Informative Speech On The Way To Overcoming Mental Block
Topic: Mental Block
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the way to overcome mental block.
Central Idea : Mental block can be overcome by L.O.V.E which is L is for limit your association
with negative people, O is for Once more, V is for visualization, and E is for enthusiasm.
1. Introduction
a. Mental is one of the key of success.
b. A human with stronger mentality will dare to do anything, not afraid to try and make a failure as a
challenge that must be faced with great enthusiasm.
c. Mental block is an inability to recall some specific thing or perform some mental action.
d. People, who have mental blocks, will feel depressed, fearful, insecure and nervous to do anything
that it deems incompatible with them.
e. The goal of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You'll be much more excited about doing what's necessary to turn something into reality when you
see the image of yourself in your future or you imagine yourself in the future.
– For an example, you can visualize what you want to be in 10 years from now, what do you want to
have, then specific it into your mind because it will be your motivation for success.
– You just have to remember to explicitly experience what you want in all sensory modes.
– Make it absolutely as real as possible.
– 'if you want to reach a goal, you must "see the reaching" in your own mind before you actually
arrive at your goal'–Zig Ziglar
d. E for enthusiasm.
– You must love your work and be confidence in everything that you do.
– If you did not love what you do, you will not feel excited to do your work. So there is no existence
of enthusiasm.
– One of the ways to get your enthusiasm is from reading an inspirational book.
– Reading helps your brain to develop new ideas and perspectives on various topics.
– If you are caught up in a mental "block" takes time to just read something, even if it's completely
random to create inspiration on your emotion.
– Once you got an inspiration, you will be enthusiastic to do your work and it will help to overcome
mental block because you love what you

Ziglar: A Summary And Analysis
When one writes a goal down, he or she is 42 times more likely to accomplish it (Morrissey, 2016,
p. 1). Not all goals are scored and tallied on a scoreboard, but important goals come from life–long
struggle and perseverance ending with ultimate triumph. Zig Ziglar reveals, "What you get by
achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals." I chose this
quote because it made me realize I have overlooked who I have become in pursuit of my goals. I
have learned to value the process to truly become a better person from reaching my goals. As Ziglar
explains, the person one becomes while in pursuit of a goal is where one truly succeeds. Goals are
like mountains. The top is a great place to look from, but if I look back on how far I climbed the
reward is the journey to the top. Most satisfaction and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with my goals posing challenges, it also presents an opportunity to fail and learn from my
mistakes. The lessons and skills I have learned are invaluable. Occasionally, I forget successful
people once went through a difficult process en route to their dreams as well. Walt Disney was told
he had no good ideas and lacked imagination (Kipman, 2014, p. 3–4). Disney is an example of
someone who learned along his journey to being an animator and successful businessman. When I
started high school I knew I wanted to be a varsity cheerleader. I did not realize on the journey I was
learning to be persistent, brave, and outgoing. Often, I become too focused on my goal I do not
appreciate or realize how I have changed as a person to accomplish my goal. For example, someone
on a weight loss journey will be thrilled once he or she reaches his or her goal, but the goal is not
what is important. On their journey, they will have learned to overcome temptation and start a
completely new lifestyle. Looking back on my journey, I know my goal has been able to change my

Gender Equality
Gender Equality; Can Hope succeed? Do you know how it feels to have a strong determination to
pursue your life goal, but you also have to deal with the laborious consequences such as gender
equality? According to Zig Ziglar, "What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as
what you become by achieving your goals". A girl named Hope Jahren lived in a poor place where
women and men were not treated equally. Many people argued on how women couldn't be things
like men such as a doctor, engineer, or scientist, for instance eSTEM school has more men than
women because it's an engineering school, traditionally girls are not encouraged to work as an
engineer they mostly focus on language arts and performance. No woman should be underestimated
of what they can do. The book Lab Girl shows that Hope Jahren story is based on equality. Hope
wants to show people that men and women should be treated equally and disproves stereotypes by
succeeding without money, overcoming bias hardships and completing labs that are usually done by
men. She is like any ordinary teen with big hopes, Will she succeed in proving people by having her
dream come true? Hope Jahren was raised in a poor place where they didn't believe in woman. In
that society, people took advantage of women and thought they were only capable of doing chores
and taking care of children. "Undeterred, she moved to Minneapolis anyway and tried to support
herself while studying chemistry at the University of Minnesota,

I Am A Great Writer
I'm a great writer. Writing is something that comes naturally to me. I don't even have to think about
it most of the time. Being able to communicate through writing is important with any career,
especially management. I am very creative as well. Ever since I was a kid, I've always been into
drawing, music, and coming up with new ideas. I am very motivated and I know how to lead teams.
For example, in my Business Ethics class I took it upon myself led a semi–dysfunctional team and
we achieved a good grade in the class. I am also a perfectionist, which is good but can easily
backfire on me. Where I See My Management Weaknesses One of my weaknesses might be that I'm
an introvert. To address the introvert/extravert issue; I'd say I'm more of an introvert. Some of my
favorite authors including Zig Ziglar and Grant Cardone identify themselves as introverts although
they come across as strong extraverts. Mr. Ziglar said something that made me want to get into
sales. He said that introverts make better salespeople because they can relate to the customer better,
research what the customer wants, and adopt characteristics that an extravert has. On my spare time
I read books like "Sell or be sold" by Grant Cardone, "See you at the top" by Zig Ziglar, "Live your
dreams" by Les Brown, and of course "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield. All of which motivate
me and make me a better person. I view success as my obligation, duty, and responsibility and I
believe it is dangerous to be

