How Did Christianity Dominate Germany
Many different parts of the country cultures tends to have different religious beliefs in certain areas
of their lifestyle. Religiously, Christianity dominates Germany today as it has for several centuries
(Religion in Germany,pg.1). Roman Catholicism is still numerically and culturally significant in
Germany. In the 16th century, the nation was the heartbeat of the Protestant Reformation, which was
led by native German, Martin Luther (Religion in Germany,pg.1). According to _________ about
65% to 70% of the population are followers of the Christian religion in Germany. In Germany most
areas in the South or West especially Bavaria and Northrhine–Westphalia are Catholic while the
North and East are mainly Protestant (____). Apart from these smaller

Mexico City Dominates The Whole Country 's Economy
Mexico City dominates the whole country's economy. The Federal District of Mexico City produces
a significant portion of the total GDP of the country, for example, 12 percent in the year 1998.
Mexico City is the center of manufacturing, and contains about 45 percent of the nation 's industrial
production. Manufactures include textiles, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, electrical and electronic
items, steel, and transportation equipment. In addition, foodstuffs and light consumer goods are
produced. The city is also important in Mexico 's banking and finance industries (Mexico City
2001b).
Since 1950 the population growth in Mexico City has been rapid. The city grew 4.2 percent a year,

The rest of the population is born in the Federal District, either as sons or daughters of rural
migrants, or they are inhabitants of the small towns, which are now part of the southern residential
area of the city. About 70 percent of the migrants moved with they families and the rest, 30 per cent,
were single (Avila 2001).
The primary push factors for people in Mexico are lack of arable land, land deterioration and
diminution of the land area per farmer.
Land in Mexico City is being urbanized in a fast speed and at the moment Mexico City surrounds 20
per cent of the inhabitants in Mexico. The urban inhabitants in the city is still growing due to
immigration and natural growth. During 1950 to1970 the large fragment of the city's inhabitant's
development was produced by rural migration. The reason for this migration was industrial
development and necessity for workers in the city. Since 1980 the populace advance has been
growing both by immigration and natural increase (Avila 2001, DESIPAPD 1995)
Shortage of acceptable housing has long been a difficult in Mexico City, although the condition is

To What Extent Did The Europeans Dominate African Nations
What urged the Europeans to dominate African nations? Before the 19th century, Europeans feared
entering Africa due to disease, such as malaria, until they invented a cure in 1820. Improved
technology allowed them to venture into the country and investigate. An abundant of factors
promoted the extensive endeavor. Politics, cultural attitudes, and economics drove the European
forces to invade Africa.
In the world of politics, it was a crucially intense race for the control of African nations between
European countries. In the Berlin conference, each country was ambitious to authorize as much
territory as possible. Therefore this spiked the cause of fierce competition over areas. In the map
partition of Africa, Britain and France were the most

How Did The Republicans Dominate Politics In The 1920's
The republicans un–doubly dominated the political system in the 1920's. The republicans had 3
presidents elected in the 1920's. These three presidents were Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge,
and Herbert Hoover. Warren G. Harding as stated in the book used clever tactics to appeal to the
people using these, they also made use of advertising to its fullest extent. "While the Democrats ran
an ineffective campaign, the republicans made excellent use of advertising. Of the People pg.676" It
was also stated in the book that Harding feed off the negative reaction on the activist government

The Paradox of Dominate Ideologies in the Fight of Social...
Art is used in mass media to influence people, especially people in the generation and culture we
live in today. The majority of art young people receive in our culture is through television and in
particularly popular culture networks, like MTV. The television show on MTV called The Hills is an
example of a show that promotes dominant ideology to young children/ teenagers. Slightly opposite
of that would be another show on MTV called Jersey Shore, which is an example of a show that
partly reinforces and partly challenges dominant ideology to the same type of audience. The two
shows are looking at people who are in their 20s and there life as they live it in their current
situation, they both claim to be reality television with no scripts. ... Show more content on

While watching the two shows there are many differences, however one major thing that stood out
to me while I was watching was the differences of food and quantity. Within The Hills there is
almost never times where we see the cast members eating a meal, if we do see them at a restaurant
they are drinking but never eating. In the rare few times that we do see food at the table we hardly
ever see them eat, and the food that is placed in front of them are small portions of salads or other
healthy substances of food. There is differences between in the food that the males of the show eat
and the females eat, again on the rare times that food is involved the women are seen to have the
salads where the men are seen to have meat substance of food, however, both still falling on the
relatively small size portions of food. Women's relationship with food is always different then men's
because women are seen to need less food, and seen to need to diet. Men need more food not only
because they are seen as 'bigger' but also because in order from them to diet/ gain muscle they need
to eat lots of protein for working out. Women are also seduced into losing weight also with
implications that come with it through the media we have. Many of the advertisements we see
focused on women lately deal with the issue of women losing weight, getting fit, and looking like
there favourite celebrity. "Admittedly, women are continually bombarded with advertisements

Gender Reflection Paper
Gender As a child, I never saw being a female as a detriment and yet now I realize that it was such
an obsticle. However that apparent detriment has not shaped my identity, but rather my triumphs
over what people perceived that I could or could not do has molded me to be the person I am today.
I was encouraged by both parents to do whatever I wanted, and yet I recognize how my own father
treated me differently because I was a girl. There were many things that I was never taught how to
do because they were not tasks for females in his mind. Things such as using a lawn mower, a weed
whacker, and even working with some power tools were skills that I was never given the
opportunity to learn. On top of this, he has stated that it drives him crazy that I walk around bare
footed when I garden and do not wear gloves and end up with dirt under my nails. I have been told
that I should "act more like a lady". Looking back I now believe that there were certain stereotypes
that he applied to me and that I was expected to fulfill. There were also things that he would not
teach me because they weren't " lady like". This could be due to the fact that "Males receive an
incomplete education because they (not to mention their female peers0 learn little about women
their schooling." (Nieto p. 49) If women are never presented in curriculum in a positive and

