Carmelo Anthony Case Study
Carmelo Anthony has made plenty of game winning shots in his career and continues to prove it this season with the New York Knicks. The New

The team seemed to have returned to the triangle offense made famous by hall of fame coach now team president Phil Jackson. Anthony addressed
the media as to whether or not the team returned to the triangle for a specific reason and he denounced ever abandoning it. "Is it back? I don't think

Cleveland Cavaliers Research Paper
The Cleveland Cavaliers haven't been that good without LeBron James. Entering their matchup with the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night, the Cavs
were 3–12 in the last two seasons in games that James has missed. With a slim 99–98 victory over Dallas Wednesday in Quicken Loans Arena,
Cleveland showed it is possible to get into the win column without James on the floor. "I thought from what I was looking at, they really competed,"
Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue said of his team's effort without James. "Holding a tough team like Dallas to 95 points, outside of the three that D–Will
(Deron Williams) made at the end of the game, that's a pretty big step." James sat out his third game this season, and the first two occurrences didn't

However, as Nowitzki was about to post up Irving for the game–tying attempt with less than 10 second remaining in the fourth quarter, Irving stole the
ball and was fouled by the future Hall of Famer. The Cavs point guard sank two free throws to ice the game. "We need Kevin and Kyrie definitely
to score the basketball," Lue said before the game. "With LeBron out, you lose 25 points. Everyone else has to step up and also be great offensively,
but we're going to go through Kyrie and Kevin, and they have to produce for us." Irving and Love did just that. Irving led Cleveland with a game–high
33 points and five rebounds. Love added 23 points and 18 rebounds, while Smith finished with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists. Channing
Frye contributed 14 points and three rebounds off the Cavs bench. With the win, Cleveland improved its record to 21–7 against the Western Conference
this season, including winners of 12 of their last 14 contests against the West. Since last season, Cleveland has become accustomed to winning against
Western opponents as the Cavs are 19–2 against the West at The Q since Jan. 21,

Argumentative Essay About Kobe Bryant
As it stands today, Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player to have ever played the game. Some argue that Michael Jordan was better, but he was
not. Some argue that Lebron James is better, but he is not. To compare him to the men who played the center position is a waste of time.
Obviously Shaquille O'Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar were more dominant. They were freaks of nature. What Kobe had that
set him apart from everyone else was a skill set and mentality that is unmatched. Kobe is the best player first and foremost because he was a Los
Angeles Laker for twenty years. Some may say that my bias towards Kobe as a Laker fan discredits my argument, but it does not. First, a list of his
accomplishments. Kobe was drafted out of highschool at the age of seventeen, broke into the league by winning the Slam Dunk contest in his rookie
season, and by age of twenty–five he was a three time world champion. He was the youngest person to be named a NBA All–Star at the age of
nineteen. The combination of his talents with the talents of Shaquille O'Neal was the greatest "one–two punch" of all time. That is an objective fact.
Shaq himself has even admitted that had the duo stayed together after the 2004 season, they most certainly would have gone on to win additional
world championships, but Kobe didn't need Shaq. When it was all said and done, Kobe ended up with five rings to his name to O'Neals four – all five
with the Lakers I might add. I won't lie, Kobe's days in

Pros And Cons Of The NBA
The NBA has had its fair share of young superstars like Dwight Howard, LeBron James, and Amar'e Stoudemire, but it's had an even larger number of
busts such as Anthony Bennett, Jahlil Okafor, and Greg Oden. Players who never quite flourished into the players their clubs wanted. There is an easy
solution to this problem, an age limit. Extending the age limit from one and done to 20 or 21, would be very beneficial for the players, the teams, and
both the NCAA and NBA.
First of all, the NCAA would make much more money. The stars would stay in the NCAAa little bit longer. So teams like KU and Kentucky can ride
out big names like Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant. It will also benefit smaller teams. For example, say a smaller school like Eastern Kentucky or
Dayton, gets a big name or a superstar that draws a big crowd, that school will make more and more money off those large crowds. Additionally, that
player would draw attention from other superstars and even out the playing field, in a way. If that happens, teams like Dayton being close in talent to
teams like Kansas, the NCAA would have very heated competition all year long, which would get the NCAA even more money off of fans buying
gear and watching games at home. Also, the NCAA will be more star heavy, drawing attention from crowds everywhere, further expandingbasketball's
reach
Next, the NBA will also be satisfied with the numbers showing in the bank. The stars that have an age limit will be more mature, more fundamentally

Kevin Durant's Selection Process
July 1st is the beginning of the pursuit. We all knew it was coming. Kevin Durant begins his selection process. With the massive TV deal leading to
the rising cap, Durant will have many options. He has narrowed it down to six teams; the Thunder, Warriors, Spurs, Celtics, Heat, and Clippers. I have
dissected the candidates.
Thunder– No brainer. Durant was drafted by the Thunder (Supersonics) number 2 overall in the2007 NBA draft. Durant has blossomed into a superstar
with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 7X All–Star described as the "scoring prodigy" has won the scoring title four times. The face of the franchise,

KD in Green, charging out of the tunnel at the TD Bank North Garden to his first NBA title, 18th franchise title, permanently stamping his title as
one of the greatest if all time. This is the scrawny kid that was chosen second to Greg Oden (gotta love the NBA draft) in 2007. Durant is not about
wasting anyone's time. JHe wants to go where he can lead his team and win a title. A place he can call home, cement his legacy. No better place than
the Celtics. The Celtics are an organization rich with tradition, from Larry Bird to Bill Russell, no one can argue the deep history seeping through
Legends Way around the Garden. Currently, they have a solid young defensive team and the money to spend to acquire one or two missing pieces.
Durant has raved about the Celtics organization before. They are definitely the dark horse in this game.
Heat– All honesty, outside of the weather and no state tax I have no idea why he would choose to go to the Heat. Whiteside is a free agent and will
most likely sign elsewhere, Wade will likely be resigned but is on the downside of his career, and no Bosh. The Heat are expected to enter free
agency with about $42 million in cap space, there would have to be some maneuvering on the part of the Heat to sign Durant and still have a team
around him that can compete for the title. No

Basketball Shoes Research Paper
There are plenty of trends that go on in our modern day era. One of the most expensive ones would be the increasing price in basketball shoes. The
increasing price is due to many people being brand washed, meaning that the consumer buys the product from a brand, just because of the name and
the status of it. Also an increase in labor costs in China all are factors that increase the price of basketball shoes in China. Because of the increase in
material cost, it increases the general release cost for a sneaker. The effect of constantly increasing shoe prices on the consumer market, is that brands
will start releasing sneakers with storylines / special editions, and will charge at least a two hundred dollar price tag for coveted sneakers. ... Show more

Though the price tags on these basketball shoes can be seen as ridiculous, these companies are still making a huge sales off these shoes, largely because
our society brand washed most of these brands customers to pay that much for shoes. According to www.statista.com,Nike's revenue worldwide is
$30,601 Million, their net income worldwide is $3,273 million and there number of retail stores worldwide is 931. Also according to
www.statista.com , Adidas net sales worldwide is 14,535 million Euros, their net profit was 524 million Euros and their number of stores worldwide
is 1,746. Even with these hefty prices, at which companies are selling their products, they are still making huge profits globally and will continue to
make big profits, due purely to the name of their brand, despite the prices. The increases in these companies prices, it has increased the price of other
companies basketball shoes such as, Under Armor and Peak. Also it has sunk cheaper shoe companies like And–1 and Reebok.
Also to include more foreign basketball shoe companies, for example China's Li–Ning made 1.11 billion in revenue and a Net income of 318.8 million,
also China's Peak brand brought in over 530 million in revenue and can be seen on NBA players feet all over the league. These prices are not only
burning holes in people 's pockets but they are also sending the young crowds crazy, to the point where it is leading to violence. Rising sneaker prices

Houston Coaches Worksheet
The San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets are facing off in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs. Amidst two of the top 3 MVP
candidates meeting in dramatic fashion, one of the key highlights of the series is the coaching battle. Perhaps the greatest coach in the history of the
NBA meets perhaps the greatest offensive minded coach of all–time. Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs and Mike D'Antoni of the Houston
Rockets have their teams poised to advance to the Conference Finals and contend for a championship. How will their coaching styles impact this series?

Throughout the series, we have seen the Spurs transition from keeping up with the Rockets uptempo style, to enforcing their defensive prowess, and
disrupting the game plan of Houston. We have seen Houston, however, expand the floor and knock down the long ball at a tremendous rate. Going
forward, there are issues that both coaches need to fix. For one, the free flowing Houston offense is slowly but surely reverting back to heavy
reliance on James Harden. D'Antoni needs to implement more of his bench, generate even more points inside the 3 point arc, and find a way to
contain Kawhi Leonard. For Pop, closing out the series will mean exploiting Houston in every way possible. Without Nene, and an incompetent Ryan
Anderson on defense, the coaching staff needs to ingratiate Pau Gasol into the offense more effectively. 4 points in 20 minutes for a future
Hall–of–Famer, no matter how old, is unacceptable, and like we've seen with the great Eric Spoelstra in Miami during the big 3 era, Pop has to
dump the ball into Gasol to get him going the way Spo did Chris Bosh. This way there is more cohesion on the offensive end and more guys are in
rhythm when slumps occur. The finale of this series will come down to the coaching, and the coach who implements better strategy will be

Rudy Gay Team Case Study
After the Toronto Raptors traded Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings on December 9, 2013, the Raptors has experienced a transformation that rarely
occurs in the NBA. Trading the best player on your team and expecting victories is basically ironic in the NBA, but the Raptors accomplished this
nearly impossible feat. Rudy Gay was considered as the leader and best player of the Raptors before the trade; his style of play usually included a
frequent amount of low quality shots. Also, his usage rate is among one of the highest in the NBA, which equals that other teammates will not receive
as many touches and as many shots, staggering their team chemistry and growth. However, his ultra–high usage rate came with one of the lowest

Nike Commercial : A Commercial Analysis Of Ike's Commercial
ike's Equality Advertisement
The "Equality" Nike commercial is a powerful commercial for all individuals as it inspires them to bring positive change in their communities. The
focal message of Nike's advertisement is that equality has no borders, it can overcome anything on its paths, and together we can help equality reach
infinite borders. Because one person's, race, religious belief, sexuality does not define what equality is. Therefore, there is no one better than others.
The purpose of the commercial was to sell Nike brand and shows that during the current time we are in, many people lose hope and feel powerless,
because of one's brought down an entire race, saying negative things about that race. However, others are hearing their silent cries, stars like Kevin
Durant, LeBron James who is basketball players. They are using their voice to tell the people that the way equality is practiced in sports, example in
the commercial the author is explaining in sport, that one's is defined by their actions not their looks or believe. Equality should have no boundaries.
These rules should be applied outside of sports.
The commercial uses pathos to strengthen its message through emotional appeals example, when LeBron James was feeling Indignation because he
looked ragged at the end of the commercial when he stated (if we can be equals here... we can be equals everywhere.) The target audience for this
commercial is that of people who love playing sports, people of color, women,

The Golden State Warriors' recent NBA title will prove to be a turning point in basketball's evolution. While the game has been steadily drifting away
from the Goliath vs. Goliath monotony of center–oriented post play, league–MVP Stephen Curry & Co. shattered several prevailing NBA myths when
they finished off Lebron James' Cleveland Cavaliers 105–97 in Game 6. The Warriors proved a jump–shooting team can win the NBA title, even
without an inside presence. The San Antonio Spurs seemed to dispel this misconception a year prior when their 3–point barrage buried the Miami Heat
in the 2014 NBA Finals. However, naysayers pointed to the interior threats of Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter as to the cause behind the victory,

Takeaways Analysis
On Sunday night, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 132–113 in Game 2 of the 2017 NBA Finals, taking a commanding 2–0
series lead. Even though Cavaliers' superstar LeBron James notched his eighth NBA Finals triple–double, tying him with Magic Johnson for the most
in NBA Finals history, it was not enough to overcome the offensive firepower of the Warriors.
Just like in Game 1, it was once again the Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry show.
Here are three takeaways from Game 2:
1. Kevin Durant is on his way to potentially being named Finals MVP
After his phenomenal Game 1 performance, many people wondered what Kevin Durant would do for an encore performance in Game 2?
To answer that question, Durant did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite his stellar perimeter defense, the Warriors needed Thompson to find his shot again and give them an extra offensive boost in Game 2.
Thompson did just that as he pitched in with 22 points and seven rebounds, plus knocked down 4–of–7 from three–point range. Give Thompson credit
though, he is an outstanding shooter and when you are a shooter like him, you need to have a short memory.
A missed shot will not make or break you. Thompson was knocking down shots inside the arc, putting the ball on the floor, and dialing it up from
distance.
The Warriors will need him to continue to shoot the ball like he did on Sunday night, especially if they want to win Game 3 on Tuesday night and take
a commanding 3–0 series lead.
3. LeBron James is still the greatest player in the world but he cannot do it all
Once again in the NBA Finals, LeBron James gave us another special performance. As I mentioned earlier, James posted his eighth NBA Finals
triple–double consisting of 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, but it was not enough.
Early in the game, James was playing like a man possessed. He was controlling the tempo, attacking the basket with force and tenacity, while also
getting his teammates involved. He also threw down a powerful dunk on Andre Iguodala, who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
However, James' teammates could not reciprocate the favor and help him out. Just like in Game 1, J.R. Smith, who

Cleveland Cavaliers Game Analysis
After producing a very lethargic performance in Game 1, nobody truly knew how the Cleveland Cavaliers would look in Game 2 of their opening
round NBA Playoffs series against the Indiana Pacers. Before Wednesday night's Game 2, Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue wouldn't reveal if he had made
any changes to his starting lineup, only adding to the mystery that filled the Quicken Loans Arena air.
"In the playoffs, you're trying to win a championship," Lue said before the game. "That's your main focus...Being strategic in the playoffs, if you tell
your lineup, they can see what matchups they want to do, who's going to guard who, what action to guard, how you want to guard it."
Lue had good reason to be slightly secretive. The Pacers hammered the Cavs by 18 points in Cleveland's own building in Game 1, and the Cavs

Shot Arc Research Paper
When someone is shooting a basketball an important thing that is mostly overlooked is their shot arc. This may only seem like a minor detail
from your shot but its impact is overwhelming. If you are looking to get an outstanding jump shot one thing you need to have is a consistent shot
arc in the mid 40's. A 45 degree shot arc is said to be optimal because 30 degrees is too flat of a shot and it leaves barely enough room for the ball to
enter the hoop and a 50 degree shot arc is just too high and it makes getting the shot up much harder than necessary. A 45 degree shot arc being
optimal is backed up by one of the greatest shooters ever Stephen Curry. Curry has an average shot arc of 46 degrees and has a steeper launch angle

Kobe Bryant : The Greatest Basketball Players Ever
Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest basketball players ever. There's no denying that. He has five world championships, an MVP award, two scoring
titles, 18 All Star appearances, is third all–time in points scored...you get the point.
Ever since Bryant announced he would retire at the end of this season, in a poem published in The Players Tribune, he's had a farewell tour the likes
of which only Derek Jeter could top. Every opposing team regales him with presents. Fans who for years hated him are now lovingly cheering him on.
The media can't get enough of him, and he, in turn, is soaking it all up.
Which is fine. Who am I to say what Kobe deserves? My only point is that, lost in the hoopla surrounding Kobe's farewell tour, two equally deserving
players that haven't announced their retirement but seem destined to do so after year's end are being brusquely overlooked.
Way I see it, there are three main reasons Kobe is getting so much attention while Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan, two exceptional NBA players so
close to retirement themselves, are not:
Kobe announced his retirement ahead of time (a trend on the rise that seems a tad–bit selfish, although exceptionally fun for fans)
He plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, which means that he'll always get more of a spotlight than Duncan or KG, who are playing out their final seasons

Benefits Of Private School Education
How important is it for you to provide this for underprivileged students?
It's huge for me to help all kids, kids are our future if we give them all the tools they can do anything they want in this world. For me, it's trying to put
kids in the right situation, and give them the opportunity to succeed in whatever field they choose.
Did you have many educational experiences such as the one that you're currently providing growing up in SC?
I went to a private high school, my parents received help from a lot of anonymous donors that I'm truly grateful for. It's cool that I'm in the position to
help kids do the same thing that was given to me.
How was the educational system for you growing up before you went to private school?
It was rough, I went to public school up into seventh grade my parents felt like private school was going to help me be a better leader so they stressed a
private school education. It was a dramatic change for me, but I needed it for college, and for after college.
What's the difference between Public and Private School?
It was different, in Public school you have everyone from your neighborhood, and the surrounding neighborhoods, it was fun, but going to private
school is different, you have all these types of kids from all over Charleston that were all about their education. It was a huge change for me and it
took me a while to adjust, but looking back it was the best decision that I made.

Characteristics Of A Basketball Player
Every time I hangout with my friends we somehow end up getting in heated arguments about who the best basketball players are in the league today.
I remember having a few of my friends over at my house after school and leaving them alone for just a second just to come back to the sound of them
arguing over who is better, Kevin Durant or Lebron James. There are many attributes to what make a great basketball player, however there are three
that specifically stick out to me. All Nba players should have certain characteristics in order to be considered great. In order to be a great
basketball player, you must be able to carry your team to win a championship when necessary. The NBA star Lebron James has done this many
times. Lebron shows time and time again that he has what it takes to not only get to the finals, but also get his team the win. Being able to win
multiple championships and even a couple back to back shows how good he really is. Another Nba player who has been able to secure a ring is
Kevin Durant. He hadn't won a championship till last year but he was the key player who got the team over the top with his length, point guard
like handles, and shooting for his size. Being able to be the key piece a team needs to win a ring shows how good of a player he is. Lastly, Steph Curry
is a player who has been a huge piece of a championship team. Both of the times he has won in the finals, he was able to knock off the best player in
the world Lebron James. Steph Curry is

The Importance Of Hard Work In The Game Of Basketball
Kobe Bryant called up his trainer at 4:15 a.m. asking him to come to the gym. They worked out for 75 minutes and had 11 a.m. scrimmage that
day (Manfred 2013). Kobe has the best work ethic in the game of basketball. The first time I watched Kobe was 2008 and since then I started
playing the game of basketball. I loved and lived for the competitiveness and the feeling of winning a game and it wanted me to work harder to get
better every day. Kobe Bryant and the game of basketball had leaded me to the belief that hard work will always lead to success regardless of any
circumstances. Kobe was the hardest worker in the NBA, and now he is the greatest of all time. I believe that people who work hard and are
determined the whole way will always be successful in life no matter what the circumstances are.
Did you know Michael Jordan didn't make the high school team when he was a sophomore? Now he is known as one of the greatest players in the
game. After MJ got cut from the team, he just started working because he knew he could improve in some way. People who work hard will be able
to make them better at any area they want to improve on. I remember when one of my favorite coaches told me, "you will never be good, you will just
be better"– Julio Agosto. What he told me really made me follow more into my belief of working hard because it had me thinking about people who
pretty much already made it. For example, LeBron James is the greatest NBA player in the league. But, LeBron still

Even though the Timberwolves lost 109–105, it was impressive to see LaVine knock down three–pointers consistently with his quick release. On
numerous occasions against the Kings, LaVine showed that he was able to come off the pick down and knock down the three–pointer, along with
knocking it down off the dribble. The three–point shot has been LaVine's best friend, since he entered the NBA. In his rookie season, LaVine shot 34.1

Essay on Athletes: Playing for Pay
Should professional athletes earn millions of dollars for playing a game? Athletes should not be making millions and millions of dollars while
more important jobs earn significantly less. There are doctors who save lives daily and they do not even make a tenth of what some athletes make.
It is crazy to believe that someone is really worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and all they have to do is play a sport; a sport that millions of people
would play for free if given the chance. Where does all of this money come from to pay these superstar athletes? It comes from the fans. The same
fans that cry when their team loses, celebrates when they win and pay six dollars for a beer and seven dollars for a deluxe hot dog at their team's game.

Drew Brees earns $410,000 per touchdown, which is almost a third of what an American worker makes over their lifetime (Doyle). A lot of the time,
an athlete will say "it's not about the money". If it is not about the money, then why do players threaten to skip training camp or demand to be traded
because they do not like their contract? Ty Law was once quoted saying he wanted more than the seven million he was guaranteed because he "has to
eat" (Lefebrve). It is crazy to think that someone could be so selfish to old out of their contract because they need more than seven million dollars
to eat. The average physician makes roughly $191,000 a year, which is a tenth of what a professional athlete makes for playing a game
("Physician: Salary"). A doctor also has to go to college for four years, then turn around and go to medical school and pay hundreds of thousands of
dollars, whereas to go to the NBA a player only needs one year of college experience. Doctors save lives daily and they make a considerable
amount less than what a pro athlete makes. Doctors are considerably underpaid for the value of work that they put in compared to athletes. A
surgeon or doctor who repairs a brain, heart, or limbs, and saves people's lives every day, doesn't even get close to that amount of money. What is
ironic, is that many of the times a doctor will be helping an athlete rehab so that they can get back on the field or court and continue to get paid

Analysis Of The NBA Finalss
The Marquee match up in the 2017 NBA Finals will surround Lebron James vs. Stephen Curry. Despite not matching up positions wise, James and
Curry will meet in their third consecutive NBA Finals, having split the pair. Just like in a good ol' fashion game of 1 on 1, the third game decides
the tie break. Positions wise, James and Kevin Durant will be the main story of the finals with Curry and Kyrie Irving holding equal importance. But
perhaps the most impactful match up is Klay Thompson and J.R Smith. The Warriors have a big 4, while the Cavaliers have a traditional big 3.
Contrary to popular belief, a big 4 is not what the Warriors have had throughout these playoffs. In the postseason, Klay Thompson has averaged a

The stark contrast between both players may not even be in their pure production level, but rather in their confidence. J.R Smith's confidence
seems to be at an all time high. Klay Thompson's seems to be at its lowest point since his rookie and sophomore seasons, if that. Their roles in the
offense differ, however. J.R Smith plays about 25 minutes a game, to Klay's 35. Thompson is looked upon to do more for Golden State, which
includes but is not limited to: guarding the opposing team's best perimeter player, coming off screens for threes, and a higher volume of shots
attempted. However, it is J.R Smith who's production will be more vital. The Cavaliers thankfully have many safety nets for Smith in the event of
lackluster play. The addition of Kyle Korver gives Cleveland flexibility at the 2 guard spot, with a deadeye three point shooter who can keep up
with the likes of the splash brothers in the long ball department. A defensive liability admittedly, the Cavs also have Iman Shumpert at their disposal.
A great defender who plays better off ball defense than Smith, "Shump" often times has a sporadic offensive game which comes and goes. J.R Smith
will be the bearer of tremendous burden. Looked upon to be that fourth scorer for Cleveland's front line, Smith will have to come into the lineup
prepared to play smart above all things, and execute at an efficient rate. The Warriors also have flexibility and

Jumping from High School to the NBA Essay
Jumping from High School to the NBA
Ever since Kevin Garnett, a teenager who by–passed college, was drafted as the fifth overall pick in the 1995 National Basketball Association (NBA)
draft, more and more high school teenagers have been making the jump straight to the pros. Since the league draft of 1995, 17 first round picks have
been high school players. This means that about 7 percent of first round draft picks in the NBA have been high school teens skipping out on their
college education to make the jump to the NBA (Chylinski).

The likes of Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady, Amare Stoudamire, and Jermaine O'Neal are setting the tone across the nation for high
schoolers considering by–passing college for the NBA. Two of today's biggest stars, Garnett and Bryant, have never attended college, but both were
immediately successful and popular in the pros (Head to Head). The biggest star in the NBA right now, Garnett, is having an MVP–caliber season and
is leading his team to their best record in franchise history. The teenagers with high hopes admire these professionals living their dream and hope to
someday be in their shoes.
Lebron James, the first pick taken in this year's draft, may be the prototype for an athlete having immediate fame and wealth by jumping straight to
the NBA. Almost undoubtedly, he has set the bar for years to come. Before he even played in an actual NBA game, he already had his own
commercial and shoe deals. When he was a senior in high school, ESPN and ESPN2 were already publicizing his regular season games whenever
they had the chance. Amazingly, as a junior in high school, he was already being considered the next Michael Jordan (Broussard).

Cleveland showed it is possible to get into the win column without James on the floor. "I thought from what I was looking at, they really competed,"
Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue said of his team's effort without James. "Holding a tough team like Dallas to 95 points, outside of the three that D–Will

series lead. The Cavaliers' Big Three dominated Game 2 combining for 89 points. In Game 3, the Cavaliers overcame the largest halftime deficit in
NBA history, 25 points. James finished with 41 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. Anytime King James is on the court it's a marvel to watch. In
retrospect, the Pacers should be up 2–1. Instead, they face a 3–0 deficit. LeBron extended his winning streak to 20 consecutive first round games. In
other words, Paul George will soon be riding into the sunset of Los Angeles.

The drive from Chicago to Arlington Heights was almost an hour long. The whole time in the car I couldn't keep my mind off theChicago Blackhawks

There had to be a way we could find tickets for less than what my dad said they cost. An idea hit me out of no where, I knew my uncle Larry was

day wasn't about me or the game, it was all about my cousin Evie accepting Jesus. As my family and I walked into the Church we all immediately

There has only been one team who has dominated the NBA for more than two decades. It's not the Golden State Warriors... not the Cleveland

one basic goal in mind: win NBA championships. Today, however, the Spurs are facing an uncanny situation. Their best player, Kawhi Leonard, is

Portland Trailblazers And Voters: Case Study
1. Portland Trailblazers The Trailblazers are coming off of a season in which they immensely exceeded expectations, so much so, this year the
Trailblazers are a darling dark horse team among many experts (including my–self). Damian Lillard is among my favorites for the MVP award and
scoring title. He took an enormous step forward last season, and I expect that production to continue into this season. Each season Lillard has
increased his scoring output, played in at least 75 games, and has shot at least 84 percent from the free throw line. The Trailblazers didn't lose any
players of significance this past offseason and they are amongst the youngest teams in the league. They remind me of a poor–mans 2011–2016

Their starting line–up is incredibly athletic and will be one of the most fun teams to watch. 3. Oklahoma City Thunder Many peg Russell Westbrook
as an MVP favorite due to the departure of Kevin Durant, and I don't blame them. Look back to the 2014 season, a season in which Westbrook was
practically a triple–double machine in the absence of Durant. Westbrook is the clear go–to guy and he should lead the Thunder in almost every major
statistical category. In today's NBA, a team needs more than one star, and that is something the Thunder doesn't have, which could prove to be
detrimental to their playoff chances. Don't get me wrong; I do like the additions the Thunder made this past offseason. Bringing in Victor Oladipo,
who could potentially fill that role as the second star if he manages to make an enormous leap, was a great move. But, still, it would be hard for any
team that loses a player with the talent of Durant to repeat their success. Even with all that said, I do think the Thunder will make the playoffs as a low
seed in the West. The talent of Westbrook combined with the continued development of Oladipo, Steven Adams, and Enes Kanter will be enough for
the Thunder to sneak in as a lower tiered

As the summer winds down and the NBA season is upon us, the Golden State Warriors are planning for their fight to claim another championship ring.
Last season, the Warriors won the most games in a single season in NBA history (73), but fell just short of winning back–to–back championships.
Having recruited superstar Kevin Durant, who joined the team this summer, seems to have made Golden State even more frightening than it already
was. However, past experiences have shown us that a cluster of superstars on one team doesn't necessarily mean an automatic ring. LeBron "King"
James and Chris Bosh joined the Heat in 2010, but it took Miami two seasons to get to the top of the mountain after falling to the Dallas Mavericks

Ethnography of Basketball Fan Culture
Ethnography of Basketball Fan Culture Part 1 – Introduction As a basketball fanatic, I choose to investigate how fan culture surrounding basketball has
grown and has become such a fan–oriented league. Basketball has expanded and has become a global phenomenon allowing fans to interact with
athletes and change the way fans watch basketball through social media. Being a basketball fan where you could only watch your favorite teams
games on television and listen on the radio to now being able to stream live games online with your laptop, phone, tablet, etc. There was a time
players could only show their personalities by interviews and newspaper but with social media exposure, fans get to see their favorite basketball in
another way from just seeing them on the court. In a way, fans feel more attached to a player having to interact with a certain player on Twitter,
Facebook, Instagram rather then just reading about them, they get a first hand experience.
Part 2 – Review Of Literature NBA fan culture and its interactions with players have revolutionized the league over the years. Fans only had the
ability to either watch on TV or go see the game but now with Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts, there's a whole new way for fans to interact

"Lebron is going off", my father was telling me. I could barely hear it though over how loud was at the insane game. I was the game of the year. The

Cleveland Cavaliers Game Analysis
After producing a very lethargic performance in Game 1, nobody truly knew how the Cleveland Cavaliers would look in Game 2 of their opening

Lue had good reason to be slightly secretive. The Pacers hammered the Cavs by 18 points in Cleveland's own building in Game 1, and the Cavs

Characteristics Of A Basketball Player
Every time I hang out with my friends, we somehow end up getting into heated arguments about who the best basketball players are in the league
today. I remember having a few of my friends over at my house after school and leaving them alone for just a second to come back to the sound of
them arguing over who is better, Kevin Durant or Lebron James. There are many attributes of what makes a greatbasketball player, however there are
three that specifically stick out to me.
He hadn't won a championship till last year, but he was the key player who got the team over the top with his length, point guard
like handles, and shooting for his size. Being able to be the key piece a team needs to win a ring shows how good of a player he is. Lastly, Steph Curry

about that one player; it's about the opportunity cost of picking that one player over everyone else, and it's not as if Bennett's 2013 draft class has
blown the league away. Re–draft today, and it's plausible – likely, actually – that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Rudy Gobert would be the top two...

Love for Wiggins alone is a freaking home run, considering the history of superstar trades and Love's desire to bolt Minny. We do know that Bennett
is done after an even more miserable sophomore year in Minnesota. The Wolves will shave off some of Bennett's $5.8 million salary for this season,
and they clearly couldn't give Bennett away. They peddled him everywhere, including to teams with cap space to absorb him in exchange for a token
top–55–protected second–round pick Minnesota would never see, per several league sources. No one bit. The Wolves probably could have dumped
him on Portland or Philadelphia by attaching a second–round pick, and most second–round picks aren't worth $5.8 million. But Minnesota's upcoming
second–rounders will be high, and if Glen Taylor is willing to eat most of that $5.8 million to preserve the 37th pick, that's good for the franchise.
Knowing Philly, it'd have demanded more than one second–rounder to get him, anyway. Such a deal would have netted a nice trade exception, but a lot
of those expire unused. The league knew Minnesota had 16 guaranteed contracts, one over the maximum roster ceiling, and that it needed to dump
someone. But there was another option: keep Bennett, and cut someone else – likely Croatian sharpshooter Damjan Rudez. The roster is only
overstocked because Minnesota felt it needed three hardened vets in Kevin Garnett, Tayshaun Prince, and Prof. Andre