Personal Narrative Essay: My Experience To Monkey Island
A few years back, on a sunny Sunday morning, I visited Palolem beach along with my cousins. The
moment we reached the beach, we could see a lovely deserted island popularly known as Monkey
Island (marked as Kankon Island on Google maps). We had a great time playing on the beach; it was
a very secluded & clean beach those days. The island alluringly beckoned to us and we decided to
take a closer look at it. We walked towards a rocky area as the villagers told us we could wade
across from there to Monkey Island in low tide. However, when we reached the rocks we found that
the water between us and the island was neck deep & the current was very strong. We decided not
be take a risk, dropped the idea of visiting the island and instead sat down on the rocks to enjoy the
view of the sea. It was a nice experience watching the sea, the waves, the rocks & the spray. After a
while we noticed that a little further ahead, an old man in rags was fishing using a homemade
fishing rod. He seemed to have had a bad day so far as there were only 3–4 small fishes lying in a
small plastic bag next to him. We felt sorry for him and hoped that he would catch a big fish soon.
After a few minutes, our prayers seemed to have been answered as he reeled in a big fish. We felt
happy thinking that he would be able to eat a good meal today. However, to our utter dismay after
removing the big fish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another cousin suggested that if he is unable to afford a new pan, he can cut the big fish into small
pieces before frying it!
This is not an article about fishing & frying pans, but about pursuing big dreams. Many times, like
the old man threw back the big fish which would not fit his tiny frying pan, we dismiss our big
dreams because we feel that they are too big to fit our existing mindsets & abilities. Let us apply the
two approaches suggested above in pursuing our big dreams.

Integrity In Treasure Island
In Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, Jim Hawkins develops a growing sense of integrity
and eventual ability to do what is morally right, no matter what the personal cost. Jim goes from
behaving like a kid ready for an adventure out at sea to an independent person understanding the ups
and downs of the journey and understanding struggle. In the beginning of the novel, Jim becomes
very excited, not thinking about the many troubles he may run into. All he wants rise to have the
freedom to take control and play a part as lead unlike in the Admiral Benbow. After waiting for a
long time, one evening, Squire Trelawney sent a letter telling Jim about the new crew of pirates,
Long John Silver, and the ship, the Hispaniola, he got so excited he could not ... Show more content

Overall, Jim wants to go on a wild adventure even though this is a big change from his life in the
barren countryside. Later in the novel, Jim has to kill Isreal Hands after learning of his mischievous
plan to exterminate Jim even though he seems disabled "all fallen together in a bundle... too weak to
bear the light" (147). Then Jim really gets involved in sailing and turns around by instinct, only to
find Hands ready to strike with "a long knife, or rather a short dirk" (146). Then Jim strikes back,
even though to Jim, it will always be wrong to injure someone, but Jim has to save his own life.
During this life–changing moment of a fight Jim narrates, "I lost no time in changing the priming of
my pistol, and then, having one ready for service, and to make assurance doubly sure, I proceeded to
draw the load of the other, and recharge it afresh from the beginning" (151). This illustrates how Jim
is willing to shoot Hands with his two pistols to save his life and his crew's

Hire America Case Study
"Buy America, Build America and Hire American." Donald Trump
This sentiment made by U.S president had the effect of causing discrimination in hiring of
employees. This statement had the effect of ensuring that people who were not Americans could not
secure employment with the local companies. This will discriminate individuals who are capable of
working on this ground.
"Prevention is the best defense against lawsuit." Bertrand Spunberg
Many companies have continued to be sued by the employees, it is therefore necessary that a

It is important to treat employees fairly, this is to mean that they should not be overworked because

business, humanity should prevail.
"Just because the law doesn't mandate it, it doesn't mean as a business you can't go ahead and

This was as a result of the discrimination of gay couples who got fired from their work places as a

that will ensure that the rights of this employees are protected and that they are not discriminated.

High School : Highest Potential
Highest Potential As a junior in high school, I have recently become interested in psychology. While
studying psychology/sociology this previous year, I have become drawn to the topic of human
potential. After gathering what I have learned, it turns out most people want to live their life to the
fullest by becoming all they can be. To reach this fulfillment of a higher/better self is known as self–
actualization. A major problem for many people today is reaching their full potential, although the
potential already lies within them. Everyone has the power to succeed and to become self–
actualized. All it takes is to become an optimistic, realistic, and problem centered individual. So
what is stealing people's happiness and the ability to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To become a self–actualized person, people must first meet certain needs. Abraham Maslow,
founder of humanistic psychology had focused on the positive sides of mental health ( WGBH,"
People and Discoveries Abraham Maslow"). In his studies and interests dealing with human
potential, Maslow had created a pyramid known as the Hierarchy of Needs. This pyramid consisted
of five levels: physiological needs, safety needs, belonging needs, esteem needs, and self–
actualization needs.
Maslow believed people have an inborn desire to be self–actualized, and people who dealt with
managing the higher needs were what he called self–actualizing people (WGBH," People and
Discoveries Abraham Maslow"). The more each lower–level need was satisfied more the next
higher–level need would be satisfied (Taormina "Maslow and the Motivation Hierarch"). In
addition, family support, traditional values, and life satisfaction had significant positive correlations
with the satisfactions of all levels (Taormina, "Maslow and the Motivation Hierarchy"). To become
a self–actualizing individual, people must reach all these needs listed and described in the following
paragraphs. Starting from the bottom of the pyramid is physiological needs. These necessities are
survival based; the need for food, water, and rest. This consists of the most basic needs. All levels
out of the pyramid come secondary until these physiological needs are met (Tay L. Diener,

Odysseus Character Analysis
Zig Ziglar once said, "Try to look at your weakness and convert it into your strength. That's
success." This means that even though there may be traits about yourself that are slowing you down,
everything depends on the way you handle them. Although most heroes seem superhuman, they
often have human–like weaknesses. Their faults can get them into trouble if they aren't careful. In
the book The Odyssey by Homer, the hero Odysseus has many humanlike flaws like excessive
pride, selfishness, and lack of leadership that gets him and his crew into tough situations.
Odysseus' exaggerated pride takes over him at times and causes him to make foolish decisions. For
example, when Odysseus and his crew escape the cyclops, his ego took over and he ... Show more

