysis
With the immense success of the novel and film titles of the Hunger Games and Divergent, many
adolescent women turn to the media as a source of strength to empower themselves in the changing
modern world. In order for the female protagonists of the Hunger Games and Divergent, the film, to
succeed as hero figures, they must let go of many traditionally feminine qualities, like geniality,
selflessness, and empathy. The social formalities the protagonists break in their respective societies,
allow them to become symbols of hope and inspiration as they lead a movement of change in their
worlds. However, for the female protagonists of the Hunger Games and Divergent titles to succeed

While in their care, the motherly instincts of the main female characters flourish as they begin to
make sure their needs are taken care of and comfortable in the situation occuring. The relationship

the children characters first realize the importance of the protagonists and the mission going on.
From the get go, these younger characters find a role model in the protagonist as they believe they
can gain and grow into a strong and influential individual standing up for the betterment of the
world. The protagonists reassure their actions because they begin to see that one person believes in

How The Collapse Of Our Agriculture Effects The Entire World
Eating Fossil Fuels made me realize how lazy our country is in general. Many things we consume
today are eating away our insides without even knowing. This book provided efficient evidence to
our failing food market, oil industry, population overcrowding, etc. Additionally, I realized how the
collapse of our agriculture effects the entire world, and how no one seems to care about it. I will
explain how certain circumstances relate to my life and add opinions to certain sections of the book
that caught my eye.
"As our global population reaches 50% urban, there is an urgent need to return food, fiber and
materials production to the cities. The U.S urban population is currently highly food insecure due to
a lack of local food production and networks" Personally, this is a huge issue that needs to be
addressed. As the population is rising, the country needs to have facilities efficiently producing
enough food to feed the areas. This quote given in the introduction opened my eyes to harsh reality.
It states "We are dependent on the energy of oil and natural gas to seed our crops, maintain them,
harvest them, process them, and transport them to market." What happens when Oil is gone? What
are our alternative options? Food process and distribution relies strictly from oil. We've known for
years that oil is running low and we still have yet to figure out an efficient substitute. Adding into
this topic "Hunger is not caused from lack of food, but from a lack of access to food." That

Walt Disney 's Influence On The Entire World
Walter Elias "Walt" Disney, sound familiar? Even though he was a very famous innovator and
pioneer, Walt is known for many different things. He and his brother Roy co–founded Walt Disney
Productions, which is one of the best known motion–picture production companies in the entire
world. Walt Disney was also the founder of theme parks Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901, In Chicago, Illinois. His father was Elias Disney and
his mother was Flora Call Disney. Disney had 4 other siblings other than himself. Disney attended
McKinley high school. He took drawing and photography classes and was the cartoonist for the
school newspaper. At the end of the day, he took classes at the Chicago Institute.
When he was 16 years old he dropped out of school. He tried to join the army but was denied for
being underage. He joined the Red Cross instead. Disney went to Kansas City and continued to seek
a career as a newspaper artist. He first worked at the Pesmen–Rubin Art Studio, then at the Kansas
City Film and lastly from all of his experience, he decided to open his own animation business.
Walt and his first employee, Fred Harman, made a deal with a local theater to screen their cartoons,
which they called Laugh–O–Grams. The cartoons were so popular; Disney was able to obtain a
studio of his own. By 1953 the studio became burdened with debt, and Disney was forced to declare
bankruptcy.
After this, Disney and his brother moved to

Alexander The Great Has Truly Shaped And Inspired The...
Alexander the Great has truly shaped and inspired the entire world as one of the greatest and most
successful military leaders in history. Alexander has influenced many writers, as he is included in
the national literatures of some eighty countries. At the age of just thirty, Alexander had conquered
what was known as oecumene (the inhabited world). Alexander the Great has become worldly
recognized and lives on to this day as a modern hero who took on, conquered the world and spread
Hellenic culture. Alexander III of Macedon was born in the royal palace in Pella, the capital of
Macedon, in July 356 B.C. The people of Ancient Macedonia were considered to be "barbarians" or
backward foreigners from a Greeks perspective even though the Macedonians spoke and followed
Greek culture. Alexander was born three years into the great military commander of King Philip II's
of Macedon's reign and Olympias, a princess who belonged to a strange religious cult, from the
neighbouring country of Epirus. The two were very passionate and dynamic characters, and their
traits and actions shaped their son's destiny along with his tutors Aristotle, Lysimachus and Leonidas
of Epirus. Demosthenes in 341 BC stated, "Philip is no Greek... He is a filthy wretch from
Macedonia," . The Macedonians were clearly hated by the Greeks and the country was considered to
be a peasant, farming state. Defeating these stereotypes about Macedonians, Alexander lived the
privileged life of a young prince in the royal

The Negative Effects Of Social Media
Social media has become a part of our life, and no one can imagine living without it. Social media
has grown a lot over the several years. Young individuals have always thought that social media is a
marvelous piece of technology, but they never think about the negative effects of 'like' culture,
which contributes to conformity and other negative consequences. The article, The Insidious Evils
of 'Like' Culture, written by Neil Strauss, tells us about to what people can go to get more "likes." In
social media, the "like" button is contributing several negative effects. In the article, The Insidious
Evils of 'Like' Culture, written by Neil Strauss, the writer describes how the 'like' button has
contributed in people's lives. People are not themselves on the social media, when writing they
usually see how many 'likes' a post gets, and then they talk more about the topic of the post rather
than what they actually want to talk about. People follow the trend on the internet and they will do
anything to follow the trends. In the article, the author talks about how rock stars get stressed over
the fact that another artist has a lot more Facebook "likes" and Twitter followers than they do. How
the artists react in the same way people react when they want to get "likes", people risk their lives
and do dares to get more followers and get more "likes". At the start of the article the writer says "If
you happen to be reading this article online, you will notice that right above it, there is a button
labeled "like." Please stop reading and click on "like" right now." The author is asking us to click the
"like" button. The author wants us to show us how people don't care about how the article is or any
post, they only care about how many "likes" the posts get, so they write more about the same topic
or the post again to get more "like" than before. Social media is stopping the process of creativity
and research of people; we need to stop that by getting rid of the "like" button. In my opinion, I
agree that social media, specifically 'like' culture, contributes to conformity and negative
consequences. Social media has impacted my life personally, when musical.ly has impacted my
sister's life which impacts mine too

I Am A Child Of Parents Who Went Into The Entire World
It used to be common to hear of a couple celebrating fifteen, twenty, even thirty years together. Now
it is more likely to hear about a couple going their separate ways than to hear they made it to ten
years in the relationship. This concept is something that I have thought about even before this class.
I myself am a child of parents who went through a divorce, as well as having a failed relationship of
less than ten years. It is difficult to find someone whom you feel you can both be yourself as well as
be a part to a whole with. It takes a lot of effort, drive, and desire to put in the physical, mental, and
emotional work that goes along with the commitment to spend our lives together. With all the new

personal thoughts about their relationship. Angie was very supportive of Randy Sr. when he was

