The Sports Authority, San Francisco, Ca
• Responsible for 11 North Bay area stores that include over 400 employees and generate over 96M
in sales annually.
• Work with Marketing Department to identify marketing opportunities and manage Grass Roots
initiatives.
• Coach, train and develop staff to meet Authority Service expectations.
• Oversee opening of three new locations as well as five remodel locations to execute company
growth and re-branding initiatives.
• Work with corporate store planning department to role out new SA Elite test market launch in the
bay area.
Store Manager 1999-2005
The Sports Authority
• Managed five different Sports Authority locations during transition from Sportmart Inc. ownership
to Gart Sports Inc and through merger with The Sports Authority.
• Accountable for increasing sales, improving visual and operation standards and developing staff to
meet the needs of company growth.
• Improved visual, operational standards and sales results at various store volume levels from 7M to
12.5M from Sacramento to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Store Manager 1998-1999

• Effectively manage daily activities to include sales and operational directives.
• Grow Copy and Print Business Services as well as direct ship delivery business.
• Improved sales by 21% by through cold calls during stores second year of operation.
2. Store Manager 1996-1998
Lumberjack Building Materials, Redding, CA
• Managed full-line building materials store that included more than 70 employees, a 60K sq. ft.
showroom, 40K sq. ft. warehouse, 30K sq. ft lumberyard, commercial staff and delivery fleet.
• Maintained 17.2 million in sales annually during company chapter 11 process.
• Grew commercial business by 12% to 6.3 million with an outside sales staff during company
chapter 11 procedures.
• Spread fiscal sales, payroll and expense budgets and incorporated into a plan to maximize profits.
• Managed all aspects of purchasing, hiring, and maintaining a fleet of trucks and drivers to DOT
requirements.
Regional Loss Prevention Manager 1994-1996
Lumberjack Building Materials, Sacramento, CA
• Direct, support and counsel regional group and store management staffs in the analysis,
development and implementation of strategies related to building materials loss reduction
programs.
• Provided a partnership between Store Operations and corporate Loss Prevention staff.
• Developed company “Standards Reduce Shrink” program designed to establish basic operational
house keeping practices that reduced loss due to inventory shrink.
