My Narrative Story Of A Youtube Channel
NARRATIVE STORY
So I made my YouTube channel about 1 year ago, I wanted to do it, but then it was also a dare to do
it. At first I thought it was lame, but then I started making more and more videos and got people to
actually subscribe to me. Soon I had a few subscribers and I finally noticed all the comments and
likes and subscribers I got. I made a video about that and that video about that and that actually got a
few more views and likes then I expected, I got a few more subscribers here and there and so my
friends who dared me to do it also started noticing. They started talking about since I have a channel
going what videos am I gonna start making and they came up with a few good ideas, my channel

Once they saw I was in pain they took me inside and I told them I felt a pain and I heard a crack,
They thought I just cracked a stick and the pain was from the fall, they thought if they would give
me an ice–pack it would help, they soon realized that didn't help either. I went to the hospital and
they took x–rays and stuff, they came back with a sling and some pictures, I looked at the pictures
and I immediately knew I had a broken collarbone, I put on the sling and went home. The pain I was
in is like you had 1000 pound weights on your arm, because I couldn't move my arm a bit.
I don't know much about my first word but I actually think that it might be chocolate. I enjoyed
chocolate when I was little, which is also why I think that my first word was chocolate because I
loved it so much. If I had a choice to I would actually go back in time and change what my first
word was and I would change it to wow. I sometimes wanna do that but then I also don't because I'd
be surprised if I actually said chocolate. I sometimes think that the reason I said chocolate is because
my brain was still in developing process even though It wasn't very developed like it is right now,
when I think I actually might have said chocolate I actually believe that might have been my first
word, my mom doesn't even remember my first word because It has been maybe around 13

If someone had told me five years ago that I would be a YouTube junkie and Facebook addict, I
would have told them they were insane! I mean, YouTube used to be mostly used only by people
posting embarrassing family videos, as well as by wannabe singers and musicians, posting their
latest accomplishments in the far–fetched hope of being discovered. There was absolutely nothing
about it that interested me. Similarly, while originally created as a study tool for college students,
Facebook has morphed into the largest and most influential social media tool in the world; but at 12
years old, I did not want to be "friends" with adults – especially my parents! Shortly thereafter, I was
required to create a Facebook account for marching band and ... Show more content on

As time passed, the academic demands and expectations of my curriculum intensified, and, so, too,
did my anxiety, .
I am not ashamed to admit using YouTube for entirely mindless entertainment, specifically for
watching a popular video game blogger named Markiplier. In addition to video game blogging,
Markiplier creates "Try Not To Laugh" videos, which are compilations of funny videos intended to
make the viewer laugh – while Markiplier tries not to laugh. It is understandable that some, may
find this to be a huge waste of time, but the videos have consistently made me laugh, which has
been especially useful in relieving stress and tension brought on by my anxiety.
The multiple clubs and organizations to which I belong have been a blessing and a curse, because
while they have provided untold opportunities for extracurricular growth, they have also been
responsible for the elimination of all free time.. I originally began using Facebook as a
communication and organizational tool for my extracurricular groups – especially marching band
and orchestra. It is an easy and efficient way for staff members and student leaders to post
information and updates to members of the group. Facebook also allows me to easily communicate
with friends and family, especially those in distant states (such as California) or in other countries
(such as our student exchange "sister" in Seville, Spain, and my sister's boyfriend and

Should Youtube Comments Be Regulated: Video Analysis
Should Youtube Comments Be Regulated
Have you ever found a Youtube video that you liked and said something like "I never laughed so
hard" or "this is very interesting" and got cursed at or hated against? Would you agree that Youtube
comments should be regulated? It creates jobs, it takes pressure off of people and big time
Youtubers. It wouldn't be a bad thing because it makes Youtube more kid friendly. There's a lot of
people who watch Youtube.
People are always more negative than positive. xx–swaggmaster–xx" marshmello sucks let's be

The Popularity Of The Youtube
Many can agree that since its creation in 2005 YouTube has grown into something that very few had
foreseen. In its infancy, the general public viewed the site as home to just videos of cats doing sill
things or people falling over. However, in recent years, many original YouTubers have gained large
amounts of success from posting their videos online. While some may still view the site as a place
for amateurs to post meaningless videos, Hank and John Green saw something else entirely in the
site. With the creation of VidCon, Project for Awesome, and their original content, John and Hank
Green have used YouTube to create a passionate and influential fan base while also influencing
people around the world through education, community and charity. At the beginning of 2007 John
Green and his brother Hank began posting video blogs to the channel "Vlogbrothers" on YouTube in
order to communicate with one another. They called this project "Brotherhood 2.0" and the two still
post videos on the channel currently. By the end of the year, the videos started garnering more and
more attention as the project slowly shifted from a communication technique to a new, unique form
of entertainment. Meanwhile, John was working on his soon–to–be explosive writing career and
Hank was making his music talents well known within the community (Kaufman, 2013, para. 18–
21). While they may not have been the first "YouTube stars," the Green's were definitely one of the

My Experience Of Youtube Videos
I started off watching YouTube videos of different varieties. I first started with a longer video. I
thought that I would try to watch a comedy video to see if I could still catch the jokes that would
maybe need a voice inflection with it. It was a lot harder to laugh at the jokes because I couldn't hear
the tone of voice that they were using. I found that with all the comedy things I normally would
watch, I didn't laugh as much because I couldn't hear the tone of voice.
The next video was a beauty hack video. I don't normally watch these types of videos because they
are mostly makeup beauty hacks, and I don't wear makeup. But I wanted to see what it would be like
if someone who was Deaf wanted to learn beauty hacks. It was pretty hard to ... Show more content

Hulu's captions were pretty good though. I liked how Hulu used periods and dashes for each new
person talking. I found that YouTube did not use periods, so it felt sometimes like a long run on
sentence. If there were multiple people talking on the YouTube videos it was hard to tell who was
talking in the captions. There would be no indicator of who was saying what. The last T.V. show I
decided to watch was something completely new. I decided to watch The Golden Girls. I had never
seen an episode before so I didn't know what the style of the T.V. show would be like, and I didn't
know the characters so I couldn't imagine their voice saying the words like I kind of could with the
other videos/T.V. shows. I noticed that when the show was about half way over I couldn't wait for it
to be over. I got really annoyed with having to constantly having to read everything or I'd be lost as
to what was happening. With this show I had to read pretty fast because there were so many
characters and they would have line after line. It was a constant looking at the captions and not at
the picture. When I normally watch T.V. I don't use captions. I find them annoying if the captions are
on and the sound is also on. My eye will go down to the captions and not what is happening. When
it was only the captions it was better because the sound was off. But I still got really annoyed having
to read everything if I

YouTube is a video sharing service, the principle of which is quite simple–the user upload videos
and share them with other people.
According to Pashkevich, Dorai– Ray, Kellar & Zigmond (2012), the most popular online
community in the United States as well as in the world is YouTube. In the middle of 2012 YouTube
served in excess of 4 billion viewers worldwide, and at the same time "60 hours of video were
uploaded every minute".YouTube statistics revealed that more than 800 million one– of– a– kind

Youtube Analysis On Youtube Content Essay
YouTube is the one stop shop for a user's video needs. Content ranges from funny home videos to
vlogs to political commentary, with nothing left out in between. To keep access to the site free for
viewers and creators, YouTube adopted a unique business model to maintain viewership and provide
an incentive for creators to post content on the site. This model, though successful, brings an array
of problems when deciding what content a creator can profit from. The method YouTube used to
determine which videos could profit from advertising is unethical as it inhibits content creators'
ability to create entertaining videos to the site. YouTube's business model is unique in that the site
itself does not create any content. Instead the website provides a location for content creators to post
content and for ccontent onsumers to view content. Accounts on the website are free so any user can
sign up, upload content and interact in the YouTube community. This brings in the question: How is
YouTube making enough money to operate? The main answer is by monetizing the content on their
site. According to Merriam–Webster.com, monetize means to "utilize something of value to make a
profit". YouTube used their loyal audiences to sell advertising space to other companies, allowing
advertisements to be played before content. The profits do not just go into the hands of YouTube.

