Comparing 2 magazine covers

- 2. The background colour distracts you because it is so bright it draws your attention to that rather then any of the information. The main image is blurry, and not clear to see therefore its not very appealing to look at, and it doesn’t attract your attention. The barcode is very big and it covers quite a lot of the image. Magazine cover 1 The writing doesn't stand out and catch your eye. The main sell line isn’t very catchy, and doesn’t draw to your attention. The writing is very close to the left third. This is in 2 different bits so it is quite confusing for the reader.
- 3. Magazine cover 2 Has a professional layout. The barcode doesn’t cover any of the picture. The pictures are clear and colourful, so it attracts attention. Background colour attracts to a male and female audience. Has a pull quote,this means that people will be more interested in reading it because it is from real life. Has a date line, so people know when its from. The banner stands out so it draws people’s attention. Left third makes the magazine look well organised. Strap line stands out and catches people’s eyes.

Conclusion In conclusion magazine cover 2 is definitely the better one, because it includes a lot more detail on the front which attracts the audiences attention, such as a banner and a pull quote whereas magazine cover 2 simply just has one big image, and a little bit of writing. Cover 2 also has much clearer images than the image on cover 1 which is blurry, and doesn’t stand out.
