The genre for our
film is a crime
thriller with
psychological
elements
3. KEY CHARACTERS
Two key characters
Brothers

death of his parents he has been acting as a father
towards joey. The death of his parents toughen him
up. He knows that Joey is the only family he has.

4. IDEA FOR TEASER TRAILER
Sequence
Scene 1: George gets notified by the police that his
parents have died.
Scene 2: George and joey arrive at the family home and
settle in.
Scene 3: George goes into joeys room to find him
missing he then looks out of the window to see him in
the garden with a mysterious figure in dark clothes. He
then runs downstairs to find that they are both gone. He
then receives a phone call from an unknown number
telling him to go to a specific address.
Scene 4: joey arrives at the address and walks into a
room, he finds a gun on the table and a note next to it
which reads "shoot the person behind the door to
receive a partial address of your brother's location"
After this the screen will go black and the question "how
far would you go to save a loved one" will appear on
screen. This will be the tagline for our film
The key characters in the
teaser trailer will be George
and joey. George will get
most of the screen time as
he is the main protagonist.
The kidnaper will also be
featured but only in a small
part of the trailer
The key events in our
teaser will be the
kidnapping of joey
and the scene were
George finds the gun
on the table
The trailer will be on a
montage on a whole but
the different scenes will
have aspects of continuity
editing in it
We will convey the
genre of our film
through many close up
shots and through the
style of soundtrack and
through the lighting
which will mostly be
lowkey.
5. PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN
• Blue/grey colour scheme
• Main character – George and maybe Joey?
• The Unique Selling Point(USP) that we will be focusing on is the
tasks that are set for George, we also emphasise this idea
through the marketing company by the use of notes in the
poster or the way the anonymous person signs.
• We could also emphasise George trying to find Joey, showing
the narrative theme.
• George suffers with anxiety and paranoia as a result of his
parents dying
6. PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN - TYPOGRAPHY IDEAS
We looked at different fonts
using DAFont.com and we came
to the idea that the font should
look like newspaper clippings as
the letters that the antagonist
uses for the tasks to keep them
anonymous. We also, played
around with the idea of using
different colours for the letters
within the colour scheme, but
keep the inside white to follow
the conventions of the genre.
7. POSTER IDEA
• Blue/grey/brown
• Main character (George) in the foreground
• Joey in background?
• Post-it note displaying the word
'Missing' or phone displaying those words
• Tagline 'how far would you go to save the ones you love'
• Title shown at the bottom
8. MAGAZINE IDEA
• We want to use a different image - like the Gone Girl cover –
however this of the main character (George) - like the
Scott Pilgrim vs. The world cover - as it shows the film in
a new light and could attract different audiences.
• Moreover, using the conventions of the thriller genre, the
same typography, and blue/grey colour to link it.
• Title in the middle as the cover name at the top.
9. TARGET AUDIENCE
Audience from the ages of 15-30.
The plot twist is more likely to appeal to a younger audience due
to the excitement and tension that develops through out the
movie.
Both genders would be interested in are movie due to the
different aspects that the movie contains. The action is more
likely to appeal to are male audience, the plot twist and the
physiological element could interest are female audience more.
Social media would be the main source of trying to reach out to
are target audience.
Editor's Notes
Blue/grey colour scheme – Convention of thrillers, creates an urban image
Main character – George is the oldest and is the one searching for his brother which is the main focus and links to USP
USP – the use of the tasks as this is not commonly seen in thrillers as opposed of being held ransom
Narrative – throughout the promotional campaign we can emphasise this narrative, of George trying to find joey, as this further shows the USP and gives the audience an idea of what to focus on.
Character representation – George suffers with anxiety and paranoia as a result of his parents dying, this shows the psychological (thriller) elements.
George foreground - He is the main character therefore he has most screen time so by having him as the main focus it gives the audience an introduction into what he looks like
Joey background - The brother that goes missing is in the background because he doesn’t have as much screen time, it also gives a sense that he is fading away which links with the missing aspect of our film
Post-it note/phone - The whole idea of the tasks being sent either by notes and newspaper cuttings or by text - to be discussed but this can be related through the poster
Tagline - The tasks will become more difficult and complex therefore testing George as to how far he would go to find and save his brother
Title - We have decided on having the title at the bottom of the poster as this is a common convention