This shows that Odysseus does not take into consideration other people and the risks that he is
putting them in. This information shows that Odysseus is a self–centered person.
Odysseus shows terrible leadership skills through his words and actions. One way Odysseus lacks
leadership is when he did not tell his crew what was in the sack, so they took matters into their own
hands and "loosed the sack and all the winds burst out and a sudden squall struck and swept [them]
back to sea" (Book X, 53–54). This means that since Odysseus was keeping secrets from his crew,
they felt the need to open the sack and see what was really inside of it. This could have all been
avoided if he told them the truth to begin with and earn a role as a trustworthy leader. Another way
he lacks leadership is when they were on the island waiting for the giant and one of his shipmates
said "'Let's make away with the cheeses, then come back– hurry, drive the lambs and kids from the
pens to our swift ship, put out to sea at once!' But [Odysseus] would not give way–" (Book IX, 255–
258). This shows that the crew doesn't want to confront the giant because of the risks involved, but
Odysseus is not concerned about the risks and does what he pleases. A good leader would let other
people share their opinions, take the risks into consideration, and then decide what to do, and he did
not do

I like to read articles that educates, yet still also interesting. Every day I would go on a website

be any ages or have different qualifications, from a high school kid to a person with a Ph.D. There is
varieties of questions about topics and answers that are surprisingly informative. I usually read
questions and answers about education, traveling, psychology, or random stories. For example, I
recently read an answer to a question, what are the most interesting facts about the human behavior?

also older, I have the opportunity to ask him for help with school work and learn about his

result of pursuing my career in Occupational Therapy. Pursuing this career choice will allow me to

I was first introduced to Occupational Therapy when I was in high school, when my grandmother

begin learning and understanding the impact various treatment strategies have on the progress of
patients. Looking from the outside in and seeing the interaction between patients and therapists,
created a greater excitement for the profession. The spark in a patient's eye when a therapist

Peer Mentor Research Paper
Becoming a Wings peer mentor means that I get to take my knowledge I have learned while at
Arrowhead and share it with the people who need it the most. One of the very first things I would
share with them is one my my favorite quotes of all time, said by Zig Ziglar: "You can't climb uphill
by thinking downhill thoughts". I would like to say that I have lived by this saying everyday in my
life. All around me I hear degrading things being said about other people and it makes me realize
that some days, high school can be a really brutal place to be. You never know who's talking about
you, what they are saying, if your friends are really your friends, or if your crush really likes you.
You don't know what grade you got on a test, and you feel like a teacher has it out for you. There are
so many things that occupy a high schooler's mind and make going to school one of the scariest
things you will do, especially when you are a freshman walking into Arrowhead for the first time. I
would like to be a peer mentor for the class of 2021 so I can show them that among all of the
insecurities, challenges, and negativity that comes with being in a high school, there are also things
that make these years some of the best of your life. And it all depends on how you face each day.

Analysis Of Into The Wild, By Jon Krakauer
Zig Ziglar once said, "Don't be distracted by criticism. Remember: The only taste of success some
people have is when they take a bite out of you." The criticism of appearance causes many people to
hide their legitimate self. The superficial life that many people are able to live is not for everyone.
Going against one's community is ethical when their judgment of an individual does not allow them
to truly be happy.
By criticizing one's appearance, the community drives people to escape from common limitations.
Social boundaries are set by the common flow of people within a community, usually, those who
feel the need to break free, are those who have been condemned. "...but seeing her otherwise so

This is not necessarily true. By living without materials, one may be obtaining the most organic
form of happiness. In the "Excerpts from Walden", on page two Henry David Thoreau stated, "I
wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live sturdily and Spartan–like..." This
may mean that one is finding true happiness but it might also mean that one is simply avoiding the
dark facts of the changing world around them. Nevertheless, as an individual, you should posses
happiness in the beginning of life; materials are just extra items that could possibly bring you joy.
By escaping materialism, McCandless in Into the Wild was the exact opposite of delighted when he
stripped himself of his possessions. "..for the first time since leaving Colorado, I was truly afraid"
(Krakauer 139). By getting rid of his property, McCandless did not find happiness, he found true

Finding Goals In 'Searching For Summer'
Zig Ziglar once said, "When obstacles arise, you change your direction to reach your goal, you do
not change your decision to get there." Any journey has the potential to be a challenge, and
perseverance is essential to overcome obstacles. In "Searching for Summer" by Joan Aiken, Tom
and Lily set a goal to find sunlight, but things take an unexpected turn and do not proceed as
planned. I think they achieve their goal, and gain even more than what they seek. As they dream of
sunlight and stars, Tom and Lily can not seem to find sunlight anywhere because of the bombs from
the war that block the sunlight. At Mrs. Hatching's cottage, they achieve their goal and see the
sunlight and also form new friendships. Tom and Lily are newlyweds, and on their honeymoon,
their primary goal is simply to find sunlight. After the war, sunlight was rare and the sky was
consistently gray. Tom said, "Going to find a bit of sun and have our honeymoon in it"(6). Lily even

Fast-Tracking Educational Reform Case Study
Concept on Fast–Tracking Educational Reforms thr' Adopting Career Dynamics in the 21st Century
One of the greatest challenges of our times is unemployment/unemployability of our graduates
which was rated at 51% as at 2014, based on research by the East African Inter–universities council.
Conversely, more than 80% of employed Kenyans are unhappy in their jobs and can thus never
unleash their full potential. This portrays a grave scenario especially with regard to wastage of

the employed, who are unable to unleash their full potential. According to author Zig Ziglar, they

Yes indeed. That is why he penned the concept titled "Career Dynamics in the 21st Century," whose

Becoming A Giver Essay
Personal career growth and team growth are inextricably tied together. Althea Gibson said, "No
matter what accomplishments you make, somebody helped you." On the career field there are three
types of players.
Receivers... take and never give. These team members focus on themselves and rarely go out of
their way to do anything for others. They are only concerned about what they can get from others
and have little interest in others' needs.
Exchangers... receive and then give. These team members focus on keeping score. They will give
information and aid, but their real motivation isn't to help others. They see relationships as an
instrument to barter. Exchangers usually won't initiate giving unless they want something in return.
When ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They create this collaboration process by investing in relationships. Zig Ziglar clearly states the
essence of this approach; "You can have everything in life that you want if you just give enough
other people what they want." How do you build yourself and your team by becoming a Giver? You
can begin by taking these five steps:
1. Place others first in your thoughts. Healthy work relationships begin with the ability to recognize
co–workers needs. Remember team goals and work to develop an attitude of kindness toward
teammates. Show respect to people joining your team – even before he/she has a chance to earn it.
Commit random acts of kindness.
2. Focus on giving, not the return on investment of your time. Novelist Herman Melville believed
"We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men." We are
linked with our team and our destinies are interwoven. As a result, when we help others, we benefit.
Givers are like investors in the stock market. In the long run, they are likely to benefit, but have
little control over what that return will look like or how it will occur. But since they can control
what they invest, that's where they should focus their time and

