• For the following Process, if it is given that the Pinch temperature for the cold
streams and for the hot streams are 60 and 70 respectively. Design the heat
exchanger network indicating the minimum heating and minimum cooling loads.

• Heat needed in (3) = (120-60) * 36 = 2160 KW
• Stream (3) will be supplied with the needed energy and stream 1 will have 40KW
remaining
• To know the Temperature of stream 1
• 2160 = 20 * (T-70)  T= 178 C

• Stream 2 heat load will be depleted, to know the temperature of the output of
stream 4:
