Critical Spirit Essay
Post 2 replies to difficult concept (1 7) 1. Critical Spirit Romans 14:10 Why do you criticize and pass
judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you look down upon or despise your brother? For we shall
all stand before the judgment seat of God. (12) And so each of us shall give an account of himself give
an answer in reference to judgment to God. (13) Then let us no more criticize and blame and pass
judgment on one another, but rather decide and endeavor never to put a stumbling block or an obstacle
or a hindrance in the way of a brother. (The Amplified Bible) The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines
criticism as an act of criticizing; to judge as a critic; to find fault; to blame or condemn. As we have

would be used as a tool of the Devil to bring harassment or discouragement upon our brothers or

Taking a Look at Racism
Racism has presented itself countless times throughout the history of human existence. It exists in
many forms, and its consequences have proven dire several times. The definition of racism varies
depending on the dictionary, but the common theme throughout all definitions is one of intolerance or
hatred toward a culture. The concept of a culture, however, is a socially constructed concept in order
to classify humans based on their behavior, mannerisms, social ideals, ethnicity, age, faith, skin color,
or other category deemed identifiable. Every single one of the categories created to define a culture
was just that; they were created. On the grounds that culture is a social construct, by the virtue of the
definitions at hand, the hatred of a culture and therefore racism is in fact a social construct. Presented
with the question of What is racism and in what forms does it exist today? it can be answered in a
notably extreme way with a multitude of genocides occurring throughout the world at this very
moment. The very concept of a genocide is one built upon the social construct of racism that has
turned violent. The continent of Africa is most known for the major genocides occurring today, such as
in Darfur, Central African Republic, and many other countries within the continent. Racism at its root
is taking a socially constructed category, deeming it lesser than the category that you put yourself into
and using other socially constructed reasoning to justify actions

Analysis Of The Book Fierce Invalids Home From Hot...
As we read through this story we become aware of Switters contradictory nature, rather than
eschewing this trait he embraces it. He is a CIA agent who hates the government. He is a pacifist who
carries a gun and so on. Switters and his grandmother, Maestra, come up with six qualities that denote
the wisdom; they may or may not be required for wisdom, but they certainly drive Tom Robbins s
writing style. GOOD INTRO
When talking about wisdom to someone unaware of the process to OF becoming wise, one may say
that wisdom is knowing all there is to know about life; another may say that wisdom is having
ultimate knowledge and insight through experience. I personally agree with Tom Robbins when he
describes the six qualities needed for wisdom.
For instance, in the novel Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climate, Switters, a rogue CIA agent, is
confined to the physical and potentially spiritual elevation of a borrowed wheelchair by the curse of a
reclusive South American shaman. This particular event occurs early on in the novel and is a perfect
example of spirituality. Both Switters and his acquaintance R. Potney Smithe had spells cast upon
them. The shaman, End of Time explained what he had done, but neither of the men could truly
believe or understand what had been done. So to test the spell Smithe touches Switters S penis and
falls to the ground, stone cold, dead. Switters couldn t comprehend the reality of dying from some
superstitious taboo. So from that day on he resides in a

New Towns, UDC s and Enterprise Zones
New Towns and UDC s
a) New Towns: Positives?
They bring employment to the area with new businesses.
They disperse the populations of large cities.
Good rail and road links close by to access the larger cities for commuters.
Higher employment rates in a lot of new towns due to industries setting up nearby.
Good public transport around the town.
Lots of green space in and around the town.
Generally lots of affordable housing.
There is a country feel whilst still being in a larger town.
b) New Towns: Negatives?
The people moving to new towns are generally between the ages of twenty and forty. There are lots of
zero to five year old children and this creates a population bulge. Lots of primary and secondary
schools with empty classrooms.
They disrupt the social sides of families. Parents and family being left behind.
The social mix is very similar. Houses are the same price so people of the same income bracket and
social background live in the towns.
They are very unattractive places to live.
The town centres can be very congested.
Pockets of depravation and inequality. Lack of community feel.
Generally less character in the towns and much less history.
c) Weigh up the positives and negatives of the New Town strategy in your own opinion, was it
successful? (approx. 100 words)
I believe they have worked in the newer towns built in the second and third wave of the movement as
they have learned from a lot of their mistakes. They have succeeded in

The Conflict Of Science And Belief Systems, Preferential...
No one can lay claim to the past. The past belongs to everyone. Its remains are to be explored,
analyzed, shared, and documented so as to remain available for future generations. By delving into its
research, we are able to further understand those from whom we descended and more accurately place
ourselves within the timeline of the Earth. We are able to better comprehend how we have evolved as
a species every time we find new clues. While this information may be controversial to the few of the
religious extreme, it is invaluable to the entirety of the human race. In the conflict of science and
belief systems, preferential treatment should be given to advancement of scientific inquiry and of our
pool of knowledge as this has benefits for all, and to make exceptions based on belief is unjust.
Sometimes the controversy goes beyond disagreement on factual information, such as the age of
humanity or source of Earth s creation, and how we cover this information in schools. In the case of
certain American Indian groups, there has been conflict in the actual excavation of artifacts,
preventing physical evidence from being utilized for limitless amounts of scientific conclusion. There
has been disharmony in the idea of ownership and increased distrust, which is most likely in part due
to the American Indians deeply regrettable historic relationship with the United States government.
This led to the creation of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, which

Giant Pandas live in the mountainous regions of South west China. They live in temperate broadleaf
and mixed forests. They are steadily losing their forest habitat due to China s expanding human
population. They have been restricted to some 20 isolated patches of forest above 1,200m on six
mountain ranges in south western China: Minshan, Qinling, Qionglai, Liangshan, Daxiangling, and
Xiaoxiangling. An analysis of satellite imagery has shown that Giant Pandas have lost 50% of their
already vastly reduced habitat between 1974 and 1989. The major factors contributing the loss of
habitat are the conversion of forests into agricultural areas, medicinal herb collection, bamboo
harvesting, poaching and large scale development such as road construction, hydropower development
and mining. Due to Chinas dense population Giant Pandas are restricted to narrow belts of bamboo
forest no more than 1.2km wide and this small amount is continuing to disappear as settlers push

What Role Do The Witches Play In Macbeth
The witches play a vital role in Macbeth; they all have supernatural powers in which they use to feed
the manipulated Macbeth with his ambition:

the winds and let them fight Against the churches, though the yeasty waves Confound and swallow

The witches are the three sisters in the Greek mythology, the ones who decides the human destiny. In
the Greek mythology, these sisters are the ones who create and destroy the life of a person, in Macbeth
they play with Macbeth s destiny giving him overconfidence. Clotho was the youngest of the three
Fates; she spun the thread of destiny the one who determines the time of birth of an individual. Laches

Macbeth was written in The Middle Ages. Shakespeare was inspired by England and Scotland. He
also uses many literary devices like foreshadowing. A perfect example is when Macbeth hears a voice
while he is killing King Duncan. It foreshadows the insomnia that plagues Lady Macbeth and
Macbeth. Another literary device is situational and dramatic irony. When Lady Macbeth dies, the
reader expects that Macbeth is going to suicide or to get crazy because it was his wife and the one
whom he could relieve his conscious, but he just stays calm and denies that death is normal in life.
Dramatic Irony is used many times specifically with all the witches prophecies foreshadowing all the

Cowans 2 NEWTONS LAWS OF MOTION Soccer is an International sport played all over the world.
Soccer consist of two teams trying to score a soccer ball into a goal on the opposing team s side of the
field without using their arms or hands. This sport is straightforward and simple, but relates to physics
in many ways. The basic movement of kicking a soccer ball requires force, the release of kinetic
energy, acceleration etc. I will be discussing the importance of Physics in soccer and how it impacts
the overall game. In the sport Soccer the players are kicking the soccer ball up and down the field.
When the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the ball has a small amount of mass, than you require less force. Many soccer players use these
equations to their advantage when they start to kick the ball. If they know how much force they need
to apply it gives them more insight than the other team and gives them a better opportunity to score.
Cowans 3
Newton s Last Law of motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. This
means when you kick a soccer ball it s suppose to come back to you with the equal amount of
strength. This is actually true, but we aren t aware of this because our leg has a greater mass, than
soccer ball. When we apply force to the ball the same amount does come back, but because of the
unbalanced masses, we don t fill the push back, and this also means we have a greater Inertia because
of our leg s resistance. Although kick the ball is very important in soccer, the soccer ball has a very
important part in Physics and the game of soccer. When the player kicks the ball they transfer their
momentum into the soccer ball. Momentum is the velocity of an object times it s mass. Once your
momentum of the ball you can control it by using your feet. This can be demonstrated when someone
passes you the ball and your feet to stop or slow down the momentum in the ball. You are controlling
the momentum. THE MAGNUS EFFECT Everything above is all because of the Magnus Effect. The

The Analytical Effectiveness Of The Assessment
As I reflect about the various assessments I utilized for my project, I have mixed feelings about the
evaluative effectiveness of the assessments. When I began examine Jen s formal assessments results
(such as, Running Records, BY and EY Benchmarks, Sound Identification/Sigh Word Inventory
forms), I believed the assessments would accurately demonstrate a positive progress Jen had made
during the course of the year. What I discovered was both an intended and unintended consequence of
assessment use. On the one hand, I found the assessments to be useful tools to gauge student literacy
abilities. On the other hand, I believe that the focus on assessment led to the teacher developing a
deficit mindset with Jen. Often times Jen s teacher narrowly would focus on Jen s inability to be at
grade level or lack of drastic improvement. In fact, the only thought Jen s teacher had was on the fact
that Jen did not meet the expected reading level for the end of the year for K 2. I believe if teachers
rely too much on assessment scores limits their ability to understand external factors or barriers that
influence a child s literacy. McKenna and Picard (2007) discuss the importance for teachers to view
students word miscue analysis beyond the checks on paper and formulas. McKenna and Picard caution
teachers to avoid focusing on the assessment scores because they believe children reading strategies to
decode words or understand a word meaning does not always mean reading proficiency.

Description Of The Event That Caused The Earthquake
Description of the event:
In February 2011, a 6.3M earthquake devastated the city of Christchurch, New Zealand. Since the
fault movement that caused the earthquake did not visibly breach the Earth s surface, scientists were
reliant on measurements from a variety of instruments to determine the location and nature of the fault
movements. Based on data from GPS stations, seismographs, and other sensors, the fault that caused
this earthquake lies along the southern edge of the city. The fault rupture (Figure 1) was approximately
14km long, and extended offshore to the adjacent ocean (Briole et al, 2011). The top of the fault was
around 1km beneath the surface, and the rupture continued down along the fault plane for another 7km
(Briole et al, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At convergent plate boundaries, plates are pressing against each other until the build up of pressure
causes the strain on the plates to rupture, triggering a massive release of energy.
As previously mentioned, the earthquake triggered vertical land movement and was an example of a
dip slip fault, specifically of the thrusting nature. Thrust faults are a specific type of reverse fault.
Reverse faults occur when a block of land above a fault moves up relative to a block of land below the
fault. Reverse faulting motion is caused by compressional forces (convergent boundary) and results in
shortening. A reverse fault becomes a thrust fault when the angle at which a block of land moves over
another is 45° or less (Moscicki, 2017).
This earthquake was a delayed shifting of the new stresses to the Earth s crust caused by a 7.1M
earthquake in the same region in September 2010. The 2010 earthquake caused about 10km of
subsurface rupture in an east west direction (Holland, 2011). This quake was considered an aftershock
of the 7.1M earthquake due to the fact it s epicenter was adjacent to the existing aftershock zone of the
September earthquake (Holland, 2011). Like the main shock, the February 22nd aftershock was
triggered by the deformation along regional plate boundaries where the Pacific and Indo Australian
tectonic plates push against each other (Figure 3).
Impacts:
This 6.3M earthquake killed 185 people and injured several thousand

The Importance Of A Irish Step Dancing
Another major change in Irish step dancing since its creation, and even in the last century, is the actual
movement of the dancers. Watching Irish step dancing now, it is very clear that the movement is about
the feet. In competition, dancers move their feet and legs quickly and swiftly in order to impress
judges and the audience. Another distinct feature about Irish dance as opposed to other dance styles is
the rigidity of the top half of the body. Dancers keep their torsos straight and keep their arms at their
side. Keeping the arms at the sides is so important to the sport that judges will actually deduct points
from a dancer s score if there is any movement in the arms. However, this rigidity in the torso and
arms was not always the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aside from the lack of movement in the arms, Irish step dancing has begun to feature much more
technically difficult moves that are much faster, much harder, and much more showstopping. It is
believed that these moves in competition have been inspired by the globally known Irish step dancing
show, Riverdance. This show, which features group numbers, is famous for its enchanting nature.
Dance Magazine described the show as being famous for its long li ne of unison Irish step dancers
who pound out lightning fast rhythms with ramrod straight arms (Carr 16). The lightning fast
movement that has been mesmerizing audiences across the globe since the shows debut in 1995, has
been picked up by competitive Irish dancers and has completely changed the style of dance. Dancers
often wear two different types of shoes, a soft shoe and a hard shoe, for two different types of dances.
While soft shoe dances are still about being graceful and gliding across the floor, hard shoe dances
have picked up the show stopping mannerisms of shows like Riverdance and Lord of the Dance,
another famous travelling Irish step dancing show. Mary Lou Schade, the founder of the Schade
school of Irish Dance in New York actually attributes the change in the dance steps to these two dance
shows. In Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, the music is very fast, so it makes the steps look very
difficult. In competitive dancing, there are regulated tempi. For example, the hornpipe [a