Industrial Revolution: Beneficial To The Entire World
The Industrial Revolution was a period from 1790 to 1870 that originated in England. The Industrial
Revolution was a time of great advancements such as going from handmade to machine & factory
made products. During this period of time, drastic changes in manufacturing, agriculture, trade,
technology, knowledge and transportation have taken place. Therefore, the Industrial Revolution
was beneficial to the entire world.
The Industrial Revolution influenced a great increase in the mass production of goods. Before the
Industrial Revolution, most goods were handmade in small workshops. This system took many

Being able to trade is when you give a product to someone and they give you something in return.
People trade for a reason and the reason being that either they don't know how to produce a similar
product or that it would be easier to receive the product in a trade. " ...tailor does not attempt to
make his own shoes, but buys them from the shoemaker. The shoemaker does not attempt to make
his own clothes, but employs a tailor...." (Invisible Hand). People are born with a special talent or
maybe more than one special talent but not everyone is good at everything, therefore they depend on
someone else to produce something that they need or want. Everyone is taking advantage of the fact
that someone else other than them can make a similar product better so they don't even bother
trying. Relying on one another can be useful tactic like Adam Smith says, " If a foreign country can
supply us with a product cheaper than we ourselves can make it, better buy it from them with some
part of the produce of our own industry" ( Invisible Hand). Adam believes that it is more logical to
buy a product from a different country if they can make it using less money. There is no point in
making a product but knowing that someone else can make it cheaper in return for a product that the
foreign country desires. One thing lead to another and soon enough countries were trading with
everyone. Trade started out within individual industries and became an international

Kleeman's Short Story 'You, Disappearing'
The short story You, Disappearing takes you into a apocalyptic world. The twist is that it's not the
type of apocalypse you think. The world does not bursting into flames or even a swarm of zombies
running around. The apocalypse seems quiet and everything just slowly disappearing one item,
thought, memory, or person at time. The protagonist through out the story deals with the disappear
of not only everything around them but the lose of a relationship too. The protagonist keeps
contemplating why the world continues towards an end of everything and if there seems to show a
pattern to it. The protagonist keeps going back to the old relationship before the memory leaves.

The story's set in a now a days city, we can tell this by the use of cell phones and walking next to
bridges "The walking path next to the highway passed under a bridge." (Kleeman) "I was calling
you over and over on the cell phone..."(Kleeman) The social environment at the time of end of the
world wasn't chaotic like what we see in movies. It started with people freaking out then after a few
weeks settling down and accepting the fact that there was nothing we can do to stop it, you just have
to make the time you have left worth it. This setting adds to the story by giving the reader an image
that would be different then what they might have thought the end of the world would look like. The
setting also adds to the conflict of the story. With the conflict being everything seems to be
disappearing, literally the setting disappears as we read through out the story. The setting adds
suspense to the story, keeping the reader on the edge of there seat wondering what was going to
disappear next. The writer shows uses a great form of imagery to get the reader to understand the
true emptiness of the setting this story is placed in "Sound carried further these days, tearing through
the thin air like stone thrown as hard as you can toward the sea.". The author puts the setting
together perfectly to allow the reader to put themselves into the environment of the story. Which is
so important because "the setting provides the framework for what is being discussed."

World Financial Crisis Requires Regulation of Entire...
1. Introduction
Economists throughout the world have agreed that there is a need of regulation of the financial
system in its entirety. This is because, as the financial crisis from 2008 has shown, the micro
orientated regulation measures do not suffice. They neglect the build–up of systemic risk and the
interconnections within the financial system, which have shown to lead to the amplification of the
effects of shocks. Therefore, as a complement to the microprudential framework, a new type of
regulation tools is being developed– macroprudential. It aims to prevent the accumulation of
systemic risk and improve the stability of the financial system.
In this paper I will focus on explaining in more detail what exactly macroprudential ... Show more

However, the term "macroprudential" was first used a year later at a meeting of the Cooke
Committee, where the main topic was the potential collection ofdata on maturity transformation in
international bank lending. (Clement. 2010. p. 2)
The second occasion on which the term was used was in an unpublished document put together
bythe Bank of England on October 9th 1979. It was used to point out some of the shortcomings of
microprudential policy and to contrast it to a set of macroprudential regulations. (Clement. 2010. pp.
2–3)
The term was afterwards largely forgotten, until it appeared for the first time in a public document in
1986. It was used by the ECSC in its report on innovations in the banking sector as a policy that
supports the stability of the financial system as a whole and the payments mechanism. (BIS. 1986. p.
2 according to Clement. 2010. p. 4)
This was followed by another 6 year period of obscurity up until the 1992 ECSC report discussing
the developments in the relations between international banks (Promisel Report. BIS. 1992.
according to Clement. 2010. p. 4).
A period of relatively frequent use followed and by the late 1990s records show that it was also used
outside the central banks circles. A prominent example is the IMF report "Toward a framework for a
sound financial system", according to which macroprudential supervision should focus

Dna Is An Incredible Discovery That Changed The Entire World
What is DNA? We all know that DNA can be found in our blood and tissue, but we don't really
know about the history of it and what good it can do for crime investigations. DNA was discovered
in 1953 by two young scientists named James Watson and Francis Crick's. DNA is what basically
makes us up and it can be found all around us. DNA has helped out the government throughout the
years in many ways, such as helping them figure out who is responsible for such heinous acts of
violence. All from when DNA was discovered, to DNA being the key component when it comes to
solving crime investigations all over the world, DNA is an incredible discovery that changed the
entire world and is still amazing today.

scientists made this great discovery it didn't just come out the blue. In 1943, another scientist named
Oswald Avery, proved what had been known as DNA. He stated that "DNA, a nucleic acid, carries
genetic information, but no one knew how it worked" (pbs.org). Two other people that were of great
help and contributed to the discovery of DNA were, Rosalind Franklin and Maurice Wilkins. They
were both studying DNA and they used X–ray diffraction as their main tool. They used this method

Does Democracy Work for the Entire World? Essay
Does Democracy Work for the Entire World?
Immanuel Kant–the father of Liberal Internationalism–envisioned a world not torn by hostilities and
fraught with the horrors of war. Instead he aspired to a higher level of existence– an existence to be
obtained through democracy and free market capitalism, to be regulated by a hierarchy, to maintain
sovereignty. Kant's vision of a league of peace–a treaty to end all wars forever, so to speak–has yet
to be accomplished. These hopes for a perpetual peace taunt and mock those in the international
field and will continue to do so forever, in light of the improbability that such a level will be
attained. Though democratization and globalization have yielded many positive outcomes, it is ...

