The Theory Of Religion And Spirituality
A Gallup poll indicated that religion is a "very important" part of the lives of approximately 67% of the American public, of whom 96% believe in
God and 42% attend religious services regularly (Powell, Shahabi, & Thoresen, 2003). People join religious institutions and follow spiritual paths for a
variety of reasons, such as faith, prayer, social support, cultural traditions, commitment to the community, and more. The role ofreligion in people's
lives is dramatic and research on the topic has mirrored this importance. Research on the relationship between religion, spirituality, and health has
significantly increased over the last 15 years in a variety of disciplines (Koenig, 2012). The mental health field has also piqued an interest in the topic
of religion and spirituality, and many studies have shown that religiosity and spirituality have a positive relationship with mental health (Koenig, 2012).
This purpose of this paper is to explore the mechanisms through which religion and spirituality produce well–being and happiness, and how to
incorporate those mechanisms into clinical practice.
Definitions of Religion and Spirituality A critically important aspect of studying religion and spirituality is establishing the appropriate definitions of
the terms. Researchers have often had trouble differentiating the two concepts and find there are significant overlap between them. Koenig (2012)
defines religion as an organized system of beliefs, practices, rituals, and symbols

Importance And Significance Of Forgiveness
The topic of this paper is the importance and significance of "forgiveness" in resolving conflict. To resolve a conflict, forgiveness is at some point is
a must. It may not come immediately but one has to be open to having the ability to both give and receive it in order for reconciliation to be
successful. One may ask how forgiving someone they are in conflict with is important to achieving a positive outcome such as reconciliation. This
paper is going to explore that question and show that yes, having the ability to forgive, is very significant in finding a resolution to the conflict. It will
research viewpoints on forgiveness and its much needed contribution to resolve a conflict. It will look into how the field of psychology views the
importance of forgiveness and that of a biblical worldview and even the effects it can have on your daily health. Not everyone looks at forgiveness
the same, most all want some kind of resolution or reconciliation when conflicts arise. In some people, forgiveness comes naturally but in others it
can be learned. Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you" (Holy Bible ESV). The
purpose of this paper is providing research to show the importance of forgiveness, both of oneself and to others, because without it, some conflicts
become never–ending. Forgiveness is a "way of healing human relationships and solving human conflicts" (Gopin, 2001, para. 1). Forgiveness comes in

Power, Authority, And Equality
Power, authority, and equality are all challenging and effortful goals that women continually fight for in many different societies. The progression of
those goals are continuously improving, but there is still a separation between the power, authority, and equality granted to men and women. There are
multiple different ways and methods used by feminist in their attempts to gain power, authority, and equality in all aspects of life. These aspects that
feminist strive to improve are made possible by an organization called Brigid's Place. Brigid's Place garners power, authority, and equality for women

These ministries that were provided by the Christ Church Cathedral and its governing body the Rotating Circle, consisted of a variety of topics that
included "women's voice, gender roles, women's spiritual history, theology and the scriptures, women and work, women and families, and issues
confronting women and men in our evolving society" (Brigid's Place Records).
Two programs that were influential in helping homeless women in their efforts toward empowerment and spiritual growth, which were created by
Brigid's Place, were the Home of the Sparrow and Brigid's Hope. Both the Home of the Sparrow and Brigid's home were transitional programs that
helped women in need. Transitional shelters are temporary homes that individuals are allowed to live in for a certain period of time, before they are
expected to have the power and knowledge to go out and live on their own. The Home of the sparrow which was established in 1986, helps homeless
women and their children off the street in an effort to negate their "feeling[s] of detachment from family, friends, church, and even [themselves]"
(Brigid's Place Records). Brigid's Hope, another transitional program which was established in 1999, provides assistance to paroled individuals, by
offering them access to a social worker who gives them an assessment analyzing their needs, helping them make a personalized transition plan, helping

Victorian Spiritualism Controversy
The Spiritualism was and still is a controversial topic the controversy comes in with what is what people believe in. Spiritualism was based on the
spirits that lived on after death but not everyone believed or believes in the spirits still existing after death. Spiritualists were mostly women who within
them had many feminists' beliefs in which they demonstrated that women should have the same rights as men. Alex Owen in The Darkened Room:
Women, Power, and Spiritualism in Late Victorian England, introduces how women power became a problem in Victorian society..."Despite the fact
that gender categories are always open to contestation, and that there were underlying tensions in the nineteenth century thinking about femininity, the

Society looked at Spiritualists as mentally ill and that created a problem between medical practices and spiritualists. In Science and the SГ©ance:
Transgressions of Gender and Genre in Late Victorian London by Judith R. Walkowitz she describes, "Spiritualists responded by elaborating an
iconography of male medical evil, portraying the doctor as a fraud and as a sexuality dangerous man, a divided personality whose science made
him cruel, blood thirsty, and hyper masculine because it suppressed his feminine, spiritual part" (Walkowitz 5). The images that were put out by
both sides created a real struggle with knowing what the truth. Did the women have and illness or was it just the control that the doctors and
science had on the society at the time? Doctors had creditability because they worked of facts. But in this case they were not working of full facts
they were mostly working on diagnoses of how women acted and used it as a way of justifying their view on spiritualism by using the medical field.
The view that psychiatrists at that time had on spiritualism was that is affected "weak minded hysterical women" but in reality these women were
very progressed for their time. Spiritualism was a way for women mostly of middle class to find a sanctuary and create their own culture. The
sГ©ance that happened was a way to express their feelings in other ways. The spiritual part was a lot more

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Is Beneficial For Specific...
The results from diverse institutions from the United States give a suggestion that spiritually integrated therapy is desirable and can be beneficial for
specific subsets of patients. Cognitive behavioral therapy refers to a behavioral therapy that was initially developed by Aaron T, Beck in the 1960s.
CBT is based on the argument that a person's belief system is the attributable cause (Corey, 1996). The internal dialogues of an individual play a central
role in that person's way of acting. Spirituality on the other hand, refers to the nature or religion, devotion or piety. It is an individual's belief system
that emanates from their own connecting with the transcendent. There is no defined definition of spirituality. Becker (2001)... Show more content on

There it is imperative that every kind of counselling should borrow issues of spirituality for purposes of effectiveness. The issue to be analyzed again
is whether cognitive therapy can also be used to address counselling issues that are of spiritual nature. The answer to this issue lies in different areas
such as client, the therapist, the nature of cognitive therapy and the spiritual nature of client–therapist relationship. CBT is effective in medication in
treating specific mental health problems .This plays a key role in managing problems, including depressions and anxiety and reduces a negative
impact to the client's life. However CBT poses a risk of bad feelings that are associated with personal problem which can return although they can be
controlled with CBT skills. Hence, it is encouraged that someone should continue even after full recovery. CBT has a number of advantages. Some of
them include being effective as a medication that can be used in treating various mental disorder and can play a key role where medication alone
cannot work. It can also be completed within a short while as compare to other methods such as spiritualism which can take a considerable time. CBT
is structured in different way. This means that different formats of CBT can be used which include groups, self– help books and various computer
programmers. Skills you learnt in CBT can be important, practical and helpful

Essay on An Analysis of Religion by an Athiest
The person as a whole, mind and body, is a very complex and unique organism that can be easily influenced by society. Since people are so easily
susceptible to be influenced by others, each person must rely on their beliefs in order to make a judgment that is morally and ethically pleasing
through their knowledge and experiences. A person's morals and ethics are formed through their religious beliefs and practices. Morals and ethics
allow one to make a knowledgeable and responsible decision. One's religious and spiritual beliefs shapes and molds the mind, body, and spirit of the

The concepts of "the sacred and the transcendent" are depicted in religious scriptures worldwide, and create the foundation to the beliefs and
practices of that religion. "The sacred and transcendent" is defined, as that of which is "otherworldly." It is the mystical world, the supernatural.
In Christian terms, "the sacred and transcendent" is the realm of the world outside of creation. Heaven and hell are two elements that are regarded
as being "the sacred and transcendent" in Christianity. They are the supernatural realms that existed before creation. These realms are where one's
soul and spirit eternally rest when they die. Heaven is one of the most sacred concepts in Christianity. According to God, our bodies are delicate
mortal seeds. Upon death, a person is laid to rest in the ground and at this moment the "seed" sprouts releasing the immortal soul. God, our one and
only creator judge the soul of the person, and only those souls that are without sin and are not immoral or tainted by evil are allowed to enter the
gates of heaven. Heaven is the realm for those people who followed the beliefs and practices of their respective religions according to their God.
Heaven is a realm where all of the imperfections that existed in the "real" world do not exist and every soul rests in harmony and serenity. Hell is the
"evil" realm of the world outside of creation. The souls of those people who do not follow the teachings of their God during their brief

The God Factor: Exploring the Roles VHA Chaplains Bear in Providing Human (Spiritual) Services
Within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), chaplains play many different roles. Chaplains are not only counselors who contend with the spiritual
and religious needs of veterans and their families, they also aid with the emotional, mental, physical, and relational needs of veterans. Recognizing the
aid and guidance chaplains give veterans is important in realizing the special utility they serve. In realizing the benefit to veterans and their families, the