Jacksonian Democracy Essay
Jacksonian Democracy
Jacksonian (Democracy, Society, etc.) is a term used to describe reform during the time of Andrew
Jackson s Presidency. Specifically Jacksonian Democracy refers to the general extension of
democracy that characterized U.S. politics from 1824 to 1828. Jacksonian Democracy and its support
came primarily from the lower classes as a rebellion of sorts apposing the aristocracy. Even though it
stressed equality, it was pro slavery and anti Indian (not unlike Andrew Jackson). Also there was
change in both the political parties and the social reforms. Jackson was seen as a westerner (even
though he was from Tennessee) and a president of the common man. This we can see when he married

The Democrats wanted to limit the role of government in the market and wanted to resolve the
tensions among the Northeast, West, and South. Also they wanted to do away with the national bank
(Jackson put a lot of money into city and state bands as a result) and sell land at low rates and leave
internal improvement basically to the states to deal with. The proposed government of the democrats
was one centered in local affairs (one of the most important was slavery). Jackson therefore wanted
weak central government within a permanent union. However soon came up the issue of Nullification
with South Carolinas attempt to nullify the tariff of 1828.
Social reform was underway as well with a number of institutions and social movements being
devoted to improving morals of individuals and society in general. Schools started to pop up around
the country. Public tax supported schools set up by Whigs in the north. The school systems were
centralized at the state level and made attendance mandatory. Temperance was also part of this reform,
and this was the most sustained movement in social history. The good old crusade against the use of
alcohol that began in 1820. The reason for this it was argued was that alcohol led to violence, personal
and social disintegration and was associated with being out of control. This effort was headed up by
the middle class (women mostly) that assumed poverty, crime, and every other thing wrong with
society was a result

The Effects Of Television On Our Health
Jacoby stated in his article Silent that Idiot box that letting your children watch too much television
can ruin them in the long run. Television has the ability to lead children to violence and destroy their
innocence. Television can be pleasing to the eye. According to Jacoby children don t become educated
from watching TV. The more TV they watch, the less educated they usually end up. I agree with him
because when I use to watch television I would feel extremely sluggish and not want to do anything
else. Watching television can have some effects towards your overall health. It also can lead to bad
habits and prevents you from having a better outlook on life around you.
Watching too much television can have a serious effect on one s motivation and abilities to interact
with the outside world. For example, Scarface is about Gang related activities and Drug abuse and is
very aggressive. It can be so engrossing. It can make a child wonder what his life would be like if he
was in the main character s shoes. If parents watch a violent show or movie with their young children
around, the children will have problems. They will develop learning difficulties and have trouble
paying attention in class. Not communicating with your friends and family is also a health problem, a
person could get depressed, have social anxiety, or become delusional. People can even become sleep
deprived.
What normally happens when you watch television? You usually stay there dazed for many of

Games Design As Narrative Architecture By Henry Jenkins
Narrative research
Introduction
Games and story, which on opposite sides of the interactivity. After reading a paper named Games
Design as Narrative Architecture by Henry Jenkins, I think controlling the balance of gameplay and
storytelling is important to game designers if they want to design a game with narrative. For this essay
I will be analysing two completely different examples, focusing on their narrative and gameplay in
order to explain this issue. In addition to this, I will also provide some games I have played and
combine the theories in this paper and other books to analyse their different ways to create immersive
narrative experience in the game.

Storytelling is one of the most important forms of play indeed (Crawford, 2013), however not every
player would like to read story in games, they enjoy the process of achieving goal, too much narrative
even can be experienced as an unwelcome interruption (Jenkins, 2004). In order to avoid this
situation, game designer should using environmental storytelling in various ways to build a game
space which full of narrative. So players can enjoy the game itself and narrative in same time.
Here is an example, which is not positive but can demonstrate the importance of keeping balance of
game and narrative. Ensemble Star is a Japanese smartphone game, which I have played for one year.
Its narrative is completely attractive and impressed, however, its experience of gameplay is very
inconspicuous. Players only need to read stories, spend money to get cards and collect items to
strengthen their cards. Players can make some choices, but their choices cannot cause serious
consequences to the overall stories. So strictly speaking, I think it is not a game but a novel with
interactive function. Yet, its Chinese version add some game mechanics and blend into game story,
which makes this interactive novel more like a game. For example, every character have their back
stories. In Japanese version, players only can tap stories button to read. But in Chinese

Abstract
An electrolyte is a substance that produces an electrically conducting solution when dissolved in a
polar solvent, such as water. The dissolved electrolyte separates into cations and anions, which
disperse uniformly through the solvent. There are electrolytes in sports drinks which athletes drink
which helps their body because the body depends on the electrolytes to control the cell membrane
stability and carry electrical charges.
Background
Sport drink types and electrolytes
Sport drinks are made for athletes and sports such as basketball, football, soccer, track, hockey, etc.
Sport drinks come in different flavors and different brands such as gatorade, powerade, 100plus, all

one of the most known brands for their sports drinks and other sport products like energy bars. They
have many commercials for their brand and they also sponsor a lot of athletes such as lebron james
and tom brady and they also sponsor leagues such as the NBA. Powerade is another brand that is well
known for their sport drinks.

Current Situation of Airline Industry
Current Situation of Airline Industry
Since the airline industry was deregulated in the late 1970s, they shall hold the line on the number of
planes they fly. The result is that the people by plane shall be more and more, and the fares shall
become expensive. Because air transport is faster than other transportation methods, the people
increasingly prefer to fly. The air transportation shall be an important transportation method in the
future, and the people engaged in air transportation shall have a brilliant future. The plane is not only
in transportation, but also it can be used in military. The profits of airline are very substantial.
Airline tried to maintain this situation for more profits. But they failed, because appeared many ...

After analysis, you can find that the competitors are not only the players, and other transportation can
also impact on airlines. The strongest competitive force is the airline which can determine the
profitability of an industry and of are of greatest importance in strategy formulation. Like other
industries, you need to compete in all of the aspects, such as product quality, service and so on. As you
know, air transport has a certain risk, so you must make your customers feel safe. The fare is
expensive compared to other transportation, so you service must be the best.
Distribution channels shall improve the profitability. Set up distribution outlets throughout the
country. Facilitate the customers around the country, and increase profits for themselves. Government
policy shall limit the development of airline, such as air pollution, water pollution, saving energy and
so on. The airline must meet these requirements, and otherwise the government shall limit their
development.
Formulate strategy for coping with competition. The intense competition in airline industry is neither
coincidence nor bad luck, as long as you formulate a set of detailed strategy plan, and you shall have
ability to cope with your competitors. You need rational analysis, and do not be too pessimistically.
If the airlines want to cope with the competitors, they need to invest large financial resources to build

Essay on Augmented Reality and The Future of Multimedia
Introduction
What does augmented reality means? AR is the acronym for augmented reality. A rough definition of
augmented is to maximize or change to a higher extent. Augmented reality, which is a type of virtual
reality, basically means that the real world environments are duplicated in a computer. A combination
of reality and virtual scenes, created a composited view for the end user which are generated by the
computer. The computer with augmented reality system augments the real world view or scene with
additional information. The design of the virtual scene created by the computer is to improve the
sensory perception of the user of the virtual world that they are interacting with or seeing. A system in
which a user cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is also responsible in popularizing the phrase Virtual Reality . Just a year later, the phrase
Augmented Reality (AR) was phrased out by Tom Caudell while he was at Boeing, helping workers
assemble cables into aircrafts.
In 1992, one the first fully working AR system called VIRTUAL FIXTURES was developed. It was
developed by L.B. Rosenberg at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory in Armstrong and
demonstrated benefits to the performance of human. In the same year, the Graphics Interface
conference witnessed the first major paper on an AR prototype, KARMA, presented by Blair
MacIntyre, Doree Seligmann and Steven Feiner. In 1993, another version of the paper, a widely cited
version is published in Communications of the ACM.
With sponsorship from STRICOM, Loral WDL performed the very first demonstration that manned

A Poison Tree Analysis
Mistakes: An action that is misguided or wrong. Mistakes are made in everyday life. Mistakes can be
anything from keeping in emotions, to how someone handled a situation. Mistakes aren t made unless
someone does something wrong. This idea can be seen in many pieces of texts including the following
poems. A Poison Tree by William Blake and A total stranger one black day by e.e. cummings both
convey the message that people need to learn to deal with their emotions, otherwise it can lead to
mistakes.
Through A Poison Tree, William Blake conveys that handling emotions inappropriately leads to
mistakes. The use of an extended metaphor expresses this theme because William Blake compares
hatred to a tree. As the poem continues, so does the growth of the tree, and hatred the subject is
feeling. The speaker states, I told it not, my wrath did grow./And it grew both day and night (Blake 4
and 9). In this quote, the speaker expresses that he hasn t told the person who he hates, his feelings,
and they continue to grow. His hatred grows more and more as time passes, just like a tree grows and
grows. This compares to a tree because trees start off as a small seed and they continue to grow into a
large tree. The extended metaphor expresses the theme because the speaker doesn t know how to
handle his emotions, and let s them keep building up which leads to a major mistake in his future.
Another device William Blake uses is an allusion because he is alluding to the garden of Eden and

Synopsis of Health and Wealth Theory When dealing with the health care system, the socioeconomic
status of an individual can influence the quality of service they receive. The Health and Wealth theory
shows that the amount of money someone has determines how well they are treated medically. Money
gives individuals access to health care and for those who have very little amount of money or none at
all are at risk of not receiving quality health care. In many instances, individuals with poor health are
more likely to live in low end areas, have minimal education, and a low income (Hutchison, 2015).
People who have a low income usually have more health problems than those with high incomes
because they are exposed to hazardous environments and partake in unhealthy habits like smoking and
not exercising (Hutchison, 2015). Affordable health care can be hard to come by. Having insurance
can help give people access to health care, but the cost of health insurance can hinder some people
from having it (Hutchison, 2015). Also, just because someone has health insurance does not mean they
have automatic access to health care

Voodoo Season Summary
Intro The practice of Voodoo has been around for many centuries. The word itself means the great
spirit. It originally started with the African slaves who combined their West African traditions and
beliefs with Catholicism. To many Voodoo has been seen as cult and something that begets fear. This
has been a common misunderstanding and misconception and that is part of the reason why I have
chosen this topic. If one were to look up the definition of Voodoo it would be defined as an African
religious cult practiced in the Caribbean and later in the Unites States, which involves animism,
sorcery, religious rituals and spirit possession. Although some of the above is true people perceive that
definition in a negative form. The portrayal of Voodoo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

negative relationship. Throughout the story we see that Marie channels her abilities in a good way
because she is a selfless person seeking to help everyone she can. Selfless humans put others needs
before their own needs and they are willing to lookout for others as opposed to looking out for
themselves. However, Allez who is a selfish person uses his abilities in an evil way for his own self

it is to reach their own goals. Source 2 Summary: In the film, The Princess and the Frog, by director

Nebra Sky Disc Theory
The Nebra Sky is disc is regarded as the most compelling and riveting archaeological find of the 21st
century. Deep in the Ziegelroda Forest in the town Nebra near Berlin, Germany was the location
where two treasure hunters stumbled upon an archaeological find so astonishing it surpassed all the
finds made in Central Europe. However, the intention of the two treasure hunters was not to expand on
the astrological history of region, but to create immense wealth. They soon realised that there find
could not be sold legally due to the Nebra Sky Disc belonging to the region in which it was found; the
state of Sachsen Anhalt. They quickly turned to the illegitimacy and waited to sell the disk for an

It is believed to be an astronomical clock used for agricultural. This theory is accurate when
considering the other archaeological finds when surveying the area in which it was found. Some
notable examples are the Stonehenge and Newgrange. Both use the solstices to predict correct planting
and harvesting times. As the Bronze Age was an agricultural moment, the people livelihoods were
based and surrounded by the agriculture system. The Nebra Sky Disk was later discovered to be an
astronomical device in which it acted as a lunar calendar which is based on the phases of the moon.
However, the lunar calendars had an issue of not being in sync. The synchronisation of the seasons
was vital for the survival for agriculture. The Nebra sky disk was use to decide when an intercalary

constellation. So, the disk was put up the sky and if the sky match the desk, they would then add an

their answer would probably be something between the lines of using the internet and anything else
related to it, because let s face it, our race has evolved into a technology dependent specie. The rise of
the internet has given way to more opportunities especially in the entertainment category which
resulted in more people turning to the internet and away from TV and movies. According to the 2011

