Mr. Tan Tock Seng donated money in 1844 to build a hospital for the poor in Singapore, originally called the Chinese Pauper's Hospital and later renamed Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The hospital has since expanded, opening a new facility in 1999 with over 1,200 beds across 34 wards specializing in various medical disciplines. Nursing has also advanced, focusing more on mental health while requiring greater technical skills like venepuncture compared to the past when duties centered on physical care and hygiene with limited technology.

technological development.

5. In 1999 , they opened the new hospital by
deputy prime minister Mr .lee hsian long.
It was fully operated in May 1999.

6. There are 1,211 beds in 34 ward.