The Challenges Of Youtube
Starting a YouTube channel 10 years ago presented different challenges compared to starting one in
2017. Back in YouTube's early years, it was a simple case of acquiring the necessary gadgets to help
record video and audio. Nowadays, there are hundreds of videos and articles telling you what to do,
and how you should do it. And it can prove a real headache. This article will offer some simple tips
to get you off the ground and to continue to grow your channel in its early stages. Pick a Niche
Firstly, and arguably the most important in 2017, you need to pick a niche. A niche is any product or
service that will apply to a small group of people. Now, this may sound strange, why would you
want to appeal to a small group of people? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is key, because you want your fans and potential subscribers to be able to instantly recognise
your brand. Also, try to create a profile on as many social media platforms as possible, it's important
to have a presence in as range of online spaces. If you don't want friends or family to know about
your channel, make new profiles and create new connections! Record in HD This goes without
saying, really. If you don't record in at least 720p, it may only take a few seconds before a viewer
immediately turns off, and never watches a video again. Every well known channel and most semi–
serious channels will record in 1080p, but if you can only manage 720p for the time being, that's
fine. Moreover, good quality sound recording is critical, as the only thing worse than bad video
quality if bad sound quality. This doesn't mean that you need to invest a lot of money in the latest
Yeti microphone. If you're recording games, then you'll need nothing more than an Xbox or PS4
headset, if you're Vlogging there are plenty of cheap microphones that you can order from Amazon.
Marketing your Channel After you've chosen a niche, created a brand and record your first few
videos, it's time to market! This is where a lot of channels fail, you may have a great personality and
make fantastic videos, but it will come to nothing if no–one knows you exist. Assuming that you've
created a good brand, it shouldn't be too hard. Furthermore, if you've chosen a good niche,
marketing will be

There is nothing more exciting then unlocking my home screen as I'm walking back to my dorm

areas I knew nothing about.
The first YouTuber I had ever subscribed to was, Shane Dawson. He creates hilarious sketch–

mental illness, abuse, identity, and self–esteem. His videos allowed to become more aware of issues
people faced in their daily lives. He always taught me how to be an unapologetic version of myself.
Which led to me coming to terms with my own sexuality and learning how to deal with it.
Not only did YouTube give me a broader perspective on the different people and cultures living in
the world around me, it also drove me to want to pursue a career in the media field. I saw how

Youtube Case Analysis
Fun, creative, motivational, and humorous, private and homemade videos were where YouTube
really shined during the previous decade. Anyone with a computer, camera, and video editing
software had an outlet to show their creative works for fun or presentation, with little restriction
besides time and data limits, or certain language and content, to keep the creative environment
friendly and legal. The addition of advertisement came along with channels becoming more and
more popular, acquiring large followings, yet did not present any more restrictions to the video
sharing site. However, in the recent years, this past decade, YouTube has began to partner with
artists and content creators in order to crack down on the usage of some content, ... Show more

consideration factors, the three most relevant considerations are commercial vs. non commercial
use, portion of material used, and effecting the material owner's ability to make money. Eliminating
the full usage of music is what YouTube uses to justify these regulations on video making. However,
these YouTube users have stated that even 30 seconds is enough to trigger YouTube algorithms and
block or silence the video. This does not seem to violate any of the three relevant regulations.

If a certain individual were to interrogate a select person about what they do during their free time,
their answer would probably be something between the lines of using the internet and anything else
related to it, because let's face it, our race has evolved into a technology–dependent specie. The rise
of the internet has given way to more opportunities especially in the entertainment category which
resulted in more people turning to the internet and away from TV and movies. According to the
2011 Edelman Value, Engagement and Trust in the Era of Social Entertainment Survey, 56% of U.S.
citizens agreed that they frequently accessed the internet more than several years ago and 49% use it
just for the purpose of passing time. Not only are their interests shifting from traditional forms of
entertainment to digital media, but 68% claim that entertainment quality has spiraled down and
doesn't appease their enjoyment as much anymore (Smith, 2011).

The Meaning of Youtube Superstardom
There is no doubt that todays young people have a love affair with the internet, and near it's focus is
the video hosting website, YouTube. YouTube first dotted the Internet radar in February of 2005, and
is an online video–streaming form of entertainment. It was nearly instantly popular, and just as
quickly became one of the most visited websites on the entire World Wide Web. While some
viewers do not welcome its presentation, far more enjoy watching and creating videos on YouTube.
YouTube videos range from being educational, instructional, and comedic, and sometimes plain
stupid. Producing videos to upload to YouTube is being done by people of all ages from all over the
world. According to author Alex K. Rich, "thirty–eight percent of Americans want to distribute
content online."(Rich 1) People were and are looking for a speedy and simple way to view and
upload videos on the Internet to share with the world. YouTube has brought about a new form of
superior amusement and entertainment to its viewers. Some of these personalities have caught fire
on the Internet world. These users become superstars, some overnight, although some take a year to
even get noticed. It has given people a substitute way to reveal themselves in the light of the media.
A new and obtainable way to become famed has been presented to YouTube users, and the videos
that these users post online may just be the ticket to bigger and better things.

Youtube : An Essential Pillar For The World Wide Web
YouTube is a global entity that serves as an essential pillar for the World Wide Web. First
established in February 2005, YouTube became one of the first easily accessible forms of
communication and news, informing the masses about current events with rapidly updating videos.
In present day society, YouTube has become a socializing agent that directly impacts the cultural and
social practices of people all over the world. YouTube is able to beat its competitors by adapting to
the changing times and fitting the evolving interests of it's core demographic, thus rapidly spreading
and creating new ideas and trends, continuously shifting social norms within various communities.
Younger generations are often the driving force behind progression or cultural evolution and through
the use of websites like YouTube, they are able to collaborate on ideas and share new innovations or
trends. The younger demographics generally prefer YouTube's website format over it's competitors,
because of its easiness of navigation and it's graphically appealing design. When you first look up
the website, a bold red box with a play button inside of it, pops up. Selecting this logo leads to the
development of an intriguing website with a crisp white background that highlights the black word
You and the white word Tube, singularly enclosed in a red box. The separation of these two words in
the advertisement of the website heavily pushes the idea of interpersonal interaction. The bold Red

Precarious Affordances for the 'Prosumer'," Jamie Skye Bianco argues that while YouTube's Terms

in fact, she states, "while users may own their videos, an interminable set of licensing agreements
allow YouTube to continue to retain the content as it sees fit" (Bianco 307). In other words, YouTube