For many, this will entail more effectively integrating chaplaincy with mental health care services, an objective that is consistent with the mission of
VA (Nieuwsma, & Rhodes 2013). Furthermore, it has been shown that chaplains can, if given the opportunity, play an integral role in the mitigating of
mental health issues, and in the caring of veterans seeking help and services for emotional, relational, and mental health–related problems (Nieuwsma,
& Rhodes p. 15 2013).
Suicide–a chaplains role. Nowhere are the services of chaplains needed more than in helping those veterans at–risk for suicide. The VA recognizes the
important role of chaplains as front–line, mental–health providers for active–duty personnel and veterans, including the chaplain's role in suicide
prevention (Ramchand, Acosta, Burns, Jaycox, & Pernin, 2011). Recently, attention has been paid to the prevailing suicide rate of veterans. In order to
combat these rates, the VA and public health professionals have dedicated considerable time and effort to designing and implementing suicide
prevention initiatives targeting Veteranpopulations (Kopacz 2013).
The role that chaplains can play in helping veterans deal with suicidal ideations are immeasurable. Veterans can have a host of problems in relation to
their military service that they don't have the tools to deal with; guilt, hopelessness, shame, despair, and grief to name but a few. A chaplains

CHAPTER 9 SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
Hope Haslam Straughan Within the social work profession, there is a growing movement affirming that spirituality and religious beliefs are integral
to the nature of the person and have a vital influence on human behavior (Hugen, 1998). Canda (1988) identifies spirituality as a basic aspect of
human experience, both within and outside the context of religious institutions. If a social worker is going to approach a person in a holistic manner,
he or she must be willing to consider each person as a wondrous compilation of bio–psycho–social–spiritual elements. In this way, workers will have an
extremely broad base from which to approach the strength and resiliency in the people with whom they interact. ... Show more content on

These ideas, often building upon the familiar concepts of the stage–based developmental patterns, will be presented in a later portion of this chapter.
Social workers commonly work within community–serving agencies, while seeking to help people who often have few choices about the conditions
under which essential human needs are met. In this role, we must ensure that every protection is given the client and that his or her helplessness is not
exploited (Spencer, 1961). "Certainly, in the light of the high value the social work profession has always placed upon the client's right to solve his [or
her] own problems in the way that seems right to him [or her], it is assumed that any considerations of the social worker's role in the area of religion
would be set in this context" (pp. 519–520). Definitions The roots of social work contain many religious and spiritually based components, lending

Fast forward, the Lord guided me through the U.S. Marine Corps, Desert Storm and four tours of U.S. Embassy duty, it was not easy as in those
days you had to fight daily as a Marine. It was just par for the course, so to speak, this I believed harden my spirit along with frequent drinking. I think
the drinking became a way of coping with the tragic death of my mother among other things. While in the Marine and living in Africa I had a vision of
a mountain and a gathering of people dressed in white. I later determine that the mountain and the people were in Ethiopia. The people all looked as
though they were in a trance and were walking to and from the mountain. When I would walk up and asked them what they were doing, they would
only say one word to me "Exodus" the Greek word meaning to depart just as the Israelites had departed Egypt. At the moment I did not truly understand
what God was saying, but I now I realize that God was telling me to turn away from my worldly ways. See as a Marine I became very aggressive
and would fight at the drop of a hat. I was a drinker and womanizer and the more of both I had, the better I thought I was doing. That said, the vision
I had was the embarkation line of my departure from the Egypt of my flesh and the beginning of my journey and transformation; not to say I am
perfect now because I am still a finite being, but I am not who I used to be.

What Makes A Religion?
As humans, we are all connected. While each living being holds a certain amount of unique qualities, at the core, we are the same. What makes us
so similar? Is it that rhythm in our chest? Is it out compassion and love for one another? Is it the desire to create art and feel inspiration? I believe
religion is the key to all of these. Even if one don't follow a religion, they can still admit that there is something spiritual about the likeness of each
living, individual soul. Like humans, religions are also vastly similar at their core. Yes, they have many many different qualities and beliefs, but
what you look at them from a wider lense, you can see they all have similar goals and undeniable comparisons. Through this class, I noticed a
universal similarity of all of these religions: the belief that there is something more. While, yes, this may seem obvious, there are so many people
on this planet connected to something higher than I feel I have ever been able to understand. While I was learning about all of the different
qualities in the major and some minor religions around the world, I also discovered the core of these religions, spirituality, belief of a higher being
or beings in power, and the connection people have with these to improve their lives. This course focused greatly on the essence of each religion in
order to truly uncover what it is about. Every answer each professor, specialist, persist, or follower gave had to do with spirituality. Spirituality, as a

Society's Role in Margery Kempe's Autobiography Essay
Society's Role in Margery Kempe's Autobiography
In her essay "Professions for Women," Virginia Woolf recounts her experience with Coventry Patmore's "Angel in the House." The "Angel," society's
ideal woman, is concerned primarily with others, identifies herself only as a wife/mother, and remains conventional in her actions, conscious of the
standards for women. Woolf indicates that women writers are guided by this "Angel" unless they liberate themselves. Society's ideals ("the Angel in the
House") have influenced Margery Kempe's autobiography as revealed by her content, form, and identity.
Kempe chronicles her struggle to obey God while attending to her marital duties: she says to her husband, "I may not deny you my body, but the ...

Kempe writes her autobiography in the third–person perspective, which is indicative of society's influence on her writing. Referring to herself as "this
creature," Kempe puts the reader in a situation where she/he more likely associates with the "creature" as a character than a real person. Also, the
focus chapters 3, 4, and 11 is primarily on Kempe's spirituality, illustrated best by her diction: 'God,' 'Heaven,' 'sin,' 'temptation,' and an array of
other religious jargon characterize her speech, as opposed to 'sexual' or 'spiritual' 'liberation' or 'subjective truth.' Because of the time in which she
wrote this, Kempe's work must have been of religious significance, not an example of feminist or existentialist theory. Furthermore, Kempe seems
to have internalized the condemning voice of the church, as she chastises and demonizes herself. For example, "She thought she was worthy of no
mercy, for her consent was so willfully done, nor ever worthy to do Him service, because she was so false to Him" (22). Even if she really felt this way
about herself, Kempe seems to be stating readers' reactions, especially when she quotes her husband, who told her, "Ye are no good wife" (23).
Coventry Patmore's nineteenth–century "Angel in the House" post–dates Margery Kempe by about four hundred years. Thus Kempe does not

Spiritual Formation Ministry Plan
God expects individuals that call themselves "Christian" to grow spiritually. The Word of God encourages personal examination as a part of the
growth process, as found in Psalm 139:23–24: "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way
in me; lead me in the everlasting way." Becoming more Christ–like focuses on how He works in us and not on our work for Him. The Cycle of Works
demonstrates that regardless of work we complete, the acceptance of others, the sustainability of our works and the significance it brings, we cannot
compete with God's Cycle of Grace that show us that we are significant in His sight and that brings us sustenance and acceptance ... Show more content

According to Ruth Haley Barton in Sacred Rhythms, individuals would then be able to understand what their personal minimum requirements are for
ongoing spiritual growth.
My model for spiritual formation in the local church would include spiritual, relational, and missional aspects such as personal devotions, spiritual
friendships, participating in corporate worship, and serving God's Kingdom.
Spiritual. Daily time spent in prayer along with a regular, unhurried time in the Bible is essential for growth. In the Bible, growth is linked to spiritual
maturity and becoming more like Jesus (Romans 12:1–2, 2 Corinthians 3:18). Time in prayer, at the beginning and the end of day
Relational. The ministry of Jesus was focused on people and meeting their needs. Spending time with others, both individually and through corporate
gatherings, is modeled throughout the Bible. Fellowship with other believers in small groups allows individuals to forge relationships and develop
accountability at some level. These deeper bonds demonstrate to others their love for God and others by loving God's Law, obeying it by God's grace,
and allowing it to lead to Jesus Christ for transformation into His image.
Missional. The totality of spiritual growth can be summed up in Matthew 22:37–39; that all of spiritual growth should be measured against increased
love for God and increased love of our neighbor.

Psychology, Theology And Spirituality
A 4–MAT Review: Psychology, Theology and Spirituality in the Christian Counseling
Introduction
Mark McMinn is a trained psychologist who is known for his book that was written in 1996 called Psychology, Theology and Spirituality in Christian
Counseling. McMinn had advocated for the Christians who are counselors for many years. McMinn is very experienced in the work and in his field of
study. One of the biggest things that McMinn stresses is the importance of establishing and maintaining a good trustworthy relationship with the client
and showing ways of how to confront the client as a therapeutic approach.. The major purpose for this is to create and achieve a lasting change to the
client so that the counseling process can be effective (McMinn, 1996).
Summary
In effect, Mark McMinn has utilized theology, spirituality and psychology to help individuals in enhancing diverse concepts of their lives. Notably, the
author articulates clearly that the counselor should be strong particularly in their personal spirituality. Hence, this is important because it is the only
way to assist their clients appropriately in the counseling process. The author also expounds on various precautions, which counselors must take, as
well as the limitations. Subsequently, it can be challenging to incorporate the counselor's spirituality especially in their counseling sessions since many
of them are not confident since they lack adequate knowledge about the Bible. Thus, this will result to