Essay On Family Observation
For my observation on a speech event, I chose to observe my relatives coming to my home for a small
dinner/get together on Thanksgiving. I had around 13 families get together. As a custom of greeting
the guest, my brother and I had gone to open the door for them. To show respect toward the elders,
who were the grandparents, we had to put our hands together, bow, say Sat Sri Akal , and give them a
hug. What I found interesting was that we greeted are uncles and aunts, my brother and I had different
ways to greet them. For me I would do the same things I did towards the grandparents for my aunts,
but when I greeted my uncles I never really gave them a hug. As for my brother he had given hugs to
both my aunt and uncle. I also noticed that my uncles would say Sat Sri Akal and walk away, but for
my brother almost all of them had a full on conversation at the door and gave him hugs. While I
mostly made conversations with my aunts. For my cousins, the way we greeted them was completely
different from the way we greeted the elders. When we went the greet them there was no formality.
Neither my brother or I said, Sat Sri Akal , bowed, or even put out our hands together; even if they
were older than us. Instead, I would say hi, while my brother would say sup to his male cousins and hi
or hello to his female cousins. As long as they were consider cousins or not elders we did not have to
greet them with formality. I was surprised on how differently my brother and I had

Exegetical Study on Corinthians
Exegetical study on: 1 Corinthians 14:1 6 Principles of Biblical Interpretation Dr. Dale Hutchcraft
10/23/09 Alex Sullins The passage that I chose to exegete is 1 Corinthians 14:1 6, the main idea of this
passage is for the apostle Paul to confront the Corinthian church in Corinth about their misuse of the
spiritual gifts, namely the use of tongues. The following is a full outline of the passage with the main
point of each verse, it goes as follows: 1 Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially
that you may prophesy. Paul starts out this verse strongly with the word pursue and earnestly showing
the importance he is putting on pursuing the spiritual gifts. He stresses the importance though of the

The NT understands prophecy to be a divine and inspired message from God. This word has several
meanings: a) To proclaim the revelation, the message of God, imparted to the prophet. b) Prophecy
can have a special sense to foretell or proclaim future events. c) Prophecy can also mean to bring to
light by prophetic speech something concealed. d) In Paul the word denotes teaching, admonishing,
and comforting (1 Cor. 14:3) e) In Acts 19:6 it shows that prophecy is used to inspire and ecstatic
magnifying God (Acts 10:46) (Kittel). Only Paul speaks of the gift of prophecy, in some instances as
in 1 Th. 5:20 it is not clear whether the reference is to the prophetic gift or the prophetic saying
(Friedrich). Verse 2 Verse 2 explains that the misuse of tongues was one of Corinthians major
problems in their exercises of their spiritual gifts during worship (Blomberg). When speaking in
tongues they felt enlarged and elevated, their whole being was for a time expanded by this emotion
(Exell). These gifts are all used by the spirit, in understanding these gifts it is essential to understand
what the spirit is. In Jewish thought the spirit denotes the power that humans experience that relates
them to the spiritual realm, the realm that lies beyond human control (TDNT). The human spirit is the
aspect of a person that God most immediately encounters him or her (Rom. 8:16) the spirit is also

Implementation of SMT Concept in Intel Processor Essay

efficient use of limited amount of processor resources such that at OS and software level it is seems
just like multiple processors are running multiple processes. It is less costly and more efficient.
Sharing policy is also playing an important role in performance improvement. Background: In order to
improve processor performance following traditional approaches like higher clock speeds, instruction
level parallelism, and cache hierarchies were used. But now thread level parallelism is also taken into
consideration. Higher clock speed: Achieve by microarchitecture pipelining to finer granularities

Hyperthreading technology architecture: Hyperthreading technology makes a single physical
processor appear to be multiple logical processors at OS level. From a microarchitecture perspective,
it means that instructions will persist and execute simultaneously on shared execution resources. Die
size and complexity: Hyperthreading technology is resource efficient and deliver a large performance
improvement at minimal cost because it entails only a small increase in die size (is due to a second
architectural state, additional control logic, and replication of a few key processor resources) due to
limited replication of physical processor resources. Microarchitecture choices and tradeoffs: To share
resources, we chose among possible sharing schemes that included partition threshold full sharing
Partition: In a partitioned resource, each logical processor can use only half the entries. Resource
partitioning is simple and low complex. It works best for the major pipeline queues in the in order
pipeline. Threshold: Another way of sharing resources is to limit the maximum resource usage. This
scheme puts a threshold on the number of resource entries a logical processor can have. Full sharing:

Statement of Purpose to Attend Either Colorado State...
College is very important for people who want to become successful later on in life. The colleges that
I have looked at attending, and that could get me further in life are: Colorado State University (CSU)
and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). UNC and CSU both have great educational systems.
All of UNC s classes are smaller in size, CSU has more students enrolled, making the class sizes
bigger. CSU and UNC are both close areas to Milliken. CSU is more known throughout the country
for its sports, and UNC has a good sports program. Both colleges would be great to go to, due to in
state tuition and all the majors each offer. CSU lacks a baseball team and is located in a more crowded
area. My opinion is UNC would be a better college to attend, for many reasons. One is that not many
people attend UNC. Also, UNC is located in a less crowded place. The education would be better too,
because you could get more one on one time with the professors. UNC allows students with as low as
a 2.7 GPA from high school to attend, which is good for students who need a degree for a job and have
struggled some in high school. UNC would be better for students who want to go into the field of
accounting because they offer all three degrees for that area. Going to college is the first step to
getting a job and learning how to live in society.

Essay about Sexual Frustration in Alfred Hitchcock s Rope
On May 21, 1924, two highly intelligent university scholars from Chicago, Richard Loeb and Nathan
Leopold, executed their highly calculated plan for the cold blooded murder of a distant relative of
Loeb #960;s, 14 year old Bobby Franks. As students of Nietzsche #960;s philosophy, Loeb and
Leopold had set out to commit the #8805;perfect murder #8804; in order to actualize the belief that
they were of an elite group, superior to the common man, to whom the standard moral code did not
apply. So infamous is the story of their murder and eventual detainment that it has become entrenched
in American popular culture, with numerous books and films aspiring to recreate it in vivid detail.
Amongst these, Alfred Hitchcock #960;s Rope ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, the real murder, on which the film is based, was carried out by bludgeoning the victim, which
suggests that the homosexuality of the men was of enough significance in Hitchcock #960;s mind to
warrant a more suggestive alternative. The flaccid structure of a rope is quite obviously an association
to the sexual impotence they experience as a consequence of society #960;s disapproval of what it
designates as #8805;perverse #8804; erotic expressions. When the boys #960; housekeeper returns
from her shopping, Phillip fears that she will discover what has transpired, and the young men
exchange particularly telling words which exemplify this idea even further:
P: I was sure she #960;d notice it.
B. Notice what?
P: The rope of course. Brandon, we #960;ve got to hide it.
ä
B: It #960;s only a piece of Rope, Phillip, an ordinary household article, why hide it? It belongs in the
kitchen drawer.
In other words, Phillip is unintentionally giving voice to society #960;s denunciation of homosexuality
and, consequently, to his fear of exposure and the shame it would bring upon him. In terms of this
discussion, however, the aspect of the film which carries the strongest Freudian implication is the very
fact that the rope, a phallic symbol of sexual frustration, is the actual weapon chosen to commit
murder, one of the most violent and explosive acts of aggression. One can

as well as an alternative to more harmful exposure but there are always risks at everything you do.