In fact, a better solution, which many YouTube content creators – who have received demonetization
and low revenue from YouTube's advertising model on their monetized videos – champion, is the
use of the crowdfunding subscriber–based website Patreon. Patreon (which began in 2013) is a
flexible service that allows creators to earn a money from any content they create – whether on
YouTube videos, songs, covers, or otherwise – with the support of patrons (supporters of the
creator's content or YouTube subscribers), who pay for content monthly or whenever creators post
content (Patreon). Not only does Patreon allow patrons (viewers) to determine the value of the
content creator they support, it also allows creators to generate income without using YouTube's
advertising system at all (Patreon). While there are concerns that Patreon may exploit its users'
donations and earnings, founder Jack Conte, in a 2014 Time Magazine article, "How YouTube Stars
Can Actually Make a Living," promised to "remain focused on creators' interests" and charge "5%
commission on all donations" without increasing this share (Luckerson). Ultimately, with Patreon's
increasing competitiveness, YouTube may notice: fewer creators monetizing their videos; and, as a
result, less advertising revenue; and, finally, more users flocking to Patreon other services to view,

Youtube: Time To Huge Consumers?
YOUTUBE: TIME TO CHARGE USERS?
Over the years Youtube, the online video sharing website, has grown in popularity serving viewers
all over the world with a large variety of content, from user generated videos to more premium
content offered on an array of channels. Currently Youtube generates its revenue from advertising, in
the form of ads on the websites homepage, in–video ads as well as sponsored videos and links
(Elberse & Gupta, 2010). While this business model has allowed the company to grow and
prosper since its inception in 2005, in order for the website to monetize its videos, a new strategy
which sees users paying a subscription fee for access to premium content should be considered. In

Pricing is likely to be a sensitive issue when viewers who are used to getting video for free, now
have to start paying to access certain content. Similar to the world of cable television, all channels
are different when it comes to content and viewership, therefore each channel will look to price
itself differently with respect to its competitors. Youtube should perhaps consider an a–la–carte
pricing model in order to avoid bundling channels, which people may not watch and therefore will
not want to pay for. An alternative strategy would be to start with a small bundle with two well–
known channels with a similar audience together with a lesser known channel that has potential for
growth, in order to help build its viewership. Based on the success of these bundles, they could then
consider slowly adding in more channels. Channel bundling has become a topic of controversy in
the cable television, as prices continue to skyrocket with more and more channels being added,
hence Youtube should learn from this and formulate a payment plan that will satisfy the majority of
its customers and help to limit the number of viewers it may lose due to this new payment structure.
While there are other alternative ways for Youtube to monetize, by charging users for uploading
videos or continuing to solely rely on advertisers, a subscription based business model is more likely

This glitch has cause several content creators, especially small creators, the disappearance of

Youtube And The Working Of The Billion Dollar Website
Abstract
YouTube is the largest video sharing community that had been set up in 2005 by three former
employees of pay pal. Since then YouTube has seen wild growth and has helped it's present owner,
'Google' in earning a huge amount of money.
By my term paper I would like to explore and reason the changes that took place in YouTube and the
working of the billion dollar website. I would like to question the money making mechanism of
YouTube, how it is done and how does it benefit all the people involved, such as the Uploaders,
Viewers and Ultimately YouTube itself.
Further I'll display the rapid nature of growth of YouTube in recent years and talk about it's
acquisition by Google. The reason I chose this topic as the topic for my term paper was because
YouTube and revenue generation by different people on YouTube interested me very much and I
was keen on researching the topic.
Apart from this we'll also see the interview of a YouTube celebrity to know more about 'how money
is made' , 'on what basis they make money' and 'how much of it actually stays with the uploader'.
And we'll analyse all the date to form a rational opinion and conclusion that can sum up our
findings.

Compare And Contrast Twitch And Youtube
Youtube vs. Twitch In in the modern age there are so many ways to have fun from home through
video games that could easily support multiplayer. However, playing online games with friends
could be some much different than streaming it online and have hundreds of people watching and
commenting on the game play. Currently the easiest way to start streaming is through Youtube or
Twitch which both are great sites to start streaming on. One of my friends was trying to find out the
best platform to steam on and asked for an advice so I send him some charts with explanation on all
of them.
In that message I send him I explained that YouTube has a higher fan base then twitch with one
billion active users each month on Youtube vs 45 million on Twitch which that will be interpreted as
a faster way to grow the youtube channel. Also, the majority of the people will not live on twitch,
instead they tend to stay on youtube and if the Youtuber is streaming on Twitch then they will follow
him there.
Then I started to explain the negative side of youtube for gamers by saying that youtube is good

Youtube Career Paper
The career I chose for this report is a gaming Youtuber. The reason i chose this particular job is
because I like to watch lots of gaming youtubers and, it pays really well. Some examples are,
Jacksepticeye, markiplier, and slogoman. All of these people are in the top twenty in the youtube
subscriber count and the person on youtube with the most subscribers is a gamer named pewdiepie.
The thing that I like best about the job is that (1) you get to stay home all day,(2) it takes very little
money to get a Youtube channel started, and (3) you get to play video games for a living.
The thing I would do if I had this job is, as I said before, Stay home record myself playing video

Youtube : A Sustainable Business Model
Introduction
In 2006, Google purchased YouTube for 1.65 billion dollars. After the purchase, people around the
world were skeptical that YouTube would be a sustainable business practice for Google. In order to
utilize YouTube to make money, Google launched the Partner program, which incentivized original
content creators to share and promote their content on the site. Creators who wanted to be involved
became a YouTube Partner, and advertisers bid for ad slots on the most viewed videos and channels.
Partners then receive half or more of this revenue from YouTube as compensation for their work.
Google has used the money and attention YouTube is generating to experiment with different ways
of promoting content on it, such as live–streaming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, YouTube is not infallible. Since its inception, it has faced various issues that impact how
companies can use it to advertise.
The first challenge YouTube has faced is users blocking advertisements from appearing on it.
AdBlock, an extension for many popular web browsers, scans webpages for ads as they are loading.
Before the browser renders the page, AdBlock prevents the advertisement from being rendered. This
undermines the purpose of putting ad slots on monetized videos and YouTube's front page. As a
result of this, some advertisers are choosing to take their business elsewhere.
To combat this problem, Google developed a way for YouTube to detect AdBlock and present ads in
a way AdBlock couldn't detect. This rendered AdBlock ineffective on monetized videos and the
site's home page. To further combat the problem, Google disabled the "Skip Ad" button for users
who are running AdBlock. Realistically speaking, the developers of AdBlock will probably find a
way around Google's preventative measures, which will force Google and AdBlock into a game of
cat–and–mouse (Cervantes 1). To completely fix this issue, Google needs to address why users feel
the need to block ads. By doing so, Google can encourage advertisers to create better ads that users
don't find intrusive or annoying.
Another problem that YouTube has faced is how it should moderate and police the content that is
uploaded. Anybody can

Youtube 's Broken Future : Youtube
YouTube's Broken Future
Is YouTube that amazing? Of course one can find a plentiful amount of content ranging from,
gaming, tutorials, reactions, news, commentaries, and etc. YouTube is increasing in popularity, and
getting bigger by the second. This video sharing platform can supply individuals with many more
programs than any television program can offer. YouTube has become bigger than television
according to Time magazine. Time magazine states that " And these days, with teens thinking
YouTube stars are bigger celebrities than the cast of the Big Bang Theory, it's only a matter of time
before public access takes over all the airwaves." The largest television show has been compared
with the largest YouTube channel, and the conclusion might surprise you. The extremely popular TV
show, True Blood, has 13.6 million in total viewers watching the program. But, the most popular
Swedish gaming channel, Pewdiepie, has a whopping 48.5 viewers on average. Pewdiepie triples the
viewers a popular world wide television show has. Video sharing has indeed become a gigantic
phenomenon. Although YouTube may be an enormously popular, not many people know the true
corruption of YouTube.
Yes, content creators such as Pewdiepie go through some kind of stress and abuse. Many of them
even get cyber bullied by the very community that watches them. Many of users of the YouTube
community will purposely target bigger YouTubers (or content creators) and discriminate and shout
other profanity.

