neighborhood trouble maker. He quickly began learning how to steal food and money along with
manipulating panks for whosoever should walk into his trap. Reaching his high school years,

To start, I explored the relationship that existed between distance and speed.The speeds of the top
three male and female athletes at each distance have been plotted. For both men and women, there is
an inverse exponential relationship between the speed of the athlete and the event distance. This
trend shows a logical relationship because as the distance of a race increases, the athletes are going
to be slower because running for a longer amount of time requires energy to be conserved.
In order to develop an equation which represents this relationship, I am going to graph the speed of
each athlete against the log of their distance. Because this is an exponential relationship, the log of x

Drugs in sports, also known as doping, is very common around the world. The usage of drugs in
sport goes way back, about all the way back to where the concept of sports was invented, during the
1960's. Doping is a practice that has been going on since the time of "ancient Greek athletes, who
supposedly ate herbs, sesame seeds, dried figs, and mushrooms for this purpose" (Hoberman, 1992,
104).In ancient times, when the fittest of a nation were selected as athletes or combatants, they were
fed diets and given treatments considered beneficial. For instance, Scandinavian mythology says
Berserkers could drink a mixture called "butotens", to greatly increase their physical power at the
risk of insanity. One theory is that the mixture was prepared from the Amanita muscaria mushroom,
though this has been disputed. The German missionary and doctor Albert Schweitzer wrote of
Gabon in the early 19th century: "The people of the country can, having eaten certain leaves or
roots, toil vigorously all day without feeling hungry, thirsty or tired and all the time showing a
happiness and gaiety. In ancient Rome , where chariot racing had become a huge part of their
culture, athletes drank herbal infusions to strengthen them before chariot races.
Many athletes use drugs to make them stronger and faster to win the competition. One of the most
known news about it was when Michael Phelps used steroids in the 2008 Olympics. Even though all
the tests came negative, he still got caught and that is when doping was starting to be more of an
issue. Matthew Irby, a reporter for the Bleacher Report stated, "The drug that Phelps has allegedly
tested positive for is a rarely used and/or seen steroid, DDP. DDP stands for Delphinus Delphis
Ponticus." DDP builds endurance in an athlete by increasing the production of oxygen–rich red
blood cells. Similar to its sister drug EPO, DDP has been modified so that it targets specific areas of
endurance and recovery for swimmers. Given the advantage of taking the illegal steroid, a swimmer
could performer better during races and then recover quicker if another race was soon to come. After

As the year of 2014 winded down, with the ending of the Sochi Olympics, the Executive Board of
the International Olympic Committee devised a list of 40 recommendations with the intention of
shaping the future and the direction of the Olympic Games. These recommendations provide a
strategic guideline to follow heading into the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. These
recommendations can play a key role in improving sport and sport marketing in countries around the
globe. Furthermore, recommendation #26 "To further blend sport and culture" can impact sport
marketing in the country of Russia.
The recommendation additionally explains how a nation can further strengthen the blending of sport
and culture during the Olympic Games as well as the in–between stages. The term Olympism or

He smiles while he stretches his legs, then looks back as he sets his left foot inside the block on the
track.
He smiles again as his right hand stretches back in reach of the baton.
Still, no matter how much he smiles, Matthew Crawford always find himself coming in first or
second place, crossing the finish line.
He said he knows he needs to shave off a few seconds, but still he knows he's, as quick as a flash of
lightning.
Competing in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100 sprint, Crawford can run a 11.95 in the 100m and a
24.67 in the 200.
He's the third leg in the Palo Verde High School men's 4x100 team and he gives it his all, as he
hurriedly paces himself to the finish line.
Crawford said, "running is my life."
He said working out empowers his body to be strong and he stays ready to run his best around the
track.
Therefore, to be the best he can be, and to give the best him possible, he stays hydrated, pushes
himself past his limits, breathe deeply and pump his way to the finish line.
Graduating in less than 22 days, Crawford shared what life on the track is like before it all ends so

How did you get started with track?
Oh well, my mom used to run the 400m sprint, so she turned me onto the idea. I was doing golf, but
I didn't really like golf, so I decided to go out and do track.
What are your goals for the remainder of this season?
Be faster! I'm trying to run like an 11.5 in the 100m sprint. Hopefully, I'll make it to CIF, but IVL is
fine with me.
Do you see yourself as a college or pro athlete in track?

today is if we should make an Olympics bid. When you chose to put Calgary up for an Olympic bid,

For the Summer Olympic games in 2024 I choose Los Angeles as the host city because it hosted the
1932 games. Another reason I picked Los Angeles was because they are the most diverse city in
America but they are also the Western capital of the US, The Northern Capital of Latin America, and
Eastern capital of the Pacific Rim.
With that there are three main examples of communication management to help LA secure its vote
in the Olympic bid.
1) Communication Process– Los Angeles released a video calling it "LA24" and it shows why LA
should be chosen to hold the 2024 Olympics by having facts about LA come up throughout the
video while watching someone run or swim or bike.
2) Sport Organizational Image– LA has hosted the Olympic games in 1932 so they aren't new to this
huge sporting event. The target audience in the "LA24" is focused on all ages and races. I think they
wanted to show that LA welcomes everyone of every race, language, ect.