The team culture can become negative when one or more of the employees does not have the same
values, work ethic, and personality. This brings me back to the human resource department who has
the sole responsibility of determining candidates who will fit well with the organizational and team
cultures, which includes the emotional intelligence and motivating factors of the candidate (Bethel
University, 2011). I feel it is really important for a person to understand their own emotional
intelligence and even more so for managers to understand and be able to identify their employees
emotional intelligence. Now, companies hire motivational speakers and testing firms to teach and
identify employees who meet a certain criteria in whom the company can invest in; moreover to
create leaders and better overall performance. The knowledge of emotional intelligence will assist
all levels or managers in motivating his/her team(s) to achieve a higher level of success. However,
when negative motivation is applied and is comes across as demeaning, the employees may feel
fearful, threatened, or even spiteful. When this occurs the productivity will falter. Now, we have to

life of someone completely unexpected. For example, the main character, Samantha Kingston, dies
in a car accident that she gets into with her friends, the "popular" girls, except Samantha does not
fully die. Instead, she relives the day of the accident over and over, from morning up until the
accident that night. Which is heavily foreshadowed before the accident when she says "Maybe you

Samantha relives February 12th over and over but she lives every day differently. At the beginning
she sees no meaning in the continuous loop and starts to become frustrated and does whatever she
wants with her time on these days because she knows it does not matter––that she will wake up and
relive it the next day anyway. This makes the reader curious about when and how Samantha will
escape this deja vu. As the days go on, Samantha and the reader slowly progress together and begin
to see the meaning unfold behind all of this, and both Samantha's and readers' questions gradually
get answered. "It amazes me how easy it is for things to change, how easy it is to start off down the
same road you always take and wind up somewhere new. Just one false step, one pause, one detour,
and you end up with new friends or a bad reputation or a boyfriend or a break up. It's never occured
to me before; I've never been able to see it. And it makes me feel, weirdly, like maybe all of these
different possibilities exist at the same time, like each moment we live has a thousand other
moments layered underneath it that look different." Through her thoughts, this shows the character's
progression, curiosity, and different perspectives as the days go on. The leisure pace of this novel
keeps the build–up of suspense steady and keeps the reader guessing. The suspense carries through

Back To Prison Research Paper
According to Stevenson wrote, "Today we have the highest rate of incarceration in the world." (15).
In the United States, one of the primary goals of the prison system is to rehabilitate prisoners that
they will not commit again. Unfortunately, some individuals will be back to their life of crime for
some reasons. Lack of support, lack of relationships, and inability to obtain employment are the
essential causes of recidivism today.
Lack of support is one of the main reasons that many prisoners return to live a life of crime. Family
support is a good example. Only love from family, friend, and parent that can be the strong
encouragement to keep prisoners on the straight. Many people release from the prison, and their
lives often become difficult to start again. They need time to be overwhelming, and they need
family and friend to support the attitude toward life. Low–income family support backgrounds are
one of the causes that many people commit robbery and murder Many people after release from
prison, they are lonely and disappointed because of no family, so they want to return to the jail.
Many prisoners can be back to the prison if they do not lack any support. ... Show more content on

The Landlady
"The Landlady" is a Horror Story
Horror is the genre that keeps the reader on their toes for nights upon end. It keeps them thinking.
Thinking about how cruel and disturbing someone, or something, can possibly be. Thinking about
what in the world happens to a character after the story drops off in a cliffhanger. Thinking about the
probability that the events in the narrative could transpire in real life. Thinking about how likely it is
for those things to happen to the reader. Scary stories bring shivers and dreadful thoughts whenever
they come to mind. "The Landlady" by Roald Dahl gives the reader these feelings, and it is without
a doubt a horror story for many additional reasons. The setting is one of a scary story, there is a

In other eerie stories like "The Tell Tale Heart" and "The Monkey's Paw," the reader is expecting
something terrible to occur. In "The Tell Tale Heart," the reader knows for a fact that the narrator is
mentally crazy. What one does not know is what kind of insane thing the narrator will do. While
reading "The Monkey's Paw," the reader is expecting the wish to go horribly wrong, but the
individual does not know what kind of detrimental thing the wish will do. In "The Landlady," one
gets that same sense of curiosity. The reader is anticipating something disturbing to happen once the
landlady's obviously fabricated personality is mixed with the cold and dreary setting. Consequently,
that combination creates suspense. The creepy comments that the old lady directs toward Billy plus
the remarks she makes about the other boys add to that sense of waiting in anticipation! Statements
like "There wasn't a blemish on his body.... His skin was just like a baby's" and observations about
the physical features of each boy scare the reader. It makes them wonder how the landlady knows
these things and what she intends to do with that

the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. So it is that they have been through

Musical Ear Syndrome (MES)
Musical Ear
If I said the term "musical ear" to you, you might think I was referring to the ability to appreciate
music or the talent to distinguish when someone was singing off–key. You would be wrong.
There is actually a medical condition referred to as Musical Ear Syndrome (MES). A state found
mostly in senior women suffering hearing loss. MES seems to be brought on through sensory
deprivation due to the hearing loss. It happens when a seniors brain is trying to fill the gap, the
silence or void, by fabricating information, and in MES cases, the brain is trying to fill the gap with
a piece or pieces of familiar music from their past.

children since its release date. Parents seem to think the contrary. It has lately been labeled as
"weird" and "non–productive." The show consists of Tinky winky, Laa–Laa, Dipsy and Po. These
creatures resembled some type of aliens in a suit who live in an abnormal world composed of non–

commercialization in public television. Leaving aside the negative effects of children's television,
TV learning is not a new activity. Parents have busy lives, which makes it more and more tempting
to let their children watch TV. Parents feel more satisfied leaving their kids with trusted television.