Being capable of doing this would be beneficial to some people because it doesn t take as long and
sitting out in the sun. There is a controlled dosage of the ultraviolet rays to reassure the consumer does
not receive a large amount of UV ray, these dosages should be spread out over several sessions. A
great aspect of tanning is clients get privacy in their own booth. Weight, being too white, tan lines and
uncomfortable bathing suits are not an issue with the tanning beds. Another advantage to tanning is it
is all year round. It doesn t matter if it is snowing or raining outside you can still get the benefit of a
captivating skin color.
Indoor tanning beds can have a negative impact on your skin. It can cause premature wrinkles, rashes,
and can cause cancer. Tanning is like a slow cooker that can slowly affect your skin and your aging
process. When tanning it is suggested to ask the salon staff the recommended exposure limits for your
skin type. Always precautious when you decide to tan for example if you do not wear goggles then it
can damage your ocular perceivers such as losing your vision. Wearing indoor sunscreen would be a
good precaution for your skin and you should consider your medical history for going tanning.
Secondly, knowing the type of bulbs when tanning is very important. The tanning lamps release
ultraviolet rays your body can tan. They contain: inert gasses, a little mercury, and phosphorus
coating.

  • 2. Critical Spirit Essay Post 2 replies to difficult concept (1 7) 1. Critical Spirit Romans 14:10 Why do you criticize and pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you look down upon or despise your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God. (12) And so each of us shall give an account of himself give an answer in reference to judgment to God. (13) Then let us no more criticize and blame and pass judgment on one another, but rather decide and endeavor never to put a stumbling block or an obstacle or a hindrance in the way of a brother. (The Amplified Bible) The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines criticism as an act of criticizing; to judge as a critic; to find fault; to blame or condemn. As we have read, the scriptures tell us ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Devil As we may realize, the Devil specializes in influencing obsessive behavior. He may use any or all of the above channels, or other techniques, to influence a complaining or critical attitude to stir up turmoil and strife within the body of Christ (Eph. 6:12). We must be on guard that none of us would be used as a tool of the Devil to bring harassment or discouragement upon our brothers or sisters through continual criticism, as the Bible warns us not to give place to the Devil (Eph. 4:27). Remember that Satan is specifically called the accuser of the brethren (Rev. 12:10). Are you an accuser of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Taking a Look at Racism Racism has presented itself countless times throughout the history of human existence. It exists in many forms, and its consequences have proven dire several times. The definition of racism varies depending on the dictionary, but the common theme throughout all definitions is one of intolerance or hatred toward a culture. The concept of a culture, however, is a socially constructed concept in order to classify humans based on their behavior, mannerisms, social ideals, ethnicity, age, faith, skin color, or other category deemed identifiable. Every single one of the categories created to define a culture was just that; they were created. On the grounds that culture is a social construct, by the virtue of the definitions at hand, the hatred of a culture and therefore racism is in fact a social construct. Presented with the question of What is racism and in what forms does it exist today? it can be answered in a notably extreme way with a multitude of genocides occurring throughout the world at this very moment. The very concept of a genocide is one built upon the social construct of racism that has turned violent. The continent of Africa is most known for the major genocides occurring today, such as in Darfur, Central African Republic, and many other countries within the continent. Racism at its root is taking a socially constructed category, deeming it lesser than the category that you put yourself into and using other socially constructed reasoning to justify actions ... • 4. Analysis Of The Book Fierce Invalids Home From Hot... As we read through this story we become aware of Switters contradictory nature, rather than eschewing this trait he embraces it. He is a CIA agent who hates the government. He is a pacifist who carries a gun and so on. Switters and his grandmother, Maestra, come up with six qualities that denote the wisdom; they may or may not be required for wisdom, but they certainly drive Tom Robbins s writing style. GOOD INTRO When talking about wisdom to someone unaware of the process to OF becoming wise, one may say that wisdom is knowing all there is to know about life; another may say that wisdom is having ultimate knowledge and insight through experience. I personally agree with Tom Robbins when he describes the six qualities needed for wisdom. For instance, in the novel Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climate, Switters, a rogue CIA agent, is confined to the physical and potentially spiritual elevation of a borrowed wheelchair by the curse of a reclusive South American shaman. This particular event occurs early on in the novel and is a perfect example of spirituality. Both Switters and his acquaintance R. Potney Smithe had spells cast upon them. The shaman, End of Time explained what he had done, but neither of the men could truly believe or understand what had been done. So to test the spell Smithe touches Switters S penis and falls to the ground, stone cold, dead. Switters couldn t comprehend the reality of dying from some superstitious taboo. So from that day on he resides in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. New Towns, UDC s and Enterprise Zones New Towns and UDC s a) New Towns: Positives? They bring employment to the area with new businesses. They disperse the populations of large cities. Good rail and road links close by to access the larger cities for commuters. Higher employment rates in a lot of new towns due to industries setting up nearby. Good public transport around the town. Lots of green space in and around the town. Generally lots of affordable housing. There is a country feel whilst still being in a larger town. b) New Towns: Negatives? The people moving to new towns are generally between the ages of twenty and forty. There are lots of zero to five year old children and this creates a population bulge. Lots of primary and secondary schools with empty classrooms. They disrupt the social sides of families. Parents and family being left behind. The social mix is very similar. • 6. The Conflict Of Science And Belief Systems, Preferential... No one can lay claim to the past. The past belongs to everyone. Its remains are to be explored, analyzed, shared, and documented so as to remain available for future generations. By delving into its research, we are able to further understand those from whom we descended and more accurately place ourselves within the timeline of the Earth. We are able to better comprehend how we have evolved as a species every time we find new clues. While this information may be controversial to the few of the religious extreme, it is invaluable to the entirety of the human race. In the conflict of science and belief systems, preferential treatment should be given to advancement of scientific inquiry and of our pool of knowledge as this has benefits for all, and to make exceptions based on belief is unjust. Sometimes the controversy goes beyond disagreement on factual information, such as the age of humanity or source of Earth s creation, and how we cover this information in schools. In the case of certain American Indian groups, there has been conflict in the actual excavation of artifacts, preventing physical evidence from being utilized for limitless amounts of scientific conclusion. There has been disharmony in the idea of ownership and increased