Television and Newspapers Dominate the Media in India
India continues to be dominated by traditional media outlets such as television, print and radio.
More specifically, television and newspapers account for over 80% of the advertising revenue
currently. Projected estimates is that in 2013 is that the media and entertainment industry is expected
to grow 11.8 % to $14.79 billion. Ideally, we would like to introduce Full Throttle through the
conventional media avenues of television and print. Advertising in our age demographic target here
would tend to lean more heavily on television and shows geared for ages of 18–35. As we have
looked at in previous papers, the access and growth of the internet in India is something we must be

above promotion methods. Sampling is one that is expensive but still relatively appealing due to our
ability to target our key age demographic in specific locations like schools, concerts, malls and
supermarkets (Business, 2014). As we have explored in our previous paper, middlemen play a key
role in affecting pricing strategies and the markups that come along with them. In India, up to 6
different middlemen may touch the product before it makes it way to the final step of consumer.
Due to a number of intermediaries involved in the traditional Indian retail chain, pricing lacks
transparency. We do have, to our benefit, historical pricing of similar products in India as a
barometer to use when looking at a potential price for our market. Current soft drink pricing of a
half–liter bottle is Rs 25–30. Brands like Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Coke are key players in this
space. This number represents a final markup of 20 – 30% depending on retailer. This number has
been on the gradual rise with inflation and the increase of transportation and energy costs. The
pricing strategy for that of energy drinks is much steeper but has many similarities to the soft drink
industry as it is sold in similar locations, usually purchased in individual containers, etc. Currently,

Why Did The Ming Dynasty Dominate The World

Despite the great achievements of the Ming Dynasty, why did China fail to dominate the world?
History is full of unpredictable incidences, instability and uncertainties. It is quite difficult to foretell
the condition of our world's economic, social and political affairs for the upcoming decade.
Anything and everything is possible. A perfect example of such an occurrence is the inability of
China to dominate the world. What was it that led to China's descent and its declining grip over
achieving world dominance? What was it that led to Europe's supremacy over the world? Any

How were the people convinced so thoroughly about China becoming the "world–ruler"? The Ming
dynasty, reigning from 1368 to 1644, is one of the greatest empires in the history of China. It was
the time when China had reached its pinnacle of glory by developing the most advanced navigation
technologies, largest and the most powerful military system, defence mechanisms, warfare tactics,
improving trade as well as social relations with the western world by cultural and material
exchanges such as books, literature, silk and porcelain. It was China who invented the paper–
making methods, gunpowder, compasses and printing technique. These inventions preceded the
development of science and technology to its peak. It was only then that the western world
acquainted itself to such advancements. The Great Wall of China is a marvellous architecture,
completed in the Ming dynasty, which protected China from its northern invaders, especially the
Mongols. Other such constructions include the Forbidden City and the restoration of the Grand
Canal. Zheng He, during the Ming dynasty, set out on voyages with 7000 fleets to explore trade and
set Chinese sovereignty in the minds of the outside world. Invasions on China were very difficult, so
thinking about conquering it was simply out of the question. The fall of the Ming dynasty was due
to a lot of internal conflicts, natural disasters, monetary crisis

‘Federal Government Increasingly Dominates State...
A2 politics Jess Waldron
'Federal government increasingly dominates state governments in the USA.' Discuss
The United States of America have a federal constitution, where the President of the United States,
Congress, and the judiciary share powers, and the federal government shares sovereignty with the
state governments. This is the stark opposite to the unitary system in the UK where sovereignty lies
in parliament and some powers are given to local assemblies. There are many types of federalism;
all have been a dominant influence in the American political system at some point due to the style of
leadership brought in by each new presidential candidate. Throughout U.S. history, the division of
power between the federal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Federalism is a dual (split in two) system of sovereignty, splitting power between a central
government and various state governments. Both the federal and state governments can directly
govern citizens through their own officials and laws. The resulting Constitution allowed powers for
both federal and state governments. Each had some separate powers and some shared powers.
A federalist called John Marshall, as Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, made decisions
favoring a strong federal government over state government power. In Marbury v. Madison (1803)
Marshall used judicial review (where the Court is the government body to decide whether laws are
constitutional), this was used in accordance with the principles and power established by the
Constitution. By the late 1930s, the Great Depression resulted in a dramatic change. The idea of
federalism and Marshall's earlier positions returned. In West Coast Hotel Co. v. Parrish (1937) the
Court extended federal power to regulate some economic activities within states. Under a broadened
Commerce Clause interpretation, federal powers expanded at the expense of state powers and
emphasis on the Tenth Amendment declined. The Court in NLRB v. United States (1936) reaffirmed
the Wagner Act which brought labor relations under federal oversight. In addition, the Social
Security Act creating a national retirement fund, passed in 1935.

How Did Hannibal Dominate The Roman Army
Hannibal Barca was a man bred for war. His ability to command a battlefield was unmatched during
his day. During the Second Punic War, Hannibal led the Carthaginian army against the Roman
Republic. He would march through Italy destroying the Roman legions battle after battle. His
victories at Trebia and Trasimene were just preludes to the massacre that he would conduct in
Southern Italy, at the Battle of Cannae. Rome had the best military of its time. They troops were
drafted each year and any land owning citizen could be picked. Every man was trained in the art of
war, to be ruthless and efficient on the battlefield. They were trained with pilum and gladus to kill
their enemies. They fought in what is known has a Maniple Legion. Maniples were the small
formations that made up the bigger battle lines. These smaller organizations trained together and
became a coherent part of the Roman lines. The Roman camps were laid out so that the Maniples
camped in the same order that they line for battle. And this powerhouse of a military had to main ...

backing away. This lured the Romans to focus directly on the center. While the Carthaginian center

The Romans were crushed and Hannibal had shown his superiority. Extra troops were added during
the battle of Cannae to attempt to curtail Hannibal's conquests, but all was for naught, as Hannibal

How Does Separation Of Powers Dominate Parliament
The British uncodified constitution is not a single document but is comprised of several discrete
bills. The constitution is essentially a set of the 'Most Important Rules' with the primary purpose of
regulating how the nation should be run. It additionally grants power to the law–maker, which is
Parliament (House of Commons, House of Lords, and the Monarch).
This essay will explore the extent of legislative power Parliament holds, specifically examining the
concept of Parliamentary sovereignty, the separation of powers and Dicey's rule of law. However,

