This document evaluates three different magazine covers: 1) The first magazine uses a photo of Adele making eye contact with the reader and bold text and colors to attract attention. Cover lines advertise the content in an engaging way. 2) The second magazine features a photo of a celebrity grabbing their chain to draw the eye. It uses questions in the cover lines and text styles to intrigue readers. 3) The third magazine stands out with a photo of Miley Cyrus making seductive eye contact. It uses decreasing text sizes and bold colors and styles throughout to highlight key information for readers.

It’s attracting you as it’s gold
and its something big for the
magazine to advertise.
Furthermore it is also significant
because of shelving placed on the
right side when you buy it will be
revealed. As the colour is
contrasting with the colour
scheme. However it has been cut
of on the side a little bit, which
should have been fixed , goes
against the rules.
The artist they placed on the front
cover of the magazine has been
captured looking at the reader/
audience. This intensifies the
magazine as they are directly
looking at you, this helps the
magazine grabs the readers
attention. To also support this idea
they have intensified her eye
make-up, which make it bold, sharp
and stand out from the rest of her
face. I want to also add, this could
attract men as she is acting
seductive place her finger next to
her lips and she is looking at the
reader intensely.

I like the idea as they
verbally wrote that
‘Adele blows us away’
this is actually portrayed
physically by her hair as
it is been blown away.
Mast- head
The mast-head is big and
bold and it is presented
behind Adele’s head this
suggests that its is well
known, so they don’t have
to go and flash it around.
Also that the colour is bold
and sharp and it attracts
you as its in the corner
where everyone will notify
when you go into a shop.
Furthermore that colour is
used all the way as a
colour scheme through the
magazine.

unusual they are

Capitals when writing there
cover lines, I think this because
they are trying to make it stand
out and bolder, because not
every magazine uses this, also
emphasize the words.

They have consider where to place him, the
there is a good amount of use in cover lines to
attract the reader. Furthermore they have no
space apart from this small boarder to follow
the alignment and nothing is chopped of from
the side.
They use questions to
attract you, to see what the
answer is. It also seems to
be a rhetorical question, to
question the reader. They
use this repetitively as they
have used it in the cover
lines as well, this is
portrayed as an

thing to catch the reader’s attention is a

The cover lines seem to
decrease with importance
by the size of the text, this
creates a great affect on
the magazine and it is a
part of breaking the rules.
However it highlights the
greatest news or what the
readers are mostly
interested in.
Again with the eye contact of the
celebrity, Miley a Cyrus has made
her eyes be covered with black
make-up to intensify her eyes, to
make her more deductive and the
colour of pupil contrasts with the
magazines colour scheme. Which
directly make you look at her
eyes, which grab your attention
away. I think we look directly at
Miley Cyrus as there is few cover
lines around her also that she
covers completely the whole
magazine.
She has placed herself naked which is seductive and could
attract young men, as this is also a rock and roll magazine
which does also support this is quite a hard core magazine.
Overall the layout, everything has been placed in a good
place apart from you cant see the barcode and that the
cover price and publish date are made really faint, you cant
see it well and no Plugs placed on the magazine.
They have highlighted
what, teenagers would be
interested to read , as
everyone wants to know
the gossip around. I like