Carmelo Anthony clutch shots keep Knicks in playoff hunt

  • 1. Carmelo Anthony Case Study Carmelo Anthony has made plenty of game winning shots in his career and continues to prove it this season with the New York Knicks. The New York Knicks are still alive in the Eastern Conference playoff race surprisingly after staggering through the first half of the season. Carmelo Anthony made sure the Knicks remain in the hunt after dashing division rival Philadelphia 76ers hopes at Madison Square Garden last night. The 10 time All–Star sank the game winning basket with .03 of a second remaining to clinch a 110–109 victory. https://twitter.com/NBATV/status /835690372496035840 Anthony led all scorers with 37 points on a very efficient 60 percent shooting from the field spoke to MSG Networks about the game winning shot during the on court interview. "I got the space I wanted and a good look at the basket, A win's a win."... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The team seemed to have returned to the triangle offense made famous by hall of fame coach now team president Phil Jackson. Anthony addressed the media as to whether or not the team returned to the triangle for a specific reason and he denounced ever abandoning it. "Is it back? I don't think it ever left. It was always an emphasis since three years ago. It's always been an emphasis on how we're going to play, how we want to play. That's our system. It's just a matter now of looking at it more and doing it more and being more consistent with it." Anthony has never been a stranger to the big game winning moments throughout his career constantly called upon to be the closer for his team. This season alone Anthony with tonight being his third game winning shot sits alone atop of the league leaderboards in go ahead buckets with under five seconds remaining in the ... • 2. Cleveland Cavaliers Research Paper The Cleveland Cavaliers haven't been that good without LeBron James. Entering their matchup with the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night, the Cavs were 3–12 in the last two seasons in games that James has missed. With a slim 99–98 victory over Dallas Wednesday in Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland showed it is possible to get into the win column without James on the floor. "I thought from what I was looking at, they really competed," Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue said of his team's effort without James. "Holding a tough team like Dallas to 95 points, outside of the three that D–Will (Deron Williams) made at the end of the game, that's a pretty big step." James sat out his third game this season, and the first two occurrences didn't go well for Cleveland... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, as Nowitzki was about to post up Irving for the game–tying attempt with less than 10 second remaining in the fourth quarter, Irving stole the ball and was fouled by the future Hall of Famer. The Cavs point guard sank two free throws to ice the game. "We need Kevin and Kyrie definitely to score the basketball," Lue said before the game. "With LeBron out, you lose 25 points. Everyone else has to step up and also be great offensively, but we're going to go through Kyrie and Kevin, and they have to produce for us." Irving and Love did just that. Irving led Cleveland with a game–high 33 points and five rebounds. Love added 23 points and 18 rebounds, while Smith finished with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists. Channing Frye contributed 14 points and three rebounds off the Cavs bench. With the win, Cleveland improved its record to 21–7 against the Western Conference this season, including winners of 12 of their last 14 contests against the West. Since last season, Cleveland has become accustomed to winning against Western opponents as the Cavs are 19–2 against the West at The Q since Jan. 21, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Argumentative Essay About Kobe Bryant As it stands today, Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player to have ever played the game. Some argue that Michael Jordan was better, but he was not. Some argue that Lebron James is better, but he is not. To compare him to the men who played the center position is a waste of time. Obviously Shaquille O'Neal, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar were more dominant. They were freaks of nature. What Kobe had that set him apart from everyone else was a skill set and mentality that is unmatched. Kobe is the best player first and foremost because he was a Los Angeles Laker for twenty years. Some may say that my bias towards Kobe as a Laker fan discredits my argument, but it does not. First, a list of his accomplishments. Kobe was drafted out of highschool at the age of seventeen, broke into the league by winning the Slam Dunk contest in his rookie season, and by age of twenty–five he was a three time world champion. He was the youngest person to be named a NBA All–Star at the age of nineteen. The combination of his talents with the talents of Shaquille O'Neal was the greatest "one–two punch" of all time. That is an objective fact. Shaq himself has even admitted that had the duo stayed together after the 2004 season, they most certainly would have gone on to win additional world championships, but Kobe didn't need Shaq. When it was all said and done, Kobe ended up with five rings to his name to O'Neals four – all five with the Lakers I might add. I won't lie, Kobe's days in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Pros And Cons Of The NBA The NBA has had its fair share of young superstars like Dwight Howard, LeBron James, and Amar'e Stoudemire, but it's had an even larger number of busts such as Anthony Bennett, Jahlil Okafor, and Greg Oden. Players who never quite flourished into the players their clubs wanted. There is an easy solution to this problem, an age limit. Extending the age limit from one and done to 20 or 21, would be very beneficial for the players, the teams, and both the NCAA and NBA. First of all, the NCAA would make much more money. The stars would stay in the NCAAa little bit longer. So teams like KU and Kentucky can ride out big names like Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant. It will also benefit smaller teams. For example, say a smaller school like Eastern Kentucky or Dayton, gets a big name or a superstar that draws a big crowd, that school will make more and more money off those large crowds. Additionally, that player would draw attention from other superstars and even out the playing field, in a way. If that happens, teams like Dayton being close in talent to teams like Kansas, the NCAA would have very heated competition all year long, which would get the NCAA even more money off of fans buying gear and watching games at home. Also, the NCAA will be more star heavy, drawing attention from crowds everywhere, further expandingbasketball's reach Next, the NBA will also be satisfied with the numbers showing in the bank. The stars that have an age limit will be more mature, more fundamentally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Kevin Durant's Selection Process July 1st is the beginning of the pursuit. We all knew it was coming. Kevin Durant begins his selection process. With the massive TV deal leading to the rising cap, Durant will have many