Since, Devolution has led to a persistent demand for the transfer of more legislative power to
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, thwarting the flexibility and function of Westminster's
Parliament. It is most useful to discuss the Scotland act because the Scottish Parliament has the
greatest delegated power including the power to pass primary legislation. Lord Cooper argues that
Parliamentary Sovereignty is not a principle that exists in the Scottish Parliament. It is a statutory
rule that where a subject matter has been devolved to another Parliament or is not a 'reserved matter'
such as education and health, then Westminster cannot usually legislate on that matter in the absence
of 'consent of the Scottish Parliament'. The Sewel convention makes that clear and suggests how
devolved matters could limit Westminster, however in the Scotland act it is stated that this will not
affect Parliament's legislative powers. In addition, 'Ministerial appointments' in Scotland still need
approval by the Queen in Parliament. Possibly showing how the Westminster still upholds
supremacy on Scottish decisions. Also in theory, Westminster could legislate in areas of devolved
competence, contrary to the wishes of the Scottish parliament, although it rarely would. If
Westminster wanted to repeal the Scotland act 1998 and abolish the Scottish Parliament to reclaim
delegated powers, it could through its unlimited legislative powers. Since the Scotland act is just an
ordinary act that Parliament has the power to repeal like any other law, even if people argue that this
act possess 'extra validity'. Similarly Westminster could legislate to prohibit Scottish MP's from
voting on legislation relating only to England as the West Lothian question challenged. Overall,
Devolution does not represent a challenge to the doctrine of Parliamentary

Going into this class, I was quite unsure what it looked like from the mentor prospective. As a
freshman, I took this class in the fall and enjoyed it. I knew I wanted our freshmen to enjoy the class
and gain a sense of belonging on this campus through our many resources. Another goal was for me
to strive to become a better leader and learn how to work with another leader. At this point at the
middle of the semester, it is nice to be able to reflect on the goals for our freshmen along with how
Avery and I have been working together and learning from each other. Avery and I have worked to
reach the goals for our freshman group by allowing them to have opportunities to learn from each

one another, one begins to think harder and more thoroughly, and that is something I personally
have wanted our freshman to do. We have given them plenty of opportunities to be able to achieve
this by emphasizing contributing to the discussion. Yes, it is important for them to realize that

Difference Between Dominate And Recessive Genes
What is the difference between dominate and recessive genes?
Genes help determine the characteristics and traits consisting of: eye, skin, hair color, etc. Each gene
contains two alleles one coming from the mother and the other from the father, one being dominant
and the other recessive. The dominant allele is typically expressed, while the recessive are not
generally expressed. A dominant allele makes a pair with a recessive allele. The dominant allele
determines the traits visibly expressed as phenotypes the genetic code working behind a trait in
known as the genotype (Your Genome, 2016).
What is the difference between heterozygous and homozygous expression of genes?
The genetic material that determines the trait is known as the genotype, which at times it is said to
be homozygous (a person containing two recessive/two dominant alleles coming from both parents)
or heterozygous (a person having one recessive/one dominant allele from both parents). It is
typically common for a child to have brown eyes when one parent has a recessive allele and the
other a dominant allele allowing it to override the other. However, if both parents have brown eyes,
but contribute the recessive allele the child will have blue eyes. This is not always the case as
genetic inheritance is not always simple as we see some people having eyes that are green, one
brown, and one blue (CCCOE, 2016).

How Did Japan Dominate East Asia
Japan, located off the coast of East Asia, was a major country that fought during the Second World
War. During this time, Japan had an dictatorship government and had its sights on imperialistic
ideas. On December 7, 1941, Japanese airplanes flew over Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, the United States'
base of its navy, where the Pacific fleet and airfields were stationed. Bombs were dropped on the
island in Hawaii, causing mass destruction and high death tolls. With this, isolation and neutrality
were not an option, and the United States became deeply embroiled in World War II after declaring

According to Pearl Harbor and the Coming of the Pacific War, the Japanese completed its control in
Manchuria in 1932, then invaded China five years later. In the map created by various sources, the
Japanese empire more than tripled its size after expansion through Manchuria in China. Japan
established Manchuria as a puppet state, and held it as a reservoir for food resources, or a paddy
field. To support a larger empire, its growing military, and an increase in naval power, the Japanese
needed more and more oil. Unfortunately, Japan only owned a few oil reserves and produced very
little of its own oil. They bought most of their oil from the United States. In fact, according to
Suzuki Akira, "US Economic Sanctions Against Japan and its Aid to China during the Sino–
Japanese War", 80 percent of Japan's 12,170,000 tons of oil was imported from the United States
from 1937–1939. However, after tensions mounted between the United States and Japan, the
amount of oil exported from US to Japan decreased dramatically, from 2,910,000 tons in 1940 to
880,000 tons in 1941, a 330 percent decrease in oil imports from the US. Tensions continued rising
when Japan announced that they will establish "new order", or the Japanese Empire in East Asia.
The US showed their disprovement by declaring an "embargo of aircraft and aircraft parts" (Iriye
1999) in 1939, and a complete oil embargo in 1941, a resource the Japanese depended on the most.
Fortunately for the Japanese, there were an abundant amount of oil fields south of Japan, in the
Philippines, East Indies, and New Guinea, however, were all occupied by the European nations and
the United States. The Japanese declared that the " ... old order ... (European and American) ... is

Why Did The Americans Dominate The New World Essay
We are all aware of the fact that when the Europeans traveled to the New World, they conquered it.
This has been taught to us throughout our lives. However, there are many theories as to why the
Europeans dominated the New World. There may have been many factors that led to the fall of the
people living in the New World. Thus, I believe the main three reasons I received, alliance that was
formed, and disease that was contracted from the Europeans. I believe that fear is a very powerful
weapon. Therefore, when the omens of the Tlatelolco and Nahua communities started to become
true, it struck it in their hearts. There were a total of eight omens. The first omen started about ten
years before the Spaniards came over the New World. A couple of the omens are a tongue of fire in
the sky, the mountain name of Tlacetecc burned and flared, a temple struck by lightning, and a lake
boiling. The most important omen I believe is when Moteeuccoma seen the ash–colored crane the

Terror Dominates Our Perceptions Of The French Revolution
Terror dominates our perceptions of the french Revolution. Terror was a brief but deadly period
where Robespierre, the Committee of Public Safety and the Revolutionary Tribunals, condemned
thousands of people to die on the guillotine. The Reign of Terror was not driven by one man, one
body,or one policy; It was shape by different forces and factors. The Reign of Terror was certainly
the most violent period of the French Revolution. Between the years of 1793 and 1794 more than