In less developed countries, democracy and capitalism help expand peace and justice in many ways.
These systems promote equal opportunity and choice, which often result in growth in many of the
interconnected sectors. However, simple growth in these nations is not enough, as growth does not
require two of the most important attributes for expanding peace and justice; that is, the elements of
sustainability and equality are not accounted for.
Justice is defined by different people in various ways, but it is very commonly associated with
fairness. Instating a free market economic structure in a nation may promote growth, but this growth
does not usually occur across the board. In fact, it often results in an increase in income inequality.
That the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer is a fact illustrated by the
shrinking middle class around the world. A system in which wealth is concentrated in the hands of
few is inherently unjust, and as long as such massive injustices occur, how can peace take hold?
Even with the pretense of the United States as a paradigm of justice, one can see that the top 20% of
income holders controls 45.8% of income in comparison to the 5.4% of income controlled by the
lowest 20%. Though these numbers represent much more inequality than many would expect of the

Climate Change Is A Major World Issue That Affects Our...
Ever heard of climate change? Known to some as only a "hoax," however it is just the opposite and
in the near future, will become our biggest threat. We are all caught in a "climate crisis," one that
affects our entire way of life and needs taken action by all world powers. DiCaprio effectively
convinces his audience that climate change is a major world issue that needs attention and action by
all world powers; he does this through his use of statistics, appeals to ethos and pathos and his
overall serious tone. In order to persuade the United Nations' members, DiCaprio occasionally states
a fact, statistic or desperate need to grab their attention. In his first paragraph, DiCaprio introduces
himself and thanks the other members for having him and then quickly switches to his reasons for
his statement. He states how he was one of 400,000 people to march in New York City on Sunday,
September 20th in 2015, the highest recorded number of people to march for the purpose of climate
change. DiCaprio uses this statistic to strike a sense of concern and anguish into the listening
members, this works because of the sheer number of people who participated and "the billions of
others around the world who want to solve our climate crisis" (DiCaprio, 1). Another point, in
paragraph 11, he talks about renewable energy and how it can improve not just our "problem" but
also the economy. He says, "...by 2050, clean, renewable energy could supply 100% of the world's
energy needs"

Guns, Germs, And Steel
Guns, Germs, and Steel
Book Review
Why do the origins of every major civilization lead to European conquest and settlement? How did
Europe somehow gain the upper hand so early in history? Gun, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of
Human Societies delivers a clear theory as to why the Europeans were able to conquer almost the
entire world in less then one millennium. Jared Diamond, an esteemed historian takes readers on a
journey through time. He explains that through many different factors and resources, Europe was
able to conquer nearly every civilization due to three major factors, guns, germs, and steel. Diamond
constructs the majority of his arguments based upon the political, economical, and natural
differences and variances between each continent. In the prologue, his friend Yali asks the question,
"How did Europe end up with all the 'cargo'?" This question was never fully answered but Diamond
goes on to explain how Europe used this so–called "cargo" to exploit every weakness of smaller and
less developed civilizations. So the question remains, how did Europe get so lucky when it came to
their natural resources and supplies? Many people think that the "cargo" found in Eurasia was
unquestionably responsible for allowing the European colonies to conquer almost every other
society. In spite of the fact that Diamond constructs most of his argument based upon this point,
others believe that the cargo had nothing to do with Europe's success.

Children in the Brave New World don't have mothers or fathers so they are taught to become adults

to do "erotic play", which would be related to simple playing on the playground in today's world,
and are taught it is what's right and the wrong thing is to not participate (Huxley 30). By the age of

Death In The Entire World
In The Death of the last Black Man in the Entire World, Suzan–Lori Parks gives thought–provoking
insight into how different cultures reconcile with death and dying. While it is evident that every
culture deals with the unperceived elements of death, I am certain that the process they go through
do not mirror each other. In the play, I noticed that Parks does not just focus on death and dying, but
the actual manner in which the African American community processes the reality of death itself.
The way in which Parks examines every aspect of death leads me to believe that she was not
referencing the physicality of death; her analysis is not limited to just one individual, it transcends
way beyond a single person. She also focuses on the methods that the African American culture
employs to subsist with the reality of death, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

verbalizing their concerns in reference to death on a united platform was her way of showing that
ultimately African Americans were the only ones who would be responsible for preserving their
cultural memory. Their desire to obtain a better understanding of death and seeking to obtain a more

to achieving this goal. The fact that they are able to acknowledge that there is a greater issue at hand

Promise In Brave New World
Who defines peril and promise? (Add static to conclusion) When a new technology is created there
are two distinct parties who define whether it is full of promise or peril: the creator and those who
are affected by the creation. The definition used by each party varies massively on the technology
that was developed. The creator of a new technology is often the first person to determine whether
or not it will bring peril to society. In almost every case, the technology is constructed with the
intentions of promise, bringing a net benefit to society.

newspaper, everyday. It is not hard to find articles about laws being broken, about lawbreakers going
free and about people being killed. The concept of newspapers full of stories showing humanity's
evil suggests that there is something wrong with today's world, but newspapers have always been

Therefore, the world today has benefited from the Islamic quest for knowledge. Though Muslim's

Process Essay: How Do Human Bones Grow?
How Do Human Bones Grow?
Why are we born with 300 bones but die with 206?
When we are born, we have 300 bones but as we get older and taller, our bones will fuse together
and we receive the bigger bones that we have now in our body. This project will focus on how bones
grow. First, we will study how bones grow from our childhood to adults. Last, we will study how
you can help your bones grow.
Babies are born with more bones than kids and adults! They have about 300 bones but when they
grow, their bone will fuse together and form a bigger bone. If you think that your 300 tiny bones go
away, no they do not. Actually, they fuse together over time and get a bigger bone! Children have
layers of these cells in the shape of plate at the ends of their bones. They close up when kids reach
their full adult height. When you grow, your cartilage grows too, it gets replaced by a bone with the
help from calcium. (Nation Center for Families, 2010) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nowhere, they just continue to form more bones! We usually have 206 bones as teens and adults
size but for babies they're born with 300, as they grow it forms bigger bones. After your 300 bones
grow together, the extras will still fuse together. The human skeleton begins to develop 13 to 16
weeks after conception. The simple question to where your extra bones go is nowhere. (The
Bulletin, N.D.)
If you want a strong, big, and healthy bone, there is a drink called "Bone–Up" but it's expensive
around 20–50 dollars! You don't have to spend much just to get bigger bones. You can eat healthy
foods like fruits and vegetables. Kids height grow faster in between 11–12 years old. It stops
growing at 14–15 years old. If you want your bones to keep growing, you just have to get taller. To
be able to get taller, you have to eat healthy and drink healthy. When you get taller, your bones will
stretch out and grow. (Foot Health Facts,

How the French Presidential Elections will Affect the Entire World
After rejecting the two major political parties in the first round, the French voters will choose their
new president. What will the election result mean for the world?
After the Brexit results in the UK and Trump's election in the US, France is next to face the
challenge of elections on May the 7th for their second round. Debating the subject is William
Callanan, 45, an American citizen living in Britain for the last 15 years and partner at Keysquare

will have a major impact across the world. But first, let's meet the candidates.