How Discipline Is Not Easy
Discipline has always been, to me, a thought of growing in yourself or in this case growing in your relationship with Christ. Discipline is not easy, in
fact, it is hard, but the results are what we discipline ourselves for. Celebration of Discipline was a very eye opening and insightful book in many
aspects. Foster, the author, describes spiritual discipline as an inward and outward reality. Meaning, the inner and outward attitude of the discipline.
The bible uses spiritual discipline to describe fasting, prayer, worship, and even celebration. When Jesus spoke of spiritual discipline, he hardly gives
instruction of how to discipline ourselves spiritually. This book book gives more of an outline/guidance to types of disciplines that could help you in
your spiritual journey. There are three types of disciplines discussed in this book, along with many sub–categories within each type. All these groups
are used to help one form a more well–rounded spiritual life. The types are inward, outward, and corporate discipline. Inward discipline is a type of
discipline that focuses on your inner self/spiritual life. This involves things like praying, meditation, fasting, and studying. Outward disciple is more of
what you can do as an individual to discipline yourself spiritually, such as simplicity, solitude, submission, and service. These are still self centered but
more focused on the outside actions rather than the inside actions. Finally, we have the corporate discipline. This

Faith, Belief, Prayer, Innocence, And Innocence
Love Heals In searching for something to say at a memorial service I came across a few variations of a poem that included this line: If love alone
could have saved you, you never would have died. It occurs to me that anyone whose mind is not permanently deluded from the study of metaphysical
religious thought knows this to be a true statement. There are countless published works in New Thought literature which advance the idea that love
heals all. And, I suppose that we could substitute many other words in place of love: faith, belief, prayer, innocence, etc. It is simply not true that a
certain awareness or consciousness will heal the body, and an inadequate grasp of that concept is responsible for succumbing to illness; yet there ...

Getting our bloated nothingness out of the way of the divine circuits is something only we can do to facilitate the healing process. We don 't need to
add our intelligence to it, direct it, enhance or empower it. The infinite creative intelligence of Life Itself is taking care of our body. It is up to us to
take care of our mind, our soul, our life and being. Most people think they must take care of their body and leave the rest to the love and mercy of
God. They take responsibility for that which they cannot do, and leave undone that which only they can do. Our responsibility in healing is to change
our mind, to bring ourselves into alignment with what God is already doing.
Our prayer doesn 't move God into action; it removes any imagined obstruction to our healing.
Our love does not move God; it removes the sense of separation from God. Love heals, but it doesn 't heal the body. Love heals the mind of a sense
of separation, rejection, isolation, inadequacy and loss. Does healing the mind facilitate healing the body? Yes, and we should do everything that helps.

Resentment towards God in the Religous Poem, Tenebrae
In "Tenebrae," Paul Celan channels his resentment towards God through a methodical use of literary techniques. Celan utilizes several motifs to
express his bitterness throughout the religious poem that allow his emotions to be portrayed in an understandable manner. One may identify death and
a sense of closeness as the major motifs along with drinking and prayer as minor motifs Celan used to portray his dark emotions. With the use of
effective motifs, the key element of role reversal, and an angered tone, Celan gets his warning to God.
The poem is spoken through humans towards God, with an evident theme of death that is demonstrated throughout the poem. Death is shown through
the sense of slaughter; it is brought up in the beginning of the poem with the use of words "claw," and "clawed." It is a possibility that these words
are the author's way of referencing the slaughter. In ritual slaughter animals were killed not by blunt force, but by something sharp. Knifes or perhaps
claws were used to cut the animal open such that blood flowed freely out the animal1.Celan keeps up the motif of death with the following verses.
"Askew we went there," (10)
"went there to bend" (11)
"down to the trough, to the crater." (12)
"To be watered we went there, Lord." (13)
Celan alludes to animals with the metaphor in lines 11 and 12 with the word "trough". One may agree with this idea considering the fact that cattle
feed, and drink out of troughs. "Crater" and "watered" could be seen as

David Brainerd was born in on April 20, 1718 to Hezekiah Brainerd, Esq, and Dorothy Hobart. He had four brothers and four sisters. Most of his
brothers ended up in the ministry, although those that did not were respectable upright people. David's father died when he was nine and his
mother died five years later when David was fourteen, so at a very young David was fatherless and motherless.1 David was always a type of person
inclined to be melancholy. He was always a religious person. He made sure that he did everything right, because he was afraid of death. He performed
all the duties of religion without a true conversion.2 Then, in 1738, David went to live with a man named Rev. Mr. Fiske. It was here that David kept a

My Spiritual And Discipleship Condition Essay
"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way
everlasting" (KJV Ps. 139:23–24). In this verse, David asks God to help him search his heart so that he can be closer to God. Without God, the process
of self–evaluation is impossible as David states in his psalm. What makes David such a good source for advice? In the Bible, David is known as "a
man after God's own heart" (1 Sam. 13:14). If David recognized the importance of self–evaluation, then every Christian should continually evaluate
themselves according to God's principles in the Bible. In this paper, I will be examining my spiritual and discipleship condition in relation to myself,
God, and others.
In relation to myself, my biggest weakness would be my fear and anxiety. My biggest fear is change. In the past, I have had many bad experiences
with change. For example, the most traumatic change in my life was the move from England to South Korea. The leaving behind of friends, culture,
and comfort caused great distress. Another challenge and change was moving from South Korea to America when my mother became very sick. This
change had a very big impact on anxiety as the fear of losing my mother changed me emotionally. During sixth grade, I went to the middle school and
was bullied. This experience motivated me to become homeschooled. The most recent big change that I experienced was going to college. Because of

`` Homo Religiosus `` By Karen Armstrong
Conceived in eras of uncertainty and strife, many people weave through the contradictions and inner struggles within communities, while also
indulging themselves in the broad concept of redefining themselves just to feel accepted by the society around them. In "Homo religiosus" Karen
Armstrong brings out the materialized definition of an "individual" through concepts such as religion, activities like yoga, the artistic features of
caves, and most importantly the image of Brahma. The detailed notions placed on each concept yields the reassuring meaning that religion
symbolically is a safe harbor, in which individuals can feel comforted and relieved. However the question that always comes up is if an individual is
willing to exclude themselves from the harsh realities of society. As the essay progresses, Armstrong 's usage of words such as kenosis–emptying–,
junzi–maturity–, and anatta–dethrone–broadens the idea on how an individual's illusion of an identity can be renewed and reached (14,17). However
with the brutish imagery that is brought up throughout the essay a sense of isolation and hopelessness, making for a mood of muted panic and dread
questions the truth behind the meaning of a "being". Yet in the end the idea that there is a world outside the circles ofhuman existence, gets the
individual going as they search for something worth living for. In a world where the word perfect seems to be vague and undefined, individuals go on
the quest of making a name for

The Bible Talks About Perfection And Spiritual Maturity
Perfection, what is it? Is it getting things totally the way we want it? Who says what perfection is? In our Christian life, God says what perfection is,
but if God says what perfection is and he is perfect perfection, how can we as humans make it to that level of perfection? The Bible talks about
perfection in many ways. Most of the time it is used in the form of a human's spiritual maturity. Humans will never reach perfect perfection until they
get to heaven. While we are still here on earth, we are continually striving for another meaning of the word perfect, which is the perfection that God
has, actual perfection. As long as we are trying to have the best maturity possible, we will get the best that God has for us while we are ... Show more

The Bible also talks about the old covenant not making people perfect, but the new covenant made them perfect later. This basically means that the
old covenant really did not do anything for them, but it made them eligible for the new covenant, which in turn made them perfect. All of the
meanings basically mean known fully, or fully mature, or complete. For what we are learning here, we are going to look at only two previously
stated meanings. Those meanings can be found in Philippians 3:12 and 3:15. They are actual perfection (God's perfection) and spiritual maturity
(a Christian's perfection). Philippians 3:15 says that whoever is perfect we are supposed to be in the same mind as Paul, but if they are not, God
would reveal it to them. If this were actual perfection we as humans would not be able to attain it, but, on the other hand, if we are not as spiritually
mature as God wants us to be, he could let us know and lead us in that direction. The meaning of perfect is totally opposite in Philippians 3:12. Paul
talks about not having gotten to the point of being perfect. Paul is human so until he reaches heaven he will never attain the actual perfection. He will
be trying to get closer but he will not reach it until heaven. Paul is talking about God's actual perfection which he is still working to grasp ahold of. In
these two verses perfect is used as God's actual perfection, attained only in heaven, and the spiritual maturity which keeps growing

There are many reasons why we don 't do things that we know are good for us. When I first was exposed to meditation, at about 19 years of age, I was
working on my first academic degree. I had begun studying the positive effects of meditation. My exposure to meditation was very scientific, very
medical. I learned how meditation was good for your heart, your stress levels and just overall good for your health. I would describe it all in very
scientific and medical descriptions exclusively.
While I knew it was good for me to meditate I wasn 't overly concerned with keeping my blood pressure down and such. I was a typical 19 year old
student and didn 't worry about "long term effects". Luckily, I did enjoy the benefits of meditation from the very beginning; however, I think that what
I didn 't realize at the time that I wasn 't meditating regularly because I didn 't make the time to meditate. While I enjoyed meditating I was "too busy"
to take the time out regularly to practice it. I basically practiced meditating

The role of prayers in securing and maintaining your peace cannot be over–emphasized. A life without prayers is one full of troubles and that will soon
be terminated. A prayerful person knows better not to play with hisprayer time since experience has taught him that he rules over the devil on his knees.
This post emphasizes the importance of prayer in maintaining your peace of mind.
"Prayer is not a check request asking for things from God. It is a deposit slip – a way of depositing God 's character into our bankrupt souls." – Dutch
Sheets,
"Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden." – Corrie Ten Boom
"Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons, but they are helpless against our prayers." – J. Sidlow
Baxter