The Effects Of Youtube On The Content Creators And Their...
The website YouTube, consisting of the term "You" in it's name, was originally developed to foster
individual creativity and visual expression through "grass roots" and "community–run" content
(Cloud 2006). Accordingly, prior to the mass–commercialization of YouTube, beauty and fashion
uploaders, otherwise known as "gurus", used the site to share their passion for makeup and upload
content of personal interest. As guru tutorials gained a significant following, accounting for over 700
million views monthly, brands realized the site's economic potential and began using YouTube as a
new form of marketing (Kito 2014). Thus, it will be argued that the convergence of YouTube and
commerce has complicated the website's original desire for authenticity, as content is now created
with the prospect of monetary gain. Using YouTube beauty gurus, this essay will demonstrate how
the ability to make money off of videos has negative effects on both content creators and their
audiences.
Despite YouTube's origin as a site promoting personal expression, monetization has created a barrier
for amateur and everyday users. Moreover, "what started...as ordinary girls sharing their favorite
products from their bedrooms" has now become a site with, "a production standard more
reminiscent of a TV show" (White 2016). The transformation to high quality, edited, and scripted
videos has occurred due to the immense competition and ability to turn YouTube from a hobby into
a career (White 2016) Thus, to

A Brief Look at Youtube
YOUTUBE:
YouTube is one of the most valuable form of teaching software in the classroom, it has full video
data collection in any form of educational content and useful observable knowledge. All kind of
videos such as animal, people activities, cooking, music, cartoon, movies and more. Many content in
YouTube made kids and students distract from the medium of learning. Fortunately Google
identified this problem and established a proper solution called YouTube for Education.
YouTube for schools, colleges and universities is a chain set to the school administrators that can
move to any grant access only for the educational authority management. This means that the videos
are uploaded by partners like Smithsonian, TED, Steve Spangler Science and Numberphile for about
more than 600 videos. Google has been worked together with the collaboration of teachers to
combine altogether for about over 300 playlists which categories the subject and also by the grade
level. It's been great idea for teachers to learn their students in a different point of view that enables
more understanding power. In the early stage learning mode has been formed and managed by
teaching in the classroom atmosphere, Youtube education is a new brightness for the students which
enhances the will power of learning.

Roasting Youtube 's Hidden Tactics
Nigahiga or Ryan Higa, is popular comedic Youtuber who has been part of the Youtube community
for many years. Recently, he posted a video encouraging others to sit in front of a camera and to
"make fun" of themselves and to post it online, naming it the Roast Yourself Challenge. Ryan
claimed that it is easy to look at someone and judge them for their flaws, however, it is much harder
to judge yourself. This has become a very popular challenge on Youtube with celebrities to everyday
people taking part of the challenge. There are many ways Ryan was able to convince such an
immense amount of viewers, and almost all these way fall under ethos, pathos or logos.
Ethos, pathos and logos are around us everywhere and used by almost everyone, even by ordinary
youtubers. Ethos are the use of techniques to create credibility and trustworthiness to the audience.
These techniques can simple such as showing you are a kind and good person, building trust; or
more complex such as providing proof to why you are experienced in the topic you are discussing,
making you creditable. Pathos is the emotional appeal present in your argument or topic and the
connections you make to your audience. You can have strong pathos by choosing strong words with
big emotional pulls, using analogies and metaphors, and humor. The last major part of strong
arguments that youtubers commonly use are logos. Logos are ways of convincing an audience or

Video Youtube On Youtube And Youtube
Recently, I visited YouTube in an attempt to watch a show that I enjoyed from my childhood. I was
delighted to find that an entire episode of the show had been posted on YouTube, so I added the
video to my queue and planned to watch it at a later time. The next day, I went to go watch the
video. To my surprise, the video displayed a red box with a message that stated that the video was
unavailable. In 2009 you could easily find copyrighted works on the Internet. It was simple to log in
to YouTube and search a movie or television show and watch it in its entirety, the only annoyance
being that it was usually split up into five parts. If you were to try to do that today, you would
quickly realize that you could not find a free version of the show or movie anywhere on YouTube. In
fact, it's quite difficult to find a free version of a large number of copyrighted material online. This is
because websites such as YouTube have updated their copyright infringement policies. But lately it
is the case that it is quite difficult to even find a legal version of copyrighted material. A lot of critics
feel as if online content is being fenced off due to the extreme copyright laws. However, the owners
of the proprietary information feel as if the laws were not in place, they would lose the rights to the
property. To create an ethical balance between those who hold legal rights to proprietary information
and ordinary users who wish to access, share, and communicate that information, it is

Youtube Tries To Think Of The Children Analysis
This article, "YouTube Tries to Think of the Children," by Mark Bergen and Lucas Shaw, is an
informative article about YouTube's latest controversial decisions. The author's purpose was to
inform the readers that YouTube is working harder than ever to keep advertisers on their platform,
even though it may cause a decrease in its creators.
What Is YouTube and Who Are Their Creators?
YouTube is a social media platform, owned by Google, where people all around the world can watch
seemingly endless amounts of videos on their phone, tablet or computer. The social media platform's
creators are those who wish to create unique videos and upload them for the world to see.
YouTube vs. Advertisers
Recently there have been a few creators that have given YouTube a bad name. For example, over the
past few months, multiple terrorist groups have been posting recruitment videos. More commonly
known incidents were when popular YouTuber stars posted inappropriate videos. Logan Paul filmed
the corpse of a recent suicide in the suicide forest in Japan, and PewDiePie who made anti–Semitic
jokes on videos. Due to these notorious incidents, companies were pulling their ads from YouTube
at a very fast rate, which caused YouTube to make some important decisions.

Their solution is to create a separate safe area within the platform that is sanitized for companies and
clean enough for kids and families to enjoy videos. The rest of YouTube will be a free–for–all and
would have far fewer ads which create money. This way advertisers would have much less to worry
about since their ads will not be played prior to an inappropriate video. YouTube said that they will
be hiring 10,000 employees to help flag inappropriate videos and ensured that the majority of the
ads will only be played on family friendly

YouTube
YouTube is a global entity that serves as an essential pillar for the the World Wide Web. First
established in February 2005, YouTube became one of the first easily accessible forms of
communication and news. By the year 2010, billions of people were well acquainted with the site
and were able to share their opinions with a seemingly unknown audience. Since its inception,
YouTube has maintained its basic website layout in hopes of retaining its core audience. When you

Though these videos were quickly taken down by the YouTube administration, the effect of posting
such a video on a large platform helped information about the revolution spread like wildfire.
On November 2006, Google acquired the rights to YouTube and engulfed it into it's vast empire.
Once this acquisition took place the basic format of the website remained the same, but the coding
of the whole website changed. When looking at the websites code, no control is left to YouTube, all
links point back to Google and any complaints with customer service is directed towards Google.
With the change in overhead direction, YouTube moved slightly away from its communal
interactivity and instead moved towards a more network position. Easy access to the latest music,
movies, and live streams were removed and replaced with paid advertisement. YouTube still does
provide a platform for anybody to become somebody and rocket themselves into a household name.
With the acquisition of YouTube, Google has also started funding YouTubers, frequent users of the
website who produce and appear in videos on the site with a large fan base. With the plausibility of
making a career off of YouTube, the website has maintained its popularity and expanded its
demographic. YouTube has now become the internet's New York, a site where most people believe if
they can make it there they can make it anywhere.