When it came time to choose my Eagle Scout Project, I became aware of the needs in our own

I faced a challenge that I thought would mark the end of my career in FFA, or Future Farmers of

thrown my way. Losing the people who I thought were my best friends was the main problem I
faced after the election. I was the new chapter president and I was afraid of what was going to
happen with my friendships because of my position. I thought about quitting and running the other

myself from failing proving that I really didn't deserve the position. I did think about quitting, I
thought about it a lot actually because I was afraid my friends were right and that I would fail, and I
was also afraid of them, but then I went back and looked at the quote my mom sent me, "Forget
Everything And Run, or Face Everything And Rise," at that point I didn't know what the best thing
to do would be. I talked to one of my Ag teachers about it after school that day and I told him I
didn't know what to do. He told me to face it head on, and that he would be right by my side helping
me face each obstacle that was thrown my way. When my "friends" found out I wasn't going to give
up and run away from the challenges I was faced with they started spreading rumors about me and
talking about how "rigged" the elections were if someone like me could've gotten president. I was
hurt, and the more they talked bad about me the more I wanted to quit and run away from it all and

Personal Statement : Psychology And Sociology
As a junior in high school, I have recently become interested in psychology. While studying
psychology/sociology this previous year, I have become drawn to the topic of human potential.
After gathering what I have learned, it turns out most people want to live their life to the fullest by
becoming all they can be.
So
what is stealing people's happiness and the ability to reach their full potential? The answer is fear.
Due to doubts, fears, and temptations people are holding back from all they can be. As a result,
many people are not reaching this achievement of a greater life. Abraham Maslow stated, "Most
people remain unaware of the nature, variety and extent of what lies within" (Young, "What is Self–
actualization?"). This is a common obstacle among people today, yet there is a solution. It will take
many processes and life changes to become a self–actualizing individual, but I believe that people,
including myself are capable of achieving this gratification. Just like Zig Ziglar affirmed, "Man was
designed for accomplishment, engineered for success, and endowed with the seeds of greatness"
(Ziglar 4). In the following

Persuasive Essay About My Dream
"Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. The best has yet to come"– Zig Ziglar. Life is
different for everyone, no one is raised the same no matter what we think. No one has the perfect
life, with the perfect parents, the big, beautiful, house with the white picket fence in the front yard.
Instead in life if we're lucky we'll get one of those things, but most people get none. Inside our head
we have our life planned out, our career, the number of kids we want, the person we want to marry.
But as we grow up and acknowledge the world around, we realize life doesn't go as planned. That
you don't marry the person you want, have the number of kids you want, and your life isn't the same
as you planned it to be. When you're little you have your life planned out a certain way. You want to
be a princess living in a big castle and your prince charming coming to save you. All throughout
your childhood your dream life changes. You go from wanting to be something dramatic to setting
for something realistic. Sooner or later you realize you want to get married and have a family. Every
little girl has their dream wedding planned out, from the perfect white dress down to the color of the
flowers the flower girl is throwing. Everything has detail and is perfect for you. You don't let anyone
tell you anything different. You look up to your parents and wish for a relationship like theirs. Life
was amazing, but soon enough something takes a turn. But your only five so you don't know any
better. You stick to the way things are but you adapt to the life around you. However, as you get
older and aren't that five year old girl anymore you see life in a different way. Now you're 14 and in
high school. Life hasn't been the way you planned. Your parents got a divorce, you have no real
image of what love really is. Going home isn't as easy anymore. You put on a fake smile around
everyone at school, and they see you as someone who is always happy. But behind that smile is
someone who isn't happy. At home all you hear is yelling and screaming. No one at home is happy.
All the friends you grew up with you longer talk to. So much for the keeping in touch and not letting
high school drift them apart. Then you get blamed for

What Is The Best Response To Conflict
Why having a positive attitude is the best response to conflict. Zig Ziglar once said, "Positive
thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will." In more than one way Ziglar
was correct in saying this, a positive attitude is better than a negative one, especially when it comes
to conflict. Anne Frank and Mrs.Breed both show how a positive attitude towards a problem would
help more than a negative one. In my experience, negative thinking results in more conflict, which
means, positive thinking results with a solution, most of the time. This leads me to believe, a
positive attitude is the best response to conflict. Anne Frank was a perfect example on how a
positive attitude is much better than a negative one. She states, "I don't think I will ever feel at home
in this house, but it doesn't mean I hate it. It's more like being on vacation in some strange pension."
(Frank, entry July 11, 1942, paragraph: 18) She mentions she doesn't like the house, but she remains
positive and says it's like being on vacation. Anne also says," I was able to plaster the wall with
pictures. It looks much more cheerful."(Frank, entry July 11, 1942, paragraph: 19 ) She ... Show

the article, " Participants who saw images of fear and anger wrote down the fewest responses.
Meanwhile, the participants who saw images of joy and contentment, wrote down a significantly
higher number of actions that they would take, even when compared to the neutral group."
(Huffington Post, "The Science of Positive Thinking") This shows you think more clearly when you
have a positive attitude than when you have a negative one. This proves that having a positive
attitude is the best response to conflict, because you think more clearly and your brain functions

"There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed,

qualities will make your hardtimes worth it after a devastating heartbreak, but making the right
choice however, is not a cakewalk. The easy road is there with a big sign saying: "It is too hard to

stick to it? I don't believe so. First off, we're kids, we should be having fun. If we earn the money
that we are spending, then why shouldn't we be able to spend it the way we choose? Second, I
believe that when your child becomes a teenager, you should be allowing them to make mistakes. If

percent of teens have seasonal jobs! That can amount to a lot of stress for a teenager! There is a