distrust, which is most likely in part due to the American Indians deeply regrettable historic relationship with the United States government. This led to the creation of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They have been restricted to some 20 isolated patches of forest above 1,200m on six mountain ranges in south western China: Minshan, Qinling, Qionglai, Liangshan, Daxiangling, and Xiaoxiangling. An analysis of satellite imagery has shown that Giant Pandas have lost 50% of their already vastly reduced habitat between 1974 and 1989. The major factors contributing the loss of habitat are the conversion of forests into agricultural areas, medicinal herb collection, bamboo harvesting, poaching and large scale development such as road construction, hydropower development and mining. This sport is straightforward and simple, but relates to physics in many ways. If the ball has a small amount of mass, than you require less force. Many soccer players use these equations to their advantage when they start to kick the ball. If they know how much force they need to apply it gives them more insight than the other team and gives them a better opportunity to score. Cowans 3 Newton s Last Law of motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. This means when you kick a soccer ball it s suppose to come back to you with the equal amount of strength. This is actually true, but we aren t aware of this because our leg has a greater mass, than soccer ball. When we apply force to the ball the same amount does come back, but because of the unbalanced masses, we don t fill the push back, and this also means we have a greater Inertia because of our leg s resistance. Although kick the ball is very important in soccer, the soccer ball has a very important part in Physics and the game of soccer. When the player kicks the ball they transfer their momentum into the soccer ball. Momentum is the velocity of an object times it s mass. Once your momentum of the ball you can control it by using your feet. This can be demonstrated when someone passes you the ball and your feet to stop or slow down the momentum in the ball. The Analytical Effectiveness Of The Assessment As I reflect about the various assessments I utilized for my project, I have mixed feelings about the evaluative effectiveness of the assessments. When I began examine Jen s formal assessments results (such as, Running Records, BY and EY Benchmarks, Sound Identification/Sigh Word Inventory forms), I believed the assessments would accurately demonstrate a positive progress Jen had made during the course of the year. What I discovered was both an intended and unintended consequence of assessment use. On the one hand, I found the assessments to be useful tools to gauge student literacy abilities. On the other hand, I believe that the focus on assessment led to the teacher developing a deficit mindset with Jen. Often times Jen s teacher narrowly would focus on Jen s inability to be at grade level or lack of drastic improvement. In fact, the only thought Jen s teacher had was on the fact that Jen did not meet the expected reading level for the end of the year for K 2. I believe if teachers rely too much on assessment scores limits their ability to understand external factors or barriers that influence a child s literacy. McKenna and Picard (2007) discuss the importance for teachers to view students word miscue analysis beyond the checks on paper and formulas. McKenna and Picard caution teachers to avoid focusing on the assessment scores because they believe children reading strategies to decode words or understand a word meaning does not always mean reading proficiency. ... Since the fault movement that caused the earthquake did not visibly breach the Earth s surface, scientists were reliant on measurements from a variety of instruments to determine the location and nature of the fault movements. Based on data from GPS stations, seismographs, and other sensors, the fault that caused this earthquake lies along the southern edge of the city. The fault rupture (Figure 1) was approximately 14km long, and extended offshore to the adjacent ocean (Briole et al, 2011). The top of the fault was around 1km beneath the surface, and the rupture continued down along the fault plane for another 7km (Briole et al, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At convergent plate boundaries, plates are pressing against each other until the build up of pressure causes the strain on the plates to rupture, triggering a massive release of energy. As previously mentioned, the earthquake triggered vertical land movement and was an example of a dip slip fault, specifically of the thrusting nature. Thrust faults are a specific type of reverse fault. Reverse faults occur when a block of land above a fault moves up relative to a block of land below the fault. Reverse faulting motion is caused by compressional forces (convergent boundary) and results in shortening. A reverse fault becomes a thrust fault when the angle at which a block of land moves over another is 45° or less (Moscicki, 2017). This earthquake was a delayed shifting of the new stresses to the Earth s crust caused by a 7.1M earthquake in the same region in September 2010. The 2010 earthquake caused about 10km of subsurface rupture in an east west direction (Holland, 2011). This quake was considered an aftershock of the 7.1M earthquake due to the fact it s epicenter was adjacent to the existing aftershock zone of the September earthquake (Holland, 2011). Watching Irish step dancing now, it is very clear that the movement is about the feet. Another distinct feature about Irish dance as opposed to other dance styles is the rigidity of the top half of the body. Dancers keep their torsos straight and keep their arms at their side. Aside from the lack of movement in the arms, Irish step dancing has begun to feature much more technically difficult moves that are much faster, much harder, and much more showstopping. This show, which features group numbers, is famous for its enchanting nature. Dance Magazine described the show as being famous for its long li ne of unison Irish step dancers who pound out lightning fast rhythms with ramrod straight arms (Carr 16). The lightning fast movement that has been mesmerizing audiences across the globe since the shows debut in 1995, has been picked up by competitive Irish dancers and has completely changed the style of dance. Dancers often wear two different types of shoes, a soft shoe and a hard shoe, for two different types of dances. While soft shoe dances are still about being graceful and gliding across the floor, hard shoe dances have picked up the show stopping mannerisms of shows like Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, another famous travelling Irish step dancing show. Mary Lou Schade, the founder of the Schade school of Irish Dance in New York actually attributes the change in the dance steps to these two dance shows. Jacksonian Democracy and its support came primarily from the lower classes as a rebellion of sorts apposing the aristocracy. Even though it stressed equality, it was pro slavery and anti Indian (not unlike Andrew Jackson). Also there was change in both the political parties and the social reforms. The proposed government of the democrats was one centered in local affairs (one of the most important was slavery). Jackson therefore wanted weak central government within a permanent union. However soon came up the issue of Nullification with South Carolinas attempt to nullify the tariff of 1828. In order to avoid this situation, game designer should using environmental storytelling in various ways to build a game space which full of narrative. Ensemble Star is a Japanese smartphone game, which I have played for one year. Its narrative is completely attractive and impressed, however, its experience of gameplay is very inconspicuous. Players only need to read stories, spend money to get cards and collect items to strengthen their cards. • 23. A Poison Tree Analysis Mistakes: An action that is misguided or wrong. Mistakes are made in everyday life. Mistakes can be anything from keeping in emotions, to how someone handled a situation. Mistakes aren t made unless someone does something wrong. This