Charming and Toxic Marijuana: Feminists Always Dominate the World
"As soon as a woman gets to an age where she has opinions and she is vital and strong. She is
systematically shamed into hiding under a rock". (Brain Quotes). Speaking of genders, men are
considered more advantageous than women. Dating back to ancient times, men traditionally were
determined more valuable over women based on the physical strengths and the capacity of
resistance of outside pressure. However, not reconciled to the situation, women were making great
efforts to enhance their positions and fortify their status in the society, which were beneficial for
their own developments. For instance, the first female monarch of ancient China, empress Wu,
ascended the throne in AD 630. Being admired and debated sharply, her ruling of the empire for
over fifty years has laid the foundation of feminism. Meanwhile, her appearance encouraged more
women to challenge the public prejudices instead of being the sweet sacrifices of the patriarchal
society. Not only in ancient China, also in other various cultures, women were fighting for their
rights but buried throughout human history. Defined as complex and sophisticated, women now are
performing indispensable roles in the family and society. Under the enormous effects of several
outstanding women, the opinion of that "the greatest responsibility for women is to give birth and
center the housework" vanished and gradually alternated to a brand new modern point of

Christianity Dominates American Society And Children Essay
Christianity dominates American society, and due to this any sort of religious rebellion is
automatically seen as hearsay and blasphemy that poisons our society and children. While in the
college setting we try to be more open to other ideas, people still look down on alternate religions as
the "wrong way." As for the Satanist church, they're seen as downright evil, certainly a popular
misconception in our culture. When LaVey started the Temple of Satan in the 1960's, he was poking
fun at our uptight Christian society (Urban, 170.) Modern LaVey Satanism is a mixture between
serious ritual and satire, resulting in a strange community and an even more passionate following.
Throughout our class, we have been learning about what makes a religion a religion, the people
involved, and the culture that relates to its very core. Satanism as a whole is partially religious, and
partially atheist. Nevertheless, this community is fighting for representation in the media, in schools,
and in the community as much as the next religion. Satanism is pushing against the dominant
religion, and in doing so, opening the floodgates for itself as well as other religious groups for their
right to religious freedoms in the United States. In my paper, I will discuss various branches of
Satanism, with a focus on the Satanic Temple's movement and it's fame and reception in today's
media. From a modern Christian perspective, Satan is a representation of worship of all things evil.
However, modern

Political Ideology
The Democratic and the Republican parties dominate American politics. They are both different in
their philosophies and ideals. Political parties win elections, operate the government, and determine
public policy. They compete with each other for support of the voters over issues that have to do
with the economy, national security and individual liberties. Political parties determine and make
the important choices that affect our everyday lives. Democratic is liberal and left–leaning, the
symbol is a donkey and the representing color is blue. Republican is conservative and right –
leaning, the symbol is an elephant and the representing color is red. The three political topics that
stick out to me the most are abortion, gun control, and gay rights/marriage. The Democratic Party
was founded on March 3rd, 1828. The founders of liberal democrats are Thomas Jefferson and
James Madison. They became recognized in the mid nineteenth century. Some popular current
democrats would be President Barack Hussein Obama, former senator and secretary of state Hillary
Clinton, and former president Bill Clinton. The word is a Greek origin meaning 'ruled by the
people." Slave activists founded Republicans on March 4th, 1854. Some popular republicans today
are Ted Cruz (senator), Orrin Grant Hatch, and John Boehner "speaker of the house of reps." The
word Republican originates from the middle French meaning " belonging to a republic." One

George Orwell's 1984-Language Dominates Society
Language Dominates Society People take the idea of thought for granted. When a person thinks they
use language to create an idea in the mind. A human cannot talk to another human and convey that
thought if there is no language. If the government, an organization, or an individual takes control of
the language they could systematically degrade communication and control people's thoughts. They
could take out words, combine words or change the meaning of them which is what happened in
1984. Several years ago when a person wanted to send a text message they had nine keys that
represented two or three letters. To type one word numerous clicks had to take place to achieve each
letter. As soon as people learned how to text they immediately shortened

Will Man Made Creations Dominate?
Will Man Made Creations Dominate? In the article "Toward an Intelligence Beyond Man's" Robert
Jastrow, a published writer and the first director of the National Aeronautic and Space
Administration's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, focuses on the idea that in order for mankind
to continue to grow in intelligence our life form may vary from the structure we know today,
resulting in artificial life, or in other terms, computers. Jastrow was involved in NASA and was able
to win many awards in his field such as the NASA Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal.
Jastrow writes his article as a prediction of what the twenty–first century artificial intelligence will
evolve into over the years. However, his prediction contains many faults and easily disagreeable
subject matter. Jastrow says computers have improved from basic math calculations to mastering the
art of imitations and will eventually rise as an emergent form of life. A major default that computers
do lack are the emotions that humans possess, but still are capable of outsmarting when motivated
and practiced to do so. Jastrow compares human brains to computer databases and says that unlike
humans, computers can obtain and process mass amount of information at once. He also says that
human brains have limited growing and improving left to do, while databases are going to improve
tenfold every eight years. Computers and humans will eventually pair up in order to work in
multiple categories of life; computers

How Did Europeans Want To Dominate Africa
Because it was a part of the old spice and trade routes between Europe and Asia, Egypt's border has
always been a convenient port for other countries to enter. Britishempire.co.uk stated, "Since the
beginning of time, trade links had existed between Egypt and Britain and that British traders had
been loading and unloading their ships there for generations" ("British"). This would be one of
many key factors as to why Europe would have wanted to dominate this country and those
surrounding it. Needing power and newfound resources, European nations became suspicious of this

colonies. Artificial borders along with combined or unnaturally divided groups created problems
that hurt African colonies during European rule. These boundaries continue to create problems for

With hardships, however, came upsides as well. Colonialism reduced local warfare. Humanitarian
efforts in some colonies improved hygiene and provided hospitals and schools. From these
advancements lifespans increased, literacy rates rose, and the economy took a huge step into
modernization. African products became valuable on the international market. To help boost
economic growth, railroads, dams, telephone and telegraph lines were built in African colonies;
nevertheless, Europeans benefitted from the resulting profit and equity that came from the drastic
improvements, not the actual citizens. ("The Age"

insurance market, the following core capabilities are required to be developed and enhanced:
a. Design constraints
This new organisational strategy requires a significant redesign of the business, due to the entire
value chain no longer being managed in house, this will result in a number of redundant roles with
both the leadership and lower level staff and the introduction of a new role for third party
partnerships management
Recommendation 1: Implement a functional structure aligned the value chain. A key
recommendation of this report is for a new functional structure to be introduced that is aligned to the

With a divisional structure, head of divisions have P&L responsibility for that line of business,
because of this they will often think about what best for their division and not pass on new
innovative ideas to other division, causing some divisions to lose pace
Divisional goals may take priority over overall organizational goals; team with each division will
likely focus on divisional goal instead of organisational goal, so if the two are perfectly aligned the
divisional may head in a different direction from the rest of the business.
This structure will have a number of benefits that will enable GI to achieve the recommended
positioning strategy. Benefit includes;
Specialization – Our staff within each function will become experts within their functional area
mean the time taken and complete activities will increase
Efficiency and Productivity – Our teams, who will become an expert in their functional area, will be
able to perform tasks with a high level of speed and efficiency, which enhances productivity and in
turn costs.
However this this structure is not without potential downsides which include
Lack of Teamwork, while specialized teams often perform with a high level of efficiency, they may
have difficulty working well with other teams. If a project calls for several teams to work together
they may be unwilling to cooperate and act in what maybe their own best interests instead of those
of the organisation as a whole.

Why Did The Spanish Dominate The Americas
In the year of 1492, the Spanish invaded the Americas, which had a contrary effect on the
indigenous people who were already settled there. Invasion is the act of entering a country while
bringing it down under domination or control, especially by conquest. By this definition, the
Spanish invaded the Americas because they dominated and controlled the religion, education,
economy and governance of the indigenous Americans. The Spanish cannot be considered to have
settled the Americas, because the act of settling is based on inhabiting a place where no people have
lived before. This is not true of the Americas, as the indigenous Americans, both the Aztecs and
Incas were already inhabiting continental North and South America since before the 1400s. ... Show

Before the Spanish arrived, the aztecs used a form of money called the Quachtli, or they bartered.
Agriculture and farming were important for them, as they used their large lands to produce foods for
the families, or they would set up markets to earn money for themselves. Due to the Spanish
arriving, their land was removed from them and their currency was confiscated. The encomienda
system was introduced giving the Aztec lands to the Spanish who arrived. They also introduced the
haciendas which was where members of the Spanish were sent to the Americas to spread
Catholicism in return for large lands. The haciendas were productive and the conquistadors gained
wealth as the gold and silver mines made Spain the wealthiest in Europe. The Golds were very
important to the Spanish as the Spanish described themselves as "Spaniards who suffer from a
disease that only Gold can cure'. This is implying to us that Gold made them cruel and ruthless and
that they are greedy, which is another reason in why the Spanish invaded. The Aztec and other
conquered indigenous societies were forced to work as slave labourers for the landholders on their
haciendas. The Aztecs and Incas were forced to build a new Spanish city on the site of Tenochtitlan
Mexico City and many indigenous people were forced into labour mines or on new building
programs while the Spanish introduced black

The Swiss are more thoughtful and create a community of trust and loyalty.
Like each state in the United States, the Swiss cantons have their own constitution, legislative,
executive, and judiciary branch. Patriotism and loyalty are established by military service.
According to the reference book, Culturgram, "every physically fit male serves in the Swiss Army.
They train on occasion and keep their gun and uniform at home–always ready to form a militia to
defend the country"(278).
When comparing and contrasting equality between the two countries, the citizens of both the United
States and Switzerland consider themselves equal. Both countries provide constitutions that
guarantee freedoms and liberties for their citizens. Freedom of religion is guaranteed in the first
amendant of the constitution in the United States. "In 1973, a referendum repealed articles of the
constitution of Switzerland that were responsible for banning the Jesuit order and the founding of
new religions houses, guaranteeing freedom of worship" (Bram 65).
When comparing and contrasting the dominant cultural pattern of materialism, I can only infer that
the Swiss citizens enjoy creature comforts just as much as the citizens of the United States. The
Swiss are known to be conservative and value thrift. The United States is credit orientated. We seem

The Loudest Duck By Laura A. Liswood
Throughout the book The Loudest Duck by Laura A. Liswood, we learn about what it means to be
truly diverse and how to obtain this diversity. The book gives many examples of how and why it is
important for companies to be diverse. Through this paper I will be outlining the main points the
other made and share some of the lessons I feel are important.
The first few chapters outline the main problems with diversity that business deal with. While the
rest of the book goes deeper in to the issues and ways to overcome or avoid the problems to create a
truly diverse institute. The author gives background into the Noah's Ark theory as well as the
"grandma" effect. She also talks about the dynamics of dominate and non–dominate groups in the
work place as she relates them to the Elephant and Mouse theory.
The first theory the book looks at is the Noah's Ark theory. The author explains that organizations
often try to become diverse using the Noah's ark model which simply means they try to have one or
more employees that meets each of the minorities. That is, they hire men women and people of color
rather than just hiring the people who are most like them.
This raises more problems than it solves because people are being hired for who they are rather than
the skills that they possess. In this type of situation people who are more qualified for a job may be
pushed aside in order to hire someone who meets the company's diversity needs. Instead of
following this Noah's Ark model

Who Trumps Nature Or Nurture?
Nature is much different than nurture in many aspects. Nature is connected through your genes and
is shown through your parents into you. Nurture is much different; the people that you hangout with
or even are around all the time and shapes who you are is what nurture is. The debate on which is
more of who you are is what everyone is talking about, but the decision should be easy. Nurture
shows and makes who you are more than nature. Here are a few reasons why nature has a little bit to
do with your personality. Some of what your parent have you have and will make up some of what
you are. The genes in your body created from your parents can make you a certain way for a bit of
time. If your mother and father were both very outgoing, there is a chance that you will be too when
you are old enough to speak and communicating, but that isn't always the case. When you are born,
you are what your parents made you, but it changes as you get older and see other people around
you.
Some kids don't hang around people outside of their home so it makes it seem as though nature
would be the dominate trait for personality, but if they hang around others outside of their home,
there is a chance that they will inherit the traits from people surrounding him or her. Not only ...