Informative Speech On The Way To Overcoming Mental Block

  • 1. Informative Speech On The Way To Overcoming Mental Block Topic: Mental Block Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the way to overcome mental block. Central Idea : Mental block can be overcome by L.O.V.E which is L is for limit your association with negative people, O is for Once more, V is for visualization, and E is for enthusiasm. 1. Introduction a. Mental is one of the key of success. b. A human with stronger mentality will dare to do anything, not afraid to try and make a failure as a challenge that must be faced with great enthusiasm. c. Mental block is an inability to recall some specific thing or perform some mental action. d. People, who have mental blocks, will feel depressed, fearful, insecure and nervous to do anything that it deems incompatible with them. e. The goal of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You'll be much more excited about doing what's necessary to turn something into reality when you see the image of yourself in your future or you imagine yourself in the future. – For an example, you can visualize what you want to be in 10 years from now, what do you want to have, then specific it into your mind because it will be your motivation for success. – You just have to remember to explicitly experience what you want in all sensory modes. – Make it absolutely as real as possible. – 'if you want to reach a goal, you must "see the reaching" in your own mind before you actually arrive at your goal'–Zig Ziglar d. E for enthusiasm. – You must love your work and be confidence in everything that you do. – If you did not love what you do, you will not feel excited to do your work. So there is no existence of enthusiasm. – One of the ways to get your enthusiasm is from reading an inspirational book. – Reading helps your brain to develop new ideas and perspectives on various topics. – If you are caught up in a mental "block" takes time to just read something, even if it's completely random to create inspiration on your emotion. – Once you got an inspiration, you will be enthusiastic to do your work and it will help to overcome mental block because you love what you ... • 2. Ziglar: A Summary And Analysis When one writes a goal down, he or she is 42 times more likely to accomplish it (Morrissey, 2016, p. 1). Not all goals are scored and tallied on a scoreboard, but important goals come from life–long struggle and perseverance ending with ultimate triumph. Zig Ziglar reveals, "What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals." I chose this quote because it made me realize I have overlooked who I have become in pursuit of my goals. I have learned to value the process to truly become a better person from reaching my goals. As Ziglar explains, the person one becomes while in pursuit of a goal is where one truly succeeds. Goals are like mountains. The top is a great place to look from, but if I look back on how far I climbed the reward is the journey to the top. Most satisfaction and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Along with my goals posing challenges, it also presents an opportunity to fail and learn from my mistakes. The lessons and skills I have learned are invaluable. Occasionally, I forget successful people once went through a difficult process en route to their dreams as well. Walt Disney was told he had no good ideas and lacked imagination (Kipman, 2014, p. 3–4). Disney is an example of someone who learned along his journey to being an animator and successful businessman. When I started high school I knew I wanted to be a varsity cheerleader. I did not realize on the journey I was learning to be persistent, brave, and outgoing. Often, I become too focused on my goal I do not appreciate or realize how I have changed as a person to accomplish my goal. For example, someone on a weight loss journey will be thrilled once he or she reaches his or her goal, but the goal is not what is important. On their journey, they will have learned to overcome temptation and start a completely new lifestyle. Looking back on my journey, I know my goal has been able to change my ... • 3. Gender Equality Gender Equality; Can Hope succeed? Do you know how it feels to have a strong determination to pursue your life goal, but you also have to deal with the laborious consequences such as gender equality? According to Zig Ziglar, "What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals". A girl named Hope Jahren lived in a poor place where women and men were not treated equally. Many people argued on how women couldn't be things like men such as a doctor, engineer, or scientist, for instance eSTEM school has more men than women because it's an engineering school, traditionally girls are not encouraged to work as an engineer they mostly focus on language arts and performance. No woman should be underestimated of what they can do. The book Lab Girl shows that Hope Jahren story is based on equality. Hope wants to show people that men and women should be treated equally and disproves stereotypes by succeeding without money, overcoming bias hardships and completing labs that are usually done by men. She is like any ordinary teen with big hopes, Will she succeed in proving people by having her dream come true? Hope Jahren was raised in a poor place where they didn't believe in woman. In that society, people took advantage of women and thought they were only capable of doing chores and taking care of children. "Undeterred, she moved to Minneapolis anyway and tried to support herself while studying chemistry at the University of Minnesota, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. I Am A Great Writer I'm a great writer. Writing is something that comes naturally to me. I don't even have to think about it most of the time. Being able to communicate through writing is important with any career, especially management. I am very creative as well. Ever since I was a kid, I've always been into drawing, music, and coming up with new ideas. I am very motivated and I know how to lead teams. For example, in my Business Ethics class I took it upon myself led a semi–dysfunctional team and we achieved a good grade in the class. I am also a perfectionist, which is good but can easily backfire on me. Where I See My Management Weaknesses One of my weaknesses might be that I'm an introvert. To address the introvert/extravert issue; I'd say I'm more of an introvert. Some of my favorite authors including Zig Ziglar and Grant Cardone identify themselves as introverts although they come across as strong extraverts. Mr. Ziglar said something that made me want to get into sales. He said that introverts make better salespeople because they can relate to the customer better, research what the customer wants, and adopt characteristics that an extravert has. On my spare time I read books like "Sell or be sold" by Grant Cardone, "See you at the top" by Zig Ziglar, "Live your dreams" by Les Brown, and of course "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield. All of which motivate me and make me a better person. I view success as my obligation, duty, and responsibility and I believe it is dangerous to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Personal Narrative Essay: My Experience To Monkey Island A few years back, on a sunny Sunday morning, I visited Palolem beach along with my cousins. The moment we reached the beach, we could see a lovely deserted island popularly known as Monkey Island (marked as Kankon Island on Google maps). We had a great time playing on the beach; it was a very secluded & clean beach those days. The island alluringly beckoned to us and we decided to take a closer look at it. We walked towards a rocky area as the villagers told us we could wade across from there to Monkey Island in low tide. However, when we reached the rocks we found that the water between us and the island was neck deep & the current was very strong. We decided not be take a risk, dropped the idea of visiting the island and instead sat down on the rocks to enjoy the view of the sea. It was a nice experience watching the sea, the waves, the rocks & the spray. After a while we noticed that a little further ahead, an old man in rags was fishing using a homemade fishing rod. He seemed to have had a bad day