Step 2– Buying a Webcam
What is a webcam? It's a nifty little device that lets you record yourself . You can use a webcam to
communicate with other people online in real time as if you're talking to someone face to face.
Whoever you're speaking to, will see what you look like.
But webcams can also record videos which you can then store onto your computer. Furthermore,
webcams are great for a better video, because you can put your webcam right on top of your
computer monitor, and record your video while you sit down comfortably. This will allow you to
present a less shaky and more stable video. Of course, once again, you can take videos with a
smartphone or a video camcorder, and for some types of videos, it could be useful, such as recording
a video of a child's birthday party. But again, unless you have a very sturdy camcorder, your video
may be shaky and it may move all over the place if you record it from a smartphone or an
ineffective camcorder. And again, you may have issues with background noise if you're in a noisy
environment.
At least with a webcam, You won't need to worry about a shaky camera, and your message should

Most Youtubers have a schedule on when they post videos, like they try to post on tuesday and
friday every week. Everyone has their own schedule, I mean some post every weekday while others
post about once a month. So having a concrete agenda for your subscribers to follow is a great plan.
Staying true to that schedule and planning it all out is a great control mechanism to use as a
YouTuber. This could entail setting reminders every once in awhile to make sure you don't forget to
record that weeks video. Or you could take a day to plan out video ideas for the whole month and
when you will post them. This mechanism is important to being a successful YouTuber because
having those daily videos all planned out will assure you of a daily paycheck. It will also show your
subscribers that you are dedicated to the channel and their needs. Plus it might lead you to a good
reputation because you will seem as a very organized individual in having a timely schedule.
There are websites on the internet that can help you observe everything about your subscriber count
and demographics. Keeping up to date on those sort of things will really give you that understanding
of your fans that you need in order to flourish. Your able to look at how many subscribers you have

Will the motion picture industry have a similar fate?
Increased levels of high–speed Internet access, powerful PCs with DVD readers and writers,

Viacom claimed in a 2008 lawsuit that over 150,000 unauthorized clips of its copyrighted television

When Google purchased YouTube in 2006 for $1.65 billion, the site gained considerable clout in the
media world. With YouTube reporting 100 million video views per day and becoming one of the
most visited sites on the entire Web, the major production studios were not going to stand idly by

NBC Universal, for example, assigned three employees to search YouTube every day for property

Of course, in the end, the chase probably is not worthwhile. Rather than pursue an unachievable
goal, some of the major studios, including NBC Universal, Time Warners Warner Brothers
Entertainment, and News Corporations Twentieth Century Fox, sought more constructive solutions.
They entered into negotiations with YouTube to establish licensing agreements that would make
copyrighted content available legally. The licensing model was already in place between YouTube
and several major music companies. Furthermore, YouTube had already engineered successful
arrangements with major studios to market movies on the site.

Brian Mustanski and Richard Liu's study elucidated predictors of suicide attempts of LGBT youth
(2013). Their study revealed two important findings; first, the strongest predictor of attempted
suicide was the feeling of hopelessness caused by a lack of social support for the LGBT community,
and the stigmatization of gender non–conformity and same–sex attractions (442–5). Second, their
study revealed that LGBT youth are twenty–eight percent more likely than heterosexual youth to
suffer from mental health disorders such as major depression, conduct disorder, and generalized
anxiety disorder–all of which have a strong positive correlation with suicide attempts (447–9).
Sociologists Brent Teasdale and Mindy Bradley–Engen conducted a study in 2010 on the role of
social support on mental health disorders for adolescent same sex–attractions. Their findings
validate the social stress model–a sociological model that argues that mental health disorders are the
result of the interplay of stress, lack of social support, and personal efficacy– and reveals that the
relationship between same–sex attractions and mental health disorders are the result of elevated
stress levels and reduced social support caused by parental or peer rejection (Teasdale and Bradley–