Journey Towards Faith : The Journey Toward Faith Essay
Journey Toward Faith
There are many religions in the world that people belong to or believe in. Believing in something higher gives us a strong hold on motivation and
faith. Many people are born into a religion, but not everyone continues to believe or follow the religion they grew up in. As we get older we start to
understand why we practice our beliefs and not the others.
I was born into a Christian family. When I was young I didn 't understand the whole religion processes or why I really prayed. I just knew that I went to
church every Sunday and prayed to a man named God. After a few years my family and I stopped going to church as often. We only went once in a
while and always went during Christmas, Easter, and New Year. That all changed when I got my car and I became close friends the the pastor 's
daughter and nieces. I told me self I would go to church every Sunday and try to learn who God was and get closer to him.
In February I went to a church convention called Winterfest in Rochester, New York. The event was nothing I expected. It wasn 't your ordinary
church. It was a three day convention for youths with a stage, strobe lights, poets, rappers, singers, and bishops. They preached in the language of the
teenagers. It was an experience of a life time. I witnessed teens younger and older than me catch the Holy Spirit. I always thought it was something
adults got. I never really understood what it was until that I experienced it myself. That was the day I

If prayer was God 's Idea, then it would stand to reason that He would make it simple enough for us to understand. Even though it is simple, the
reasons why so many people never walk in it are vast. This is not something that I got out of a book, or made up. It 's something God showed me
through the Holy Spirit, so please read with an open mind and meditate on what you read.
Step #1 The Power Within:
"God is able to do exceeding, abundantly, above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." Most people think that God can
do whatever He wants to do, but according to this verse, it all depends upon a power that is at work in us. To understand that power we need to look
at a couple of verses before this one. Paul prayed the following:
"That He (God) would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might, through His Spirit, in the inner man, that Christ
may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the

Understanding Prayer And The Non Believer
Application Paper
Carolyn Strickland
THEO 104 D43 LUO
August 17, 2015
I. Introduction
As each of us travel through life, decision making is a perpetual fact. Sometimes the choices are simple, straightforward and just happen without any
thought. Sometimes the choices are harder, more complex, and often do not have a clear option. It is during these difficult decisions that Christians
have an advantage over the non–believer. The non–believer often gets frustrated, overwhelmed and states that it is hopeless; therefore they give up
easily. As a believer in Christ, we know that our hope rests in the arms ofGod. Hope never ends and is always there when you need it. This leads to the
question of how to find hope and understand prayer. Our hope comes from developing a relationship with God through daily prayer. It is prayer that
strengthens our hope. Prayer is a direct line of communication with God. Without hope, there is no room for prayer. As we pray, our hope reflects
God's love in our life even in the difficult times.
Hope
II. Part One a. Theological Definition: Hope Hope is defined as "a reliance on God's blessing and provision; the expectation of future good."
(Youngblood, 1995) Hope is a confident expectancy. It is an indication of certainty and not being doubtful. It deals with things we cannot see or have
not received. Hope is for and about the future; it is what keeps us going. Faith is what creates our hope. Hebrews 11:1 defines hope the best:

The journal article is important as it digs in the fundamentals of humility. Humility happens to be a virtue that personalities should possess so that they
can relate well to their daily interactions. Additionally, it captures its development in many cultures, societies and religions. Humility demonstrates
resonance with the contemporary world today. It calls for self–learning and remarks on the present self–deprecation. This will bring about adaptations,

Personal Anthropology : ' The ' Of ' Hell '
1. a.) Humans, within their sin nature, are subhuman. I've decided to kick off this personal anthropology with the idea which had the largest impact on
me. I know I have deliberated on this subject many times in many response papers, but I find it was the most impactful idea during the corse.
Understanding the wrestle with the "beast," or sin nature within, has allowed me to begin to have, not only more grace for others, but leo myself. In the
past, I have consistently fallen into unhealthy, self–destructive perfectionism because I was constantly upset with myself for falling below the standard.
In turn, I also upheld others to this ideal of perfectionism. The problem here was that I did not make room of the fight against our animalistic qualities
we must take up. And a part from God, we will lose to it. In further understanding that we "do the things we do not wish to do" (Romans 7:15), I see
myself becoming a more gracious person. Suddenly, when someone lashes out in the middle of a conversation, rather than reacting to it, I am
recognizing that they are fighting against the inner subhuman characteristics, and that was, in that moment, a fight they had lost. This allows me to be
kinder when pointing out the destructive behavior, coming from a place of humility, knowing that I too have lost against the struggle. b.) We are
attempting to regain our humanity. However, this can only be done through imitating and being in relationship with Christ. "All true anthropology

Analysis Of Andrew Murray 's With Christ And The Joy Of...
In Andrew Murray's With Christ in the School of Prayer, it is proposed from the words of John (1 John 2:12–14) that, "In the Christian life there are
three great stages of experience: the first is that of the new–born child filled with the assurance and the joy of forgiveness, the second is that of
transition, of struggle and growth in knowledge and strength, and is comparable to young men growing strong, and the final stage of maturity and
ripeness is that of the Fathers, who have entered deeply into the knowledge and fellowship of the Eternal One." These stages suggest progression and
development over a period of time in the life of a Christian. To better understand the manner in which development occurs in the Christian life it is
necessary to address the subject of progressive sanctification. I will expound upon this subject through an explanation of the meaning of progressive
sanctification, how it is manifested in the local church, what the Bible says about moving from spiritual infancy to maturity, and the role of
discipleship in the process.
According to the Oxford American Dictionary, the words progressive and sanctification together implies the gradual development of being set apart
and made holy. In order to gain a better understanding and appreciation of this development it is important to understand its origin and nature. First of
all, when a person is born of the spirit upon the confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior followed by baptism, he is set

Examine the main characteristics of both visions and conversion experiences [30 marks]
Visions and conversions are both a type of religious experience– it's a subjective experience where an individual reports contact with a supernatural
reality, an encounter or union with the divine, Religious experiences are preoccupied by extraordinary psychological state and no one can give real
evidence about it.
According to William James, a 20th century philosopher; every religious experience has four characteristics. Ineffability, meaning that these
experiences can't be expressed or it is challenging to express them; people often gain an insight or they learn something from the experience of how to
carry on with their life. Transiency,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An intellectual vision causes the person to become aware of an abstract concept such as the 'grace of God'– a numinous experience. These are often
followed by a sense of inner peace or a call toward religious life.
A conversion experience is one in which the 'goal' is to change one set of beliefs. This process is called a double action; this is because one must
turn away from a previous lifestyle and turn to a new state of being. The development of conversion can be a sudden experience or a gradual one
and the end result is usually a greater understanding of faith. People may convert for several reasons; It may be about years of searching for a
spiritual home, or about a moment of inspiration that has caught them by surprise; sometimes it involves the pain of breaking away from a previous
path, a sense of loneliness and wrestling with doubt. Some may say that a conversion takes place when one's identity is perceived to be inadequate
and so they move to being in a state when adequacy is met, and the knew life they start is a holy one. There are four main stages identified which can
lead to a conversion experience; a prior interest in religious questions and other related issues, the influence of other cases of conversion, a situation
which may involve physical and emotional upset, and the moment of conversion which brings about a radical change in feeling and outlook of the
persons life. There

It has been referred to as "eco–feminism" to reflect this increased emphasis. This stems from the Wiccan ideology that people have a unique
responsibility toward the environment because of our ability to make conscious choices (Corbett 292). Goddess worship broadened to include African,
Asian, and Native American ideals beyond the classic Wiccan deities. It became"politically correct" by beginning to include gays and lesbians
(formerly neglected with the emphasis on male–female fertility) as well as the ecological movement and an openness to people of color and other
minorities. Now considered the fastest growing religion in America by some scholars, neo–Pagans were represented at the World Council of Religions
in 1993. Despite the spread of feminist and goddess belief, many witches still face discrimination because of their faith. People outside the neo–Pagan
community still often confuse Wicca with Satanism, feeling that witchcraft is not a valid religion and should not be afforded the same protections as
more 'mainstream', consensus religions. However, Wicca and other goddess religions are not Satanistic. Satanism focuses on the Christian idea of the
devil, whereas these spiritualities predate Christianity and have no link to those beliefs (Corbett 292). Another common misconception is that witches

Religion And Spirituality On The United States Of America...
Religion and spirituality have been complex issues in the United States of America. This is especially true when it comes to Native Americans. Since
the 16th century, contact between Native Americans and Europeans has been filled with both good and bad. In this paper, the issue of religion and
spirituality and how they figure into the story of Indian–European contact between the 16th and 21st centuries will be discussed. The people of the
Eastern Woodlands held beliefs about the human, natural, and supernatural worlds. The people believed that there was no line between the human
and natural worlds. In some languages, animals were referred to as people. Humans were referred to as "extra" people, or people people. They also
believed there was no line between the natural and supernatural worlds. They also had in their beliefs the idea of manitou. Manitou roughly translates
to "spirit" in English. They believed there was manitou in everything in the human, natural, and supernatural worlds. They believed there was power
in the natural world itself. In a reading done in class, "Farmers of the Woodlands," written by Peter Nabokov and Dean Snow, there is discussion of
the religious and spiritual beliefs of the people who lived in the Eastern Woodlands. For the Penobscot bands, they had the spiritual belief of totems.
These totems were animals. They believed the totems were the ancestors to the people of the band. These totems linked them to the lands they lived,