so far as there were only 3–4 small fishes lying in a small plastic bag next to him. We felt sorry for him and hoped that he would catch a big fish soon. After a few minutes, our prayers seemed to have been answered as he reeled in a big fish. We felt happy thinking that he would be able to eat a good meal today. However, to our utter dismay after removing the big fish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another cousin suggested that if he is unable to afford a new pan, he can cut the big fish into small pieces before frying it! This is not an article about fishing & frying pans, but about pursuing big dreams. Many times, like the old man threw back the big fish which would not fit his tiny frying pan, we dismiss our big dreams because we feel that they are too big to fit our existing mindsets & abilities. Let us apply the two approaches suggested above in pursuing our big dreams. Approach 1: Get a bigger frying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Integrity In Treasure Island In Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, Jim Hawkins develops a growing sense of integrity and eventual ability to do what is morally right, no matter what the personal cost. Jim goes from behaving like a kid ready for an adventure out at sea to an independent person understanding the ups and downs of the journey and understanding struggle. In the beginning of the novel, Jim becomes very excited, not thinking about the many troubles he may run into. All he wants rise to have the freedom to take control and play a part as lead unlike in the Admiral Benbow. After waiting for a long time, one evening, Squire Trelawney sent a letter telling Jim about the new crew of pirates, Long John Silver, and the ship, the Hispaniola, he got so excited he could not ... Later in the novel, Jim has to kill Isreal Hands after learning of his mischievous plan to exterminate Jim even though he seems disabled "all fallen together in a bundle... too weak to bear the light" (147). Then Jim really gets involved in sailing and turns around by instinct, only to find Hands ready to strike with "a long knife, or rather a short dirk" (146). Then Jim strikes back, even though to Jim, it will always be wrong to injure someone, but Jim has to save his own life. During this life–changing moment of a fight Jim narrates, "I lost no time in changing the priming of my pistol, and then, having one ready for service, and to make assurance doubly sure, I proceeded to draw the load of the other, and recharge it afresh from the beginning" (151). This illustrates how Jim is willing to shoot Hands with his two pistols to save his life and his crew's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. High School : Highest Potential Highest Potential As a junior in high school, I have recently become interested in psychology. While studying psychology/sociology this previous year, I have become drawn to the topic of human potential. After gathering what I have learned, it turns out most people want to live their life to the fullest by becoming all they can be. To reach this fulfillment of a higher/better self is known as self– actualization. A major problem for many people today is reaching their full potential, although the potential already lies within them. Everyone has the power to succeed and to become self– actualized. All it takes is to become an optimistic, realistic, and problem centered individual. So what is stealing people's happiness and the ability to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To become a self–actualized person, people must first meet certain needs. Abraham Maslow, founder of humanistic psychology had focused on the positive sides of mental health ( WGBH," People and Discoveries Abraham Maslow"). In his studies and interests dealing with human potential, Maslow had created a pyramid known as the Hierarchy of Needs. This pyramid consisted of five levels: physiological needs, safety needs, belonging needs, esteem needs, and self– actualization needs. Maslow believed people have an inborn desire to be self–actualized, and people who dealt with managing the higher needs were what he called self–actualizing people (WGBH," People and Discoveries Abraham Maslow"). The more each lower–level need was satisfied more the next higher–level need would be satisfied (Taormina "Maslow and the Motivation Hierarch"). In addition, family support, traditional values, and life satisfaction had significant positive correlations with the satisfactions of all levels (Taormina, "Maslow and the Motivation Hierarchy"). To become a self–actualizing individual, people must reach all these needs listed and described in the following paragraphs. Starting from the bottom of the pyramid is physiological needs. These necessities are survival based; the need for food, water, and rest. This consists of the most basic needs. All levels out of the pyramid come secondary until these physiological needs are met (Tay L. Diener, "Maslow's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Odysseus Character Analysis Zig Ziglar once said, "Try to look at your weakness and convert it into your strength. That's success." This means that even though there may be traits about yourself that are slowing you down, everything depends on the way you handle them. Although most heroes seem superhuman, they often have human–like weaknesses. Their faults can get them into trouble if they aren't careful. In the book The Odyssey by Homer, the hero Odysseus has many humanlike flaws like excessive pride, selfishness, and lack of leadership that gets him and his crew into tough situations. Odysseus' exaggerated pride takes over him at times and causes him to make foolish decisions. For example, when Odysseus and his crew escape the cyclops, his ego took over and he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This shows that Odysseus does not take into consideration other people and the risks that he is putting them in. This information shows that Odysseus is a self–centered person. Odysseus shows terrible leadership skills through his words and actions. One way Odysseus lacks leadership is when he did not tell his crew what was in the sack, so they took matters into their own hands and "loosed the sack and all the winds burst out and a sudden squall struck and swept [them] back to sea" (Book X, 53–54). This means that since Odysseus was keeping secrets from his crew, they felt the need to open the sack and see what was really inside of it. This could have all been avoided if he told them the truth to begin with and earn a role as a trustworthy leader. Another way he lacks leadership is when they were on the island waiting for the giant and one of his shipmates said "'Let's make away with the cheeses, then come back– hurry, drive the lambs and kids from the pens to our swift ship, put out to sea at once!' The criticism of appearance causes many people to hide their legitimate self. The superficial life that many people are able to live is not for everyone. Going against one's community is ethical when their judgment of an individual does not allow them to truly be happy. By criticizing one's appearance, the community drives people to escape from common limitations. They are only concerned about what they can get from others and have little interest in others' needs. Exchangers... receive and then give. These team members focus on keeping score. Zig Ziglar clearly states the essence of this approach; "You can have everything in life that you want if you just give enough other people what they want." How do you build yourself and your team by becoming a Giver? You can begin by taking these five steps: 1. Place others first in your thoughts. Healthy work relationships begin with the ability to recognize co–workers needs. Remember team goals and work to develop an attitude of kindness toward teammates. Show respect to people joining your team – even before he/she has a chance to earn it. Commit random acts of kindness. 