Callanan thinks Macron will align with Fillon on the centre right, making Le pen garner less votes,
suggesting the first round's outcome is an indication of what the ending bias will likely be.
Will a new president be the end of old politics in France? Just over a month after the new president
will be elected, she/he will start building their coalition in the Assembly Nationale. "It will be a real
challenge for both," says Callanan as "a new party has never gained a majority." He paused. "But
Macron has a better chance than Le Pen."
One important issue that the new president will need to address is on the national security, as
terrorist attacks are at their peek right now in France. While Le Pen is focused on immigration,
Macron is focused on adding 50,000 police and specialised training. When asked who will appeal
more to the public, Callanan said" people become more accustomed to these events and the shock
effect is mitigated. Think of what it is like living in Beirut..."
Will Le Pen's claim of deporting all foreigners suspected of a connection to radical Islamism make
France safer? "Definitely not," replied Mr. Callanan, "on the contrary, the anti–immigration and
anti–Islam stance can be taken too far and be counter–productive."
Le Pen has said that France should be "less naive" as it became a "jihadi university." Will her
presidency affect the relations with the Middle East? Which key policies should France pursue in the

Hate Cannot Drive Out Darkness
Lately, the world seems to be in shambles. Everyone is suffering while the world becomes divided.
People pitted against each other, knowing hate more than love. A drastic change needs to occur, for
the world to be fixed. As late Martin Luther King Jr said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only
light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." This quote resonates with my
belief about what it means to make the world a better place. The world is full of hatred and evil, why

people must love everyone for who they are, treat people equally and stand up for others.

Explain Why Soccer Is The Best Sport In The World Essay
Soccer is, by far, the best sport in the world. Many might disagree with this statement but I think
that soccer should be considered the best sport. The fans cheer louder than any other sport, there is
more blood, sweat, and tears than any other sport, and soccer requires you to think more than any
other sport. The passion between the fans and the players is indescribable unless you experience it
first hand. There are many reasons to why soccer is the best sport in the world but some of the
reasons why soccer is the best sport in the world are, it is the most popular sport around the world, it
is one of the hardest sports to learn and pick up on, and I have been playing soccer my entire life so

Most people think that soccer is just about kicking a ball and getting it into the goal. Although that
might be the general goal of soccer, this sport requires awareness, aggressiveness, hard work, and a
lot of passion. Soccer requires years of practice and dedication. Starting at a young age practicing
passing, your touches on the ball, and how well you shoot the ball into the back of the net are all key
and will improve how well of a player you become. Completing good passes is key to winning
games. Making a good pass to a player on your team could broaden your opportunities to score or
have an attempt at scoring. Your touch on the ball is key because if you do not have a good first
touch a defender can take the ball very easily. You also need to have a good touch on the ball so you
can dribbled around defenders and make the correct decisions when it comes to making moves.
Shooting is how the ball ends up in the back of the net which is how the team wins games. To shoot
it does not have to be an upper ninety goal, which means the top corner between the post and the
crossbar. One way you will score is having a heavy weighted shot low and into the bottom corner of
the goal. All of these key concepts to the sport of soccer take years of practice, hard work, and
dedication and that is why it is the best

No matter what type of business you investigate, they all have the same bottom line. They are all in
business to make a profit. Sometimes those profit margins can be slim. And sometimes it can be
certain aspects of the business that cause such slim margins. They have higher costs that cause some
companies to second guess whether a department is worth having. Higher costs in some departments
may cause cuts in other departments to help fund the activities. Sometimes businesses don't have an

For as popular as outsourcing is, the benefits of this practice should be outstanding. So, what are
some of these benefits that companies are taking advantage of? Well for each business the benefits
that they receive would vary based on the different aspects of each company. Some companies
would gain from cheaper labor costs that you could get by outsourcing to a different company that
takes place in a different country. These other countries may not have to worry about a minimum
wage requirement or competing wages from other companies. They may also have a high population
that would provide for the possibility of a quicker production process or the ability to produce at a
higher volume in a shorter amount of time. Another benefit that a company could gain from
outsourcing would be that they could save a large amount of set–up or investment money. If a
company wanted to open and employ their own call center or help desk, they would have to come

building, or even just land and then the cost of building a building. They would then have to invest
in all of the furniture and computer systems that it would take to run such a function. Let alone the

Is Loki Of The Most Dominant Characteristics Of An Entire...
One of the most dominant characteristics in any villain is a craving for destruction, whether it is the
annihilation of a specific hero or of an entire world. Occasionally, however, the heel possesses a
quality that contradicts this nefarious tendency. Rarely does a story include an evildoer whose
actions end up benefitting those around him. This "doer of good and... doer of evil" ("Far Away and
Long Ago" 1) is Loki of Norse mythology. While some of Loki's actions qualify as heinous, many of
those who read of his misgivings are too quick to criticize the undervalued deity. This harsh
judgment has spun into a popular culture that paints a misconstrued image of Loki in film. Although
interpreted by modern media as inherently evil, the Norse god Loki is simply a misunderstood
mischief–maker who helps on his own accord, corrects his misdeeds, and ultimately causes the
dawn of modern man.
Before digging into his misdeeds, noting Loki's pure benevolence is essential. Atop a mountain, the
gods built the city Asgard, "a great City... that the Giants could never overthrow" (Colum 6). As they
built their great city, the gods were approached by a giant. Although the giant could not help build
the halls or palaces of Asgard, "[he could] build great walls that [could] never be overthrown" (7),
and so the gods took the giant's offer. Of course, however, this favor would not be performed
without reward. Odin, the Father of the Gods, asks the giant what payment he desires, believing

Feminism Is An Entire World View Or Gestalt, Not Just A...
"Feminism is an entire world view or gestalt, not just a laundry list of women's issues." (Bunch,
1979:9) A critical quest for feminisms is the development of theories and analyses of power. One
only needs to start analyzing the material of historical theorists to identify that there exists the need
for feminist theories of power. Feminist contributions throughout history have been typically
assumed much more utilitarian in their approach. The focus of historical theorists might often be
described as more elusive and often entrenched within the patriarchal systems as opposed to
rebelling against them, often adhering within the paradigm of systematic power instead of directly
challenging the pervasiveness of power itself. Nonetheless, historical efforts have helped establish
the need for contemporary feminisms to interrogate and challenge systematic power. Power has
different manifestations whether systemic or hierarchical which can be viewed through a feminist
critique. Several influential feminist scholars, including Mary Wollstonecraft, Simone DeBeauvoir,
and Audre Lourde to name but a few help gain a deeper comprehension of the issue. It is evident
that the manifestation of power has affected historical education, law, social training, and language.
Education has often been used as a tool to facilitate power. Who has been provided with an
opportunity to pursue an education is interesting to analyze. Historically, women and racial minority
men were not provided with