SPIRITUAL LIFE AND BELIEFS
I do not really have a defining moment in my life where everything changed and gave up drugs and drinking and turned towards God. However, I do

I was born in a very spiritual family with parents who had very clear and strict rules when it came to church. After I was born, as soon as I was able to

As I became more mature and more in touch with my spirituality, the area of spiritual gifts became of great interest to me. The thought that the
different areas of effectiveness and skills are from God is interesting. I grew up with the teaching that we had God given abilities but I had never
equated these with spiritual gifts. To me they were just skills that we had been born with and I felt that our genetics and social conditioning had more
to do with these gifts than the Holy Spirit do since there were non–Christians who exhibited the same abilities and gifts as Christians. It took a lot of
reasoning and realization for me to understand that despite both us having similar gifts, the spiritual and Holy Spirit manifestation in me as a Christian
allows me to use my gifts in accordance to what God intended me to.
Many Christians today are racing through life with the same attitude I had, they know it all and there's nothing you can tell them which they don't

The Environment:
The environment is constantly being sacrificed for food production, toxic dumps, wood distribution, military testing, and other things such as these.
And as usual, the root lies in profit. The corporations can't afford to be concerned with the future well being of the earth and it's dwellers. Also,
environmental pollution can be connected to racism and classism because it is the poor communities that are used for toxic dumps and prisons, and it's
the poor people who work in the factories that require having contact with harmful chemicals and technologies, and generally the poor communities

I have often heard the excuse that it would cost too much for cooperations to clean up after themselves, that the expenditure would lead to extensive

"Why doesn 't God answer my prayers?" How often have we asked that question? "Almost too many to count," we reprimand ourselves. We look for
reasons why we aren 't heard by God.
Do I pray hard enough?
Do I ask for too much?
Do I ask for too little?
Am I just being ignored?
Do I need to be more specific?
Maybe God has more important things to do than answer my prayers. After all, He has a great universe to manage.
Am I not worthy to be answered? Perhaps God is paying attention to someone else either on this planet or elsewhere.
Am I just praying for the wrong things? Maybe, perish the thought, God does not exist at all. He might be merely a figment of my childhood
imagination like the tooth fairy.
The problem is not with God. Maybe the problem is within my self. If I look at myself honestly, I might see both the problem and the solution.
First, I know how to pray. I was taught by my parents. As a child they showed me the way to pray, the times to pray, the words to say, the proper
postures to assume, and the correct frame of mind

A Discussion On Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous is one of the most widely known and used 12 step groups, it was found in 1935 by two men who wanted to share and
support those who wanted to become sober. Currently I am in California so I had to search for a meeting here and I was able to find a 12 step
meeting at a local church that took place in the morning. My thoughts before the meeting were interested as well as nervous. I never went to one
of these meetings nor do I know what one is about. Im not to sure what AA entails so I was interested in learning about it. Currently my boyfriends
father is a recovering alcoholic so going to this made me think of him and I believe may help me understand him, his thought, and his feelings a
little better. Before the meeting I began to read that AA does not discriminate including to those with other addictions, but closed meetings are
specifically for those battling addicting to alcohol (Capuzzi & Stauffer, 2012). When I arrived they had coffee and refreshments open to anyone
which i found thoughtful and a good way to get people talking. I saw mainly people with families there who seemed to be going for support. I was
still a little apprehensive going by myself as a student and at the time did not feel open to sharing. A man came to the front and stated he is the
speaker for this meeting and welcomed us to an open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. The meeting began with a moment of silence for those who

Some of these so called religions would be Christianity including the Roman Catholic Church, Protestants, European Religions and also Judaism
who thought of as god being male i.e. Jesus. Goddess worship was gradually combined with worship of male Gods to produce a variety of Pagan
religions, thus losing some of its singular focus on the female as a deity. Goddess Worship during the Christian era was molded by more dominant
outside forces. As Judaism, Christianity & eventually Islam evolved, the Pagan religions were suppressed and the female principle was gradually
driven out of religion. Consequently women were reduced to a level inferior to men. The God, King, Priest & Father replaced the Goddess, Queen,
Priestess & Mother (Miles 24). A woman's testimony was not considered significant in courts, women were not allowed to speak in churches, and
positions of authority in the church were (almost without exception) limited to men. A feminine presence was added to Christianity when the Virgin
Mary was named Theotokos (Mother of God). However, her role was heavily restricted and included none of the fertility components present in Pagan
religions.
A low point in the life of women was reached during the Renaissance, when hundreds of thousands of suspected female witches were exterminated
being burned and hanged. At the turn of the century, scholars began writing about a "Mother Goddess". By the 1950s, Gerald Gardner