2. Focus on giving, not the return on investment of your time. Novelist Herman Melville believed "We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men." We are linked with our team and our destinies are interwoven. As a result, when we help others, we benefit. Givers are like investors in the stock market. • 32. Personal Statement : Psychology And Sociology As a junior in high school, I have recently become interested in psychology. So what is stealing people's happiness and the ability to reach their full potential? The answer is fear. Due to doubts, fears, and temptations people are holding back from all they can be. As a result, many people are not reaching this achievement of a greater life. Abraham Maslow stated, "Most people remain unaware of the nature, variety and extent of what lies within" (Young, "What is Self– actualization?"). This is a common obstacle among people today, yet there is a solution. It will take many processes and life changes to become a self–actualizing individual, but I believe that people, including myself are capable of achieving this gratification. Just like Zig Ziglar affirmed, "Man was designed for accomplishment, engineered for success, and endowed with the seeds of greatness" (Ziglar 4). In the following ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Persuasive Essay About My Dream "Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. The best has yet to come"– Zig Ziglar. Life is different for everyone, no one is raised the same no matter what we think. No one has the perfect life, with the perfect parents, the big, beautiful, house with the white picket fence in the front yard. Instead in life if we're lucky we'll get one of those things, but most people get none. Inside our head we have our life planned out, our career, the number of kids we want, the person we want to marry. But as we grow up and acknowledge the world around, we realize life doesn't go as planned. That you don't marry the person you want, have the number of kids you want, and your life isn't the same as you planned it to be. When you're little you have your life planned out a certain way. You want to be a princess living in a big castle and your prince charming coming to save you. All throughout your childhood your dream life changes. You go from wanting to be something dramatic to setting for something realistic. Sooner or later you realize you want to get married and have a family. Every little girl has their dream wedding planned out, from the perfect white dress down to the color of the flowers the flower girl is throwing. Everything has detail and is perfect for you. You don't let anyone tell you anything different. You look up to your parents and wish for a relationship like theirs. Life was amazing, but soon enough something takes a turn. But your only five so you don't know any better. You stick to the way things are but you adapt to the life around you. However, as you get older and aren't that five year old girl anymore you see life in a different way. Now you're 14 and in high school. Life hasn't been the way you planned. Your parents got a divorce, you have no real image of what love really is. Going home isn't as easy anymore. You put on a fake smile around everyone at school, and they see you as someone who is always happy. But behind that smile is someone who isn't happy. At home all you hear is yelling and screaming. No one at home is happy. All the friends you grew up with you longer talk to. So much for the keeping in touch and not letting high school drift them apart. Then you get blamed for ... • 34. What Is The Best Response To Conflict Why having a positive attitude is the best response to conflict. Zig Ziglar once said, "Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will." In more than one way Ziglar was correct in saying this, a positive attitude is better than a negative one, especially when it comes to conflict. Anne Frank and Mrs.Breed both show how a positive attitude towards a problem would help more than a negative one. In my experience, negative thinking results in more conflict, which means, positive thinking results with a solution, most of the time. This leads me to believe, a positive attitude is the best response to conflict. Anne Frank was a perfect example on how a positive attitude is much better than a negative one. She states, "I don't think I will ever feel at home in this house, but it doesn't mean I hate it. It's more like being on vacation in some strange pension." (Frank, entry July 11, 1942, paragraph: 18) She mentions she doesn't like the house, but she remains positive and says it's like being on vacation. Anne also says," I was able to plaster the wall with pictures. It looks much more cheerful."(Frank, entry July 11, 1942, paragraph: 19 ) She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An experiment was created to see how positive and negative thinking affect the brain. According to the article, " Participants who saw images of fear and anger wrote down the fewest responses. Meanwhile, the participants who saw images of joy and contentment, wrote down a significantly higher number of actions that they would take, even when compared to the neutral group." (Huffington Post, "The Science of Positive Thinking") This shows you think more clearly when you have a positive attitude than when you have a negative one. This proves that having a positive attitude is the best response to conflict, because you think more clearly and your brain functions better with positive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I would always put him first before anyone else, because he was somehow different than the others. Like Atticus once said in "To Kill A Mockingbird," "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his the point of view–until you climb into his skin and walk around in it. I never really understood why he did such things to hurt me and I know he didn't mean to. • 36. Obstacles Of Adversity It's the beginning of senior year and I look out too all of my friends for advice about how to overcome the obstacles that this year has to offer. We continue to chat for a while and the conversation shifts. The question ¨what will determine success in my life,¨ exposes itself to the group and just before anyone was able to answer, we scatter to our next class of the day. Responses to this question are often based on objects, and I disagree. According to Zig Ziglar, ¨The foundation stones for balanced success are honesty, character, integrity, faith, love, and loyalty.¨ All six of these traits are important, but the three I think are the most important are honesty, integrity, and faith. It causes you to not want to wake up in the morning. It encourages you to sleep when you're supposed to be working. It tells you that you can't do anything without the energy that it has stolen. But what can you do? Sleep more? What if it comes with some condition you have? What if the doctor has told you they can't do anything. It's something you must do yourself. Wow. • 38. Adversity In Chris Gardner's 'The Pursuit Of Happyness' "There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time." Malcom X said this quote long ago and it's still relatable to this day. Adversity takes courage, heart, and perseverance. All these qualities will make your hardtimes worth it after a devastating heartbreak, but making the right choice however, is not a cakewalk. The easy road is there with a big sign saying: "It is too hard to move on! Just stay here!" This is a tempting offer for some, but others have a different thought in mind. Their story does not end there, it is just beginning. The choice of having adversity is there and only the strong–minded will take it and continue their story, and their next step towards success. • 40. Budgeting Persuasive Essay For many people, budgeting plays a very important role in their lives. This usually applies more to adults than their children though. So... should you be forcing your children to have a budget, and stick to it? I don't believe so. First off, we're kids, we should be having fun. If we earn the money that we are spending, then why shouldn't we be able to spend it the way we choose? Second, I believe that when your child becomes a teenager, you should be allowing them to make mistakes. There is a quote by Zig Ziglar that states: "Money won't make you happy, but everybody wants to find out for themselves." This, I believe, is very true. We have all heard the people who have said that spending money helps relieve their sress. Could this be the hope that today's teens are clinging to when the refuse profoundly to keeping a budget?