Summary Of How To Paint A Water Lily
The poem "How to Paint A Water Lily" by Ted Hughes is a beautiful piece of work. Just like a
painter would put very fine details with every stroke of the paintbrush, so does Hughes with each
stanza to build this beautiful poem. Although the poem's title makes the reader think the poem is
about a water lily it is really about the environment around it. Hughes uses personification to
describe the scene the speaker is witnessing in comparison of the water lily.
Ted Hughes used personification throughout the entire poem. Most of the personification in the
poem is based on the world around the flower instead of the actual flower. In the fourth stanza,
Hughes describes the eating habits of the dragonfly by saying,
"First observe the air's dragonfly That eats meat, that bullets by."
This means the dragonfly is eating insects that are flying by and is describing the flying insects as
"bullets". Another example of personification in the poem is in the thirteenth stanza. The thirteenth
stanza says,
"Which, deep in both worlds, can be still,
As a painting, trembling hardly at all."
In this stanza Hughes is describing the still sitting water lily in all of the chaos around it by saying
the flower is not "trembling" in the water as if nothing is happening at all.
Ted Hughes may not mention the flower many times in the poem but he does mention it at the
beginning and the end. At the beginning of the poem, the speaker starts to describe the leaves on the
bottom of the water lily.

Drinking Age : A Huge Problem That Affects The Entire World
Today alcohol, is a huge problem that affects the entire world. In particular, in America it seemed a
good idea to increase the legal drinking age to 21 years old, to lower accidents that may be caused
by alcohol consumers. The issue is to understand if this decision actually helped, or if the USA
should reconsider to lower the drinking age to 18 years old again.
Making something illegal for such a long time, does actually preserve people to not be overtaken by
it once it becomes permitted? Allowing them to get to know alcohol when they are younger, and
learn how to control it, will actually help? These are the questions that arise when the drinking age
in America is brought up.
The drinking age was raised at 21 years old for some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This era ended just in 1933 when Congress passed the 21st Amendment, that gave to each state the
power to regulate alcohol inside their borders.(LegalFlip, n.d.).
During the Vietnam War, that lasted from 1959 to 1975, the legal drinking age issue arose again. The
main point was that if people were able to go to war at 18 years old they should be allowed to drink
too. For this reason, a lot of states stated 18 years old as the permitted drinking age. Around the 80s
though, Organizations like Mothers Against Drunk Driving, started to push for rising the drinking
age. That was related to two different problems: drinking and driving, and studies that showed how
brain is not completely formed until around 20 years old. As a result of this, Reagan signed the
National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984, that stated 21 years old as the legal age for drinking.
(Trex, 2008). Even if States didn't need to necessarily to set it as a drinking age, if they weren't
doing it the government would have had removed 10% of annual federal highway funding from
states that chose an age below 21. For this reason, everyone set 21 as the minimum drinking age.
Studies
Several studies support the decision National Minimum Drinking Age Act. Those studies are also
the ones that in some way managed to keep this Act still active, even if a lot of people are asking for
lowering the drinking age at 18

a large crowd of people gathering around the court. The text on the image reads "Equality has no

Graphics are not only used to sell things or for persuasion in all cases. They are most importantly

there probably isn't one business that doesn't have a graphic that represents them.
Every single graphic made was created specifically for one place or thing. Graphics are a way of

can do also. According to Celebrate Design, "graphic design does many things like; connects,

Steven). There was a reason behind what it says and what it's meaning is. Some designs are more
focused towards men and some more directed towards women. It depends on who is more likely to
see the product. Graphic designers have a way of creating things that effect decision making and the
way the brain thinks. It all links back to psychology; most times even what colors are put into what

Ishmael Character Analysis
The message of Daniel Keyes's Ishmael is that people need to change their way of living in order to
thrive successfully. Currently, our society is extremely ambitious and selfish. Over thousands of
years, we conquered each continent, then the entire earth, the moon, and now we are out to conquer
the entire universe. Our ambitious plans to expand further and further is a vibrant part of our society,
yet it has it's most dire effect is that this ambition is leading us to a broad civilizational collapse. We
need to realize this is the consequence and take action to keep a thriving society together. A strong
theme I found in Ishmael was growth mindset. Multiple times, Keyes challenged the reader to open
their mind and experience what he or Ishmael

The Hierarchy Of Gender Is An Issue That The Entire World...