The Theory Of Religion And Spirituality

  • 1. The Theory Of Religion And Spirituality A Gallup poll indicated that religion is a "very important" part of the lives of approximately 67% of the American public, of whom 96% believe in God and 42% attend religious services regularly (Powell, Shahabi, & Thoresen, 2003). People join religious institutions and follow spiritual paths for a variety of reasons, such as faith, prayer, social support, cultural traditions, commitment to the community, and more. The role ofreligion in people's lives is dramatic and research on the topic has mirrored this importance. Research on the relationship between religion, spirituality, and health has significantly increased over the last 15 years in a variety of disciplines (Koenig, 2012). The mental health field has also piqued an interest in the topic of religion and spirituality, and many studies have shown that religiosity and spirituality have a positive relationship with mental health (Koenig, 2012). This purpose of this paper is to explore the mechanisms through which religion and spirituality produce well–being and happiness, and how to incorporate those mechanisms into clinical practice. Definitions of Religion and Spirituality A critically important aspect of studying religion and spirituality is establishing the appropriate definitions of the terms. Researchers have often had trouble differentiating the two concepts and find there are significant overlap between them. • 2. Importance And Significance Of Forgiveness The topic of this paper is the importance and significance of "forgiveness" in resolving conflict. To resolve a conflict, forgiveness is at some point is a must. It may not come immediately but one has to be open to having the ability to both give and receive it in order for reconciliation to be successful. One may ask how forgiving someone they are in conflict with is important to achieving a positive outcome such as reconciliation. This paper is going to explore that question and show that yes, having the ability to forgive, is very significant in finding a resolution to the conflict. It will research viewpoints on forgiveness and its much needed contribution to resolve a conflict. It will look into how the field of psychology views the importance of forgiveness and that of a biblical worldview and even the effects it can have on your daily health. Not everyone looks at forgiveness the same, most all want some kind of resolution or reconciliation when conflicts arise. In some people, forgiveness comes naturally but in others it can be learned. Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you" (Holy Bible ESV). The purpose of this paper is providing research to show the importance of forgiveness, both of oneself and to others, because without it, some conflicts become never–ending. Forgiveness is a "way of healing human relationships and solving human conflicts" (Gopin, 2001, para. 1). Forgiveness comes in many ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Power, Authority, And Equality Power, authority, and equality are all challenging and effortful goals that women continually fight for in many different societies. The progression of those goals are continuously improving, but there is still a separation between the power, authority, and equality granted to men and women. There are multiple different ways and methods used by feminist in their attempts to gain power, authority, and equality in all aspects of life. These aspects that feminist strive to improve are made possible by an organization called Brigid's Place. Brigid's Place garners power, authority, and equality for women through its spiritually involved ministries that include transitional programs for women. These ministries that were provided by the Christ Church Cathedral and its governing body the Rotating Circle, consisted of a variety of topics that included "women's voice, gender roles, women's spiritual history, theology and the scriptures, women and work, women and families, and issues confronting women and men in our evolving society" (Brigid's Place Records). Two programs that were influential in helping homeless women in their efforts toward empowerment and spiritual growth, which were created by Brigid's Place, were the Home of the Sparrow and Brigid's Hope. Both the Home of the Sparrow and Brigid's home were transitional programs that helped women in need. Transitional shelters are temporary homes that individuals are allowed to live in for a certain period of time, before they are expected to have the power and knowledge to go out and live on their own. The Home of the sparrow which was established in 1986, helps homeless women and their children off the street in an effort to negate their "feeling[s] of detachment from family, friends, church, and even [themselves]" (Brigid's Place Records). Brigid's Hope, another transitional program which was established in 1999, provides assistance to paroled individuals, by offering them access to a social worker who gives them an assessment analyzing their needs, helping them make a personalized transition plan, helping them ... • 4. Victorian Spiritualism Controversy The Spiritualism was and still is a controversial topic the controversy comes in with what is what people believe in. Spiritualism was based on the spirits that lived on after death but not everyone believed or believes in the spirits still existing after death. Spiritualists were mostly women who within them had many feminists' beliefs in which they demonstrated that women should have the same rights as men. Alex Owen in The Darkened Room: Women, Power, and Spiritualism in Late Victorian England, introduces how women power became a problem in Victorian society..."Despite the fact that gender categories are always open to contestation, and that there were underlying tensions in the nineteenth century thinking about femininity, the idea of female... In Science and the SГ©ance: Transgressions of Gender and Genre in Late Victorian London by Judith R. Walkowitz she describes, "Spiritualists responded by elaborating an iconography of male medical evil, portraying the doctor as a fraud and as a sexuality dangerous man, a divided personality whose science made him cruel, blood thirsty, and hyper masculine because it suppressed his feminine, spiritual part" (Walkowitz 5). The images that were put out by both sides created a real struggle with knowing what the truth. Did the women have and illness or was it just the control that the doctors and science had on the society at the time? Doctors had creditability because they worked of facts. But in this case they were not working of full facts they were mostly working on diagnoses of how women acted and used it as a way of justifying their view on spiritualism by using the medical field. The view that psychiatrists at that time had on spiritualism was that is affected "weak minded hysterical women" but in reality these women were very progressed for their time. Spiritualism was a way for women mostly of middle class to find a sanctuary and create their own culture. The sГ©ance that happened was a way to express their feelings in other ways. The results from diverse institutions from the United States give a suggestion that spiritually integrated therapy is desirable and can be beneficial for specific subsets of patients. Cognitive behavioral therapy refers to a behavioral therapy that was initially developed by Aaron T, Beck in the 1960s. CBT is based on the argument that a person's belief system is the attributable cause (Corey, 1996). The internal dialogues of an individual play a central role in that person's way of acting. Spirituality on the other hand, refers to the nature or religion, devotion or piety. It is an individual's belief system that emanates from their own connecting with the transcendent. There it is imperative that every kind of counselling should borrow issues of spirituality for purposes of effectiveness. The issue to be analyzed again is whether cognitive therapy can also be used to address counselling issues that are of spiritual nature. Since people are so easily susceptible to be influenced by others, each person must rely on their beliefs in order to make a judgment that is morally and ethically pleasing through their knowledge and experiences. A person's morals and ethics are formed through their religious beliefs and practices. Morals and ethics allow one to make a knowledgeable and responsible decision. "The sacred and transcendent" is defined, as that of which is "otherworldly." It is the mystical world, the supernatural. In Christian terms, "the sacred and transcendent" is the realm of the world outside of creation. Heaven and hell are two elements that are regarded as being "the sacred and transcendent" in Christianity. They are the supernatural realms that existed before creation. These realms are where one's soul and spirit eternally rest when they die. Heaven is one of the most sacred concepts in Christianity. According to God, our bodies are delicate mortal seeds. Upon death, a person is laid to rest in the ground and at this moment the "seed" sprouts releasing the immortal soul. God, our one and only creator judge the soul of the person, and only those souls that are without sin and are not immoral or tainted by evil are allowed to enter the gates of heaven. Heaven is the realm for those people who followed the beliefs and practices of their respective religions according to their God. Stover Southern Adventist University The God Factor: Exploring the Roles VHA Chaplains Bear in Providing Human (Spiritual) Services Within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), chaplains play many different roles. Chaplains are not only counselors who contend with the spiritual and religious needs of veterans and their families, they also aid with the emotional, mental, physical, and relational needs of veterans. For many, this will entail more effectively integrating chaplaincy with mental health care services, an objective that is consistent with the mission of VA (Nieuwsma, & Rhodes 2013). Furthermore, it has been shown that chaplains can, if given the opportunity, play an integral role in the mitigating of mental health issues, and in the caring of veterans seeking help and services for emotional, relational, and mental health–related problems (Nieuwsma, & Rhodes p. 15 2013). Suicide–a chaplains role. Nowhere are the services of chaplains needed more than in helping those veterans at–risk for suicide. The VA recognizes the important role of chaplains as front–line, mental–health providers for active–duty personnel and veterans, including the chaplain's role in suicide prevention (Ramchand, Acosta, Burns, Jaycox, & Pernin, 2011). Recently, attention has been paid to the prevailing suicide rate of veterans. In order to combat these rates, the VA and public health professionals have dedicated considerable time and effort to designing and implementing suicide prevention initiatives targeting Veteranpopulations (Kopacz 2013). The role that chaplains can play in helping veterans deal with suicidal ideations are immeasurable. Veterans can have a host of problems in relation to their military service that they don't have the tools to deal with; guilt, hopelessness, shame, despair, and grief to name but a few. Spiritual Formation Across the Lifespan Essay CHAPTER 9 SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT Hope Haslam Straughan Within the social work profession, there is a growing movement affirming that spirituality and religious beliefs are integral to the nature of the person and have a vital influence on human behavior (Hugen, 1998). Canda (1988) identifies spirituality as a basic aspect of human experience, both within and outside the context of religious institutions. If a social worker is going to approach a person in a holistic manner, he or she must be willing to consider each person as a wondrous compilation of bio–psycho–social–spiritual elements. In this role, we must ensure that every protection is given the client and that his or her helplessness is not exploited (Spencer, 1961). "Certainly, in the light of the high value the social work profession has always placed upon the client's right to solve his [or her] own problems in the way that seems right to him [or her], it is assumed that any considerations of the social worker's role in the area of religion would be set in this context" (pp. 519–520). Fast forward, the Lord guided me through the U.S. Marine Corps, Desert Storm and four tours of U.S. Embassy duty, it was not easy as in those days you had to fight daily as a Marine. It was just par for the course, so to speak, this I believed harden my spirit along with frequent drinking. I think the drinking became a way of coping with the tragic death of my mother among other things. While in the Marine and living in Africa I had a vision of a mountain and a gathering of people dressed in white. I later determine that the mountain and the people were in Ethiopia. The people all looked as though they were in a trance and were walking to and from the mountain. When I would walk up and asked them what they were doing, they would only say one word to me "Exodus" the Greek word meaning to depart just as the Israelites had departed Egypt. At the moment I did not truly understand what God was saying, but I now I realize that God was telling me to turn away from my worldly ways. See as a Marine I became very aggressive and would fight at the drop of a hat. I was a drinker and womanizer and the more of both I had, the better I thought I was doing. • 10. What Makes A Religion? As humans, we are all connected. While each living being holds a certain amount of unique qualities, at the core, we are the same. What makes us so similar? Is it that rhythm in our chest? Is it out compassion and love for one another? Is it the desire to create art and feel inspiration? I believe religion is the key to all of these. Even if one don't follow a religion, they can still admit that there is something spiritual about the likeness of each living, individual soul. Like humans, religions are also vastly similar at their core. Yes, they have many many different qualities and beliefs, but what you look at them from a wider lense, you can see they all have similar goals and undeniable comparisons. Through this class, I noticed a universal similarity of all of these religions: the belief that there is something more. While, yes, this may seem obvious, there are so many people on this planet connected to something higher than I feel I have ever been able to understand. While I was learning about all of the different qualities in the major and some minor religions around the world, I also discovered the core of these religions, spirituality, belief of a higher being or beings in power, and the connection people have with these to improve their lives. This course focused greatly on the essence of each religion in order to truly uncover what it is about. Every answer each professor, specialist, persist, or follower gave had to do with spirituality. • 11. Society's Role in Margery Kempe's Autobiography Essay Society's Role in Margery Kempe's Autobiography In her essay "Professions for Women," Virginia Woolf recounts her experience with Coventry Patmore's "Angel in the House." The "Angel," society's ideal woman, is concerned primarily with others, identifies herself only as a wife/mother, and remains conventional in her actions, conscious of the standards for women. Woolf indicates that women writers are guided by this "Angel" unless they liberate themselves. Society's ideals ("the Angel in the House") have influenced Margery Kempe's autobiography as revealed by her content, form, and identity. Kempe writes her autobiography in the third–person perspective, which is indicative of society's influence on her writing. Referring to herself as "this creature," Kempe puts the reader in a situation where she/he more likely associates with the "creature" as a character than a real person. Also, the focus chapters 3, 4, and 11 is primarily on Kempe's spirituality, illustrated best by her diction: 'God,' 'Heaven,' 'sin,' 'temptation,' and an array of other religious jargon characterize her speech, as opposed to 'sexual' or 'spiritual' 'liberation' or 'subjective truth.' Because of the time in which she wrote this, Kempe's work must have been of religious significance, not an example of feminist or existentialist theory. Furthermore, Kempe seems to have internalized the condemning voice of the church, as she chastises and demonizes herself. For example, "She thought she was worthy of no mercy, for her consent was so willfully done, nor ever worthy to do Him service, because she was so false to Him" (22). Even if she really felt this way about herself, Kempe seems to be stating readers' reactions, especially when she quotes her husband, who told her, "Ye are no good wife" (23). Coventry Patmore's nineteenth–century "Angel in the House" post–dates Margery Kempe by about four hundred years. Thus Kempe does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way." Becoming more Christ–like focuses on how He works in us and not on our work for Him. Psychology, Theology And Spirituality A 4–MAT Review: Psychology, Theology and Spirituality in the Christian Counseling Introduction Mark McMinn is a trained psychologist who is known for his book that was written in 1996 called Psychology, Theology and Spirituality in Christian Counseling. McMinn had advocated for the Christians who are counselors for many years. McMinn is very experienced in the work and in his field of study. One of the biggest things that McMinn stresses is the importance of establishing and maintaining a good trustworthy relationship with the client and showing ways of how to confront the client as a therapeutic approach.. The major purpose for this is to create and achieve a lasting change to the client so that the counseling process can be effective (McMinn, 1996). Summary In effect, Mark McMinn has utilized theology, spirituality and psychology to help individuals in enhancing diverse concepts of their lives. Notably, the author articulates clearly that the counselor should be strong particularly in their personal spirituality. Hence, this is important because it is the only way to assist their clients appropriately in the counseling process. The author also expounds on various precautions, which counselors must take, as well as the limitations. Subsequently, it can be challenging to incorporate the counselor's spirituality especially in their counseling sessions since many of them are not confident since they lack adequate knowledge about the Bible. • 14. How Discipline Is Not Easy Discipline has always been, to me, a thought of growing in yourself or in this case growing in your relationship with Christ. Discipline is not easy, in fact, it is hard, but the results are what we discipline ourselves for. Celebration of Discipline was a very eye opening and insightful book in many aspects. Foster, the author, describes spiritual discipline as an inward and outward reality. Meaning, the inner and outward attitude of the discipline. The bible uses spiritual discipline to describe fasting, prayer, worship, and even celebration. When Jesus spoke of spiritual discipline, he hardly gives instruction of how to discipline ourselves spiritually. This book book gives more of an outline/guidance to types of disciplines that could help you in your spiritual journey. There are three types of disciplines discussed in this book, along with many sub–categories within each type. All these groups are used to help one form a more well–rounded spiritual life. The types are inward, outward, and corporate discipline. Inward discipline is a type of discipline that focuses on your inner self/spiritual life. This involves things like praying, meditation, fasting, and studying. Outward disciple is more of what you can do as an individual to discipline yourself spiritually, such as simplicity, solitude, submission, and service. There are countless published works in New Thought literature which advance the idea that love heals all. It