My Narrative Story Of A Youtube Channel

  • 1. My Narrative Story Of A Youtube Channel NARRATIVE STORY So I made my YouTube channel about 1 year ago, I wanted to do it, but then it was also a dare to do it. At first I thought it was lame, but then I started making more and more videos and got people to actually subscribe to me. Soon I had a few subscribers and I finally noticed all the comments and likes and subscribers I got. I made a video about that and that video about that and that actually got a few more views and likes then I expected, I got a few more subscribers here and there and so my friends who dared me to do it also started noticing. They started talking about since I have a channel going what videos am I gonna start making and they came up with a few good ideas, my channel actually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once they saw I was in pain they took me inside and I told them I felt a pain and I heard a crack, They thought I just cracked a stick and the pain was from the fall, they thought if they would give me an ice–pack it would help, they soon realized that didn't help either. I went to the hospital and they took x–rays and stuff, they came back with a sling and some pictures, I looked at the pictures and I immediately knew I had a broken collarbone, I put on the sling and went home. The pain I was in is like you had 1000 pound weights on your arm, because I couldn't move my arm a bit. I don't know much about my first word but I actually think that it might be chocolate. I enjoyed chocolate when I was little, which is also why I think that my first word was chocolate because I loved it so much. If I had a choice to I would actually go back in time and change what my first word was and I would change it to wow. I sometimes wanna do that but then I also don't because I'd be surprised if I actually said chocolate. I sometimes think that the reason I said chocolate is because my brain was still in developing process even though It wasn't very developed like it is right now, when I think I actually might have said chocolate I actually believe that might have been my first word, my mom doesn't even remember my first word because It has been maybe around 13 ... • 5. Essay On Youtube If someone had told me five years ago that I would be a YouTube junkie and Facebook addict, I would have told them they were insane! I mean, YouTube used to be mostly used only by people posting embarrassing family videos, as well as by wannabe singers and musicians, posting their latest accomplishments in the far–fetched hope of being discovered. There was absolutely nothing about it that interested me. Similarly, while originally created as a study tool for college students, Facebook has morphed into the largest and most influential social media tool in the world; but at 12 years old, I did not want to be "friends" with adults – especially my parents! Shortly thereafter, I was required to create a Facebook account for marching band and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As time passed, the academic demands and expectations of my curriculum intensified, and, so, too, did my anxiety, . I am not ashamed to admit using YouTube for entirely mindless entertainment, specifically for watching a popular video game blogger named Markiplier. In addition to video game blogging, Markiplier creates "Try Not To Laugh" videos, which are compilations of funny videos intended to make the viewer laugh – while Markiplier tries not to laugh. It is understandable that some, may find this to be a huge waste of time, but the videos have consistently made me laugh, which has been especially useful in relieving stress and tension brought on by my anxiety. The multiple clubs and organizations to which I belong have been a blessing and a curse, because while they have provided untold opportunities for extracurricular growth, they have also been responsible for the elimination of all free time.. I originally began using Facebook as a communication and organizational tool for my extracurricular groups – especially marching band and orchestra. It is an easy and efficient way for staff members and student leaders to post information and updates to members of the group. Facebook also allows me to easily communicate with friends and family, especially those in distant states (such as California) or in other countries (such as our student exchange "sister" in Seville, Spain, and my sister's boyfriend and ... Should Youtube Comments Be Regulated: Video Analysis Should Youtube Comments Be Regulated Have you ever found a Youtube video that you liked and said something like "I never laughed so hard" or "this is very interesting" and got cursed at or hated against? Would you agree that Youtube comments should be regulated? It creates jobs, it takes pressure off of people and big time Youtubers. It wouldn't be a bad thing because it makes Youtube more kid friendly. There's a lot of people who watch Youtube. People are always more negative than positive. xx–swaggmaster–xx" marshmello sucks let's be honest" . "Clorox" "this video is fake and trash". • 13. The Popularity Of The Youtube Many can agree that since its creation in 2005 YouTube has grown into something that very few had foreseen. In its infancy, the general public viewed the site as home to just videos of cats doing sill things or people falling over. However, in recent years, many original YouTubers have gained large amounts of success from posting their videos online. While some may still view the site as a place for amateurs to post meaningless videos, Hank and John Green saw something else entirely in the site. With the creation of VidCon, Project for Awesome, and their original content, John and Hank Green have used YouTube to create a passionate and influential fan base while also influencing people around the world through education, community and charity. At the beginning of 2007 John Green and his brother Hank began posting video blogs to the channel "Vlogbrothers" on YouTube in order to communicate with one another. They called this project "Brotherhood 2.0" and the two still post videos on the channel currently. By the end of the year, the videos started garnering more and more attention as the project slowly shifted from a communication technique to a new, unique form of entertainment. Meanwhile, John was working on his soon–to–be explosive writing career and Hank was making his music talents well known within the community (Kaufman, 2013, para. 18– 21). While they may not have been the first "YouTube stars," the Green's were definitely one of the first channels on the site to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. My Experience Of Youtube Videos I started off watching YouTube videos of different varieties. I first started with a longer video. I thought that I would try to watch a comedy video to see if I could still catch the jokes that would maybe need a voice inflection with it. It was a lot harder to laugh at the jokes because I couldn't hear the tone of voice that they were using. I found that with all the comedy things I normally would watch, I didn't laugh as much because I couldn't hear the tone of voice. The next video was a beauty hack video. I don't normally watch these types of videos because they are mostly makeup beauty hacks, and I don't wear makeup. But I wanted to see what it would be like if someone who was Deaf wanted to learn beauty hacks. It was pretty hard to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hulu's captions were pretty good though. I liked how Hulu used periods and dashes for each new person talking. I found that YouTube did not use periods, so it felt sometimes like a long run on sentence. If there were multiple people talking on the YouTube videos it was hard to tell who was talking in the captions. There would be no indicator of who was saying what. The last T.V. show I decided to watch was something completely new. I decided to watch The Golden Girls. I had never seen an episode before so I didn't know what the style of the T.V. show would be like, and I didn't know the characters so I couldn't imagine their voice saying the words like I kind of could with the other videos/T.V. shows. I noticed that when the show was about half way over I couldn't wait for it to be over. I got really annoyed with having to constantly having to read everything or I'd be lost as to what was happening. With this show I had to read pretty fast because there were so many characters and they would have line after line. It was a constant looking at the captions and not at the picture. When I normally watch T.V. I don't use captions. I find them annoying if the captions are on and the sound is also on. My eye will go down to the captions and not what is happening. When it was only the captions it was better because the sound was off. But I still got really annoyed having to read everything if I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Youtube Analysis On Youtube Content Essay YouTube is the one stop shop for a user's video needs. Content ranges from funny home videos to vlogs to political commentary, with nothing left out in between. To keep access to the site free for viewers and creators, YouTube adopted a unique business model to maintain viewership and provide an incentive for creators to post content on the site. This model, though successful, brings an array of problems when deciding what content a creator can profit from. The method YouTube used to determine which videos could profit from advertising is unethical as it inhibits content creators' ability to create entertaining videos to the site. YouTube's business model is unique in that the site itself does not create any content. Instead the website provides a location for content creators to post content and for ccontent onsumers to view content. Accounts on the website are free so any user can sign up, upload content and interact in the YouTube community. This brings in the question: How is YouTube making enough money to operate? The main answer is by monetizing the content on their site. According to Merriam–Webster.com, monetize means to "utilize something of value to make a profit". YouTube used their loyal audiences to sell advertising space to other companies, allowing advertisements to be played before content. The profits do not just go into the hands of YouTube. Creators get a small cut of the advertising profits through AdSense. AdSense a program run by YouTube's parent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. The Challenges Of Youtube Starting a YouTube channel 10 years ago presented different challenges compared to starting one in 2017. Back in YouTube's early years, it was a simple case of acquiring the necessary gadgets to help record video and audio. Nowadays, there are hundreds of videos and articles telling you what to do, and how you should do it. And it can prove a real headache. This article will offer some simple tips to get you off the ground and to continue to grow your channel in its early stages. Pick a Niche Firstly, and arguably the most important in 2017, you need to pick a niche. A niche is any product or service that will apply to a small group of people. If you don't want friends or family to know about your channel, make new profiles and create new connections! Record in HD This goes without saying, really. If you don't record in at least 720p, it may only take a few seconds before a viewer immediately turns off, and never watches a video again. Every well known channel and most semi– serious channels will record in 1080p, but if you can only manage 720p for the time being, that's fine. Moreover, good quality sound recording is critical, as the only thing worse than bad video quality if bad sound quality. This doesn't mean that you need to invest a lot of money in the latest Yeti microphone. If you're recording games, then you'll need nothing more than an Xbox or PS4 headset, if you're Vlogging there are plenty of cheap microphones that you can order from Amazon. Marketing your Channel After you've chosen a niche, created a brand and record your first few videos, it's time to market! This is where a lot of channels fail, you may have a great personality and make fantastic videos, but it will come to nothing if no–one knows you exist. Assuming that you've created a good brand, it shouldn't be too hard. Furthermore, if you've chosen a good niche, marketing will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Youtube There is nothing more exciting then unlocking my home screen as I'm walking back to my dorm building after a long day of quizzes, lectures, and caffeine breaks to find a notification on my phone telling my favorite YouTuber has just uploaded a new video up on their vlog channel. I don't why I have such a deep obsession with the world of YouTube. Maybe it's because I have a peculiar fascination with watching people who live lives of grandiose fashion. Maybe it's because conspiracy theories of Avril Lavigne having a doppelganger haunts me to the core. Maybe it's because there's content for everyone and everyone is welcomed into a community of people just like themselves. Whatever the reason, YouTube has been a media platform that I have ... Their full–time job is to create constant video content in hopes that viewers will subscribe to their channel and want to see more. I would watch content after content for hours on end. The first YouTuber I had ever subscribed to was, Shane Dawson. He creates hilarious sketch– comedy videos with darker undertones and important messages. Shane introduced me to topics like mental illness, abuse, identity, and self–esteem. His videos allowed to become more aware of issues people faced in their daily lives. He always taught me how to be an unapologetic version of myself. Which led to me coming to terms with my own sexuality and learning how to deal with it. Not only did YouTube give me a broader perspective on the different people and cultures living in the world around me, it also drove me to want to pursue a career in the media field. I saw how quickly stories developed and spread throughout the YouTube community. It was like having a newspaper that talked to you. Anyone with a computer, camera, and video editing software had an outlet to show their creative works for fun or presentation, with little restriction besides time and data limits, or certain language and content, to keep the creative environment friendly and legal. The addition of advertisement came along with channels becoming more and more popular, acquiring large followings, yet did not present any more restrictions to the video sharing site. The rise of the internet has given way to more opportunities especially in the entertainment category which resulted in more people turning to the internet and away from TV and movies. First established in February 2005, YouTube became one of the first easily accessible forms of communication and news, informing the masses about current events with rapidly updating videos. In present day society, YouTube has become a socializing agent that directly impacts the cultural and social practices of people all over the world. YouTube is able to beat its competitors by adapting to the changing times and fitting the evolving interests of it's core demographic, thus rapidly spreading and creating new ideas and trends, continuously shifting social norms within various communities. Younger generations are often the driving force behind progression or cultural evolution and through the use of websites like YouTube, they are able to collaborate on ideas and share new innovations or trends. The younger demographics generally prefer YouTube's website format over it's competitors, because of its