Essay on Napoleon's Failure to Dominate Europe
Napoleon's Failure to Dominate Europe
A ruler's reputation comes from the change that he inflicts upon his subjects, territory, and
surrounding lands. Napoleon Bonaparte rose into power during the French Revolution, causing
drastic changes not only to France, but to the rest of Europe as well. His domestic and foreign
policies were not always successful, but his ability to rule was undeniable. From his rising in power
and reform of France, up until his military defeat in Russia, Napoleon succeeded in gaining a
considerate amount of power and control.
In France, Napoleon used his power to make many reforms in all aspects of life. He incorporated a

Also, the Civil Code limited some of the rights of women. Divorce was made more difficult for
them, and after marriage, the husband had control of their property. "In lawsuits, they were treated
as minors, and their testimony was regarded as less reliable than that of men." (World History 641)
Also, there were "limitations on personal freedom" such as "press censorship, the use of spies, and
the imprisonment of extremists." (Modern Times 58) "In his domestic policies...Napoleon both
destroyed and preserved aspects of the revolution. Even so, it appears that "for the time being,"
Napoleon kept the people "fairly well satisfied." (Modern Times 58)
Napoleon accomplished much during his era. "The name Napoleon recalls to mind great battles
won, mighty countries humbled, and the near establishment of a union of all Europe under the
supreme leadership of Napoleonic France." (Modern Times 59) But "as others had discovered
before him...no nation can rule Europe for long." (The World in 1800 p89) Later came his ultimate
downfall– the Russian Campaign in 1812.
While the Continental System was enforced, Russia was an ally of France, so Napoleon expected
Russia to support the "anti–British blockade policy." (Modern Times 62) Later, when he found that
Alexander I of Russia "opened Russian ports to British commerce," (Modern Times 65) Napoleon
wanted to punish him because other countries might follow Russia's act.

Why Do Two Parties Dominate American Politics
Topic: Explain why two parties dominate the history of American politics
Political Parties in the United States are mostly dominated by a two party system. However, the
United States Constitution has always been silent on the issue of political parties; at the time it was
signed in 1787, there were no parties in the nation. At that time, no nation in the world had voter–
based political parties. The need to win popular support in a republic became popular to the
American people. This led to the invention of voter–based political parties in the 1790s (1).
Americans were especially innovative in devising new campaign techniques that linked public
opinion with public policy through the party they supported.
The modern two–party system consists of the Democratic Party and the Republican. Over the years,

Due to the development of these two major parties, it awards seats in Congress and the presidency,
by the votes of the people. These votes are not popular votes. These votes are determined by the
Electoral College. Candidates running for Congress need only to get a plurality of the vote to be
elected. In short, the presidential candidate needs to win the individual state's electoral votes. Here's
how the Electoral College works. Each state is assigned a number of electoral votes, based on the
size of its population. The 538 electoral votes are chosen by the political parties in each state. A
candidate needs 270 electoral votes to become President. If no candidate gets a majority of electoral
votes, members of the House of Representatives choose the President. In 48 states, the winner of the
popular vote (the votes cast by citizens) gets all of the state's electoral votes. The way in which
presidents are elected are state by state, as long as they win a plurality of the vote in that state