is up to us to take care of our mind, our soul, our life and being. Most people think they must take care of their body and leave the rest to the love and mercy of God. They take responsibility for that which they cannot do, and leave undone that which only they can do. Our responsibility in healing is to change our mind, to bring ourselves into alignment with what God is already doing. Our prayer doesn 't move God into action; it removes any imagined obstruction to our healing. Our love does not move God; it removes the sense of separation from God. • 17. Resentment towards God in the Religous Poem, Tenebrae In "Tenebrae," Paul Celan channels his resentment towards God through a methodical use of literary techniques. Celan utilizes several motifs to express his bitterness throughout the religious poem that allow his emotions to be portrayed in an understandable manner. One may identify death and a sense of closeness as the major motifs along with drinking and prayer as minor motifs Celan used to portray his dark emotions. With the use of effective motifs, the key element of role reversal, and an angered tone, Celan gets his warning to God. The poem is spoken through humans towards God, with an evident theme of death that is demonstrated throughout the poem. Death is shown through the sense of slaughter; it is brought up in the beginning of the poem with the use of words "claw," and "clawed." It is a possibility that these words are the author's way of referencing the slaughter. In ritual slaughter animals were killed not by blunt force, but by something sharp. Knifes or perhaps claws were used to cut the animal open such that blood flowed freely out the animal1.Celan keeps up the motif of death with the following verses. "Askew we went there," (10) "went there to bend" (11) "down to the trough, to the crater." (12) "To be watered we went there, Lord." (13) Celan alludes to animals with the metaphor in lines 11 and 12 with the word "trough". One may agree with this idea considering the fact that cattle feed, and drink out of troughs. My Spiritual And Discipleship Condition Essay "Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting" (KJV Ps. 139:23–24). In this verse, David asks God to help him search his heart so that he can be closer to God. Without God, the process of self–evaluation is impossible as David states in his psalm. What makes David such a good source for advice? In the Bible, David is known as "a man after God's own heart" (1 Sam. 13:14). If David recognized the importance of self–evaluation, then every Christian should continually evaluate themselves according to God's principles in the Bible. • 21. `` Homo Religiosus `` By Karen Armstrong Conceived in eras of uncertainty and strife, many people weave through the contradictions and inner struggles within communities, while also indulging themselves in the broad concept of redefining themselves just to feel accepted by the society around them. In "Homo religiosus" Karen Armstrong brings out the materialized definition of an "individual" through concepts such as religion, activities like yoga, the artistic features of caves, and most importantly the image of Brahma. The detailed notions placed on each concept yields the reassuring meaning that religion symbolically is a safe harbor, in which individuals can feel comforted and relieved. However the question that always comes up is if an individual is willing to exclude themselves from the harsh realities of society. As the essay progresses, Armstrong 's usage of words such as kenosis–emptying–, junzi–maturity–, and anatta–dethrone–broadens the idea on how an individual's illusion of an identity can be renewed and reached (14,17). However with the brutish imagery that is brought up throughout the essay a sense of isolation and hopelessness, making for a mood of muted panic and dread questions the truth behind the meaning of a "being". Yet in the end the idea that there is a world outside the circles ofhuman existence, gets the individual going as they search for something worth living for. All of the meanings basically mean known fully, or fully mature, or complete. For what we are learning here, we are going to look at only two previously stated meanings. Those meanings can be found in Philippians 3:12 and 3:15. They are actual perfection (God's perfection) and spiritual maturity (a Christian's perfection). Philippians 3:15 says that whoever is perfect we are supposed to be in the same mind as Paul, but if they are not, God would reveal it to them. If this were actual perfection we as humans would not be able to attain it, but, on the other hand, if we are not as spiritually mature as God wants us to be, he could let us know and lead us in that direction. The meaning of perfect is totally opposite in Philippians 3:12. Paul talks about not having gotten to the point of being perfect. Paul is human so until he reaches heaven he will never attain the actual perfection. He will be trying to get closer but he will not reach it until heaven. Believing in something higher gives us a strong hold on motivation and faith. Many people are born into a religion, but not everyone continues to believe or follow the religion they grew up in. As we get older we start to understand why we practice our beliefs and not the others. I was born into a Christian family. When I was young I didn 't understand the whole religion processes or why I really prayed. I just knew that I went to church every Sunday and prayed to a man named God. After a few years my family and I stopped going to church as often. We only went once in a while and always went during Christmas, Easter, and New Year. That all changed when I got my car and I became close friends the the pastor 's daughter and nieces. • 27. Understanding Prayer And The Non Believer Application Paper Carolyn Strickland THEO 104 D43 LUO August 17, 2015 I. Introduction As each of us travel through life, decision making is a perpetual fact. Sometimes the choices are simple, straightforward and just happen without any thought. Sometimes the choices are harder, more complex, and often do not have a clear option. It is during these difficult decisions that Christians have an advantage over the non–believer. The non–believer often gets frustrated, overwhelmed and states that it is hopeless; therefore they give up easily. As a believer in Christ, we know that our hope rests in the arms ofGod. Hope never ends and is always there when you need it. This leads to the question of how to find hope and understand prayer. Our hope comes from developing a relationship with God through daily prayer. It is prayer that strengthens our hope. Prayer is a direct line of communication with God. Without hope, there is no room for prayer. As we pray, our hope reflects God's love in our life even in the difficult times. Hope II. Part One a. I've decided to kick off this personal anthropology with the idea which had the largest impact on me. I know I have deliberated on this subject many times in many response papers, but I find it was the most impactful idea during the corse. Understanding the wrestle with the "beast," or sin nature within, has allowed me to begin to have, not only more grace for others, but leo myself. In the past, I have consistently fallen into unhealthy, self–destructive perfectionism because I was constantly upset with myself for falling below the standard. In turn, I also upheld others to this ideal of perfectionism. The problem here was that I did not make room of the fight against our animalistic qualities we must take up. And a part from God, we will lose to it. In further understanding that we "do the things we do not wish to do" (Romans 7:15), I see myself becoming a more gracious person. Suddenly, when someone lashes out in the middle of a conversation, rather than reacting to it, I am recognizing that they are fighting against the inner subhuman characteristics, and that was, in that moment, a fight they had lost. This allows me to be kinder when pointing out the destructive behavior, coming from a place of humility, knowing that I too have lost against the struggle. b.) • 30. Analysis Of Andrew Murray 's With Christ And The Joy Of... In Andrew Murray's With Christ in the School of Prayer, it is proposed from the words of John (1 John 2:12–14) that, "In the Christian life there are three great stages of experience: the first is that of the new–born child filled with the assurance and the joy of forgiveness, the second is that of transition, of struggle and growth in knowledge and strength, and is comparable to young men growing strong, and the final stage of maturity and ripeness is that of the Fathers, who have entered deeply into the knowledge and fellowship of the Eternal One." These stages suggest progression and development over a period of time in the life of a Christian. To better understand the manner in which development occurs in the Christian life it is necessary to address the subject of progressive sanctification. I will expound upon this subject through an explanation of the meaning of progressive sanctification, how it is manifested in the local church, what the Bible says about moving from spiritual infancy to maturity, and the role of discipleship in the process. According to the Oxford American Dictionary, the words progressive and sanctification together implies the gradual development of being set apart and made holy. In order to gain a better understanding and appreciation of this development it is important to understand its origin and nature. First of all, when a person is born of the spirit upon the confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior followed by baptism, he is set ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Examine the main characteristics of both visions and conversion experiences [30 marks] Visions and conversions are both a type of religious experience– it's a subjective experience where an individual reports contact with a supernatural reality, an encounter or union with the divine, Religious experiences are preoccupied by extraordinary psychological state and no one can give real evidence about it. According to William James, a 20th century philosopher; every religious experience has four characteristics. Ineffability, meaning that these experiences can't be expressed or it is challenging to express them; people often gain an insight or they learn something from the experience of how to carry on with their life. Transiency,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An intellectual vision causes the person to become aware of an abstract concept such as the 'grace of God'– a numinous experience. These are often followed by a sense of inner peace or a call toward religious life. A conversion experience is one in which the 'goal' is to change one set of beliefs. This process is called a double action; this is because one must turn away from a previous lifestyle and turn to a new state of being. The development of conversion can be a sudden experience or a gradual one and the end result is usually a greater understanding of faith. People may convert for several reasons; It may be about years of searching for a spiritual home, or about a moment of inspiration that has caught them by surprise; sometimes it involves the pain of breaking away from a previous path, a sense of loneliness and wrestling with doubt. Some may say that a conversion takes place when one's identity is perceived to be inadequate and so they move to being in a state when adequacy is met, and the knew life they start is a holy one. There are four main stages identified which can lead to a conversion experience; a prior interest in religious questions and other related issues, the influence of other cases of conversion, a situation which may involve physical and emotional upset, and the moment of conversion which brings about a radical change in feeling and outlook of the persons life. • 32. Feminist Spirituality and Goddess Religion in the United... Thousands of years ago, the Goddess was viewed as an autonomous entity worthy of respect from men and women alike. Because of societal changes caused by Eastern influence, a patriarchical system conquered all aspects of life including religion. Today, the loss of a strong female presence in Judeo–Christian beliefs has prompted believers to look to other sources that celebrate the role of women. Goddess religion and feminist spirituality have increasingly been embraced by men and women as an alternative to the patriarchy found in traditional biblical religion. Within a few thousand years the first recognizable human society developed worship of the Great Goddess or Great Mother. For these people, deity was female. The importance... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It has been referred to as "eco–feminism" to reflect this increased emphasis. This stems from the Wiccan ideology that people have a unique responsibility toward the environment because of our ability to make conscious choices (Corbett 292). Goddess worship broadened to include African, Asian, and Native American ideals beyond the classic Wiccan deities. It became"politically correct" by beginning to include gays and lesbians (formerly neglected with the emphasis on male–female fertility) as well as the ecological movement and an openness to people of color and other minorities. Now considered the fastest growing religion in America by some scholars, neo–Pagans were represented at the World Council of Religions in 1993. Despite the spread of feminist and goddess belief, many witches still face discrimination because of their faith. People outside the neo–Pagan community still often confuse Wicca with Satanism, feeling that witchcraft is not a valid religion and should not be afforded the same protections as more 'mainstream', consensus religions. However, Wicca and other goddess religions are not Satanistic. Satanism focuses on the Christian idea of the devil, whereas these spiritualities predate Christianity and have no link to those beliefs (Corbett 292). Another common misconception is that witches cast spells in order to hurtothers for their own or someone else's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Religion And Spirituality On The United States Of America... Religion and spirituality have been complex issues in the United States of America. This is especially true when it comes to Native Americans. Since the 16th century, contact between Native Americans and Europeans has been filled with both good and bad. In this paper, the issue of religion and spirituality and how they figure into the story of Indian–European contact between the 16th and 21st centuries will be discussed. The people of the Eastern Woodlands held beliefs about the human, natural, and supernatural worlds. The people believed that there was no line between the human and natural worlds. In some languages, animals were referred to as people. Humans were referred to as "extra" people, or people people. They also believed there was no line between the natural and supernatural worlds. They also had in their beliefs the idea of manitou. Manitou roughly translates to "spirit" in English. They believed there was manitou in everything in the human, natural, and supernatural worlds. They believed there was power in the natural world itself. In a reading done in class, "Farmers of the Woodlands," written by Peter Nabokov and Dean Snow, there is discussion of the religious and spiritual beliefs of the people who lived in the Eastern Woodlands. For the Penobscot bands, they had the spiritual belief of totems. These totems were animals. They believed the totems were the ancestors to the people of the band. These totems linked them to the lands they lived, hunted, and fished ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Spiritual Life & Beliefs SPIRITUAL LIFE AND BELIEFS I do not really have a defining moment in my life where everything changed and gave up drugs and drinking and turned towards God. However, I do have a moment where I turned to him but it isn't big and grand. Sometimes I wish this was different, sometimes I wish I had some big grand story but then again. I have been immersed in God's life for all my entire life and I can't complain about that. I was born in a very spiritual family with parents who had very clear and strict rules when it came to church. After I was born, as soon as I was able to recognize my surroundings I was in church. I remember a few instances when I received some spanking for trying to lie my way out of going for Sunday school. However later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I became more mature and more in touch with my spirituality, the area of spiritual gifts became of great interest to me. The thought that the different areas of effectiveness and skills are from God is interesting. I grew up with the teaching that we had God given abilities but I had never equated these with spiritual gifts. To me they were just skills that we had been born with and I felt that our genetics and social conditioning had more to do with these gifts than the Holy Spirit do since there were non–Christians who exhibited the same abilities and gifts as Christians. It took a lot of reasoning and realization for me to understand that despite both us having similar gifts, the spiritual and Holy Spirit manifestation in me as a Christian allows me to use my gifts in accordance to what God intended me to. Many Christians today are racing through life with the same attitude I had, they know it all and there's nothing you can tell them which they don't already know. Despite the fact that I don't know what will happen when the time for testing comes. When I have to make a sacrifice and pay the cost of staying faithful to God, it might suddenly turn out that all along my desire to serve God wasn't the greatest desire of my life and that I might betray it to get something else that I want. What I know is I wake up every day praying to God to give me strength to do what is right and to live according to his word and in the process if I'm able to influence even a ... I, being a catholic have the strong faith that every human being is of body, soul and mind. The Environment, Bell Hooks, and Feminist Spirituality The Environment: The environment is constantly being sacrificed for food production, toxic dumps, wood distribution, military testing, and other things such as these. And as usual, the root lies in profit. The corporations can't afford to be concerned with the future well being of the earth and it's dwellers. Also, environmental pollution can be connected to racism and classism because it is the poor communities that are used for toxic dumps and prisons, and it's the poor people who work in the factories that require having contact with harmful chemicals and technologies, and generally the poor communities consist of people of color. Why would anyone be so heartless to put a toxic dump next to an elementary school, make excuses, "little boys rupture their kidneys playing football, not because they are exposed to chemicals", keep it in secrecy, "The staff was instructed not to tell the parents", and down right lie about it while children are deathly ill? "We had foam in the community which they kept telling us was agricultural foam." Why? I can't comprehend this. I have often heard the excuse that it would cost too much for cooperations to clean up after themselves, that the expenditure would lead to extensive layoffs, and would be detrimental to the economy of the corporation. In a way I could understand how this could be true and didn't see a solution to the problem. I thought that it was either/or; one thing or the other. On page 297 it says that "An alliance between environmentalists and labor organizers is essential. People need a livelihood as well as good environmental conditions, and the two are not mutually exclusive." Exclusivity is a boundary that I think we all need to cross. How often have we asked that question? "Almost too many to count," we reprimand ourselves. We look for reasons why we aren 't heard by God. He might be merely a figment of my childhood imagination like the tooth fairy.