easiness of navigation and it's graphically appealing design. When you first look up the website, a bold red box with a play button inside of it, pops up. Selecting this logo leads to the development of an intriguing website with a crisp white background that highlights the black word You and the white word Tube, singularly enclosed in a red box. In her 2009 article, "Social Networking and Cloud Computing: Precarious Affordances for the 'Prosumer'," Jamie Skye Bianco argues that while YouTube's Terms of Service addresses the users' breach of copyright, it does not address the users' intellectual rights; in fact, she states, "while users may own their videos, an interminable set of licensing agreements allow YouTube to continue to retain the content as it sees fit" (Bianco 307). In fact, a better solution, which many YouTube content creators – who have received demonetization and low revenue from YouTube's advertising model on their monetized videos – champion, is the use of the crowdfunding subscriber–based website Patreon. Patreon (which began in 2013) is a flexible service that allows creators to earn a money from any content they create – whether on YouTube videos, songs, covers, or otherwise – with the support of patrons (supporters of the creator's content or YouTube subscribers), who pay for content monthly or whenever creators post content (Patreon). Not only does Patreon allow patrons (viewers) to determine the value of the content creator they support, it also allows creators to generate income without using YouTube's advertising system at all (Patreon). While there are concerns that Patreon may exploit its users' donations and earnings, founder Jack Conte, in a 2014 Time Magazine article, "How YouTube Stars Can Actually Make a Living," promised to "remain focused on creators' interests" and charge "5% commission on all donations" without increasing this share (Luckerson). Ultimately, with Patreon's increasing competitiveness, YouTube may notice: fewer creators monetizing their videos; and, as a result, less advertising revenue; and, finally, more users flocking to Patreon other services to view, listen or read and offer compensation directly their preferred creator's ... Over the years Youtube, the online video sharing website, has grown in popularity serving viewers all over the world with a large variety of content, from user generated videos to more premium content offered on an array of channels. Currently Youtube generates its revenue from advertising, in the form of ads on the websites homepage, in–video ads as well as sponsored videos and links (Elberse & Gupta, 2010). Pricing is likely to be a sensitive issue when viewers who are used to getting video for free, now have to start paying to access certain content. Similar to the world of cable television, all channels are different when it comes to content and viewership, therefore each channel will look to price itself differently with respect to its competitors. Youtube should perhaps consider an a–la–carte pricing model in order to avoid bundling channels, which people may not watch and therefore will not want to pay for. An alternative strategy would be to start with a small bundle with two well– known channels with a similar audience together with a lesser known channel that has potential for growth, in order to help build its viewership. Based on the success of these bundles, they could then consider slowly adding in more channels. Channel bundling has become a topic of controversy in the cable television, as prices continue to skyrocket with more and more channels being added, hence Youtube should learn from this and formulate a payment plan that will satisfy the majority of its customers and help to limit the number of viewers it may lose due to this new payment structure. While there are other alternative ways for Youtube to monetize, by charging users for uploading videos or continuing to solely rely on advertisers, a subscription based business model is more likely to earn higher revenues for ... By my term paper I would like to explore and reason the changes that took place in YouTube and the working of the billion dollar website. I would like to question the money making mechanism of YouTube, how it is done and how does it benefit all the people involved, such as the Uploaders, Viewers and Ultimately YouTube itself. Further I'll display the rapid nature of growth of YouTube in recent years and talk about it's acquisition by Google. The reason I chose this topic as the topic for my term paper was because YouTube and revenue generation by different people on YouTube interested me very much and I was keen on researching the topic. Apart from this we'll also see the interview of a YouTube celebrity to know more about 'how money is made' , 'on what basis they make money' and 'how much of it actually stays with the uploader'. After the purchase, people around the world were skeptical that YouTube would be a sustainable business practice for Google. In order to utilize YouTube to make money, Google launched the Partner program, which incentivized original content creators to share and promote their content on the site. Creators who wanted to be involved became a YouTube Partner, and advertisers bid for ad slots on the most viewed videos and channels. Partners then receive half or more of this revenue from YouTube as compensation for their work. However, YouTube is not infallible. Since its inception, it has faced various issues that impact how companies can use it to advertise. The first challenge YouTube has faced is users blocking advertisements from appearing on it. AdBlock, an extension for many popular web browsers, scans webpages for ads as they are loading. Before the browser renders the page, AdBlock prevents the advertisement from being rendered. This undermines the purpose of putting ad slots on monetized videos and YouTube's front page. As a result of this, some advertisers are choosing to take their business elsewhere. To combat this problem, Google developed a way for YouTube to detect AdBlock and present ads in a way AdBlock couldn't detect. This rendered AdBlock ineffective on monetized videos and the site's home page. To further combat the problem, Google disabled the "Skip Ad" button for users who are running AdBlock. Realistically speaking, the developers of AdBlock will probably find a way around Google's preventative measures, which will force Google and AdBlock into a game of cat–and–mouse (Cervantes 1). To completely fix this issue, Google needs to address why users feel the need to block ads. By doing so, Google can encourage advertisers to create better ads that users don't find intrusive or annoying. Another problem that YouTube has faced is how it should moderate and police the content that is uploaded. Anybody can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The website YouTube, consisting of the term "You" in it's name, was originally developed to foster individual creativity and visual expression through "grass roots" and "community–run" content (Cloud 2006). Accordingly, prior to the mass–commercialization of YouTube, beauty and fashion uploaders, otherwise known as "gurus", used the site to share their passion for makeup and upload content of personal interest. As guru tutorials gained a significant following, accounting for over 700 million views monthly, brands realized the site's economic potential and began using YouTube as a new form of marketing (Kito 2014). Thus, it will be argued that the convergence of YouTube and commerce has complicated the website's original desire for authenticity, as content is now created with the prospect of monetary gain. Using YouTube beauty gurus, this essay will demonstrate how the ability to make money off of videos has negative effects on both content creators and their audiences. Despite YouTube's origin as a site promoting personal expression, monetization has created a barrier for amateur and everyday users. Moreover, "what started...as ordinary girls sharing their favorite products from their bedrooms" has now become a site with, "a production standard more reminiscent of a TV show" (White 2016). These techniques can simple such as showing you are a kind and good person, building trust; or more complex such as providing proof to why you are experienced in the topic you are discussing, making you creditable. Pathos is the emotional appeal present in your argument or topic and the connections you make to your audience. You can have strong pathos by choosing strong words with big emotional pulls, using analogies and metaphors, and humor. The last major part of strong arguments that youtubers commonly use are logos. • 109. Video Youtube On Youtube And Youtube Recently, I visited YouTube in an attempt to watch a show that I enjoyed from my childhood. I was delighted to find that an entire episode of the show had been posted on YouTube, so I added the video to my queue and planned to watch it at a later time. The next day, I went to go watch the video. To my surprise, the video displayed a red box with a message that stated that the video was unavailable. In 2009 you could easily find copyrighted works on the Internet. It was simple to log in to YouTube and search a movie or television show and watch it in its entirety, the only annoyance being that it was usually split up into five parts. If you were to try to do that today, you would quickly realize that you could not find a free version of the show or movie anywhere on YouTube. In fact, it's quite difficult to find a free version of a large number of copyrighted material online. This is because websites such as YouTube have updated their copyright infringement policies. But lately it is the case that it is quite difficult to even find a legal version of copyrighted material. A lot of critics feel as if online content is being fenced off due to the extreme copyright laws. However, the owners of the proprietary information feel as if the laws were not in place, they would lose the rights to the property. To create an ethical balance between those who hold legal rights to proprietary information and ordinary users who wish to access, share, and communicate that information, it is ... Youtube Tries To Think Of The Children Analysis This article, "YouTube Tries to Think of the Children," by Mark Bergen and Lucas Shaw, is an informative article about YouTube's latest controversial decisions. The author's purpose was to inform the readers that YouTube is working harder than ever to keep advertisers on their platform, even though it may cause a decrease in its creators. What Is YouTube and Who Are Their Creators? YouTube is a social media platform, owned by Google, where people all around the world can watch seemingly endless amounts of videos on their phone, tablet or computer. The social media platform's creators are those who wish to create unique videos and upload them for the world to see. YouTube vs. Advertisers Recently there have been a few creators that have given YouTube a bad name. For example, over the past few months, multiple terrorist groups have been posting recruitment videos. More commonly known incidents were when popular YouTuber stars posted inappropriate videos. Logan Paul filmed the corpse of a recent suicide in the suicide forest in Japan, and PewDiePie who made anti–Semitic jokes on videos. Due to these notorious incidents, companies were pulling their ads from YouTube at a very fast rate, which caused YouTube to make some important decisions. YouTube's Plan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their solution is to create a separate safe area within the platform that is sanitized for companies and clean enough for kids and families to enjoy videos. The rest of YouTube will be a free–for–all and would have far fewer ads which create money. This way advertisers would have much less to worry about since their ads will not be played prior to an inappropriate video. YouTube said that they will be hiring 10,000 employees to help flag inappropriate videos and ensured that the majority of the ads will only be played on family friendly ... Youtube : An Essential Pillar For The World Wide Web Imade Ojo Professor Kennedy English 075, Section 02 17 November 2015 YouTube YouTube is a global entity that serves as an essential pillar for the the World Wide Web. First established in February 2005, YouTube became one of the first easily accessible forms of communication and news. By the year 2010, billions of people were well acquainted with the site and were able to share their opinions with a seemingly unknown audience. Since its inception, YouTube has maintained its basic website layout in hopes of retaining its core audience. When you first look up the website a bold red box with a play button inside of it, pops up. Though these videos were quickly taken down by the YouTube administration, the effect of posting such a video on a large platform helped information about the revolution spread like wildfire. On November 2006, Google acquired the rights to YouTube and engulfed it into it's vast empire. Once this acquisition took place the basic format of the website remained the same, but the coding of the whole website changed. When looking at the websites code, no control is left to YouTube, all links point back to Google and any complaints with customer service is directed towards Google. With the change in overhead direction, YouTube moved slightly away from its communal interactivity and instead moved towards a more network position. Easy access to the latest music, movies, and live streams were removed and replaced with paid advertisement. YouTube still does provide a platform for anybody to become somebody and rocket themselves into a household name. With the acquisition of YouTube, Google has also started funding YouTubers, frequent users of the website who produce and appear in videos on the site with a large fan base. With the plausibility of making a career off of YouTube, the website has maintained its popularity and expanded its demographic. YouTube has now become the internet's New York, a site where most people believe if they can make it there they can make it anywhere. The most central component behind YouTube's popularity ... Sales of CDs in retail music stores have been declining while sales of songs downloaded through the Internet to iPods and other portable music players are skyrocketing. Viacom claimed in a 2008 lawsuit that over 150,000 unauthorized clips of its copyrighted television programs had appeared on YouTube. The media conglomerate is seeking $1 billion in damages from YouTube. When Google purchased YouTube in 2006 for $1.65 billion, the site gained considerable clout in the media world. With YouTube reporting 100 million video views per day and becoming one of the most visited sites on the entire Web, the major production studios were not going to stand idly by while some–one else profited off of movies that cost them an average of over $106 million to make. NBC Universal, for example, assigned three employees to search YouTube every day for property that had been posted without permission. Of course, in the end, the chase probably is not worthwhile. Rather than pursue an unachievable goal, some of the major studios, including NBC Universal, Time Warners Warner Brothers Entertainment, and News Corporations Twentieth Century Fox, sought more constructive solutions. They entered into negotiations with YouTube to establish licensing agreements that would make copyrighted content available legally. The licensing model was already in place between YouTube and several major music companies. Furthermore, YouTube had already engineered successful arrangements with major studios to market movies on the site.