  • 1. The Hierarchy Of Gender Is An Issue That The Entire World... The hierarchy of gender is an issue that the entire world has faced for many years. In the United States, there is a large problem with women being represented in politics. This can be traced back to how children are placed into different hierarchies of males being masculine and females being feminine through their clothes, toys, and more. However, the issue is also caused by the media's portray of female politicians in comparison to male politicians. The media's reporting of the 2016 presidential candidates have impacted the way the candidates speak on each other, and the general publics opinion on different candidates. In the United States, people are faced with the hierarchy of gender from childhood. Infant males are designated with blue, seen as superior and masculine, while infant females are given the color pink in all aspects to be seen as feminine. This culture transpires into their young childhood in the forms of toys. Female toys are often domesticated items such as playhouses, kitchen sets, and baby dolls. On the other hand, male toys are more career oriented, construction sets, science experiment kits, policemen and firefighting figurines. As the children grow up, they are trained to think within this gender dichotomy of masculine versus feminine. It is well known that women are not see as prevalent in the United States government. Only twenty–five percent of legislative positions are held by women in the country, there has never been a female president, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Why Is Beowulf Stronger Than Anyone Else In The Entire World The lead and most important character Beowulf was told to be the hero that has no weakness or fear of anything, as told in the tale. In the poem, it states that, "Beowulf is greater and stronger than anyone else in the entire world." In the movie, it is a very similar description too. He proves his strength after his defeat of the monster Grendel. He showed that he has no fear when he undressed himself to fight the beast, and he shows that he is so powerful when he tears off the beast's arm to end the battle. Although there is a similar sense and feel for who Beowulf is in both the movie, and the poem, there is a major detail in the movie that is not told in the poem. In the movie, Beowulf has a very great lust for women. Not only is this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Gender Inequality Affects The Entire World Gender inequality affects the entire world. It exists everywhere you look and in everything you do, the workplace being the most prominent. Peggy Young, a former UPS worker, experienced gender inequality. Due to her pregnancy, she was no longer able to lift the seventy pounds UPS required of the drivers, so she requested a change in workload. The company declined and put her on an unpaid leave ultimately leading to a lawsuit. In March of 2015, the Supreme Court ruled in Young's favor because of the past accommodations UPS made for workers who could not work up to their standards because of physical restriction (Zhou).Gender bias prevails mainly in jobs and schools. The average person does not realize how bad the workplace can be for inequality against women, so it is very shocking to them when they find out that women only make $.79 to a man's dollar (Covert). In order to prevent this unfair persecution of women, several changes need to occur in order to achieve gender equality and close the wage gap. However, the Supreme Court needs to take a big step and pass legislation ensuring women equal and fair treatment for women in all areas of society, especially in the workplace. If men and women make equal pay, it will affect the lives of everyone, therefore both genders need to strive to achieve this goal. In most cases, gender bias and stereotypes in the workplace is traceable to the stereotypes ingrained in people 's minds while in school. Society expects young children to ... • 7. Hunger Games And Divergent Analysis With the immense success of the novel and film titles of the Hunger Games and Divergent, many adolescent women turn to the media as a source of strength to empower themselves in the changing modern world. In order for the female protagonists of the Hunger Games and Divergent, the film, to succeed as hero figures, they must let go of many traditionally feminine qualities, like geniality, selflessness, and empathy. The social formalities the protagonists break in their respective societies, allow them to become symbols of hope and inspiration as they lead a movement of change in their worlds. However, for the female protagonists of the Hunger Games and Divergent titles to succeed as hero figures, they must let go of traditionally feminine qualities ... While in their care, the motherly instincts of the main female characters flourish as they begin to make sure their needs are taken care of and comfortable in the situation occuring. The relationship and bond these characters begin to have become another major factor in the progression of the movement they stand for. The relationship they share becomes a source of moral strength because the children characters first realize the importance of the protagonists and the mission going on. From the get go, these younger characters find a role model in the protagonist as they believe they can gain and grow into a strong and influential individual standing up for the betterment of the world. The protagonists reassure their actions because they begin to see that one person believes in the cause they stand for. • 9. How The Collapse Of Our Agriculture Effects The Entire World Eating Fossil Fuels made me realize how lazy our country is in general. Many things we consume today are eating away our insides without even knowing. This book provided efficient evidence to our failing food market, oil industry, population overcrowding, etc. Additionally, I realized how the collapse of our agriculture effects the entire world, and how no one seems to care about it. I will explain how certain circumstances relate to my life and add opinions to certain sections of the book that caught my eye. "As our global population reaches 50% urban, there is an urgent need to return food, fiber and materials production to the cities. The U.S urban population is currently highly food insecure due to a lack of local food production and networks" Personally, this is a huge issue that needs to be addressed. As the population is rising, the country needs to have facilities efficiently producing enough food to feed the areas. This quote given in the introduction opened my eyes to harsh reality. It states "We are dependent on the energy of oil and natural gas to seed our crops, maintain them, harvest them, process them, and transport them to market." What happens when Oil is gone? What are our alternative options? Food process and distribution relies strictly from oil. We've known for years that oil is running low and we still have yet to figure out an efficient substitute. Adding into this topic "Hunger is not caused from lack of food, but from a lack of access to food." That ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Alexander The Great Has Truly Shaped And Inspired The... Alexander the Great has truly shaped and inspired the entire world as one of the greatest and most successful military leaders in history. Alexander has influenced many writers, as he is included in the national literatures of some eighty countries. At the age of just thirty, Alexander had conquered what was known as oecumene (the inhabited world). Alexander the Great has become worldly recognized and lives on to this day as a modern hero who took on, conquered the world and spread Hellenic culture. Alexander III of Macedon was born in the royal palace in Pella, the capital of Macedon, in July 356 B.C. The people of Ancient Macedonia were considered to be "barbarians" or backward foreigners from a Greeks perspective even though the Macedonians spoke and followed Greek culture. Alexander was born three years into the great military commander of King Philip II's of Macedon's reign and Olympias, a princess who belonged to a strange religious cult, from the neighbouring country of Epirus. The two were very passionate and dynamic characters, and their traits and actions shaped their son's destiny along with his tutors Aristotle, Lysimachus and Leonidas of Epirus. Demosthenes in 341 BC stated, "Philip is no Greek... He is a filthy wretch from Macedonia," . The Macedonians were clearly hated by the Greeks and the country was considered to be a peasant, farming state. Defeating these stereotypes about Macedonians, Alexander lived the privileged life of a young prince in the royal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. The Negative Effects Of Social Media Social media has become a part of our life, and no one can imagine living without it. Social media has grown a lot over the several years. Young individuals have always thought that social media is a marvelous piece of technology, but they never think about the negative effects of 'like' culture, which contributes to conformity and other negative consequences. The article, The Insidious Evils of 'Like' Culture, written by Neil Strauss, tells us about to what people can go to get more "likes." In social media, the "like" button is contributing several negative effects. In the article, The Insidious Evils of 'Like' Culture, written by Neil Strauss, the writer describes how the 'like' button has contributed in people's lives. People are not themselves on the social media, when writing they usually see how many 'likes' a post gets, and then they talk more about the topic of the post rather than what they actually want to talk about. People follow the trend on the internet and they will do anything to follow the trends. In the article, the author talks about how rock stars get stressed over the fact that another artist has a lot more Facebook "likes" and Twitter followers than they do. How the artists react in the same way people react when they want to get "likes", people risk their lives and do dares to get more followers and get more "likes". At the start of the article the writer says "If you happen to be reading this article online, you will notice that right above it, there is a button labeled "like." Please stop reading and click on "like" right now." The author is asking us to click