Although Gender Identity Disorder (GID) and homosexuality has been in the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) for many years, I was personally unaware of the controversy that surrounded it. I realized that I needed to educate
myself in the issues and changes that have occurred in the DSM regarding GID and homosexuality over the years.

There is a consumer representative on the task force and the members of the task force are diverse in ethnic and racial groups and gender. There are
13 workgroups, and the workgroups focus on specific diagnostic areas (Narrow & Cohen–Kettenis, 2010). The taskforce and workgroups are
composed of 163 members, 39 of whom are from outside the United States. Thirty percent of the members are female, 18% are non–Caucasian, and

beginning of the play, Hamlet is depressed after hearing the news of his father passing away. Being depressed can lead to a health disorder

of the DSM V as a guide. First of all, I would like to start saying that my assessment depends on the given information, and lacks the credibility that I
would like to have before diagnosing a patient. Considering the new diagnostic criteria of the DSM–V, John is suffering from schizoaffective disorder.
Schizoaffective Disorder is one of the Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders that is characterized by schizophrenic symptoms' existence with a
co–occurring mood disorder. In order to diagnose a patient with schizoaffective disorder, the patient must have a two week period with psychotic
disorders, but he or she also must carry traces from a mood disorder. Speculated mood disorder could be depression or bipolar, effecting the
experienced symptoms. My assessment for John is Schizoaffective Disorder (Depressive Type) because I personally believe that he is illustrating both
depression and schizophrenia related symptoms. When we carefully look into John's case, the summary itself reports that he has been in good health
for the last five years except for a few episodes of depression, which was treated with tricyclic antidepressants and supportive psychotherapy. Therefore,

The categorical approach for the DSM can also trivialize small but potentially significant differences between patients. This is especially true in
reference to the thresholds within the diagnostic criteria of the DSM. For example, a client that is just below threshold for a diagnosis may be in
serious need for treatment, but without the diagnosis the client would potentially be at a loss for such services. What is really different between a

insufficient research. The proposed clusters were not based on systematic reviews, metaanalyses, or statistical approaches. They were merely based

Similarities. While studying the layout and information within the DSM–5 and ICD–10, I found it difficult to identify similarities within the two.
However, the DSM–V and ICD–10, have characterized autism as having difficulty with social interactions, communication difficulties, repetitive
actions, and a developmental disorder. Additional information that is discussed within the two resources is that symptoms must be present in the early
developmental period.
Differences. There are many differences between the DSM–5 and ICD–10. For starters, the layout is completely different. Autism in the DSM–5 is

The New Photography Exhibition
MoMA's longstanding exhibition series of recent work in photography, New Photography, returned for its 30th anniversary. The New Photography
exhibition is called Ocean of Images and is showing 19 artists and artist collectives from 14 countries. The exhibition was organized by Chief Curator of
Photography Quentine Bajac, Lucy Gallun, assistant curator; and Roxana Marcoco,senior curator; with the assistance of Kristen Gaylord, Beaumont
and Nancy Newhall Curatorial Fellow, Department of Photography ("Ocean of Images: New Photography 2015 | MoMA"). According to MoMA's
exhibition description, the Ocean of Images is suppose to be probing the effects of an image–based post–Internet reality by examining various ways of
experiencing the world ("Ocean of Images: New Photography 2015 | MoMA"). Some artists have created new work specifically for the exhibition
including DIS and Katja Notvitskova. Photography was not fully accepted as art until the 20th century and today, photography has a large range of
what it can produce as a medium. However the curator 's choice these groups of artists to represent the state of photography and the artists are more
concerned with the decision that creates the image. The curators focusing on the artists having the camera and the internet in common. The choice of
the title alludes the Internet to have a connection to water, and being a whirlpool of images.The "ocean" being referred to the internet and how
technology is being associated with water