options. He has narrowed it down to six teams; the Thunder, Warriors, Spurs, Celtics, Heat, and Clippers. I have dissected the candidates. Thunder– No brainer. Durant was drafted by the Thunder (Supersonics) number 2 overall in the2007 NBA draft. Durant has blossomed into a superstar with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 7X All–Star described as the "scoring prodigy" has won the scoring title four times. The face of the franchise, Durant is the leader and face of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Before he makes the decision (no TV special needed), the Thunder will... KD in Green, charging out of the tunnel at the TD Bank North Garden to his first NBA title, 18th franchise title, permanently stamping his title as one of the greatest if all time. This is the scrawny kid that was chosen second to Greg Oden (gotta love the NBA draft) in 2007. Durant is not about wasting anyone's time. JHe wants to go where he can lead his team and win a title. A place he can call home, cement his legacy. No better place than the Celtics. The Celtics are an organization rich with tradition, from Larry Bird to Bill Russell, no one can argue the deep history seeping through Legends Way around the Garden. Whiteside is a free agent and will most likely sign elsewhere, Wade will likely be resigned but is on the downside of his career, and no Bosh. The Heat are expected to enter free agency with about $42 million in cap space, there would have to be some maneuvering on the part of the Heat to sign Durant and still have a team around him that can compete for the title. The increasing price is due to many people being brand washed, meaning that the consumer buys the product from a brand, just because of the name and the status of it. Also an increase in labor costs in China all are factors that increase the price of basketball shoes in China. Because of the increase in material cost, it increases the general release cost for a sneaker. Throughout the series, we have seen the Spurs transition from keeping up with the Rockets uptempo style, to enforcing their defensive prowess, and disrupting the game plan of Houston. We have seen Houston, however, expand the floor and knock down the long ball at a tremendous rate. Going forward, there are issues that both coaches need to fix. For one, the free flowing Houston offense is slowly but surely reverting back to heavy reliance on James Harden. D'Antoni needs to implement more of his bench, generate even more points inside the 3 point arc, and find a way to contain Kawhi Leonard. For Pop, closing out the series will mean exploiting Houston in every way possible. Without Nene, and an incompetent Ryan Anderson on defense, the coaching staff needs to ingratiate Pau Gasol into the offense more effectively. 4 points in 20 minutes for a future Hall–of–Famer, no matter how old, is unacceptable, and like we've seen with the great Eric Spoelstra in Miami during the big 3 era, Pop has to dump the ball into Gasol to get him going the way Spo did Chris Bosh. Nike Commercial : A Commercial Analysis Of Ike's Commercial ike's Equality Advertisement The "Equality" Nike commercial is a powerful commercial for all individuals as it inspires them to bring positive change in their communities. The focal message of Nike's advertisement is that equality has no borders, it can overcome anything on its paths, and together we can help equality reach infinite borders. Because one person's, race, religious belief, sexuality does not define what equality is. Therefore, there is no one better than others. The purpose of the commercial was to sell Nike brand and shows that during the current time we are in, many people lose hope and feel powerless, because of one's brought down an entire race, saying negative things about that race. However, others are hearing their silent cries, stars like Kevin Durant, LeBron James who is basketball players. They are using their voice to tell the people that the way equality is practiced in sports, example in the commercial the author is explaining in sport, that one's is defined by their actions not their looks or believe. Equality should have no boundaries. These rules should be applied outside of sports. The commercial uses pathos to strengthen its message through emotional appeals example, when LeBron James was feeling Indignation because he looked ragged at the end of the commercial when he stated (if we can be equals here... we can be equals everywhere.) The San Antonio Spurs seemed to dispel this misconception a year prior when their 3–point barrage buried the Miami Heat in the 2014 NBA Finals. This may only seem like a minor detail from your shot but its impact is overwhelming. If you are looking to get an outstanding jump shot one thing you need to have is a consistent shot arc in the mid 40's. A 45 degree shot arc is said to be optimal because 30 degrees is too flat of a shot and it leaves barely enough room for the ball to enter the hoop and a 50 degree shot arc is just too high and it makes getting the shot up much harder than necessary. Ever since Bryant announced he would retire at the end of this season, in a poem published in The Players Tribune, he's had a farewell tour the likes of which only Derek Jeter could top. Every opposing team regales him with presents. Fans who for years hated him are now lovingly cheering him on. The media can't get enough of him, and he, in turn, is soaking it all up. Which is fine. My only point is that, lost in the hoopla surrounding Kobe's farewell tour, two equally deserving players that haven't announced their retirement but seem destined to do so after year's end are being brusquely overlooked. Way I see it, there are three main reasons Kobe is getting so much attention while Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan, two exceptional NBA players so close to retirement themselves, are not: Kobe announced his retirement ahead of time (a trend on the rise that seems a tad–bit selfish, although exceptionally fun for fans) He plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, which means that he'll always get more of a spotlight than Duncan or KG, who are playing out their final seasons in San Antonio and Minnesota, respectively He's Kobe. There are many attributes to what make a great basketball player, however there are three that specifically stick out to me. All Nba players should have certain characteristics in order to be considered great. In order to be a great basketball player, you must be able to carry your team to win a championship when necessary. The NBA star Lebron James has done this many times. Lebron shows time and time again that he has what it takes to not only get to the finals, but also get his team the win. He hadn't won a championship till last year but he was the key player who got the team over the top with his length, point guard like handles, and shooting for his size. Being able to be the key piece a team needs to win a ring shows how good of a player he is. Lastly, Steph Curry is a player who has been a huge piece of a championship team. The first time I watched Kobe was 2008 and since then I started playing the game of basketball. The fame of Sebastian Telfair, regarded by some as the top young high school point guard in America this year, has been growing since he was 15. He will most likely enter the NBA