This paper hypothesizes that the discourse shaped on YouTube videos surrounding LGBT rights and issues–expressed typically, but not limited to "coming out" videos, sharing experiences of being a member of the LGBT community, sharing opinions on the political discourse surrounding legislation of LGBT issues, or videos of straight allies who show support for members of the LGBT community (from now on, these videos are described as LGBT friendly)–have made these issues visible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Brian Mustanski and Richard Liu's study elucidated predictors of suicide attempts of LGBT youth (2013). Their study revealed two important findings; first, the strongest predictor of attempted suicide was the feeling of hopelessness caused by a lack of social support for the LGBT community, and the stigmatization of gender non–conformity and same–sex attractions (442–5). Second, their study revealed that LGBT youth are twenty–eight percent more likely than heterosexual youth to suffer from mental health disorders such as major depression, conduct disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder–all of which have a strong positive correlation with suicide attempts (447–9). Sociologists Brent Teasdale and Mindy Bradley–Engen conducted a study in 2010 on the role of social support on mental health disorders for adolescent same sex–attractions. Their findings validate the social stress model–a sociological model that argues that mental health disorders are the result of the interplay of stress, lack of social support, and personal efficacy– and reveals that the relationship between same–sex attractions and mental health disorders are the result of elevated stress levels and reduced social support caused by parental or peer rejection (Teasdale and Bradley– Engen 2010, 287–94).