the "like" button. The author wants us to show us how people don't care about how the article is or any post, they only care about how many "likes" the posts get, so they write more about the same topic or the post again to get more "like" than before. Social media is stopping the process of creativity and research of people; we need to stop that by getting rid of the "like" button. In my opinion, I agree that social media, specifically 'like' culture, contributes to conformity and negative consequences. Social media has impacted my life personally, when musical.ly has impacted my sister's life which impacts mine too ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now it is more likely to hear about a couple going their separate ways than to hear they made it to ten years in the relationship. This concept is something that I have thought about even before this class. I myself am a child of parents who went through a divorce, as well as having a failed relationship of less than ten years. It is difficult to find someone whom you feel you can both be yourself as well as be a part to a whole with. From the retelling of how they met, to talking about their children, and even discussing negatives in the relationship and explaining how they always found a way through it together. Randy Sr. seemed to be more distant at first. He became much more expressive as the interview went on, often chuckling at little memories or smiling at her while she would recall one detail or another. As a whole the interview was very open and they were genuinely happy to share with me some of their more personal thoughts about their relationship. Angie was very supportive of Randy Sr. when he was talking about his struggle with drugs early in their relationship. Several times she reached over to him, rubbing his back and adding to the conversation saying that he was strong and brave to go through what he did. She expressed how she would have never let him go through something like that alone and how she is just as much there for him now as she was then. The world does not bursting into flames or even a swarm of zombies running around. The apocalypse seems quiet and everything just slowly disappearing one item, thought, memory, or person at time. The protagonist through out the story deals with the disappear of not only everything around them but the lose of a relationship too. The protagonist keeps contemplating why the world continues towards an end of everything and if there seems to show a pattern to it. The protagonist keeps going back to the old relationship before the memory leaves. You, Disappearing is written in first person point of view that makes you ... The story's set in a now a days city, we can tell this by the use of cell phones and walking next to bridges "The walking path next to the highway passed under a bridge." (Kleeman) "I was calling you over and over on the cell phone..."(Kleeman) The social environment at the time of end of the world wasn't chaotic like what we see in movies. It started with people freaking out then after a few weeks settling down and accepting the fact that there was nothing we can do to stop it, you just have to make the time you have left worth it. This setting adds to the story by giving the reader an image that would be different then what they might have thought the end of the world would look like. The setting also adds to the conflict of the story. With the conflict being everything seems to be disappearing, literally the setting disappears as we read through out the story. The setting adds suspense to the story, keeping the reader on the edge of there seat wondering what was going to disappear next. The writer shows uses a great form of imagery to get the reader to understand the true emptiness of the setting this story is placed in "Sound carried further these days, tearing through the thin air like stone thrown as hard as you can toward the sea.". The author puts the setting together perfectly to allow the reader to put themselves into the environment of the story. • 25. World Financial Crisis Requires Regulation of Entire... 1. Introduction Economists throughout the world have agreed that there is a need of regulation of the financial system in its entirety. This is because, as the financial crisis from 2008 has shown, the micro orientated regulation measures do not suffice. They neglect the build–up of systemic risk and the interconnections within the financial system, which have shown to lead to the amplification of the effects of shocks. Therefore, as a complement to the microprudential framework, a new type of regulation tools is being developed– macroprudential. It aims to prevent the accumulation of systemic risk and improve the stability of the financial system. In this paper I will focus on explaining in more detail what exactly macroprudential ... (Clement. 2010. p. 2) The second occasion on which the term was used was in an unpublished document put together bythe Bank of England on October 9th 1979. It was used to point out some of the shortcomings of microprudential policy and to contrast it to a set of macroprudential regulations. (Clement. 2010. pp. 2–3) The term was afterwards largely forgotten, until it appeared for the first time in a public document in 1986. It was used by the ECSC in its report on innovations in the banking sector as a policy that supports the stability of the financial system as a whole and the payments mechanism. (BIS. 1986. p. 2 according to Clement. 2010. p. 4) This was followed by another 6 year period of obscurity up until the 1992 ECSC report discussing the developments in the relations between international banks (Promisel Report. Immanuel Kant–the father of Liberal Internationalism–envisioned a world not torn by hostilities and fraught with the horrors of war. Instead he aspired to a higher level of existence– an existence to be obtained through democracy and free market capitalism, to be regulated by a hierarchy, to maintain sovereignty. Kant's vision of a league of peace–a treaty to end all wars forever, so to speak–has yet to be accomplished. In less developed countries, democracy and capitalism help expand peace and justice in many ways. These systems promote equal opportunity and choice, which often result in growth in many of the interconnected sectors. However, simple growth in these nations is not enough, as growth does not require two of the most important attributes for expanding peace and justice; that is, the elements of sustainability and equality are not accounted for. Justice is defined by different people in various ways, but it is very commonly associated with fairness. Instating a free market economic structure in a nation may promote growth, but this growth does not usually occur across the board. In fact, it often results in an increase in income inequality. That the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer is a fact illustrated by the shrinking middle class around the world. A system in which wealth is concentrated in the hands of few is inherently unjust, and as long as such massive injustices occur, how can peace take hold? Even with the pretense of the United States as a paradigm of justice, one can see that the top 20% of income holders controls 45.8% of income in comparison to the 5.4% of income controlled by the lowest 20%. Known to some as only a "hoax," however it is just the opposite and in the near future, will become our biggest threat. We are all caught in a "climate crisis," one that affects our entire way of life and needs taken action by all world powers. DiCaprio effectively convinces his audience that climate change is a major world issue that needs attention and action by all world powers; he does this through his use of statistics, appeals to ethos and pathos and his overall serious tone. In order to persuade the United Nations' members, DiCaprio occasionally states a fact, statistic or desperate need to grab their attention. In his first paragraph, DiCaprio introduces himself and thanks the other members for having him and then quickly switches to his reasons for his statement. He states how he was one of 400,000 people to march in New York City on Sunday, September 20th in 2015, the highest recorded number of people to march for the purpose of climate change. DiCaprio uses this statistic to strike a sense of concern and anguish into the listening members, this works because of the sheer number of people who participated and "the billions of others around the world who want to solve our climate crisis" (DiCaprio, 1). Another point, in paragraph 11, he talks about renewable energy and how it can improve not just our "problem" but also the economy. How did Europe somehow gain the upper hand so early in history? Gun, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies delivers a clear theory as to why the Europeans were able to conquer almost the entire world in less then one millennium. Jared Diamond, an esteemed historian takes readers on a journey through time. He explains that through many different factors and resources, Europe was able to conquer nearly every civilization due to three major factors, guns, germs, and steel. Diamond constructs the majority of his arguments based upon the political, economical, and natural differences and variances between each continent. In the prologue, his friend Yali asks the question, "How did Europe end up with all the 'cargo'?" This question was never fully answered but Diamond goes on to explain how Europe used this so–called "cargo" to exploit every weakness of smaller and less developed civilizations. So the question remains, how did Europe get so lucky when it came to their natural resources and supplies? Many people think that the "cargo" found in Eurasia was unquestionably responsible for allowing the European colonies to conquer almost every other society. In spite of the fact that Diamond constructs most of his argument based upon this point, others believe that the cargo had nothing to do with Europe's success. Did Europe have ... While it is evident that every culture deals with the unperceived elements of death, I am certain that the process they go through do not mirror each other. In the play, I noticed that Parks does not just focus on death and dying, but the actual manner in which the African American community processes the reality of death itself. The way in which Parks examines every aspect of death leads me to believe