  • 30. "Holding a tough team like Dallas to 95 points, outside of the three that D–Will (Deron Williams) made at the end of the game, that's a pretty big step." However, as Nowitzki was about to post up Irving for the game–tying attempt with less than 10 second remaining in the fourth quarter, Irving stole the ball and was fouled by the future Hall of Famer. Shooting the breeze outside with my father, I was quietly pondering a question. After staring into the distance, gazing at the alluring pine trees on the horizon glistened by the scorching sun's rays, my dad broke the long silence. He said,"son, why are you so quiet? You seem to be in deep thought." Quietly I responded, "You know that game 4 of the Western Conference Finals is tonight, right?" There had to be a way we could find tickets for less than what my dad said they cost. My entire family was going to be at the church and I wanted to be sure and enjoy the little time with them since I no longer live in Chicago. Plus, the day wasn't about me or the game, it was all about my cousin Evie accepting Jesus. As my family and I walked into the Church we all immediately went to Evie and congratulated her on the big decision. It's not the Golden State Warriors... not the Cleveland Cavaliers... or even the Boston Celtics. Nope! It's the San Antonio Spurs. They are known for being every grandpa's favorite basketball team because they play basketball the "right" way. The Spurs do not care about the flashy passes or windmill dunks that drives every fan crazy. Instead, they have one basic goal in mind: win NBA championships. • 35. Portland Trailblazers And Voters: Case Study 1. Portland Trailblazers The Trailblazers are coming off of a season in which they immensely exceeded expectations, so much so, this year the Trailblazers are a darling dark horse team among many experts (including my–self). Damian Lillard is among my favorites for the MVP award and scoring title. He took an enormous step forward last season, and I expect that production to continue into this season. Each season Lillard has increased his scoring output, played in at least 75 games, and has shot at least 84 percent from the free throw line. The Trailblazers didn't lose any players of significance this past offseason and they are amongst the youngest teams in the league. Their starting line–up is incredibly athletic and will be one of the most fun teams to watch. 3. Oklahoma City Thunder Many peg Russell Westbrook as an MVP favorite due to the departure of Kevin Durant, and I don't blame them. Look back to the 2014 season, a season in which Westbrook was practically a triple–double machine in the absence of Durant. Westbrook is the clear go–to guy and he should lead the Thunder in almost every major statistical category. In today's NBA, a team needs more than one star, and that is something the Thunder doesn't have, which could prove to be detrimental to their playoff chances. Don't get me wrong; I do like the additions the Thunder made this past offseason. Bringing in Victor Oladipo, who could potentially fill that role as the second star if he manages to make an enormous leap, was a great move. But, still, it would be hard for any team that loses a player with the talent of Durant to repeat their success. Even with all that said, I do think the Thunder will make the playoffs as a low seed in the West. The talent of Westbrook combined with the continued development of Oladipo, Steven Adams, and Enes Kanter will be enough for the Thunder to sneak in as a lower tiered ... • 37. Golden State Warriors Research Paper As the summer winds down and the NBA season is upon us, the Golden State Warriors are planning for their fight to claim another championship ring. Last season, the Warriors won the most games in a single season in NBA history (73), but fell just short of winning back–to–back championships. Having recruited superstar Kevin Durant, who joined the team this summer, seems to have made Golden State even more frightening than it already was. However, past experiences have shown us that a cluster of superstars on one team doesn't necessarily mean an automatic ring. LeBron "King" James and Chris Bosh joined the Heat in 2010, but it took Miami two seasons to get to the top of the mountain after falling to the Dallas Mavericks in their first year of assemblage. Teammates trust each other on and off the court, and Durant wanted to be a part of that trust. Basketball has expanded and has become a global phenomenon allowing fans to interact with athletes and change the way fans watch basketball through social media. Being a basketball fan where you could only watch your favorite teams games on television and listen on the radio to now being able to stream live games online with your laptop, phone, tablet, etc. There was a time players could only show their personalities by interviews and newspaper but with social media exposure, fans get to see their favorite basketball in another way from just seeing them on the court. In a way, fans feel more attached to a player having to interact with a certain player on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram rather then just reading about them, they get a first hand experience. Part 2 – Review Of Literature NBA fan culture and its interactions with players have revolutionized the league over the years. Fans only had the ability to either watch on TV or go see the game but now with Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts, there's a whole new way for fans to interact with athletes and stay connected. • 39. Descriptive Essay About Basketball "Lebron is going off", my father was telling me. I could barely hear it though over how loud was at the insane game. I was the game of the year. The Cavs and Warriors were playing in game 7 of the finals. I didn't think a crowd could be so loud and energetic. Halftime was coming up. The score was 49–42. The halftime show was about to start. The players ran to their locker rooms. Then, out of nowhere, "BANG". It was loudest sound I have ever heard. After that a dance group emerged. They were flipping like snowflakes in the air through the main doors. They were dressed in all white. The crowd then got louder than ever before. The Shaq suddenly emerged out of the main doors. He busted out moves right in the middle of the court. I'm not gonna lie, they were terrible. It was very funny though. After what felt like an eternity of Shaq's terrible moves, the most insane moment of my life occurred. It started with the dance group vanishing back through the main doors. Shaq was then alone at halfcourt holding a basketball. I noticed something around his neck however. When I asked my dad what he thought it was, he said it was binoculars. Shaq then started looking through his binoculars scanning the entire Oracle Arena. It seemed like he was looking right at me. There was no way though. Suddenly, he gave an awkward head nod. A little boy then brought him out a microphone. Shaq yelled into the microphone, "You, in the Curry jersey!" It seemed like he was pointing right at me. Shaq then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cleveland Cavaliers Game Analysis After producing a very lethargic performance in Game 1, nobody truly knew how the Cleveland Cavaliers would look in Game 2 of their opening round NBA Playoffs series against the Indiana Pacers. "That's your main focus...Being strategic in the playoffs, if you tell your lineup, they can see what matchups they want to do, who's going to guard who, what action to guard, how you want to guard it." Lue had good reason to be slightly secretive. • 41. Timberwolves Research Paper Thus far, over his short NBA career, Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Zach LaVine has been known for one thing: his high –flying dunks. Ever since his days at UCLA, that is all people could talk about was his athleticism and high–flying acrobatics. However, its only for so long you can hold that moniker until people wonder is that all you can do? This season, LaVine has answered that question in a huge way as he is developing into a polished scoring threat for the Timberwolves, giving them another scoring option outside of Andrew Wiggins and Karl Anthony –Towns. This season, LaVine has upped his statistics across the board from last season. He is averaging 20.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 37.9 minutes per game. Along with his scoring going up, LaVine is shooting a career–best 47 percent from the field and shooting a respectable 38.6 percent from three–point range.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though the Timberwolves lost 109–105, it was impressive to see LaVine knock down three–pointers consistently with his quick release. On numerous occasions against the Kings, LaVine showed that he was able to come off the pick down and knock down the three–pointer, along with knocking it down off the dribble. The three–point shot has been LaVine's best friend, since he entered the NBA. In his rookie season, LaVine shot 34.1 percent from distance but improved in his second season, shooting 38.9 percent from downtown. If LaVine can knock down the three–point shot at a 38 percent clip or better, he will be just that more dangerous as a combo guard on the Timberwolves. • 42. Characteristics Of A Basketball Player Every time I hang out with my friends, we somehow end up getting into heated arguments about who the best basketball players are in the league today. I remember having a few of my friends over at my house after school and leaving them alone for just a second to come back to the sound of them arguing over who is better, Kevin Durant or Lebron James. There are many attributes of what makes a greatbasketball player, however there are three that specifically stick out to me. Being able to win multiple championships and even a couple back to back shows how good he really is. Another NBA player who has been able to secure a ring is Kevin Durant. He hadn't won a championship till last year, but he was the key player who got the team over the top with his length, point guard like handles, and shooting for his size. Being able to be the key piece a team needs to win a ring shows how good of a player he is. Lastly, Steph Curry is a player who has been a huge piece of a championship team. Both of the times he has won in the finals, he was able to knock off the best player in the world Lebron James. Steph Curry is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Watching Anthony Bennett Drift Through Games Few things in the NBA have been as dispiriting over the past two years as watching Anthony Bennett drift through games like a shadow who may or may not be visible to the other players. The Wolves are in the process of cutting bait on Bennett1 with a $3.6 million buyout, putting in play a scenario in which Bennett ends up the worst no. 1 pick in league history – a status he didn't ask for and clearly didn't deserve. Being the "worst" pick isn't just about that one player; it's about the opportunity cost of picking that one player over everyone else, and it's not as if Bennett's 2013 draft class has blown the league away. Love for Wiggins alone is a freaking home run, considering the history of superstar trades and Love's desire to bolt Minny. We do know that Bennett is done after an even more miserable sophomore year in Minnesota. The Wolves will shave off some of Bennett's $5.8 million salary for this season, and they clearly couldn't give Bennett away. They peddled him everywhere, including to teams with cap space to absorb him in exchange for a token top–55–protected second–round pick Minnesota would never see, per several league sources. No one bit. The Wolves probably could have dumped him on Portland or Philadelphia by attaching a second–round pick, and most second–round picks aren't worth $5.8 million. But Minnesota's upcoming second–rounders will be high, and if Glen Taylor is willing to eat most of that $5.8 million to preserve the 37th pick, that's good for the franchise. Knowing Philly, it'd have demanded more than one second–rounder to get him, anyway. Such a deal would have netted a nice trade exception, but a lot of those expire unused. The league knew Minnesota had 16 guaranteed contracts, one over the maximum roster ceiling, and that it needed to dump someone. But there was another option: keep Bennett, and cut someone else – likely Croatian sharpshooter Damjan Rudez. The roster is only overstocked because Minnesota felt it needed three hardened vets in Kevin Garnett, Tayshaun Prince, and Prof. Andre ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
