2. At the very start of the course we have maintained the same style
of design within all of our products being, the main music video,
the website and the digipack. We have always kept in mind that a
certain theme has to be kept when looking all the tasks, making it
look as professional as it can.
This in mind we have created a theme of the “X” in existence, to
be common throughout. We have done and shown this in all the
tasks we have completed. We wanted the DJ to be the star, known
better in Richard Dyers star theory, and show him as the main man
making sure he is detailed as the DJ. I will explain more about how
each of the products have linked together throughout our work.
4. The logo is very important in all of the products that we have created. We took apart the “X” from
Existence and used that dramatically as the symbol of the DJ. We have made sure that this is
something that links everything together making sure that this theme promotes Existence as an
artist. I feel this is well done as his fans will immediately recognise the logo as Existence, and you
know exact what to expect when that logo is seen. We used this off the work of Avicii as he uses
the same type of system, making sure that his logo is everywhere. This “X” will be used very simply
as the brand for Existence.
Another theme used is the dark run down places where it is set. We have chosen not place our artist
in well populated areas because that’s not the type of artist he is. We felt it necessary in all of the
products that this is developed further. In all pictures we have placed him in very rural areas of
Liverpool, secluded from anyone else.
Also his clothing is something that we hand picked out to be something, not smart, just very casual,
as that is something seen very much in DJ’s. His out doors coat is something that will make him look
rough and dark as a character, something we feel is linked in with the DJ scene.
6. We used our website as a very good tool for
advertising our products to our fans. In the media
page on the website there is all of the pages of the
digipack for our fans to see and also the whole music
video, linked in from YouTube. This further helps us
create a brand for our DJ and develops the
advertising. This shows a high level of realism to the
website and high professionalism towards the artist
himself.
