The experimental group was exposed to 254 nm of UV–C light for thirty seconds after one week after the seeds were initially planted. At this point in
the experiment, all of the plants had already sprouted. If both seeds in a quad cell had sprouted, one plant was cut at soil level in order to maintain a
maximum of four plants per quad.
Over the next month, we watered each cell with 1 ml of water each day. Every Tuesday each plant's height, number of leaves and stem diameter were