About 70 percent of the migrants moved with they families and the rest, 30 per cent, were single (Avila 2001). The primary push factors for people in Mexico are lack of arable land, land deterioration and diminution of the land area per farmer. Land in Mexico City is being urbanized in a fast speed and at the moment Mexico City surrounds 20 per cent of the inhabitants in Mexico. • 3. To What Extent Did The Europeans Dominate African Nations What urged the Europeans to dominate African nations? Before the 19th century, Europeans feared entering Africa due to disease, such as malaria, until they invented a cure in 1820. Improved technology allowed them to venture into the country and investigate. An abundant of factors promoted the extensive endeavor. Politics, cultural attitudes, and economics drove the European forces to invade Africa. In the world of politics, it was a crucially intense race for the control of African nations between European countries. In the Berlin conference, each country was ambitious to authorize as much territory as possible. Therefore this spiked the cause of fierce competition over areas. These three presidents were Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, and Herbert Hoover. Warren G. Harding as stated in the book used clever tactics to appeal to the people using these, they also made use of advertising to its fullest extent. "While the Democrats ran an ineffective campaign, the republicans made excellent use of advertising. Of the People pg.676" It was also stated in the book that Harding feed off the negative reaction on the activist government implemented by Woodrow Wilson. • 5. The Paradox of Dominate Ideologies in the Fight of Social... Art is used in mass media to influence people, especially people in the generation and culture we live in today. The majority of art young people receive in our culture is through television and in particularly popular culture networks, like MTV. The television show on MTV called The Hills is an example of a show that promotes dominant ideology to young children/ teenagers. Slightly opposite of that would be another show on MTV called Jersey Shore, which is an example of a show that partly reinforces and partly challenges dominant ideology to the same type of audience. The two shows are looking at people who are in their 20s and there life as they live it in their current situation, they both claim to be reality television with no scripts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While watching the two shows there are many differences, however one major thing that stood out to me while I was watching was the differences of food and quantity. Within The Hills there is almost never times where we see the cast members eating a meal, if we do see them at a restaurant they are drinking but never eating. In the rare few times that we do see food at the table we hardly ever see them eat, and the food that is placed in front of them are small portions of salads or other healthy substances of food. There is differences between in the food that the males of the show eat and the females eat, again on the rare times that food is involved the women are seen to have the salads where the men are seen to have meat substance of food, however, both still falling on the relatively small size portions of food. Women's relationship with food is always different then men's because women are seen to need less food, and seen to need to diet. Men need more food not only because they are seen as 'bigger' but also because in order from them to diet/ gain muscle they need to eat lots of protein for working out. Women are also seduced into losing weight also with implications that come with it through the media we have. Many of the advertisements we see focused on women lately deal with the issue of women losing weight, getting fit, and looking like there favourite celebrity. "Admittedly, women are continually bombarded with advertisements ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Gender Reflection Paper Gender As a child, I never saw being a female as a detriment and yet now I realize that it was such an obsticle. However that apparent detriment has not shaped my identity, but rather my triumphs over what people perceived that I could or could not do has molded me to be the person I am today. I was encouraged by both parents to do whatever I wanted, and yet I recognize how my own father treated me differently because I was a girl. There were many things that I was never taught how to do because they were not tasks for females in his mind. Things such as using a lawn mower, a weed whacker, and even working with some power tools were skills that I was never given the opportunity to learn. On top of this, he has stated that it drives him crazy that I walk around bare footed when I garden and do not wear gloves and end up with dirt under my nails. I have been told that I should "act more like a lady". Looking back I now believe that there were certain stereotypes that he applied to me and that I was expected to fulfill. There were also things that he would not teach me because they weren't " lady like". This could be due to the fact that "Males receive an incomplete education because they (not to mention their female peers0 learn little about women their schooling." (Nieto p. 49) If women are never presented in curriculum in a positive and contributing light, then it truly becomes a man's world filled with their own one–sided notions. • 7. Television and Newspapers Dominate the Media in India India continues to be dominated by traditional media outlets such as television, print and radio. More specifically, television and newspapers account for over 80% of the advertising revenue currently. Projected estimates is that in 2013 is that the media and entertainment industry is expected to grow 11.8 % to $14.79 billion. Ideally, we would like to introduce Full Throttle through the conventional media avenues of television and print. Advertising in our age demographic target here would tend to lean more heavily on television and shows geared for ages of 18–35. Sampling is one that is expensive but still relatively appealing due to our ability to target our key age demographic in specific locations like schools, concerts, malls and supermarkets (Business, 2014). As we have explored in our previous paper, middlemen play a key role in affecting pricing strategies and the markups that come along with them. In India, up to 6 different middlemen may touch the product before it makes it way to the final step of consumer. Due to a number of intermediaries involved in the traditional Indian retail chain, pricing lacks transparency. We do have, to our benefit, historical pricing of similar products in India as a barometer to use when looking at a potential price for our market. Current soft drink pricing of a half–liter bottle is Rs 25–30. Brands like Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Coke are key players in this space. This number represents a final markup of 20 – 30% depending on retailer. This number has been on the gradual rise with inflation and the increase of transportation and energy costs. The pricing strategy for that of energy drinks is much steeper but has many similarities to the soft drink industry as it is sold in similar locations, usually purchased in individual containers, etc. Currently, the most popular participants like Red Bull and ... History is full of unpredictable incidences, instability and uncertainties. It is quite difficult to foretell the condition of our world's economic, social and political affairs for the upcoming decade. Anything and everything is possible. How were the people convinced so thoroughly about China becoming the "world–ruler"? The Ming dynasty, reigning from 1368 to 1644, is one of the greatest empires in the history of China. It was the time when China had reached its pinnacle of glory by developing the most advanced navigation technologies, largest and the most powerful military system, defence mechanisms, warfare tactics, improving trade as well as social relations with the western world by cultural and material exchanges such as books, literature, silk and porcelain. It was China who invented the paper– making methods, gunpowder, compasses and printing technique. These inventions preceded the development of science and technology to its peak. It was only then that the western world acquainted itself to such advancements. The Great Wall of China is a marvellous architecture, completed in the Ming dynasty, which protected China from its northern invaders, especially the Mongols. Other such constructions include the Forbidden City and the restoration of the Grand Canal. Zheng He, during the Ming dynasty, set out on voyages with 7000 fleets to explore trade and set Chinese sovereignty in the minds of the outside world. Discuss The United States of America have a federal constitution, where the President of the United States, Congress, and the judiciary share powers, and the federal government shares sovereignty with the state governments. This is the stark opposite to the unitary system in the UK where sovereignty lies in parliament and some powers are given to local assemblies. There are many types of federalism; all have been a dominant influence in the American political system at some point due to the style of leadership brought in by each new presidential candidate. Throughout U.S. history, the division of power between the federal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Federalism is a dual (split in two) system of sovereignty, splitting power between a central government and various state governments. Both the federal and state governments can directly govern citizens through their own officials and laws. The resulting Constitution allowed powers for both federal and state governments. Each had some separate powers and some shared powers. A federalist called John Marshall, as Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, made decisions favoring a strong federal government over state government power. In Marbury v. Madison (1803) Marshall used judicial review (where the Court is the government body to decide whether laws are constitutional), this was used in accordance with the principles and power established by the Constitution. By the late 1930s, the Great Depression resulted in a dramatic change. The idea of federalism and Marshall's earlier positions returned. In West Coast Hotel Co. v. Parrish (1937) the Court extended federal power to regulate some economic activities within states. Under a broadened Commerce Clause interpretation, federal powers expanded at the expense of state powers and emphasis on the Tenth Amendment declined. The Court in NLRB v. United States (1936) reaffirmed the Wagner Act which brought labor relations under federal oversight. In addition, the Social Security Act creating a national retirement fund, passed in 1935. ... During the Second Punic War, Hannibal led the Carthaginian army against the Roman Republic. He would march through Italy destroying the Roman legions battle after battle. His victories at Trebia and Trasimene were just preludes to the massacre that he would conduct in Southern Italy, at the Battle of Cannae. Rome had the best military of its time. They troops were drafted each year and any land owning citizen could be picked. Every man was trained in the art of war, to be ruthless and efficient on the battlefield. They were trained with pilum and gladus to kill their enemies. They fought in what is known has a Maniple Legion. Maniples were the small formations that made up the bigger battle lines. The constitution is essentially a set of the 'Most Important Rules' with the primary purpose of regulating how the nation should be run. It additionally grants power to the law–maker, which is Parliament (House of Commons, House of Lords, and the Monarch). This essay will explore the extent of legislative power Parliament holds, specifically examining the concept of Parliamentary sovereignty, the separation of powers and Dicey's rule of law. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since, Devolution has led to a persistent demand for the transfer of more legislative power to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, thwarting the flexibility and function of Westminster's Parliament. It is most useful to discuss the Scotland act because the Scottish Parliament has the greatest delegated power including the power to pass primary legislation. Lord Cooper argues that Parliamentary Sovereignty is not a principle that exists in the Scottish Parliament. It is a statutory rule that where a subject matter has been devolved to another Parliament or is not a 'reserved matter' such as education and health, then Westminster cannot usually legislate on that matter in the absence of 'consent of the Scottish Parliament'. The Sewel convention makes that clear and suggests how devolved matters could limit Westminster, however in the Scotland act it is stated that this will not affect Parliament's legislative powers. In addition, 'Ministerial appointments' in Scotland still need approval by the Queen in Parliament. Possibly showing how the Westminster still upholds supremacy on Scottish decisions. Also in theory, Westminster could legislate in areas of devolved competence, contrary to the wishes of the Scottish parliament, although it rarely would. If Westminster wanted to repeal the Scotland act 1998 and abolish the Scottish Parliament to reclaim delegated powers, it could through its unlimited legislative powers. Since the Scotland act is just an ordinary act that Parliament has the power to repeal like any other law, even if people argue that this act possess 'extra validity'. Similarly Westminster could legislate to prohibit Scottish MP's from voting on legislation relating only to England as the West Lothian question challenged. I knew I wanted our freshmen to enjoy the class and gain a sense of belonging on this campus through our many resources. Another goal was for me to strive to become a better leader and learn how to work with another leader. At this point at the middle of the semester, it is nice to be able to reflect on the goals for our freshmen along with how Avery and I have been working together and learning from each other. Avery and I have worked to reach the goals for our freshman group by allowing them to have opportunities to learn from each other, grow at a student, and feel comfortable in our group here at the Capstone. By learning from one another, one begins to think harder and more thoroughly, and that is something I personally have wanted our freshman to do. We have given them plenty of opportunities to be able to achieve this by emphasizing contributing to the discussion. Yes, it is important for them to realize that engaging is a part of their overall grade, but it is also important for them to grasp that through discussion they gain knowledge, different perspective, and personal confidence. We have challenged them to do their best as students and use their many resources available to them especially their professors and teaching assistants. During our one–on–one meetings we thoroughly encouraged them to meet with their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Difference Between Dominate And Recessive Genes What is the difference between dominate and recessive genes? Genes help determine the characteristics and traits consisting of: eye, skin, hair color, etc. Each gene contains two alleles one coming from the mother and the other from the father, one being dominant and the other recessive. The dominant allele is typically expressed, while the recessive are not generally expressed. A dominant allele makes a pair with a recessive allele. The dominant allele determines the traits visibly expressed as phenotypes the genetic code working behind a trait in known as the genotype (Your Genome, 2016). What is the difference between heterozygous and homozygous expression of genes? The genetic material that determines the trait is known as the genotype, which at times it is said to be homozygous (a person containing two recessive/two dominant alleles coming from both parents) or heterozygous (a person having one recessive/one dominant allele from both parents). It is typically common for a child to have brown eyes when one parent has a recessive allele and the other a dominant allele allowing it to override the other. However, if both parents have brown eyes, but contribute the recessive allele the child will have blue eyes. This is not always the case as genetic inheritance is not always simple as we see some people having eyes that are green, one brown, and one blue (CCCOE, 2016). According to Pearl Harbor and the Coming of the Pacific War, the Japanese completed its control in Manchuria in 1932, then invaded China five years later. In the map created by various sources, the Japanese empire more than tripled its size after expansion through Manchuria in China. Japan established Manchuria as a puppet state, and held it as a reservoir for food resources, or a paddy field. To support a larger empire, its growing military, and an increase in naval power, the Japanese needed more and more oil. Unfortunately, Japan only owned a few oil reserves and produced very little of its own oil. They bought most of their oil from the United States. In fact, according to Suzuki Akira, "US Economic Sanctions Against Japan and its Aid to China during the Sino– Japanese War", 80 percent of Japan's 12,170,000 tons of oil was imported from the United States from 1937–1939. However, after tensions mounted between the United States and Japan, the amount of oil exported from US to Japan decreased dramatically, from 2,910,000 tons in 1940 to 880,000 tons in 1941, a 330 percent decrease in oil imports from the US. Tensions continued rising when Japan announced that they will establish "new order", or the Japanese Empire in East Asia. The US showed their disprovement by declaring an "embargo of aircraft and aircraft parts" (Iriye 1999) in 1939, and a complete oil embargo in 1941, a resource the Japanese depended on the most. Thus, I believe the main three reasons I received, alliance that was formed, and disease that was contracted from the Europeans. I believe that fear is a very powerful weapon. Therefore, when the omens of the Tlatelolco and Nahua communities started to become true, it struck it in their hearts. There were a total of eight omens. The first omen started about ten years before the Spaniards came over the New World. A couple of the omens are a tongue of fire in the sky, the mountain name of Tlacetecc burned and flared, a temple struck by lightning, and a lake boiling. Charming and Toxic Marijuana: Feminists Always Dominate the World "As soon as a woman gets to an age where she has opinions and she is vital and strong. Dating back to ancient times, men traditionally were determined more valuable over women based on the physical strengths and the capacity of resistance of outside pressure. However, not reconciled to the situation, women were making great efforts to enhance their positions and fortify their status in the society, which were beneficial for their own developments. For instance, the first female monarch of ancient China, empress Wu, ascended the throne in AD 630. Christianity Dominates American Society And Children Essay Christianity dominates American society, and due to this any sort of religious rebellion is automatically seen as hearsay and blasphemy that poisons our society and children. While in the college setting we try to be more open to other ideas, people still look down on alternate religions as the "wrong way." As for the Satanist church, they're seen as downright evil, certainly a popular misconception in our culture. When LaVey started the Temple of Satan in the 1960's, he was poking fun at our uptight Christian society (Urban, 170.) Modern LaVey Satanism is a mixture between serious ritual and satire, resulting in a strange community and an even more passionate following. Throughout our class, we have been learning about what makes a religion a religion, the people involved, and the culture that relates to its very core. Satanism as a whole is partially religious, and partially atheist. Nevertheless, this community is fighting for representation in the media, in schools, and in the community as much as the next religion. Satanism is pushing against the dominant religion, and in doing so, opening the floodgates for itself as well as other religious groups for their right to religious freedoms in the United States. They are both different in their philosophies and ideals. Political parties win elections, operate the government, and determine public policy. Political parties determine and make the important choices that affect our everyday lives. Democratic is liberal and left–leaning, the symbol is a donkey and the representing color is blue. Republican is conservative and right – leaning, the symbol is an elephant and the representing color is red. The three political topics that stick out to me the most are abortion, gun control, and gay rights/marriage. The Democratic Party was founded on March 3rd, 1828. The founders of liberal democrats are Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. They became recognized in the mid nineteenth century. Some popular current democrats would be President Barack Hussein Obama, former senator and secretary of state Hillary Clinton, and former president Bill Clinton. The Spanish cannot be considered to have settled the Americas, because the act of settling is based on inhabiting a place where no people have lived before. This raises more problems than it solves because people are being hired for who they are rather than the skills that they possess.