that she was not referencing the physicality of death; her analysis is not limited to just one individual, it transcends way beyond a single person. Percy and Annabeth both stared at Chiron with wide, questioning eyes and Piper and Chiron stared at Percy, Piper with a confused look on her face, and Chiron with a knowing look. Annabeth 's mind was whirling. How could Chiron possibly know about Percy 's father? As far as she knew, Percy had just found out himself and she was the only one he told. "How . . . how do you know about that?" Annabeth asked in a small voice, since she figured Percy wasn 't capable of doing so then. His hand had gone cold in Annabeth 's, probably from shock. "I happen to know the king of Atlantis personally," Chiron explained. "We 're old friends, actually. I knew all about his affair with Sally Jackson, so when I found out ... Annabeth glanced over at him, and noticed the way his eyebrows furrowed together in the way they did when he was frustrated, and the thin line of his mouth. She squeezed his hand, and when he looked at her, she gave him a smile. I 'm here for you. I 'm not going to leave you. I love you. He gave her a small smile back. "So what are we going to do?" Piper asked. Annabeth was startled to remember that she was still in there. She had been so quiet during their exchange that Annabeth had forgotten she was there. "About Luke, I mean." Chiron ran a hand over his head. "I guess we 'll just have to do the noble thing, and tell Annabeth 's parents everything." "They won 't believe me," Annabeth said quietly. "They 'll just think I 'm trying to make something up to get out of marrying him." "But if all of us back you up," Piper said hopefully, "then maybe they 'll believe you." Annabeth smiled even though she didn 't believe her. Sometimes those profit margins can be slim. And sometimes it can be certain aspects of the business that cause such slim margins. They have higher costs that cause some companies to second guess whether a department is worth having. Higher costs in some departments may cause cuts in other departments to help fund the activities. Sometimes businesses don't have an option when it comes to having a certain department, most businesses only have departments that are crucial to the business and just cutting those departments out would ruin the business entirely. So, what are some of these benefits that companies are taking advantage of? Well for each business the benefits that they receive would vary based on the different aspects of each company. Some companies would gain from cheaper labor costs that you could get by outsourcing to a different company that takes place in a different country. These other countries may not have to worry about a minimum wage requirement or competing wages from other companies. They may also have a high population that would provide for the possibility of a quicker production process or the ability to produce at a higher volume in a shorter amount of time. Another benefit that a company could gain from outsourcing would be that they could save a large amount of set–up or investment money. If a company wanted to open and employ their own call center or help desk, they would have to come up with and spend a ton of money and resources. First, they would have to invest into buying a building, or even just land and then the cost of building a building. • 63. Is Loki Of The Most Dominant Characteristics Of An Entire... One of the most dominant characteristics in any villain is a craving for destruction, whether it is the annihilation of a specific hero or of an entire world. Occasionally, however, the heel possesses a quality that contradicts this nefarious tendency. Rarely does a story include an evildoer whose actions end up benefitting those around him. This "doer of good and... doer of evil" ("Far Away and Long Ago" 1) is Loki of Norse mythology. While some of Loki's actions qualify as heinous, many of those who read of his misgivings are too quick to criticize the undervalued deity. This harsh judgment has spun into a popular culture that paints a misconstrued image of Loki in film. Although interpreted by modern media as inherently evil, the Norse god Loki is simply a misunderstood mischief–maker who helps on his own accord, corrects his misdeeds, and ultimately causes the dawn of modern man. Before digging into his misdeeds, noting Loki's pure benevolence is essential. Atop a mountain, the gods built the city Asgard, "a great City... that the Giants could never overthrow" (Colum 6). As they built their great city, the gods were approached by a giant. Although the giant could not help build the halls or palaces of Asgard, "[he could] build great walls that [could] never be overthrown" (7), and so the gods took the giant's offer. • 65. Feminism Is An Entire World View Or Gestalt, Not Just A... "Feminism is an entire world view or gestalt, not just a laundry list of women's issues." (Bunch, 1979:9) A critical quest for feminisms is the development of theories and analyses of power. One only needs to start analyzing the material of historical theorists to identify that there exists the need for feminist theories of power. Feminist contributions throughout history have been typically assumed much more utilitarian in their approach. The focus of historical theorists might often be described as more elusive and often entrenched within the patriarchal systems as opposed to rebelling against them, often adhering within the paradigm of systematic power instead of directly challenging the pervasiveness of power itself. Nonetheless, historical efforts have helped establish the need for contemporary feminisms to interrogate and challenge systematic power. Power has different manifestations whether systemic or hierarchical which can be viewed through a feminist critique. Several influential feminist scholars, including Mary Wollstonecraft, Simone DeBeauvoir, and Audre Lourde to name but a few help gain a deeper comprehension of the issue. It is evident that the manifestation of power has affected historical education, law, social training, and language. Education has often been used as a tool to facilitate power. Who has been provided with an opportunity to pursue an education is interesting to analyze. Historically, women and racial minority men were not provided with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 67. Summary Of How To Paint A Water Lily The poem "How to Paint A Water Lily" by Ted Hughes is a beautiful piece of work. Just like a painter would put very fine details with every stroke of the paintbrush, so does Hughes with each stanza to build this beautiful poem. Although the poem's title makes the reader think the poem is about a water lily it is really about the environment around it. Hughes uses personification to describe the scene the speaker is witnessing in comparison of the water lily. Ted Hughes used personification throughout the entire poem. Most of the personification in the poem is based on the world around the flower instead of the actual flower. In the fourth stanza, Hughes describes the eating habits of the dragonfly by saying, "First observe the air's dragonfly That eats meat, that bullets by." This means the dragonfly is eating insects that are flying by and is describing the flying insects as "bullets". Another example of personification in the poem is in the thirteenth stanza. The thirteenth stanza says, "Which, deep in both worlds, can be still, As a painting, trembling hardly at all." In this stanza Hughes is describing the still sitting water lily in all of the chaos around it by saying the flower is not "trembling" in the water as if nothing is happening at all. Ted Hughes may not mention the flower many times in the poem but he does mention it at the beginning and the end. At the beginning of the poem, the speaker starts to describe the leaves on the bottom of the water lily. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 69. Drinking Age : A Huge Problem That Affects The Entire World Today alcohol, is a huge problem that affects the entire world. In particular, in America it seemed a good idea to increase the legal drinking age to 21 years old, to lower accidents that may be caused by alcohol consumers. The issue is to understand if this decision actually helped, or if the USA should reconsider to lower the drinking age to 18 years old again. Making something illegal for such a long time, does actually preserve people to not be overtaken by it once it becomes permitted? Allowing them to get to know alcohol when they are younger, and learn how to control it, will actually help? These are the questions that arise when the drinking age in America is brought up. The drinking age was raised at 21 years old for some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This era ended just in 1933 when Congress passed the 21st Amendment, that gave to each state the power to regulate alcohol inside their borders.(LegalFlip, n.d.). During the Vietnam War, that lasted from 1959 to 1975, the legal drinking age issue arose again. The main point was that if people were able to go to war at 18 years old they should be allowed to drink too. For this reason, a lot of states stated 18 years old as the permitted drinking age. Around the 80s though, Organizations like Mothers Against Drunk Driving, started to push for rising the drinking age. That was related to two different problems: drinking and driving, and studies that showed how brain is not completely formed until around 20 years old. As a result of this, Reagan signed the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984, that stated 21 years old as the legal age for drinking. (Trex, 2008). Even if States didn't need to necessarily to set it as a drinking age, if they weren't doing it the government would have had removed 10% of annual federal highway funding from states that chose an age below 21. For this reason, everyone set 21 as the minimum drinking age. Studies Several studies support the decision National Minimum Drinking Age Act. Those studies are also the ones that in some way managed to keep this Act still active, even if a lot of people are asking for lowering the drinking age at 18 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Our ambitious plans to expand further and further is a vibrant part of our society, yet it has it's most dire effect is that this ambition is leading us to a broad civilizational collapse.
