4. History
• In 11 March 1827, the French doctor
Antoine Clot established the first
medical school in Egypt and attached
it to a military hospital in Abu Zaabal.
• In 1837, the medical school and
hospital was moved to palace of
Mohamed Alainy in Cairo and
renamed as Kasr el Ainy Hospital
• In 1925, Kasr el Ainy joined Cairo
University
• The current hospital was built in 1936