idea can be seen in many pieces of texts including the following poems. A Poison Tree by William Blake and A total stranger one black day by e.e. cummings both convey the message that people need to learn to deal with their emotions, otherwise it can lead to mistakes. Through A Poison Tree, William Blake conveys that handling emotions inappropriately leads to mistakes. The use of an extended metaphor expresses this theme because William Blake compares hatred to a tree. As the poem continues, so does the growth of the tree, and hatred the subject is feeling. The speaker states, I told it not, my wrath did grow./And it grew both day and night (Blake 4 and 9). In this quote, the speaker expresses that he hasn t told the person who he hates, his feelings, and they continue to grow. His hatred grows more and more as time passes, just like a tree grows and grows. This compares to a tree because trees start off as a small seed and they continue to grow into a large tree. The extended metaphor expresses the theme because the speaker doesn t know how to handle his emotions, and let s them keep building up which leads to a major mistake in his future. Another device William Blake uses is an allusion because he is alluding to the garden of Eden and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Synopsis of Health and Wealth Theory When dealing with the health care system, the socioeconomic status of an individual can influence the quality of service they receive. The Health and Wealth theory shows that the amount of money someone has determines how well they are treated medically. Money gives individuals access to health care and for those who have very little amount of money or none at all are at risk of not receiving quality health care. In many instances, individuals with poor health are more likely to live in low end areas, have minimal education, and a low income (Hutchison, 2015). People who have a low income usually have more health problems than those with high incomes because they are exposed to hazardous environments and partake in unhealthy habits like smoking and not exercising (Hutchison, 2015). Affordable health care can be hard to come by. Having insurance can help give people access to health care, but the cost of health insurance can hinder some people from having it (Hutchison, 2015). Also, just because someone has health insurance does not mean they have automatic access to health care ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Voodoo Season Summary Intro The practice of Voodoo has been around for many centuries. The word itself means the great spirit. It originally started with the African slaves who combined their West African traditions and beliefs with Catholicism. To many Voodoo has been seen as cult and something that begets fear. This has been a common misunderstanding and misconception and that is part of the reason why I have chosen this topic. If one were to look up the definition of Voodoo it would be defined as an African religious cult practiced in the Caribbean and later in the Unites States, which involves animism, sorcery, religious rituals and spirit possession. Although some of the above is true people perceive that definition in a negative form. The portrayal of Voodoo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 29. Essay On Family Observation For my observation on a speech event, I chose to observe my relatives coming to my home for a small dinner/get together on Thanksgiving. I had around 13 families get together. As a custom of greeting the guest, my brother and I had gone to open the door for them. To show respect toward the elders, who were the grandparents, we had to put our hands together, bow, say Sat Sri Akal , and give them a hug. What I found interesting was that we greeted are uncles and aunts, my brother and I had different ways to greet them. For me I would do the same things I did towards the grandparents for my aunts, but when I greeted my uncles I never really gave them a hug. As for my brother he had given hugs to both my aunt and uncle. I also noticed that my uncles would say Sat Sri Akal and walk away, but for my brother almost all of them had a full on conversation at the door and gave him hugs. While I mostly made conversations with my aunts. For my cousins, the way we greeted them was completely different from the way we greeted the elders. When we went the greet them there was no formality. Neither my brother or I said, Sat Sri Akal , bowed, or even put out our hands together; even if they were older than us. Instead, I would say hi, while my brother would say sup to his male cousins and hi or hello to his female cousins. Exegetical Study on Corinthians Exegetical study on: 1 Corinthians 14:1 6 Principles of Biblical Interpretation Dr. Dale Hutchcraft 10/23/09 Alex Sullins The passage that I chose to exegete is 1 Corinthians 14:1 6, the main idea of this passage is for the apostle Paul to confront the Corinthian church in Corinth about their misuse of the spiritual gifts, namely the use of tongues. The following is a full outline of the passage with the main point of each verse, it goes as follows: 1 Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. Paul starts out this verse strongly with the word pursue and earnestly showing the importance he is putting on pursuing the spiritual gifts. He stresses the importance though of the gift ... This word has several meanings: a) To proclaim the revelation, the message of God, imparted to the prophet. b) Prophecy can have a special sense to foretell or proclaim future events. c) Prophecy can also mean to bring to light by prophetic speech something concealed. d) In Paul the word denotes teaching, admonishing, and comforting (1 Cor. 14:3) e) In Acts 19:6 it shows that prophecy is used to inspire and ecstatic magnifying God (Acts 10:46) (Kittel). Only Paul speaks of the gift of prophecy, in some instances as in 1 Th. 5:20 it is not clear whether the reference is to the prophetic gift or the prophetic saying (Friedrich). Verse 2 Verse 2 explains that the misuse of tongues was one of Corinthians major problems in their exercises of their spiritual gifts during worship (Blomberg). When speaking in tongues they felt enlarged and elevated, their whole being was for a time expanded by this emotion (Exell). These gifts are all used by the spirit, in understanding these gifts it is essential to understand what the spirit is. In Jewish thought the spirit denotes the power that humans experience that relates them to the spiritual realm, the realm that lies beyond human control (TDNT). Background: In order to improve processor performance following traditional approaches like higher clock speeds, instruction level parallelism, and cache hierarchies were used. UNC and CSU both have great educational systems. All of UNC s classes are smaller in size, CSU has more students enrolled, making the class sizes bigger. CSU and UNC are both close areas to Milliken. CSU is more known throughout the country for its sports, and UNC has a good sports program. Both colleges would be great to go to, due to in state tuition and all the majors each offer. CSU lacks a baseball team and is located in a more crowded area. My opinion is UNC would be a better college to attend, for many reasons. One is that not many people attend UNC. Also, UNC is located in a less crowded place. The education would be better too, because you could get more one on one time with the professors. UNC allows students with as low as a 2.7 GPA from high school to attend, which is good for students who need a degree for a job and have struggled some in high school. UNC would be better for students who want to go into the field of accounting because they offer all three degrees for that area. As students of Nietzsche #960;s philosophy, Loeb and Leopold had set out to commit the #8805;perfect murder #8804; in order to actualize the belief that they were of an elite group, superior to the common man, to whom the standard moral code did not apply. When the boys #960; housekeeper returns from her shopping, Phillip fears that she will discover what has transpired, and the young men exchange particularly telling words which exemplify this idea even further: P: I was sure she #960;d notice it.