  • 39. A Discussion On Alcoholics Anonymous Alcoholics Anonymous is one of the most widely known and used 12 step groups, it was found in 1935 by two men who wanted to share and support those who wanted to become sober. Currently I am in California so I had to search for a meeting here and I was able to find a 12 step meeting at a local church that took place in the morning. My thoughts before the meeting were interested as well as nervous. I never went to one of these meetings nor do I know what one is about. Im not to sure what AA entails so I was interested in learning about it. Currently my boyfriends father is a recovering alcoholic so going to this made me think of him and I believe may help me understand him, his thought, and his feelings a little better. Before the meeting I began to read that AA does not discriminate including to those with other addictions, but closed meetings are specifically for those battling addicting to alcohol (Capuzzi & Stauffer, 2012). When I arrived they had coffee and refreshments open to anyone which i found thoughtful and a good way to get people talking. I saw mainly people with families there who seemed to be going for support. I was still a little apprehensive going by myself as a student and at the time did not feel open to sharing. A man came to the front and stated he is the speaker for this meeting and welcomed us to an open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. The meeting began with a moment of silence for those who are sick and a prayer. After the prayer the speaker spoke ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of these so called religions would be Christianity including the Roman Catholic Church, Protestants, European Religions and also Judaism who thought of as god being male i.e. Jesus. Goddess worship was gradually combined with worship of male Gods to produce a variety of Pagan religions, thus losing some of its singular focus on the female as a deity. Goddess Worship during the Christian era was molded by more dominant outside forces. As Judaism, Christianity & eventually Islam evolved, the Pagan religions were suppressed and the female principle was gradually driven out of religion. Consequently women were reduced to a level inferior to men. The God, King, Priest & Father replaced the Goddess, Queen, Priestess & Mother (Miles 24). A woman's testimony was not considered significant in courts, women were not allowed to speak in churches, and positions of authority in the church were (almost without exception) limited to men. A feminine presence was added to Christianity when the Virgin Mary was named Theotokos (Mother of God). However, her role was heavily restricted and included none of the fertility components present in Pagan religions. A low point in the life of women was reached during the Renaissance, when hundreds of thousands of suspected female witches were exterminated being burned and hanged. At the turn of the century, scholars began writing about a "Mother Goddess". By the 1950s, Gerald Gardner ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
